Why You Shouldn't Rush To Buy A C8 Corvette

alright I'm here in Germany and it's midnight right midnight time change six hours ahead in New York but I've got to talk about the Corvette c8 because it is a game changer we knew it was gonna be cool you pretty much knew what it was gonna look like forever but you didn't know the fine details and probably the most important details are you going to talk about are the price tag because you look at the car it looks like it looks like the NSX it looks like it looks like every other mid-engine car really it's there's only so much you can do with car design to really make them stand out when you put the engine behind and this is a radical departure obviously the first mid-engine Corvette the engines always been in the front so you have all this room in the front and you always have like not like the Viper where you have this long hood or even the SLS or SLR McLaren or any of these Mercedes where you have a big big hood in the front the Corvette never really had that like you never got the like I'm looking over something vibe but now you're gonna have a much bigger field of vision because the engines behind you and to me I feel like you get a lot lighter steering out of that and then just the front end I know I haven't driven it yet I don't know but I'm excited for that but the price tag is what's really gonna shock you because now this throws just uh I don't know a monkey wrench right into the whole market because you had the guy the Ford GT came out you have the Supra that came out you have the gt500 that came out all these other cars that came out the NSX the NSX is now valueless because of this car because now you have a car the Corvette which you know is going to have good performance they always do right like there's no doubt that you're gonna come out with this Corvette and you're gonna have a bass Corvette that is putting down sub three-second zero to sixty times now I'm not a big zero-to-sixty guy but it's got a coil over suspension now instead of the leaf spring suspension there's just so much that they were able to do by revamping the entire platform you have to think of how long they've been making Corvette since the late 50s you know it's gonna be a good car and you know it's gonna be priced incredibly cheap there was talk of the car being a hundred and twenty thousand all this chatter for the last couple of years they did this rollout right they they didn't do a seven to ten year rollout like the super and the NSX they priced it really well who's gonna go look at that Corvette and look at the Supra and then go buy the Supra nobody it just it's not gonna happen who's gonna look at the Corvette and the GT 500 which gt500 looks pretty cool but the GT 500 I've got one coming in 93 thousand dollars the gt500 40 grand more than this Corvette everyone's going to the Corvette so like you think I'm funneling everyone into the Corvette now but no wait there's more it's a base Corvette it's just coming out do you want to be the guy with the Oh for guy art oh sure there's gonna be a market it's gonna be a cool car am I getting one absolutely but it's gonna be a rental car it's not gonna be my car it's just it's such a market disrupter now but it's also the fact that you're getting this base car with this performance and the other variance is 0 6 is 0 1 whatever they call the modificator or the the modified platforms that they end up coming out with the Corvettes always do the same thing coupe convertible performance version super version all of these are going to come up and when they the co 6 and the convertible and the and the zero one comes out of the c8 you're not gonna be the guy that is gonna be holding or you're not gonna want to be the guy holding the the first entry-level model because it's not really gonna be worth much and everything else is gonna be more desirable so if you're signing up for one of those you're essentially signing up to be a guy who's buying two Corvettes because when they new upgraded one comes out you're gonna want to buy it or you're gonna look to get out of it in six months but that's not really a Corvette buyer Corvette buyer is generally buy and hold not buy and flip so it's interesting I'm gonna have one I also have a Supra coming in for the rental fleet as I said that's gonna be here in a couple of weeks the gt500 I think is in like 2 or 3 months and then the Corvette as soon as they come out I guarantee I'm gonna have one I don't have an allocation I don't have an order in and on anything like that yet so if you have a dealership and you want to hook me up with one at list you let me know I'll throw that right in the rental fleet and everybody else can try it out I guarantee you as soon as they say they want to buy one I'm going to point them in your direction but coming at you from Germany had to talk about that car because you may think it's a good buy it is it's a good car it's going to be a good you can have those reliability issues potentially I'm really excited about this this is a new deviation for for Corvette and it's it's been a long time coming Wood I personally buy one possibly student driver 2.0 would have to be the performance variant and the thing that you're gonna run into with these performance variants is I don't think it's gonna need the modifications that my first platform did so it'll be a student driver car maybe but I don't know if it'll be worthy of the student driver car cuz it's gonna be pretty much stocked with bolt ons like I think most of the current day performance cars are so get excited it's all over I don't have to tell you every performance spec in the car everybody else has already done that but I assure you it's gonna be an awesome car for an awesome price Corvette or Chevy knocked it out of the park on this one and you're gonna be able to rent one from me in a couple of months when they come in thank you for watching see you tomorrow guten fart I don't know how do
