Why Boba Fett CLEANED His Armor Now but Not in Original Trilogy! - Star Wars Explained

as if we did not have enough to talk about with the newest mandalorian episode disney went on and released all their plans for future star wars projects but today we're going to talk about boba fett more specifically than anybody else of course expect throughout the week for me to discuss a lot of other projects that were announced especially obi-wan series and bad batch those two are my primary focus in today's video we're gonna talk about why boba fett elected to wait so long for him to refurbish his armor why in the original trilogy when he was the baddest man in the galaxy known throughout he was not keen in cleaning his armor but now in the mandalorian when virtually everybody thinks he is dead he has risen back and is sporting a new look we've talked a lot about the mandalorian series in season two especially and how i think that this show has become more effective with fan service rather than season one the general audience might have enjoyed season one more than season two because season two is filled with references easter eggs and even characters that a small time star wars fan might not really know if he or she has not watched the rebel series the clone wars and even some comics but for audience members who watch the original trilogy boba fett is a breath of fresh air everybody recognizes the iconic bounty hunter the unfortunate truth about episode 7 that released yesterday chapter 15 the believer is actually even though we got to see a whole new boba fett with a new armor he virtually got no action in that episode which was a pity and a waste but i think he's gonna make up for it a lot in the finale which is coming in a week's time the episode instead focused on ding jaron and mig's mayfeld successfully extracting the location of maf gideon from the imperial refinery you see we need to talk about boba fett's armor because boba fett's armor is unmistakably one of the biggest reasons that the character of boba fett became so popular even though we love his antics and his adventures he ultimately just as darth vader he is recognizable instantly with that armor he was first introduced as an animated character in the star wars holiday special but the armor wasn't all there the helmet was but the armor was not still put together the first time we see boba fett in live action is in the movie the empire strikes back there he was quiet he had a mysterious demeanor and when combined with his unique looking armor and the fact that vader hired him as a bounty hunter this instantly made all fans want to know more about this dark and mysterious figure in previous times all we got to see from him is in the movies where transports han solo he fights luke skywalker in return to the jedi but mostly he was involved in the comics as well he even once fought darth vader on the volcanic planet of marrix miner for me there are two reasons why boba fett did not clean his armor in the original trilogy but did so in the mandalorian series in yesterday's episode so these two reasons are as follows number one is that back in the day when he was this popular bounty hunter and everybody feared him this gritty look to his armor was a sign of respect it was a sign of wear and tear this is why people feared him in a way his armor represented every battle every fight and every struggle he went through every bounty he acquired and even though his armor was all scratched up and gritty looking he is still standing on his two feet this gives his enemies the indication that he is not a bounty hunter to be messed with because nobody has been able to take him down to this day and his scratched up armor tells his enemies that he did not get his bounties lightly he grinded for everything that he got and the position he is today basically the biggest henchman for jabba the hutt and the biggest client for the empire especially darth vader and the second reason and i think this is the more prudent one or it could be a combination of both but the second reason for me is that you cannot appreciate something until it is gone boba fett first off thought he was done with his own life once he fell into the sarlacc it was basically over for him but as he said destiny sometimes has different plans for you and once he came back to life in quotations him not having his armor and being separated from it for a long time around five years with boba fett was without his armor this tells you that he grew weary he did not have the advantage he did with his armor being attached to something your entire life and not having it all of a sudden this will definitely make you aware of how much you love something now that is gone and once his armor was ripped out of his hands all of a sudden now he realized the true value i mean you can imagine how he felt the first time he wore that armor after so many years when he battled the empire on tithe on he was reinvigorated and filled with a new found respect for life and for his culture his armor these are i think the two main reasons and again it could be a combination of both why boba fett elected it to refurbish his armor now rather than in the original trilogy now i saw a lot of other speculation out there so it is important to mention the fans opinion as well which which for some is that boba fett was a very busy man throughout his life despite no doubt having an insane amount of credits and resources behind him through completing his bounties it is a period of boba fett's life that we saw him essentially serving everybody from job of the hut to join the vader constantly but when we see him in the mandalorian he is all alone on tatooine wearing tuscan raider clothing and weaponry this this gives us the indication that he lived as a nomad for so long and he has nothing but time on his hands which would make sense now that he has the time and joining the mandalorian to save the child he would have the time and the patience to go and refurbish his armor something that he has not done for a long time and perhaps felt guilty about you gotta imagine that in his head jango fett speaks to him a lot and django wore a pristine armor always so it might be that in his head in boba's head he was thinking that if django is here he would be disappointed with the state of my armor so whatever the reason is it looks beautiful and gorgeous and i can't wait
