started what's up everyone I haven't been here in a while haven't done a live stream in two weeks something like that uh um good to see everyone I've been in uh let's see was I did I do one from Iceland or was it before Iceland Billy was it before Iceland I can't even remember after Iceland okay uh I went to see Pearl Jam in uh Nashville on what two days ago Friday I got to meet Mike McCready got to see um um see the band I got to meet Mike at the Gibson garage which is where they have the uh it was very funny I walk in the Gibson garage is their showroom where Gibson has their guitars and I walk in and there's and people start looking at me and I'm thinking like why are people looking at me because I was be my video was being played on the monitor right there on the big screen on the stage there and uh it was very funny actually um and I saw Matt Cameron uh before the show and um they were amazing program's phenomenal really good Eddie's voice was killer singing really high high parts too um like no cheating on any of the vocal Parts really every time I thought oh he's gonna go for a lower note boom this is really unusual Eddie's 58 it's man that's a lot of singing two hours and 15 minutes is a lot of singing so that's you know I say more more power to them really impressive last time I saw Pearl Jam was um um I want to say 15 minutes 15 years ago uh a sub Pearl Jam open it is flat [Music] if I'm going to play along with this gotta be in tune okay so Oasis let's talk about Oasis I love Oasis always been a massive fan got to see him play on their first tour matter of fact they played at the Masquerade here which is a club now but they played in an 800 seat venue on the first tour and I remember going with my friend Tim Smith who's been on my channel before and Tim played in the ban jellyfish he's like who's this band Oasis now he knew who they were but but they were on their first record and um and they were great they were amazing rock stars even though uh Liam and all Liam stood with his hands behind his back he had a tambourine and he didn't move at all and it was amazing it was amazing um they were just rock stars they sounded incredible too um so I'm in Atlanta Matt just asked me if I'm in Atlanta yeah but the Masquerade used to be in a different building they tore it down I saw a Radiohead play there on Okay computer the best show I ever saw there was The Flaming Lips uh which had the greatest light show I've ever seen but uh Radiohead and Oasis are were unbelievably great shows [Music] um Okay computer right when the record came out they played um Radiohead played that and that was a great I saw a lot of great tours there I saw um Mike Watt uh with Eddie Vedder and Dave Grohl played Trio um that was amazing I was right next to the stage Okay so if we're gonna talk about Oasis and what is oasis's best song You Know if you go to Spotify and you look at it you know what the number one song is with 1.4 billion plays right it is let's see here I'll tell you what it is [Music] yeah I'll tell you what I love about this song um today is gonna be the day that they're gonna throw it back okay the chord progression because of the drones I'm gonna tell you this is not my favorite this is not the greatest Oasis song to me it's close I'll tell you why it's a great song the Drone chord progression right where goes that dsus to A7 sus4 that to me is just really beautiful and it sets up the mood because it has a Melancholy feel and then Liam comes in with the blues with that bluesy vocal that is so and by now you should have somehow realized what you gotta do killer Melody I don't believe that knows the way I do about you now and then the drum part back me the weather's on the street okay that's just incredibly strong it's got a great chorus it's got a moody verse um with with a phenomenal vocal vocal performance in it like everything about this song is incredible if I only had one criticism about the song it's that um that the vocal is too loud for the um uh the vocals too loud in the verse okay that's my only criticism in the first verse maybe the vocal could have come down a little bit always uh uh Wonderwall yeah it's an overplayed song I wonder what was one of the finest songs ever written period no question about it okay what else is another great song well oh now I'm Not In Tune I have to be sharper now for those of you that can't tell the difference between Noel's voice and Liam's voice this is one of the few hits that that Noel Gallagher's saying he wrote all the songs I think he wrote all the songs right yeah yeah um he I don't think there is any co-write with with Liam I I no no Noah wrote all the songs uh Noel sings Don't Look Back in Anger he has a higher voice than Liam he doesn't have the nasally mid-range right it's a it's kind of a sweeter voice maybe you'd want to say uh I don't know he wouldn't probably um um he probably wouldn't wouldn't wouldn't say that but it's a different tone it doesn't have the he doesn't have the grit in his sound uh that Liam has I like this song um [Music] oh what is it done [Music] [Applause] [Music] foreign [Applause] step