Will Arnett is Super Mad That Jimmy Kimmel Didn’t Invite Him on Vacation with Jason Bateman

our first guest tonight is back from his annual summer yacht hop with a toasted marshmallow tan and a voice that makes one hell of a case for smoking cigarettes he is host of Lego Masters season three premieres September 21st on Fox please welcome will the thrill Arnett [Applause] foreign [Applause] wow very good to see you God it's good to be back in show business isn't it civilian life sucks right we're back yeah yeah we are back we we are back it's hot I'm sorry thanks for being my first guest here how are you I wanted to I wanted something I could look forward to because you know it's a little bit depressing to have to go back to work after summer vacation even though this is a fun job well first of all you've been you've been off for a while I have so let's not you're you're not depressed you've got like the schedule of a kindergarten teacher and like like a thousand times easier and you get paid like two and a half million times or more thank you [Applause] um what were the highlights of your summer were you in one of your prefabricated homes yeah no I was gallivanting really I brought back the Lost uh art of galavanting no that's not true I'm just spending a lot of time in a lot of exclusive clubs I would I would say you know but you wouldn't and um no I spent a lot of time with the kids this summer we we just had a great time and uh yours are just a group of children a bunch of kids that I've had some really nice kids that were unattended um you have three boys I have three boys um I didn't notice that you have somebody in your audience who asked uh advice before the show about being a stand-up and oh yeah give them some advice and I thought yes I you should have told them because I think that you would agree don't try to make like a long bit out of brain injuries right oh yeah yeah yeah yeah don't not even a short bit and don't and let me just scroll that young man that's right you know what you really crossed the line there and I think I speak for all of us but you would agree that it's not very fertile ground I think we all would agree there's only one person who doesn't seem to know that and this is that guy over there God bless him but he's like he's young he's learning he is learning I love watching people learn you have funny kids I have really funny kids they uh well you know you know my kids yes and you know they're extraordinarily funny like in a way where you don't even know how to react kind of thing well like Abel when he was seven he started like I I knew when he first said to somebody a friend of mine when he was he was seven he actually he burned them and then he said ah you just got burned by a seven-year-old who's still learning how to tie his shoes and I was like wow that's so layered he used his own inability to tie his shoes as a burn on the other person still layered and good it's really good and like the other day we were hanging out and he said um he was just saying a bunch of nonsense and Archie goes who's my son R2 is almost 14 he said God Abel just he just spews all this nonsense and he just says all this stuff this complete conversation killer and immediately Abel goes you know he's a conversation killer John Wayne Gacy there we go and I go we're like What Men why are you also you're 12. you've just turned 12. he's maybe he's getting into the documentary section on Netflix a little bit too much do you ever have to have a conversation with the kids where you go that's just that's over the line that's too much like you did with this guy over here because well there's just you know there's a lot of like when it especially these days of like when is too soon and it's just and it's never [Laughter] because like people now it's like oh this guy made a joke about the signing of the Magna Carta I don't know that was like 400 years ago man give it a minute what yeah it's never too soon wasn't built in a day oh now the Romans hey man it's an expression your um sometimes um what your friend Jason Bateman sometimes don't put him on me he's oblivious you're a friend too but don't say this is so your friend Jason and then say something about the you know what I mean yeah well you know Jason and I went fishing over this oh I know yeah look at this so Jimmy goes on vacation you guys didn't invite me on vacation and I know what you're gonna say is we always sort of did you didn't really well okay if in my wife sending you an email specifically inviting you on vacation that's true that you did not respond to at all in any way is that I mean does that count or is that would you need something engraved and I'm not kidding this is not even a bit I totally forgot about it laughs did she did and I said we were going to be away so but anyway I'm still mad there's no matter you got to go in there I'm so deep on being mad about it look at this picture Jason Jimmy sent me this photo of Jason he he did Jimmy send me