Why Every New Macbook Needs A Different Goddamn Charger

I have a personal 2015 MBP that I used as my primary machine when I was a contractor up until January last year.

I started a full-time job in April, and was issued a brand new MBP.

Aside from the bigger screen (15 as opposed to 13) the new laptop is a piece of shit in comparison. Almost everything about it feels like it was done worse, even the new things like TouchID feel inconsistent and buggy.

Not sure what I'm going to do if/when my personal machine gives up the ghost. I don't specifically need a Mac anymore so maybe I'll go back to a PC.

Why must they change things on computers? Cos otherwise you would be using a tickertape machine that takes a month to work out 20 x 2 and occupies a space the size of a small warehouse. It drives me mad hearing people complain about things progressing. Apple have changed their chargers relatively infrequently compared to other manufacturers, MagSafe were standard for some time, and now USB C, and they come with the charger. I’ve got a drawer full of old HP power blocks for laptops and they are all different. I’m actually finding that with the modern MacBooks I don’t even need the chargers provided because I have a fair few USB C power blocks around, and can even charge it off my external monitor.

Lol. The Macbook Pro I use for work is nothing but USB-C all over. It's really clean looking. Until I need to use the adapter for literally anything USB related. So it's very pretty laptop with an appendix hanging out.