back summertimes [Applause] okay so that's one of the best pre-choruses because that's as good as most choruses right phenomenal and Great lead up into that and then of course she knows it's too late here okay so those are two Perfect songs Wonderwall and Don't Look Back in Anger are perfect songs perfectly written songs killer melodies great parts really everything about it this one is is uh um wonder wall is really well played the the drum part and everything is is fantastic on it um uh Don't Look Back in Anger uh everything about the song is great okay let me give you another song that that I really like and okay [Music] this is Slide Away [Applause] Slide Away [Music] great melodies [Music] what a great Melody [Music] but I don't know what you're saying to me [Music] [Music] perfect melody [Applause] [Music] [Music] that's one of my all-time favorite kind of core chains Slide Away sorry I love this D7 over F sharp or D9 over F sharp it's it's the church uses this that chord and um um and Under the Milky Way great great chord change but that is a really strong song now if I were to compare it to um Don't Look Back in Anger not as sophisticated of a reverse Melody this is sheer Vibe this is a Vibe song The the complexity on and and the thing I like about this is the verse the chorus tag right there I think it's really absolutely brilliant it's a vibey song um and always been a huge fan of slide away that's one of my favorite Oasis songs okay let me give you another one this may be kind of out of left field for you but um was always a big fan of this maybe because I waited for this record and I wanted to see where where they were gonna go with it and this is a really vibey tune foreign [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] I love the guitar parts [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] I love the video of this too [Music] [Applause] so it has a kind of similar progression to um to Wonderwall as you hear it but the chorus [Music] heavy right now [Music] I love that chorus [Music] yeah so that song has a phenomenal chorus in it really great really great chorus um great parts uh one of my favorite Oasis songs for sure one of their best songs I think um okay there's another song here that I see in my that I've seen in the chat a couple times [Music] this is the master plan foreign [Music] [Music] [Music] and then dance if you wanna dance please brother take a chance you know they're gonna go which way they wanna go okay so the thing about think about the master plan is that the the verse chord progression is is uh and Melody is really sophisticated it's very unawasis and I mean Oasis is not sophisticated it's just really different for them and it just doesn't have the thing about this is the Swagger that the early songs have are the thing that really kind of got me into Oasis right is is as much as I love Noel's voice I think Noel's a brilliant singer but but Liam I just really love his nasally mid-range voice and it it just it gave the band its Vibe you know that's it it just that was the sound of Oasis is is uh is Liam singing but I'm gonna make the case for what I think their best song down [Music] we were getting high [Music] oh man in a Champagne Supernova in the sky I love how we slide me company [Music] in the sky [Music] and I think that that's like a melodica it's like a [Music] degree of harmonica wake up the down and ask a wife that tear away now from your eyes slowly walking down recovery [Applause] [Applause] killer Bridge foreign [Music] great solo how many special people change how many likes to live is strange [Music] everything about this somebody just said three beautiful snares somebody asked if that's an accordion you know I think it's an I thought it was an accordion and the video the guy's playing like a melodica that's like uh uh that you blow through but it could be a harmonica it's just I mean it's a perfect song it's got a great verse it's got a great chorus it's got a great arrangement to it the drum part is cool the guitar fills are cool the solo is great I like how they go from a single vocal in the first verse in chorus to the uh to the doubled vocals once the the heavy guitarists come in the harmonium keyboard somebody said there yes it's probably that's what it is I love all the Grace notes on the snare there's just like every part of the song is is just brilliantly done you know it's got the long out course when it goes up there come on foreign [Music] I love that it has the out chorus where it goes to F major it's the only time it does it in the song it makes it really fresh to me and then they come back and they do the coda on this part here on on the verse [Music] foreign I mean it's just brilliantly I mean everything about it's brilliantly played song to me the greatest Oasis song ever although everything that I played well Slide Away Don't Look Back in Anger Wonder well do you know what I mean those are all uh master plan those are all great songs there's other Oasis songs that are great songs but I mean Champagne Supernova is just Top Notch front to back it has a great thing to that he solos on