that photo on a chain look at him look at this fish and look at Jason Bateman catching a fish and then I texted did I not I texted back and I said Jimmy send me a picture of the guy who actually caught it he sent me that yeah that's where I am that's Ryan God bless Ryan because Ryan's the guy who actually caught it well I want to uh by the way smartless you co-host with Jason Bateman and Sean Hayes yeah I looked it up today thank you it is the number sixth ranked podcast in the world is that true yeah well according to what I looked up what am I doing here this is so stupid in my mind uh Lego Master season three premieres I mean just watching people do that watching adults build Lego is the best and get and they're super into it it's amazing they are super in they're super and they're really good at it and it's fun to watch a show where people are actually good at doing something yes you know yeah yeah this is not usually the way it goes no it's not it's usually just about it's like gotcha and let's like watch you know give them lots of booze and watch them you know wreck their lives yeah yeah marry someone they should yeah that's not this show that's not this show no this show was a lot of fun and I I honestly you know I'm a pretty cynical guy but I does legitimately make me feel good when people come up and say we watch this show as a family legit I'm like oh that's nice that is nice yeah and you are one of the executive producers I didn't realize is Brad Pitt yes do you think he's ever seen the show I don't think he has but uh that's not true he has seen the show and uh uh of course he has seen the show because he produces it and we got him to do a little bit he's doing a little bit this year at the beginning at the beginning of the uh the season which is fun uh and he's just an all-around great guy and I'm just because you say of course he's seen the show and it makes because he sends me notes yeah go ahead because like Bateman yeah baby you know he's a producer of this under the banner of Heaven yeah which I love that book and I was real excited and it's a great series and I said wow man that's great you guys are producing he's like yeah I heard it's good yeah no yeah I read the book too and I I I'm quite certain that he has not yeah yeah I don't think he has either yeah but but mainly because he can't uh read right yeah but he does he is good at fishing now no he has read the book everybody we love Jason speaking of people who are totally unqualified to do a job they've been hired for you now are uh wow hosting a um a show about Formula One racing yes yes and have you how far back now I'm gonna guess that your Formula One racing um fandom yeah goes back to the time you started watching that show on Netflix about Formula One racing yes Jimmy that is so classic you yeah but it's still classic you even though you're right so you but don't I seem like I would be a formula one fan now you do yeah I'm asking your audience oh I mean nothing better than asking an audience see you fell in love with the support actually you know speaking of baby baby was the one who said You Gotta watch this drive to survive on Netflix I started watching it I fell in love with it and I got really really into it like way into it and so I started actually watching formula one and then now they decided that you know it's just gained in popularity so we're doing this thing with amp which is a new service that you can get a new app that you can listen to all audio and it's me and Mika Hocking in former two-time Formula One champion oh you don't have to tell me I Mika Mika's the best well first I don't feel like I do have to tell you her and Joe yeah yeah uh so we do we do this uh post race show so we're doing it uh uh you know from all the Formula One races The Grand Prix around going around the world yeah yeah I'm I'm going to Japan soon and I'm going to uh Austin and Abu Dhabi and everywhere for these races and I'm really into it and it's super super fun so you can listen to it on AMP after the races after you've watched Lego Masters on Fox good night everybody can I get too good at plugging stuff I know I think you did am I really good at this you should do some voice over work well I'm just saying you're do you think there's an opening I think there are probably several uh yeah anyway so we're doing this thing it's a lot of fun I love that I get to do it and uh yeah it's a blast um you know Chris Bianco the chef I do know Chris Bianca Chris Bianca you've met I know Chris I met him through you you have any you want to plug him or anything like that uh I mean what you mean plug for anyone yeah yeah he won the James Beard award he won the James Beard thing is coming up live he's got a new restaurant he's got this restaurant that's opening so you he's a super nice guy and he's a great cook and I've enjoyed some of his food with you before and so I'm excited that he's gonna be here tonight that was really good then he really turned it around
