so he was telling us about he was telling us this story about this woman who had come down to the altar and he and some of the other people that were working the altar overheard this woman praying lord make me a lady make me a lady well when he said that of course all of us in the audience you know in the congregation we were like you know and because again remember this was a different time you know we couldn't have even conceived a black president hip you know let alone that it would become a law that in our nation men and men could marry women when they can marry so it was just different so of course it was shocking to us to hear this and then he said they you know of course inquire what's going on you know good they thought it was a lady and come to find out it was a man and it was a man who had come down to the altar dressed as a woman and he was asking God to make him a lady then he said this and I am quoting it exactly I remember because yesterday I left he said quote see the Bible doesn't have answers for the stuff we're dealing with today close quote unquote and you know a lot of people clapped I can't say all people clap because I know I didn't clap and now after that he went on talking about some other stuff he never told us how that story ended so I don't know you know how what they told this man but listen if you're listening to me and you say oh thanks girl that would nothing then I already know you're not thinking yes it is that's deep that's heavy so let me kind of explain to you the things that went through my mind as I was sitting there and of course later on as well first of all my pastor who preaches and is leading a congregation of at that time thirty thousand plus people at that time we had gone to three services it was so many of us he is teaching and preaching from the Bible and he is saying to us see the Bible doesn't have answers for the stuff we're dealing with today do you hear that do you know the what that means so when he said stuff that means what he just told us about which was this man coming to the altar asking God to make him a lady and of course other things now he didn't tell us what these other thing he just said the Bible didn't have answers for this stuff so listen first of all the Bible does have answers for number one that situation see what we tell a brother in situation like that and in the most loving way we can we can help him get off his knees and we let him know listen you know we can't pray that for you and that's not something that you should be praying the Bible is very clear about that God made male and female and the Bible there are many scriptures that help give us to help us know what's proper activity for men and women and was improper activity so now brother we can help you pray that and that's not something you should pray now what we can do is we can help you get some counseling to help you figure out what's going on with you but God has made you a man now remember this was this you know God has made you a man so you're gonna have to come to terms with that in some way shape or form so but we'll help you get some counseling so you can kind of work through this and figure out what's going on here but that's not something we can pray pray with you and ask God to do because guys not gonna do that okay see there that was there's the Bible had a book who answers for that situation but my pastor said he did I see I listen up until that point I can honestly say that I had never heard my pastor say anything that was unscriptural now that doesn't mean he didn't what that means is that I it's very possible that you know up to that point that he had said something that was unscriptural but because I didn't know enough about the Bible I couldn't couldn't wait it and say well wait a minute that's not scriptural see I didn't know but see at that point I had grown enough thanks to that ministry that I knew that was unscriptural and then what that also means is the there are other things that my pastor thinks the Bible doesn't have answers for because he said stuff you cannot trust nor should you put your spiritual well-being in the hands of a pastor who says the Bible the very Bible he's made millions off of the very Bible that made him at that point a household name and in the black church anyway and the white church because we had everybody you could think of wanted to come preach at that time at the potter's house indeed because as you heard me say I mean listen a lot of people you know now they came through there so - it's it's it's dangerous to sit up under a pastor's sitting there telling you the Bible doesn't have answers for the things - for the stuff I gotta said exactly the way he said the stuff we're dealing with today so listen I can tell you I said there I was actually shocked I like I said never heard him say anything that was so ridiculous and so evil and wrong see that's wrong okay especially in that situation so either you don't believe the Bible are you you know something else going on here so I sat there for a while and I don't can't tell you how long but I I made my decision I kissed I can't now that I've heard this I cannot in good conscience stay here so I got up and left and I never came back I never went back for anything nothing ever and to this day I don't listen to anything that he preaches I don't listen to anything because he I know at least at that time this man said that the Bible did not have answers for the stuff that we were dealing with today when I knew that was a blatant lie it was not scriptural and see I have no idea of what else my pastor thought that the Bible didn't have answers for now for those of you who may be saying well yeah couldn't you have gone to talk listen there are some things when you hear people say them you don't need to talk to them about it there's nothing to talk about see that's you trying to avoid making a decision that would be if it were mean that will be me trying to make an incision no you get up and you get out when you hear something unscriptural being taught or said at your church you have an obligation for your own spiritual well-being and help health to get out of there because if one thing's taught this unscriptural trust me or there will be other things so I left and I never went back and I never had any second thought about it and that's not something that you even need to pray about seeing a situation like that it would have been wrong for me to pray God what should i do should I stay here no God has told me the Bible says God exalted his word which is the Bible above his name yet my pastor say the Bible the Word of God doesn't have answers for this stuff we're dealing with today I don't need to pray about that one brother or sister honey you get up and you leave see it's real see sometimes we want to delay decisions because the true and we're saying well we're waiting on God to tell them tell us what we need to do here we'll see