crap I didn't think I had that on I'm done you're  done man wait there's no water period so in this   video we're just basically going to take you along  as we muddle through some things because working   on some projects we're not professional diyers  we've said this over and over you got the chip   and Joanna gam I'm the prototypical muffin top  body style muffin top I like every bit of that   muffin baby we don't even have background in like  Construction conru in at all pluming electrical   none of it we are flying by the seat of our pants  selftaught that too YouTube Verity so because we   have a 20-year-old RV and we are getting ready to  head out for an extended portion of time this is   going to be an upgrade we've got currently a 2.8  Gall per minute pump water P that's the original   pump in this 2004 I believe original yeah I mean  well we didn't replace it since we've owned it   and there's probably a pretty good chance that the  person we bought this r from like they they didn't   do anything they just didn't it's just time to be  a little proactive and change this out so we've   got a couple things going on with this so we just  need to figure out how we're going to mount it up   where the old one is this is the story of our life  here here's the deal Ben is like the Visionary oh   I get to live to this guy and I'm like the realist  the application person so he's like let's do it   bigger better and I'm like let him have his  moment but in the sake of time I'm going to   let Ben handle this project on his own while I am  going to be inside of the RV because couple weeks   back we did a video about needing to mod the  kind of doors that we have under the kids bed   for storage so if you miss that video we'll put  it right up here but so many of you guys gave us   great ideas on actually modding the doors so they  open up differently I'm going to take that project   on inside the RV Ben's going to work outside the  RV and we're going to keep you posted on how these   projects go should we see who can get done faster  well I'm probably going to get done faster because   it's less like to figure out you you got to figure  out how to melt this sucker yeah we have a little   electrical thing that Ben's been brainstorming on  saving power so now here's the thing and this is   interesting too I've been reading in a bunch of  Facebook groups lately too because it's travel   season travel Season's Upon Us and for those  of you that want to just overnight somewhere   even you're not into extensive boondocking but  maybe you're just a one nighter right Harvest   host Cracker Barrel Walmart parking lot whatever  this is a pain point because you wake up in the   morning and now your batteries are depleted  and especially if you don't have lithium it's   a problem so if you can pull it off the battery  directly via 12vt it bypasses the inverter there's   just an energy saving all right so we got we got a  lck on on we got to get to work and then the other   thing is is there is something coming today and we  have a whole another mod to do that's going to be   in a future video so if you're not subscribed  and double check that you're subscribed we've   been actually talking to a lot of our friends  in the content creator community and people   for some reason YouTube has done some things where  they've unsubscribed people so double check you're   subscribed and then hit that little bell thing cuz  that will notify you guys whenever we do have a   video and it doesn't mean you have to watch it  right then it just means that it lets you know   oh by the way there's a new video available yeah  so and then did you guys even know that we have   a newsletter that's free out there that you can  join what we do is email you guys out just like   once a week notifications updates discounts we've  had discounts all right we got to get to work all   right let's go so here's the deal I kind of like  have this little thing about me where it's like   girls can get stuff done too right so secretly I  asked Ben if I could be on this project just for   all of my fellow lady Travelers out there to show  you that girls too can be handy many of you guys   had a great suggestion and right now these doors  like open up and they wouldn't stay open and so   we put these extra little like supports in there  and anyway this this actually I feel like made it   worse because now they don't open up enough so  here's the the plan is we're going to basically   flip these upside down so right now the hinges are  like on the top part we're going to move those to   the bottom and so instead of the door opening  up like this it's going to fold down like this   so the kids can put their stuff in and then we  can put it back up so hopefully this works out   the way that we're thinking because this would I  don't want to put any more holes in this than I   have to I'm going to try to leave these handles  that are here I'm going to try to leave them in   place and hopefully like it literally just works  to like flip this around and move the hinges and   the magnetic clasp that we have so hopefully the  theories all pan out and that works we're going to   keep you posted so I just ran into my first like  little small snag not a huge snag but let me show   you what's going on here real fast so I've got  these little magnetic brackets here that need to   then be switched to up here but this little screw  that's holding it in like I can't get the drill   there because of the angle of this piece of wood  without taking that piece of wood off completely   I'm going to have to take that off just to be  able to get to the bracket which it's not a big   deal but you know now I'm just taking apart more  than what I wanted to have to take apart so anyway   let's see if that all goes okay and then I got to  figure out where to move the magnets cuz here's   the other thing is that I want to try to leave  this intact as much as possible without having   to move anything that's here so like I don't want  to have to move the handle I don't want to have to   move the hinges so these magnetic these magnetic  things here for the magnetic catch what I want to   try to do is line these up as best I can to where  I don't have to move these at all and that it will   just uh hopefully