Why 'Extreme Makeover' Contest Winner Got Evicted From Dream Home

[Music] it was one of the greatest days in her life Arlene necklaces home was completely transformed on ABC's Extreme Makeover Home Edition back in 2008 now nine years later her dream home has become a nightmare we've been evicted we were there as she scrambled to pack up furniture and personal belongings out of the 3200 square foot house in Holt Michigan a moving van was parked out front as the family scrambles to gather all that they can the sheriff could show up at any moment right now and we would have to leave whatever's left behind and unfortunately I haven't even had a chance to go through everything Arlene and her family were chosen for the extreme makeover TV show after her husband Tim a critical care nurse died of hepatitis C she struggled to raise their three children after hearing her story Ty Pennington and his design team showed up hundreds of neighbors all pitched in to help it was an answer to a prayer absolutely 100% she says she was able to afford the $30,000 mortgage but over the years property taxes tripled it just took you know a few unexpected emergencies I got behind and I reached out and tried to work with the mortgage company and my efforts were just kind of shoved under the carpet the next thing she knew an eviction notice came in the mail I asked the judge if there was anything that could stop this and he said no and I said not even health reasons nothing and he said no I have to go her sons were still young when their home was transformed into a wonderland today they are pitching in to salvage what they can before the final eviction taking down drapes moving out beds and tables prized possessions like their dad's airplane models and a lego model of their dream home our lien is overcome with emotion I don't know where we're gonna go we're gonna end up neighbors who supported her on that happy day nine years ago are stunned by the eviction it's not fair at all I mean her heart is broken and everything first she loses their husband now she's losing her house I think the whole situation is sad really yeah it's sad her bedroom is empty this is my special box everything must go even photos of her late husband he had gotten me this be it was our last Valentine's Day together the once beautiful home is now nearly empty the movie truck is full they can take away the house but they won't take away the memories [Music] you [Music]
