alright guys checking the props this was brand new hasn't been used yet this one's been hell and back and this one sees light duty okay so anyways both of the channel this is Connery from out of work outdoors today I'm just kind of swapping props around and I was planning going out on a trolling trip it's something I've never done and can't get into but anyways I was addressing some of the problems with the boat and I'm kind of changing it from what I'm gonna be doing in the next couple of days which is like I said trolling but I took a prop off and I had three of them right in front of me and I remember back in the days when I was like a witch prop to go with what is a problem what does it do stuff like that and I couldn't find these videos out there so I'm so I was on the struggle bus for a little bit so I'm trying to make this video to help all the guys that are some questions as to what props to use and size of props and pitches ok so here we go this was my experience I talk about when it comes in a prop I walk the first number that you want to get to know is you'll have a number of times a pitch right the first number is going to be the diameter of the blades all these have the same diameter though their pitches are different okay so all my little you know little props here are all 8 and a half or 8.9 inch prompts in diameter if they are a right-hand turn okay that's also very important right hand turn star left hand turn props as well but there's a also then it goes x times and then there's a little number usually there's a little number to the right of it like this one this one says it's eight point nine times nine point five P nine point five pitch alright so which one do you pick in let me tell you off the bat this one the reason why it's been to hell and back at this Division one and then I bought this one then I bought that one okay so why did I buy two more and why didn't I just not place this one well because this little boat this little one little John but you guys I see appreciate you guys have seen it on the channel couple times we've dubbed it the Stella it's gone to hell and back that's this little boat is gonna take soma I mean it goes on the big lake small lakes three footers you know three foot swells does all the rivers is all the damn fishing in more and and more okay so it's had a awesome life that you can see oh and my Larry I'm redoing all the rivets cheap so keep an eye out for that video this is a boat leak like a mofo right now I mean it leaks I have no foe so we've gone and used tools and you can fix opponents so that's another video coming up regardless see you going back prop prop decisions and why so this is the only M is the original one that came with the the motor it is eight point nine by eight point five so it's eight and a half pitch eight and a half six and a half nine hat all right what what's wrong with this one they're all with it's just the oh yes it's the best all around okay even guys an idea what's going on some guys are interested in top speed and some guys are interested in minimum speeds or trolling speeds right on this prop as soon as I engage the motor I get about a mile per hour on this prompt I get about 1.5 it's 2 depending the day I haven't used this one yet but I'm assuming it's under a mile prowl on the top end of everything right this is my little job belt if I'm the only person in it this one gives me about 17 miles per hour this one gives me about 20 21 I've seen 22 before but I was like a special day I haven't ran this one I don't expect this one to go over 15 miles per hour ok that's what I like okay light both those respects that I can see going on once again I'm running a little 14 foot johnboat to 1436 Alumacraft small boat okay it weighs about 120 pounds I can oh I get a group 30 you know 29 battery in there it's all ran electrical you eyes and I'm powered with a a 9 mercury four-stroke 9.9 okay so power is on the low end okay but all these principles apply to all those it's okay so once you get the basics of it you can use it to your benefit all right so that's top in okay so why why don't I always want a prop that just tops out surprise well it's because it depends on what you want to you obviously but for me sometimes I get a lot of people that want to go fishing me and sometimes we carry a lot of crap with us well you carry a lot of weight you want a lower prop if you feel like your engines not strong enough to overcome that way you want a lot of prompt lower props also get you out of the hole shot people call the hole shot they're gonna get you up and going faster you know you'll climb in speed a lot faster so on this one it'll go from 0 to 15 hofstra then this one will ever go zero to 15 miles per hour but keep in mind this one can't 22 just it just takes the time gets there okay so terms with the world the world of efficiency and things like that if you want to travel a long range that's probably the prompt for you but if you're a railroad guy and all you do is cut around and say you're doing trot lines and stuff like that you won't you really actually preferred this one especially after a long haul you know a lot of weight in your boat and you got a lot of food a lot of fish a problem you want you just do why I'm not going this way how do those away because it's just utterly destroyed because you can see it is in bad shape bad shape means you can reuse it you don't care about it and that's what happened this one I just pulled off the boat we just came back from the creek from the Memorial Day celebrations and we were running into rocks and trees and other stuff those it's okay you're not spinning this thing at full speed so fine you don't want to Nick up a nice one okay like these two and in from the most part this one and I'm sure this one's gonna be also this will see some River duties well after I retired this one for sure and this one's only a kid stuff so if we want to cover Ghadir you know traveling light that time so that's the one and as you can see these props are actually what they mean by a pitch for the sideways see how the pitches are a little different well as you can see for sure for sure but the angle may that's what it means is to pick just the angle is lot slower or less aggressive than the angle on this one angle this was fairly aggressive and if you look at it from the top you can see the blade designs are slightly elongated on this one compared to these two you can see talking about high pitch low pitch says here's a lot lighter this one this one's a long year long shot here this is a long way from the same manufacturer does either the OEM of Quicksilver props yeah it's comparisons long make them in stainless but for this purpose we're gonna stick with aluminum okay and that's about it I mean if you want you want to go fast top in there you go this is the all-arounder which will carry heavy loads they do more trolling type stuff or if you got a push up there's a little heavier than what you're used to smaller slower problem and that's key okay guys so I hope that helps you let me know if you have any questions on these props and I'll do my best to answer you I'm not the know-it-all by I feel like after about five years of voting I feel like I know enough tensor most of the beginners questions okay so once again Connery from out of work be sure to sub the channel so you don't miss anything that goes on with this boat as we do plan to do a lot of fishing with it and maybe you retire because it's had a harsh life alright guys see y'all next one
