and it was so exhausting and irritating I can't even explain it that pissed me off like I'm not going to lie that infuriated me don't even waste your time honestly because hey everyone welcome back to my channel for today's video I am sharing my story and my experience with the company lularoe as you could tell from the title the thumbnail I am no longer with the company and I really didn't have a very good experience with the company I do want to say first off though that this video is not gonna be like a bashing lularoe video I don't plan to say anything negative about the company or anything like really me and I'm just sharing my experience and how I feel about how things happen and their policies and procedures so just before we get started I just want to make that clear I'm not trying to bash the company even though I don't necessarily care for the company anymore that's not what this video is about the point of this video is really just to be informative to you other people who are either currently retailers and are thinking about leaving the company and just want to hear you know someone else's experience with that process or even for people who are thinking about signing up with little Roe but just kind of want to hear some other experiences or kind of hear what some of the risks could be and lastly before we get started I just wanted to say welcome if you are new hear from you guys and answer anything I can or hear about your own experiences with lularoe so the main point of this video is to just go over my experience and the process of leaving lularoe but I just wanted to go over really quickly how I got in jululu Row I had never heard of lularoe before and a friend of mine was talking to me one day and she said that she was going to start selling it and asked if I had ever heard of it and I told her no and once she started selling I immediately became obsessed with the leggings I thought they were so comfortable they were so cute they were so fun they were different and I really really liked them at that point though in the beginning I really didn't have any interest in selling it I didn't think it would be an option for me just didn't seem like something that I would want to do eventually I kind of started thinking that maybe this is something I would like to do I thought it might be something that I could do from home to bring in an income and so I started kind of thinking about doing it myself but I wasn't really sure how to come up with the funds to do it because it's not cheap so I did a lot of research I joined a Facebook group with my friends sponsor in the company where she would go live and she would talk about you know the process and what it means to be a retailer and what she do and all of that stuff and I really thought about it I really did like I really did take my time and I did do my research and I went into it with realistic expectations before I took the plunge so in April of 2017 I got the phone call that I was officially a retailer and I will just say if you're thinking about joining lularoe just know it's expensive I did what was considered like the lowest package of start-up inventory so that plus the extra inventory that my team recommended purchasing to launch along with the other startup expenses I needed like racks and hangers and business cards and envelopes and software for printing labels and all of that kind of stuff I was at $11,000 and we used a credit card that was in my husband's name but it was also in my mother-in-law's name so that was a little bit stressful having this writing on somebody else's credit as well which I don't recommend doing so I only lasted three months as a retailer with lularoe unofficially I had made the decision to stop after about three months so a couple factors played into this I was no longer enjoying it like I was the first couple weeks I mean I really only enjoyed it for the first like a month so I stopped enjoying it and no longer felt fun it felt like a huge chore we lived in a two-bedroom apartment and it just started to feel like clutter the inventory was just taking over our apartment and that was something that falls on me that I wish I would have thought about more prior to signing up like if we had had a home with an extra bedroom or basement it would have been different so again that's just something else you should be sure to take into consideration make sure you have the room make sure you have the room to grow because once you hit a point where you are successful or you are accumulating more inventory you're gonna need the space those were the main reasons along with I wasn't having great sales I would have open houses and nobody would come I would do live sales and nobody would watch the only way I ever sold anything was if I did album sales or outfit sales here's where I'm going to get into the process of going out of business with lularoe so at the time that I decided to quit they still had their policy in place of 100% buy back what this meant was that if you decided to leave the company they would give you back 100% of your remaining inventory plus they paid for your shipping to send everything back to them unfortunately for me I wasted too much time in net beginning of when I decided to leave and when they changed that policy so I kind of fought it a little bit to get grandfathered in to the 100% because what had happened was I was trying to sell as much inventory as I could to local retailers so that I didn't have as much just done back to lularoe and once I kind of got to a point where I didn't really have anything desirable left that nobody wanted I was ready to send the stuff back to little ro so I had sent an email letting them know that I was going to be leaving the company but the email address that I was told to send it to was not correct so it didn't get to the right person it didn't get to the right Department and I did not realize this for like three weeks and at this point it was too late and they had already changed their policy and they did not grandfather me in like I was trying to they didn't care that I had been given inaccurate information on who I was supposed to contact to cancel my contract they just didn't care they didn't believe my story whatever since I now had to pay my shipping and was shipping from Ohio to California it was going to cost me $400 and we just didn't have that we didn't have an extra $400 for me to ship this stuff back so I ended up not shipping anything back until January of 2018 I officially cancelled my contract in a September of 2017 but then did not actually send my inventory back until January of 2018 so they received the inventory and sent me my email of what they were willing