Because kids like Scooby-Doo, and companies like marketing to kids.
to clone Scooby-Doo's success
I really like this guys voice, but some of the writing seemed forced or laboring the point. It's a good video, but for about half the video, I'm just thinking, "get on with it."
Dynomutt, despite the ties to Scooby, isn't a Scooby-clone, but a parody of Batman crossed with the Six Million Dollar Man (a dog in this case, and they would come up with a bionic dog when NBC picked up Bionic Woman). Slight difference.
Imitation is the best form of flattery
The same reason there are so many pop culture video essayists
I feel like the number of years since 1969 where some new Scooby show were not being produced MUST be a minority. Thereβs basically been new Scooby Doo content creates uninterrupted for 50 years. I just the other day chose to spend 20 dollars to watch a movie whoβs entire premise is βletβs just circle jerk about how great Scooby-Doo isβ and I felt like it was money well spent. Itβs a massive juggernaut. Of course people would want to copy that.
Better question- why are there so many wannabe film and media critics trying to copy the same video essay style without any knowledge of what makes a good video or essay?
Dynomutt is vastly superior.
