Why I hate tiktok (RANT)

how's it going everybody my name is orange peanut and on today's episode of orange peanut complains about things we are going to be talking about something very near and not dear to my heart tick tock now as you all know i have one and i post occasionally my gripes with this app is not with the posting it's the people on it and the things it promotes so for the next five or so minutes you're gonna hear me complain about the atrocities that are on this app because it could be something good but it is not so let's get into it number one stolen content now you'd think the key to getting big on tick tock or really any social media is original well thought out good crafted posts you look at what's popular and then you directly copy what's popular the way i figured this out was you guys remember my wnba nba person i've talked about like three posts rate but essentially i posted that on tick tock it did well got like 25 000 likes blew up all that but then a bunch of my friends start sending me time after time after time of random people who literally put their head away from the camera put that picture up and then put music music over it and nothing else i saw that at least like 10 times of people copying it and those people got more likes than i did not only does mine get overshadowed when i was the one who did it people do better and this is not an uncommon thing if you've ever seen like a popular video and then you go to like use this sound there's like a hundred people who did the same exact video and all got like a million views off of it it really irks me that on a social media site the things that blow up are not original stuff it's literally just people stealing word for word exactly what other people did it's it is atrocious number two another thing that goes viral on tiktok instead of the well thought original post is half naked women going like this for 10 seconds that's literally it you just you you turn on that corvette corvette bs song and then you just take off your clothes and do that and listen i am not blaming the women for posting that kind of stuff if you see a business opportunity to get famous do it but my the issue arises when the app is consistently never endingly promoting it you know it's not like the women post it and then you know it just trails off because the app doesn't want doesn't want that stuff it literally that's what you see in all of the for you pages all of the viral videos like 10 million likes for a girl just standing there going like this for 10 seconds because she's in a thong it is atrocious like if you want to watch that kind of stuff there are many many many many many specific websites that you can do for that number three this is kind of tallying on with my last point it's a lot of those half-naked women are underage so not only is it immoral that they're promoting that kind of stuff it is illegal because tick-tock is very aware that their most of their population is young people and they just don't care that that's the kind of thing that's going around you know it would be one thing if they couldn't police all of that that's going around but they're literally promoting it everything literally if you remember a year ago like whenever the tick tock ads would pop up on like the mobile games it was like 16 year olds going like this guys and girls so the fact that they're exploiting kids just to like grow their app and all that stuff is just absolutely atrocious and something about that just does not sit right with me you guys know i'm a pretty laid back guy but stuff like that it just really irks me to my bones and this is something i and my next point is something i learned literally the other day because i'm an old man and i don't pay attention to tick-tock stuff but there are two polarizing communities on tik-tok which really kind of annoys me so apparently they call it straight tick-tock and gay tick-tock and gay tick-tock is like the siskis and i oop blm girls you know like that meme not me being goofy i you know and then there's straight tick-tock which is either guys saying women are objects or women presenting themselves as objects so it's really just these two communities of people and you got to choose which one you're in i don't want to choose to be in one of these these both suck i want to be like in the middle and there's really none of that so yeah it really irks me that there's really only two communities on tick tock and both of them are atrocious okay so how can we fix this more importantly how can i fix this i thought this up literally as i was recording this video because i didn't have a solution but i have a solution that's going to fix a vast majority of these problems and what's it called oppression basically anyone under the age of 18 can't post publicly you can post privately which means all your friends are still going to see your terrible posts but if you're under 18 which is really where the problems have been arising like a lot of these like polarizing stuff the stolen memes all that stuff is like by 16 year olds stuck in their house with nothing to do so if we can like not let people under 18 control tick tock then i think it can be a lot better place so private accounts for people under 18. over 18 at that point is kind of just like if you're if you're a terrible person that it is what it is but yeah and am i under 18 too yeah i'm under 18 too and i can accept not being able to post for the next eight months just to save the liberties of the app so tick-tock industries if you're listening to this just know i am your guy i can fix everything just you know promote me to co-ceo and we can talk about it we can uh fix all of your issues because your app is really problematic and i i want to help it so if you guys have any alternative solutions i would love to hear them but as of right now that's going to do it for what i have to fix tick-tock let me know what you think um if