there is something that are cut and dry you just need to make a decision that's not gonna make the decision for you can't put stuff off on guy that you need to do now of course there are always decisions that we need to pray about because there are clearly times when we don't know which way to turn but there are some things when the facts are laid out before you you need to make a decision and you will find that you won't hear God say anything to you cos God's waiting on you to make the decision to see I got up and left now see by that time I don't know multiple scandals had happen but again I can say that you know you know it wasn't something that at that time I wasn't I didn't leave over those things but because I personally I can say I had up into that point I never really personally had any negative experiences I love that church I love that ministry I can say that before the money and stuff started happening that Bishop Jake's taught and he taught very well and he I can honestly say from the times I met him and his wife behind the scenes I could see that they loved God and they loved God's people now I don't know what happened all I can tell you is that when the money and the fame and the notoriety came but teaching even changed and of course he was traveling a lot so he was rarely there what's his name he's no know if he's no longer there because I'm last time nouméa gotten caught up in a scandal and cheat on his wife and he left oh what's his name he was up at me hmm I can see his face but I cannot remember his name hmm anyway he was over thee when when the Potters know I was gone by the time the Potter's House spread out into and having all the locations like in Allen Texas and Fort Worth Texas see those things were not anything that hadn't happened but this this gentleman I'm thinking of he when they started the Fort Worth campus of The Potter's House Fort Worth he was the pastor well like I said he got caught up in a scandal of cheating and you know he divorced his wife but he had been with for years okay I know when I before I left read of twigs was still there I I think I heard something went on there I don't know but it from what I heard they kind of got rid of her I mean you know just a lot of things you know beginning to happen when I was when I was when I was gone because you know of course I still had some friends that were still there they would tell me different things but as far as me I know no so that was that's why I left the church I could not trust my pastor to teach me what was right when I after I heard him say that and if you hurt your pastors say that you you should leave yeah you should leave so let's talk about that what situations happen where you should leave a church where that you love that you're that you know maybe you know well it's real simple it's very very simple when you have a pastor who's living a life of sin and he will not rectify that you need to leave okay see we can't say that it's okay for people who are leading people to live lives of sin it's not okay for any of us but if you're leading people and you're supposed to be pastoring people you can't do that you can't lead a congregation or a flock when you're sick see we got to get you to sit down and get somebody up they can also if someone if your pastor says something blatantly unscriptural like what my pastor said at that time again you get up and you leave you don't need to pray you don't need to go get counseling you leave see quit trying to put the decisions off on stuff on other folks I'm gonna go get counseling for what or somebody done said they don't believe the Bible has answers where the stuff we're dealing with that's very clear that's cut and dry you know other things you know of course if you find out your pastors been stealing money from the church you yeah you can listen and all these situations we still pray for these people listen it's like this I love you but that doesn't have to stay merit to you because you're not going upside my head and you're cheating on me I love you but I love you enough and I love me enough to walk away and you still pray for people so listen I left the church I didn't have not one I wasn't angry about anything there was nothing to be angry about I wasn't I was hurt but it wasn't because somebody did something to me so wasn't that kind of hurt I was hurt because I was disappointed because I have faith in TD jakes and I felt like I just couldn't believe he said that I could see sometimes your pastor lets you know what he or she really thinks and what they really believe and when you hear it you have to accept it as truth even though it hurts see it hurt me to hear that because I knew wait a minute then what where are the answers if we can't find them in the Bible not to mention you've written books you've do conferences all based on the Bible but yeah you evidently don't believe all of it now especially a situation like that it's very clear what the Bible would say on something like that we ain't got no bed still nobody but Bible own have answers for that stuff we may not want to tell them the answer but we got a talent like if it were me somebody should if it were me down there if I was down there praying God make me a man somebody hopefully would love me and love the word enough to come to me and say sister let me let me tell you some things let me share some things with you so listen we're not condemning or judging anybody we don't know what happened with this person or we don't know what happens in people's lives that get them to the place where they become confused but what we do know is the Bible if we believe the Bible we know that the Bible has answers we just either accept those answers are known accept them we either believe them or don't believe so that's what happened yeah and you know what um you know after I left again just I you know people would tell me different things that were going on I was like wow and of course when I left I talked to my mentors I talked to my friends who had left before me see when those people left I knew why they were leaving because they you know some of them had grievances I didn't have any grievances and I'm like this I don't follow the crowd follow the crowd I think for myself so just because the people I loved at different points have already left that church I still stayed because I nothing that happened to me I'm still brewing I'm still this that in something else you know but when I talked to my mentor one of the things she told me she said you know I had to leave because I just couldn't take how commercial it at because listen when I tell you guys everything was happy come about money I mean everything everything and you know you know that's kind of the way it went but anyway so that's my story very personal I don't mean this in a negative way I think I'm gonna make this a part of I do now that I think about it so I'll talk to you guys later have a great day