to refund me On February 7 and if you're not aware what happens is when you send back your inventory they check it all and then they will send you back an email letting you know what they are going to be refunding you and the number that I had calculated and then the number the face that meat was off by less than $100 so I didn't care I didn't dispute that that was sign with me so then began the waiting game at this point most people were saying that they only waited two or three months to get their refund check which I thought was manageable I thought that was okay it made sense I was fine with that however three four five six months went by and I was still not hearing anything they are supposed to send you an email prior to your check going out to let you know that it is on its way and I checked my email multiple times a day every single day the entire time this took and it was so exhausting and irritating I can't even explain it one thing I want to share is that they will tell you to send an email if you're inquiring about your refund status they will tell you to send an email to cancellation status that lularoe calm don't even waste your time honestly because they don't tell you anything you get a generic email it says the same thing every single time that just says that the refunds are being processed in the order that they are received they will not give you any information directly related to your specific case there have been situations where women have been successful in calling lularoe directly if you're able to get in touch with somebody and not sit down hold all day where they have given them date that they're working on so for example back in July a woman wrote on a Facebook group that I was in that she had called and spoke to somebody and they told her that they were working on the first two weeks of January and this was the end of July so I got excited thinking my check would be coming soon because my date was the first week of February because just that's why I they will go off the date that they email you not the date that you send your inventory so just keep that in mind a lot of people freaked out on Facebook because they for example sent their inventory in in March let's say but didn't get their email back for like a month after that unfortunately for those people it's going off of the date you got your email I don't really know how they do it because I got my email within like six days some people wait a month some people wait a little over a month I don't really know that's kind of one of my issues with this company is I don't necessarily believe that they go in the order that they received but that's just me and that's just me speculating just from various things I've seen happen another reason that I don't necessarily believe that is because a woman that I spoke to on Facebook commented and said that her date of her email was about 11 days after mine but she got her check in July hmm that pissed me off like I'm not going to lie that infuriated me when I heard that so at this point it was October by the way so I was fed up I was like you know what I've had enough so I sent them an email doing the same thing that this woman had done back in July and I said hello I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau I've also consulted my cousin who's a lawyer which is true I do have a cousin who's a lawyer so this woman had done something very similar and found out the next day that her check was being sent out so that's why I went that same route to see if I could finally get any success because like just think about that for a second they claim that they go on the order but they are received but this woman's date was 11 days after mine and she got her check in July and here we were in October that's not okay it's just not okay so I sent my saying something very similar to what she had said and what had worked for her and I got an email two days later telling me that my check was being issued now initially I of course thought that it was because of my email but then I started hearing other women whose dates were in the same week as me we're getting their checks as well so it really just ended up being coincidental but it did help that other woman obviously so that is one of the other reasons that I don't believe them when they say they're going in order I don't believe them when they give out a date that they're working on I just don't buy it I don't think it's accurate and I think they just say those things to shut people up again that is just me speculating that's just my opinion I don't know I'm not trying to bash the company that's just how I have perceived things in my experience so all in all it took eight months and two days for me to finally get my refund never thought it was gonna take that long the thing that concerns me is the Facebook group that I was in I had seen women commenting that they had been waiting even longer than me like nine and ten months like that they their email was from December feels good to finally put this video out there because I've been wanting to share my story in my experience but like I said I wanted to wait until I was completely done because I didn't want to risk someone from lularoe seeing my video or something and you know somehow using it against me to prolong my refund or something like that so I'm really glad I'm finally able to put this out there I hope this video flowed alright because I'm not going to lie I have filmed it this is now the fourth time so I just feel like I get off-track or I get out of order and so I've filmed this and deleted it three other times so this is it so hopefully hopefully you guys follow and hopefully I was able to share enough insight with you to hopefully help somebody that's either considering joining Lauro or that is considering quitting I do just want to end by saying I will no longer be a customer of lularoe I have had far too many items damaged after just a short amount of time for example I have to sheer surely like cover-ups that have both ripped in the exact same spot on each of them like right here I've had countless pairs of leggings get holes in them and I can't wear them anymore and I've had to throw them away so okay camera battery died so hopefully the lighting is still okay I was just saying that from a customer standpoint I've also cut all ties with lularoe I've left every facebook group I was in everything I am still wearing their clothes but it became a big part of my wardrobe and I can't just let him buy a whole new wardrobe so I am still wearing what I have and what I can wear but I will never buy another piece of clothing again I just don't like the quality so that's really all I have to say for
