hello and welcome back to another episode of generation films my name is American Ben listen I'm quite aware that during my absence my death was quite a popular topic of discussion on this channel and sure yes it's true in my weakness I was overcome by the rack cool within me I watched as it chewed away at my soul until there was nothing left but the shell of a man scavenging in the source ravaging on the flesh of other humans I was but a rodent but in that darkness in that depravity in that weakness I found strength I found life rather a power that could undo the hand of death and here I stand before you telling you that you can have this power too but not if you keep a closed mind to the more controversial methods of the force well controversial at least according to those who would hold you back from your true potential and one way to start in this course to reaching your full potential is to go and follow our instagram page at the generation film´s we have started meaning for humanity and we need you to be a part of it so please go over there and give us a follow anyway onto the mandalorian now tell me how did you all feel when you heard the words this is Mos Eisley tower we are tracking you yeah spoiler alert Tatooine is officially in the series there's really only ever two reasons to go to Tatooine to buy slaves or to get gas and when the Mandalorian found his ship losing fuel he dropped in that's where he met wannabe Bounty Hunter Toro Callaghan who offered mr. Mandalorian the reward for a bounty in exchange for his help in tracking down a target the successful apprehension of which Toro hoped would win him entry into the bounty hunters guilt manda was very hesitant to take the job being that the target fennecs Shand was what he termed an elite mercenary she's probably better described as an assassin though there's much debate about the differences between assassins and mercenaries though originally assassin was the name for any member of the Nazari branch of ishmael ii LUMS during the crusades a sect that ruled part of northern persia between 1094 and 1256 ad Hassani Sabbah the founder and Grand Master of the Nizari Ismaili state and its Fedayeen military group called his disciples assassin meaning people who are faithful to the foundation of the faith but it was foreign travelers like Marco Polo who misunderstood the name as relating to the term ashish which the order of assassins would purportedly use before going into battle thus their enemies in Syria came to call them Hacha Sheen which would eventually evolved into the English word assassin the Warriors of the Nazari military group aka the assassins would carry out espionage and assassinations of key enemy leaders they killed caliphs béziers Sultan's and Crusader leaders such tactics are for me what distinguishes assassins from mercenaries in the present day mercenary is more of a general term for a soldier for hire killers who are willing to fight for whatever side will pay them and have no personal interest in the politics behind the conflict they are hired to take part in mercenaries might be hired to covertly take out an enemy leader or they might fight openly among larger armies the term assassin does meet the definition of a mercenary but it specifically connotes a hired killer who only acts covertly often alone and targets only important individuals rather than entire armies or groups we see this with Fennec Shand who was alone and on the run in the desert of Tatooine and seems to have the stealth skills of an assassin according to mr. Mandalorian she worked for all of the top crime syndicates including the Hutt cartel such outfits probably relied on her to take out high-level targets important people who got in the way of their operations the huts might have used someone like Boba Fett to track down the wily han Solo but if they needed to eliminate a politician who was obstructing their business deals someone more like Fennec Shand would probably get the call there's plenty of mercenaries throughout Star Wars history and the assassins among them were some of the most highly trained deadly killers in the galaxy assassins almost always only enjoy two things getting paid and killing and the pure joy they took in both acts made them the best takers of life in existence and the best paid to boot once you found that an assassin was after you if you ever did it was time to start getting your affairs in order their skills and high pay of course made them the targets of jealousy by rival killers such as bounty hunters and I know what you're gonna say but bounty hunters were really skilled to the Mandalorian kicked some serious butt okay I mean somewhat fair but they didn't have the same level of stealth killing skills that assassins did I mean did you see that last episode the Mandalorian got shot like four times with a sniper rifle his advanced tactics were basically we're best scar and dry fast which I guess is pretty cool and does make for a great memoir title but I digress assassins were known by many names in the galaxy but no matter what they were called they were always feared by even some of the most dangerous creatures in existence it was the fact of not knowing that made them so frightening one minute you're alive and the next you're dust being rolled into a spice joint in the core world's assassins were often called Slayers however over in the Outer Rim territories assassins were known as exterminators and within the corporate sector Authority they were referred to as problem solvers implying perhaps a usefulness as government bodies certainly found assassins helpful in getting certain beings out of the way when more legal means might not have been sufficient assassination was murder and thus it was illegal almost everywhere in the galaxy but there was illegal and then there was illegal and even then there was Galactic Empire illegal point is though little has been recorded of assassins throughout history they were always there always killing even if the news reported that a key figure died of a broken heart oh yeah I went there hashtag Padme a Star Wars JFK so who were the assassins in the galaxy well assassins might have almost always worked alone on missions but there was an assassin community just as there was a bounty hunting community and