seamlessly mount on the top all  right and as like would have it it would appear   that the screws holding that piece of wood to the  floor are stripped so I'm going to call Ben now   and see what sort of ideas he has because I'm not  sure I mean other than like drilling them out like   hey I ran into a small problem and I'm not sure  what to do about it but long story short maybe   you should just come look at what I got going  on in here give me about a few minutes okay by   all right well in the meantime I'm going to take  off the other door and then we'll figure out how   to move forward from here all right what do you  have going on here okay so here's the Dilemma   is that I need to move these magnetic catches up  and I don't know for sure where I'm going to need   to move them yet but I can't get this off because  this screw this is in the way but either you boys   stripped these I got you you need an extension  well hold on you need a longer bit but you can't   get to this because of the angle this is in the  way with a longer one you should be able to do   it I think this is going to have to come off but  okay so what you need is what's called a Torx Torx   so that is what you need to get that screw out  then we'll use this extension these extensions   come in handy but I don't think you need the  extension no maybe not after we take that off   so all right let's do that okay so time to get  started so take this thing out of the box here   and see what I'm facing ooh even has a new filter  too so this is a nice pump very similar mounting   area so I think this will work just fine first  thing I need to do is just I'm going to take off   the old pump and then make sure the connections  are the same going to get a little bit wet in here oh yeah that should work so I'm just going to  test the voltage and make sure you know this is   in fact positive and this is negative cuz you  never know with RVs yep that's right what you   know wiring that just left over and put in place  and so you never want to trust the colors okay   victory is mine I've got these doors off I've  got everything repositioned we are ready to re   install them so the idea is going to be move out  of the way here so you can see oh and here comes   my wonderful husband oh here he comes hi what's  up okay so here's I got them off okay so I think   this is going to work great job this one I think  I just my thing is is I'm trying to make sure it's   not anyway I might have just a little bit of fine  tuning to do as far as where to put them yeah um   but this is actually where I think an extra set  of hands might be helpful because you have to hold   it up a little bit to install this hinge does  that make sense yeah like you can't just have   it sitting like this so it's like you have to hold  it up a smidge all right so maybe an extra set of   hands yeah okay you have hands I haven't even  started the water pump yet prob little add out there okay so this is [Music] before should be  good always fun to get up inside of here got to   get it lined up struggle is real folks and getting  up in these tight little spaces got to be flexible   there we go and I think I might test it before  I mount it up just to make sure the water flows   correctly and that it works I'm assuming it flows  through this way but you don't want to assume you   know what assuming does right we got the hinges  on so this is going to work well I say that and   then I got a little bit of a we got a little  thing here Ben okay we have to trim this hey I   did but well look it's weird if if here it's fine  you know what but what if if we have a problem   later we can fix it because I've got a new tool  coming in today a dwall oscillating tool that we   can just kind of shave it off a little bit if we  need to # RV life either you're fixing it you're   modding it wait fixing it you're modding it or  you're polishing it cleaning polishing either   fixing modding or cleaning always happening so  more mods and my goal was to try to not have to   pull as much of these off as possible but I am  going to have to pull these magnetic catches off   cuz they're not going to line up exact so I'm  going to pull these off put on the magnets line   these up and that should like wrap this project up  all right and do you want to show them the little   motion lights we got oh yeah so we've got these  motion lights on Amazon adhesive on wood I wasn't   a fan so these actually have it's it is magnetic  but they actually have holes with a little screws   so we can actually screw these under now we'll  see Ben says that he has always been able to get   motion lens to work just fine well okay so here's  the thing here's the caveat it doesn't always work   when there's light some light in the room but  this is going to be pitch dark in there and then   when they go to open it they be light there's at  least like a on off auto yeah so worst case they   can just they can just turn it on worst case I  was thinking maybe like yeah if you do kind of   like even here or like here you can still see  the switch yeah as Ben leaves keeps getting   distracted I'd like to see how much progress he's  really making out there cuz I have a feeling I'm   further along than he is okay so I'm just going  to temporarily connect these up with a little wire   nut and then I'm going to permanently use  some of those solder on connectors that are   waterproof the final connection but this  will just kind of test things out crap I   didn't think I had that on whoops still on that  light it's so bright out here that the light   was not showing up on the switch very well okay  let's give it a test oh yeah it's quiet so much quieter trying to hold these in place and drill  them at the same time wasn't working so I had an   idea of going and getting my Nano dots love these  things so I'm just going to take my little Nano   Dot and put this on here basically not because  this is going to hold it like permanently but it's   going to hold it in place why that I then need to  drill it on and which frees up an extra hand love   these little Nano dots lots of different purposes  that these can serve so here's my hack on now   installing the actual little metal part for the  magnetic catch is I'm going to kind of like cheat   a little but what I'm