Why Juan Pablo Is The Most Hated Bachelor in Franchise History (A Season Recap)

juan pablo the man who is widely regarded as the worst bachelor ever the difference between being honest and being honest like he doesn't okay fine that's how you see it okay and a season that has now produced two bachelorettes including our next lead claire crawley and you may be wondering what caused this guy who before the season started was actually a fan favorite to become so hated let's get it oh hold on do you know what that thing could do to you yeah it'll grind your bones for its bread well it wasn't just one moment it was a build up of a whole season so pull out those pinterest boards because the road to the most hated bachelor ever is not about the destination it's about the journey so like i said juan pablo was actually very popular in bachelor nation after his appearance on desiree season of the bachelorette i mean you'd have to be to land the lead role right a single dad and soccer player with smooth moves looking to find a mother for his daughter camilla and i gotta say i felt that the three hour bachelor goat special on this season was actually one that had a really tough time of capturing the feeling of the season i think it just wasn't something that could be done in this kind of format in three hours because some of the drama that happens in the end resonates so much more if you've watched the little details of how juan pablo interacted with the women throughout the season but we'll get there for now it's time to start juan pablo's journey which heading into the season there are a few moments that could be put into a ukringia lose video juan pablo i made you breakfast ew okay i'm already out but to really get into the drama and what made this season so infamous we're going to have to fast forward through some of the early stuff but if you want off point as charlene here is a major player in the season and could possibly be one of the reasons why things go so wrong later on in the show not because of something bad she does but because of something right she does leaving the show now juan pablo was really into charlene who is an opera singer from ottawa ontario canada and charlene fascinated juan pablo with her elegance because i think you're very elegant i will definitely want to get to know you better seriously but on her end things were never quite 100 with juan pablo charlene spends much of the season trying to see if there's actually a complete connection with jp but once it comes down to the final six she decides that she can't see a forever with juan pablo and decides to end things before hometowns and so charlene goes and juan pablo himself reveals unbelievable she was gonna have a hometown something that i wonder might be the root of some of the drama to come now at this point you might be going well juan pablo actually handled this well i don't want you to say i'm sorry because you're gonna be sorry for something that you feel and through the early parts of the season juan pablo is not out here being unlikable he goes on the usual bachelor dates and has the typical romances but it's once we get past hometowns where the season starts to fall apart and if you've never seen the season juan pablo's final four comes down to these women renee who is also a single parent andy a lawyer who you might recognize from her time as the bachelorette following this season nikki a pediatric nurse and of course claire crawley now renee is out at home towns and the real drama begins with juan pablo's fantasy suite date with andy which starts out fine i feel like on cloud nine right now i mean i just can't stop smiling however the happy mood doesn't last when we see andy the morning after waking up this morning i could not wait to get out of the fantasy suite so apparently when the cameras were gone and the two were alone andy saw sides of juan pablo that she didn't like and in the show she comments that it became apparent that juan pablo didn't really care about her and was only interested in himself so andy decides to sit down with juan pablo and talk about their night and tell him she's not in love with him and juan pablo responds very calmly it's okay and it's good that you tell me how you feel and if you don't think it's means it's okay which you might think is fine very mature even but this is where you really need to have seen the whole season not once did he really ask anything about me i learned plenty about him and all he wanted to do was kind of say it's okay and give me a kiss and this is a pretty accurate depiction of juan pablo as the lead because this sort of apathetic it's okay was a common thread throughout juan pablo's time here there's no nothing else to say but perfect okay now again not exactly the end of the world and juan pablo often talks about how english is his second language so his vocabulary limits him but here with andy is the real start of the turn first she asks him do you know anything about me my stance on social issues if i want kids what's important to me do you even know my religion and he says no i don't but as she continues to talk about how she needs someone to share her emotions with juan pablo comes up with an idea to get her back and he interrupts her work through those emotions