just like there was the bounty hunters guild there was an Assassin's Guild we just don't know much about it because the last guy to be allowed and to do research on it had to agree to be assassinated for doing research on it the assassins guild was probably a lot smaller than the bounty hunters guild but like the bounty hunters guild they also had sub guilds the best assassins from all the sub guilds formed the leadership group of the big guild known as the elite circle in the time shortly before the Battle of Yavin the guild was hired to eliminate Galland row a human gun slinger and somewhat of an assassin himself unfortunately Galland row took out half of the Circle this shouldn't really be seen as an accurate reflection of the overall deadliness of the guild though this was the only known contract they ever defaulted on there were other communities of assassins that existed beyond the guild though the malachite poisoners were legendary for their mastery over the poisoning arts with their headquarters on the planet Malachi where they obtained many of the ingredients for their poisons the malachite assassins would carry out missions across the galaxy their members would have poison on them at all times and should they ever be captured would poison themselves before allowing themselves to be interrogated for information though their missions were highly secretive they were rumoured to have played a major part in helping Kanta Spex one rise to become supreme Chancellor of the Galactic Republic another group of assassins was the loge the lobe would take on contracts from a variety of sources whether crime lords governments or Imperial officers they were known for their loyal network of informants that spanned the galaxy and who would act as intermediaries on their behalf and getting potential clients in touch with them such informants were so loyal due in part to the fact that the few informants who did betray them suffered cruel fates that said informants were a good way for assassin groups to remain anonymous and few clients care to know who their members were anyway they just wanted the contracts fulfilled something that the Loeb were almost always good for finally the 4pi assassins were another known group of assassins they were known for using daggers to take out their targets the Silence of the blade being preferable for the delicate nature of their missions few beings of any species were ever skilled enough to become assassins and so the number of assassins in the galaxy at any given time was relatively small but the population of assassins that did exist was made up of many different species sentient species that said some species did have disproportionately high representation among the assassin community these species included the Ann's at a mysterious force sensitive near human species the tyloo Knights orders of bipedal winged species the caressed IANS a humanoid species known for their mastery of a weapon called the dark stick the Bartok a species of clawed barely sentient insectoids the no grier primitive humanoid species with claws fangs in an acute sense of smell and the blood carvers a sentient humanoid insect like race with deadly sharp claws though I don't think anybody ever expected the blood carvers to become the galaxy's account there were also assassin droids such droids were initially developed in the Old Republic to act as law enforcement officers specifically in dealing with highly dangerous criminals however they were later designed for the purpose of assassinating sentient beings on behalf of their maker or buyer designed with superior circuitry and memory cores assassin droids were specifically programmed to have much greater degree of skill savvy and judgment than standard war droids assassin droids were actually often preferred over sentient assassins as droids can be programmed to be loyal and to carry out their missions without hesitation we kind of saw this with the bounty hunting droid IG 11 who doesn't have any reservations about killing baby Yoda while the Mandalorian can't bring himself to do it because of his moral complexities that's not to say no assassin droid ever went rogue though it did happen there were also assassins that worked within armies though their status was still usually secretive until revealed in combat there were clone assassins created by the Kaminoan cloners along with the rest of the clone troopers they were trained to specifically eliminate Jedi learning to enhance the speed of their movements anticipate Jedi strikes and resist their mind tricks the clone assassins hid among the clone army and massacred the Jedi once order 66 was activated finally there were SIF assassins as well this term originally referred to the sect of covert force sensitive killers founded by Darth Revan on Malachor 5 during the Jedi Civil War such assassins carried out the first Jedi purge that began in 39:54 BBY in the time of the great galactic war the Sith inquisitors who fought for the return Sith Empire were known as Sith assassins as well as they specialized in stealth and concealing themselves with the force while at the same time being deadly in combat the Sith would go on to train and use assassins with such specialties throughout their history one of the most famous of them was Darth Maul who served both Darth Plagueis and Darth Sidious Maul was a natural-born killer and a highly skilled assassin who was able to execute high priority missions for the Sith without making much noise or leaving tracks that the Jedi could follow back to his masters in all assassins were some of the most skilled and yet secretive killers in the galaxy mister Mandalorians reluctance to take on the fennec Shan job at first was no negotiating ploy he knew how dangerous she was but ultimately he needed the money and so he took it we always hear about the great battle between Sith Lords and Jedi Masters we hear of wars between armies of the Empire and Republic but when we never hear about our the deadly killers behind the scenes known as assassins who have played a major part in shaping galactic history anyways that Siffin II I hope you enjoyed if you did please give it a like definitely comment down below let me know what you thought of the latest episode of the Mandalorian don't forget to subscribe