doing is I just put a nano  dot on this and then I'm going to place this on   the catch itself right so I know right where that  this needs to sit as far as the door is concerned   burned and then I'm just going to shut the door  Nano dot should stick at least to the door enough   so I know right where that I need to drill this  in look it's actually holding right now with just   the Nano dot so came off I know right where to put  it on I'm telling you what man these Nano dots are   a lifesaver I will put a link in the description  below just because like not a sponsorship anything   I bought and paid for these but love how they work  for so many things okay let's take a look at the   fuse panel here and see how bad we messed up water  pump is right there top right let's pull that fuse   and see what we got oh yeah it's a 10 amp fuse  nice and blown so I'm going to go and throw in   a throw in a 20 we need the 20 amp so just a  little caveat don't necessarily do this unless   your wiring can support that so let's see 20 amp  green one here that's a 30 amp 15 3 amp that's 35   No 25 I mean could do that but I'd rather just  go to 20 man they don't make these easy to read   20 that's yellow all right we'll pop that guy in  there okay let's give it a test again oh yeah okay   and then it should turn off oh there might be  air oh yeah I'm hearing some air coming in it's   almost as if there's some air getting sucked into  the pump and that's keeping the pump on so let's   change that out too and I'm thinking we're going  to need to put some of that tape on there on the   threads that will seal it up too painting it up  and then I might have to just go and get some El   connectors to put in place of this because I need  that angle that this is just to test it out to   see if there's air issue okay my Project's done  I know Ben is still out there working but these   now open this way and I will say Ben's motion  light idea so far seems to be working when I put   it on the motion thing the lights come on when  I open this so I attached them with the screws   that they came with got the magnetic latches we  still need to when Ben's multi-tool comes in I   think that's coming in today trim a little bit  of this up you can see where this is catching   a little bit in here so really easy just shave  that off a little there but this is going to be   much easier now and it'll just be ease of use I  think the big thing and we've talked about this   in so many of our videos is the the process of  do check and adjust so when Ben and Tim did this   mod and they kind of did it with the doors coming  up it seemed like a great idea at the time so one   thing that we have to prove out with this coming  up and these magnetic catches is on a travel day   if things start bouncing around are are they going  to hold I hope they do but with it coming down the   other way you don't have to worry about that so  I think that's like part of the thought process   with doing it the other way it is a little bit  more secure it just didn't turn out to be as   practical as what we thought it was going to be  so anyway project one done I'm going to go check   on Ben and see how he's coming on the water pump  and then here I have to show you guys this back in   the back bedroom here told you Ben was working on  this like electrical project back here yeah look   at all of this like I almost feel like some sort  of major overhaul is underway back here with all   of this so I don't know we'll have to see how  that turns out later but I'm done hey I'm done   you're done like you wouldn't be coming in here  to just show me things cuz you're like look at   how wonderful this is yeah is it a different size  the pump is not priming it's a self-priming pump   so it's supposed to you know build up pressure  and once it detects pressure it shuts off well it   keeps going I need a elbow ones like this the ones  that came with the pump are straight and I I need   them curved so I'm going to have to make a home  deeper run I don't think Home Depot's going to   have that I think this is no I think this is 100%  a specialty item all right well you're going to   have to jump online to wherever you get or maybe  e trailer check with our friends at e trailer   yeah well it's good you're finding this out now  yeah cuz this like we have no water right like   in the meantime no water like there's no water  period right always something okay so this job   has turned into like a a 3-day ordeal and that's  just you know sometimes how it goes with these   jobs so I ordered the elbow on Amazon and it  doesn't look like it's going to be here until   10:00 today so just so I can get this job done  today and move on with the other stuff that we   need to do I did call up a Giant RV World here  in Winter Garden they do have the part and so   I'm going to go grab that elbow they have two of  them and then that will allow me to finish up this   water pump install so crazy how you can almost  just double the amount of time that these jobs   take and it always ends up you know taking like 10  Home Depot trips to finish one little job can you relate Okay so really good news I did get the  parts so they're like three bucks $3.99 a piece   so these are the shlow elbows and looks like  they kind of self seal so we're not going to   let any air in any longer I'll get these home put  those on and the pump in theory should self Prime   and stop once it builds up enough pressure  it's finally time to get this job done today   well go figure it's raining hopefully it's not  raining by the time we get back to the Hideway   I need to get this job done it is raining but  I did find out there is actually one additional   benefit of having these older classes with the  basement compartments that come up versus That   Swing Out is you can work in the rain and it  doesn't affect you I've got a little shelter   here and it should shut off please shut off  shut you got this come on come on you got   this still air coming in somewhere oh on this  all right I might go run some water inside real quick okay so rookie mistake I I did not do  the thing I always say to do and it's always   look at the simple thing first I did the hard  things first so I'm like why does it keep going   it hasn't built up enough pressure well