with me and talk to me about those things what's my religion catholic not exactly the gotcha moment he was hoping for then andy talks about how much it hurt when he told her in the fantasy suite that she made it to the top three instead of renee by default default out of my mouth is hard because i don't have that word i say you barely made it ah ah much better and of course the conversation ends like this okay fine is that how you see it okay so alright again pretty bad but not the end of the world right and i also can't help but wonder if charlene had made it to hometowns would this you barely made it past renee scenario have actually even happened but anyways there's still more to come as we've now gone down to our final two and more specifically juan pablo's time with claire now claire was a strong contender from the start of course as she makes it to hometowns and fantasy suites she opens up to juan pablo about her feelings honestly honestly i'm just like loving falling in love with you also the bachelor goat special completely skips over the part where claire and juan pablo not as part of a date or anything head into the ocean for a swim one night probably this was done because the show heavily implies that the two have sex which claire states they never did according to claire that day she was celebrating coming to a time in her life where she was happy and had rid herself of horrible anxiety so she wanted to go for a swim to celebrate and production said sure but why not invite juan pablo afterwards juan pablo said he didn't like what happened because it wouldn't look good in front of his daughter claire said the whole thing felt like a kick in the stomach after what was supposed to be a celebratory moment but this isn't the big thing for claire this season that happens around a helicopter ride during her final two date juan pablo leaned over and whispered something to me he chose to tell me something that no woman wants to hear in a rare moment alone without crew or cameras on them claire took the opportunity to ask juan pablo how he was feeling about the upcoming final rose ceremony now claire in the show basically says he mentioned something sexual and that it hurt her but that's about it luckily today we have the actual quote with claire saying i was like it's coming up how are you feeling and he juan pablo goes i don't know i liked [ __ ] you which left claire confused and feeling off now later the two come back to a good place when they have a chat and juan pablo says this i know if i with you we're gonna have a baby in like a year and two months which from juan pablo's perspective was like if i fall in love with you we're gonna do this from claire's perspective however it seemed more like i can see myself having children with you and claire herself has spoken to the confusion of this bachelor bubble that she was in the fantasy of a life with juan pablo and being swept away to unbelievable dates it can distract you from reality and she's also stated that while the i liked effing you comment hurt another part of her was like if someone you're in love with turns to you and says i loved effing you you're gonna react like hell yeah you better so claire heads into the final rose ceremony still invested in a life with juan pablo until this happens i'll have to say goodbye to you the going in for the hug is truly the worst part so after all that claire is understandably upset so she proceeds to tell juan pablo off i thought i knew what kind of man you were okay what you just made me go through i would never want my children having a father like you okay and all through claire's speech juan pablo continues with those and those okays okay charlene didn't have the feelings for you it wasn't there okay so claire leaves brokenhearted to eventually go on to two seasons of paradise and a season of the bachelor winter games juan pablo however doesn't seem so upset i'm glad they didn't pick her which means there's one woman left nikki and if you're expecting a proposal don't get your hopes up i have a ring here in my pocket and i'm not gonna use it look at how nervous she seems like all through this speech it's unclear if he's picking her or if he's dumping her this is the face of truly mixed emotions i like you a lot a lot okay i just lost to the cringe challenge again so these two leave the show as boyfriend and girlfriend and while juan pablo is willing to say that he likes her a lot he's never quite willing to say the love word which makes for an even cringier time at the after the final rose where it's clear that nicki wants him to say it but juan pablo just won't so you love her i'm not gonna answer that question to you i don't i don't get it i don't get it and i don't think you need me to tell you that these two eventually break up now today a number of women have gone on to say that they don't hate juan pablo nor do they think he's a horrible person and my stance is this the guy just wasn't ready to be the lead he just wasn't he wasn't ready to really find a partner nor was he ready to actually be a partner and ultimately he just never should have been picked in the first place but alas he was and we ended up with the most disliked bachelor in franchise history so that's it for this video on juan