and that  is because there's no water in the tank there's   only a quarter of water in the tank so at that  point it's sucking up some air so I need to fill   the fresh tank first then it should pressurize so  let's go and put some water in and we'll see if it works all right let's throw a quick  connect on on this guy here too   these are the best gorilla [Music] guys she's full rule of thumb always turn  off bypass after you're done filling your   tank Moment of Truth and let some water through  here that out of the air out oh this is sounding   good it's blowing down don't forget to turn  this off will it stop come on come on you can   do it okay so the strange thing when I turn  on the pump it just sounds like there's air   in there the only way for to stop is to kind  of tap it a little bit on the top and it's a   little tap either stops it or starts it so I  think it might be a a faulty switch in there   I fumbled around with that long enough that  I'm going to try to put this SE flow pump in   it's only I mean not only it's three gallons per  minute which is decent I was hoping to put the 5   gallon per minute one in but I wanted to test to  see like is this a pump issue or is this really   like an issue with my lines you know having  air in them because the old pump was still working okay Moment of Truth all right will  it turn off okay so the issue was the pump so   I reached out to Comet static and let them  know hey I troubleshooted this I threw in   a different pump the other pump works and they  replied back they're going to go and send me a   different one so for now I am going to put in  this uh seaflow pump little bit smaller pump   there's no Airline leaks or anything like that  they all self-prime and shut off automatically   if it's not shutting off it's either a  problem with the pump if you do see air   coming in you know on the filter piece there  may be a you know line issue but there's no   line issues on our end and this shlow pump  is actually pretty quiet can hardly hear it oh yeah all right Tim finally got [Music] [Applause] it that's it no rubbing together all right all  right so we've got the daybed door that's a check   we've got Ben's little 12vt thing back here done  that's a check I'm going to show you that in just   a second we wanted to take a quick minute to think  the sponsor of this video release cleaner we have   been using release for cleaning around both The  glamper Hideaway and here in the RV for several   months now and we love how it gets the job done I  use it when we're cleaning our countertops after   cooking and it's great at cleaning up those  splatters and Spills but it's also great for   cleaning the RV's exterior too it's especially  great for removing those sticky bugs from the   front of the RV after a long travel day and it's  safe for use on all of the surfaces in and around   the RV now I love that it has zero smell so using  release leaves the RV fresh and clean without any   offensive odors which is really perfect for those  with sensitivity to smells and I love that the   product is coste effective too you know me I'm  very cheap a gallon of the concentrate makes   80 of these spray bottles at a cost of just over  a dollar a piece so we love using release and we   know you will to especially if you own an RV  a boat a car I mean this this is a necessity   to have you can visit grateful gamer.com SLR  and use the code grateful to save 10% off your   purchase with free shipping for orders over $75  or visit the link in the description below and a   huge thanks to relise for sponsoring this video  I personally turn the water pump on I wanted   to check this out I can still hear it it does  seem quieter but how about the pressure I feel   like the pressure is definitely better so that's  good it's definitely um like peace of mind that   we've got that done and again trying to be more  proactive versus reactive with a older water   pump let's go check out your little project in the  bedroom cuz I want to see this so this is really   cool back here I love what Ben did love what you  did Babe uh back here but so we've got this little   like this is you know a USB charging lock right  but instead of having this plugged in to like your   typical 110 this is like a 12vt adapter so Finn  basically used this little thing like a little   like what kind of like a little mini bus bar kind  of thing I guess yeah fuse block fuse block there   you go see technical terms but all of this is then  now wired directly to the batteries so instead   of having to use that extra energy off of the  inverter this is going to be especially great for   those times when we are either like boond docking  or lot docking or we're just not hooked up to an   auxiliary power source to be able to still charge  things and I like how he kind of hooked this up   here too cuz my little light up here which we've  talked about these like I love these I'm going to   actually get like a few more for the RV cuz I  love them because they're magnetic but they're   USB rechargeable so you can take them off use  them as like a flashlight to go to the bathroom   or whatever but so he's just got it hooked  into here so it's just kind of permanently   charging so I don't have to worry about like it  you know losing power or not I can zip tie it up   too so it's cleaner yeah and then we've got this  this is from our friends over at organized Obie   I love these nets so Ben put this in he got the  drill battery thing all mounted we just clean   this area up because you know me and organization  and so using the wall space adding the Shelf in   which we did a while back but it just makes this  more organized so we just have more available room   when we are out and about because I feel like  that it's really easy to start to fill up the   space when you're out so starting with something  where you have more space versus less space I   feel like is always handy so speaking of which  we've got a ton of super popular RV organization   hacks that people have told us that they are  loving and you're going to find that right up   here all right go ahead I don't know how to run  a camera that's a talk putting things over to 12   volt where it's coming straight from the battery  and not battery did I say battery battery battery
