hour two overdrive continues brought to you by FanDuel bringing you everything from the opening line to the final score Brian Hayes the oog Jeff O'Neal Jamie noodles mclennon TSN 1050 the TSN app your hom smart speaker now up on TSN 2 get the NFL draft tonight couple of NHL games NBA playoffs Jays down in Kansas City um and the Leafs are coming off a loss last night and our buddy Ray Ferrar will join us here in a few moments Ray was uh between the benches last night for ESPN so got a chance to see game two I believe in Boston and game three last night in Toronto and I'm thinking Jim Montgomery is a little bit happier kind of cruising around Toronto today after a win last night right yeah is it's so bad Jimmy the sun shining you got a w like what's up beautiful get down to St Lawrence Market or you know up to Yorkville or something like that hit Kensington Queen West we'll find things to do for you Jim whatever you need wow you know I find the coaching B like the back and forth band like I get it it's gamesmanship but like it's so it seems silly to me it's like oh you know you know DOI doing that to swayan were in their head and it's just no you're I don't get it well but Sheldon followed it up today saying you know Marian could do like it it's gamesmanship this is what it is like I just we we talked about it yesterday it was such a weird comment by mg Montgomery to go yeah two days off like we we have home ice like why are we spending more time like it just talk to the TV people talk to the you knew two weeks ago the playoff schedule was set yeah it just that was him you know talking about something it just it seems like you're always you trying to Advocate or make an excuse or do something like coaches that's what they do in the playoffs it's it's politicians you're you're constantly politicking for a call or a non-all or this player to be watched more you know like all of that type of and here's the funny thing they're doing it in the media because everyone read it they're also doing it behind the scenes like you said Brad tree living's probably been burning up the phones to the league going watch this watch that and same VI Don sweene is probably doing the same thing hey watch this guy watch that guy you know like it that's you know basically the reason why you know you have these like you develop these you know rivalries because they they get matter and matter as the series goes on yeah and it's starting to brew and I I'm sure the leas were unhappy last night I'm sure they were happy that no no call mavo and Matthews no whistle at a minimum Maran amberi they should be even the Taris call you know he he grabs makoy at the end makoy Dives but his stick was being held like he had a legitimate beef his stick was being held and that's a call that again they didn't call makoy on it 200 feet from that position earlier in the game why would you call it with the game on the line now the whistle comes out so I understand why the Leisa would be upset but at the end of the day it's over and you know they're they're going to be asked about it today they'll be asked about it tomorrow they'll be asked about it on Saturday is marshan in your head is swan in your head and whatever they say is irrelevant it's actions are going to speak louder than words and if they get into game four on Saturday and they're thinking we got to go at marand or we got to do this that or the other you're playing into his hands he wants you to do that he's dying for the leaves to come out and say we got to hit them and slash them and because he'll just keep doing the same thing he's been doing like that's a guy you got to let him sleep like I I honestly if you get a clean hit on him hit him other than that don't even engage yeah it's almost like that more contact like you talk about contact on a guy all you got to get your bumps it's almost like obviously you don't want to give him too much time and space and you want to punish him when you can but the extra curricular stuff it almost like backfires if you yeah you know you want to get into yeah the face yeah it like charges him up and makes him I don't know he just does what he does and one thing that Sheldon Keef did say that I agree with he's an expert at it like yeah he is an expert antagonist SL star player he's always prepared too if you watch the goal the empty net goal he braces for contact right after he's waiting and he's got his stick ready to to basically Slew Foot somebody I can't remember who it was that went at him but if we show the empty y cro yarn croak went watch this up on TSN 2 he scores and and Marian is waiting for him and he braces and he's like no okay I'll keep going like he knows it's coming well he thought somebody would run him like that at that point that remember shley was it shley that uh uh against Evans remember Evans scored the empty net Winnipeg andley just ran him through the boards like he got suspended on but I like Marian you know he gets tied up with with berzi ends up you know submarining him throwing him over his body gets up jams it in the net and I think he's bracing for Yar cro to cross check him or slash him or run him I don't know you guys can disagree I think bradar sh people think that he's just this dummy that runs around no no I think that there's calculated decisions on how much juice there is on the bench how much energy there is what's needed like offense is it to punch somebody in the head is it to do you know what I mean like there's a bunch of things floating around up in his Dome where it's like I got to calculate kind of what's needed and I'm going to go out and execute and that's what a part of his Brilliance yeah exactly and like the captain now he learned from Chara from berson well I mean he was their their counterpart it wasn't like he was some kid four or five years ago this guy's 35 years old he's been in the league for a long time and that's what's frustrating if you're a leaf fan is you've been watching him do this for years including during the regular season I was in the building he scored the OT winner you know it just he's constantly in it and last night he was in on basically everything and now he's going by the bench it sounded like he was saying something to the Leaf bench after the after the empty net sounded and looked like he was saying something and you know I'm sure he won't reveal it publicly but maybe our next guest knows what he was saying because he was standing right there here he is from ESPN our good buddy Ray Ferraro joining us here the maple toy hotline did you catch any of what Marian was was barking about when he scored the empty net last night you know what I didn't um they're like honestly sometimes if the guy isn't right in front of you you're down there you can't hear but there's lots between the benches all game like in this series I don't know like there was a you know I've done I'm doing two series or I have been the Washington Rangers in Toronto and Boston there's like all kinds of bark and it's usually the same characters it's maroon and it's uh Reeves and uh for in the other series it's everybody and rempy like that kid just stands there and he's like a like a magnet like they just they keep going after this kid all the time and like there's lots of you know lots of BS that goes on there but none of it really means anything I'm marshan really wasn't involved much in it other than his play like in the in the barking he did go by the bench I don't know if he really said much at that point you can say anything you want because you've just you know come through big again in another big moment in the same building that you've done it in for years yeah well I mean he was so good last night and he's been doing it forever Ray and I'm sure you've got a great appreciation for him if you're a Lea fan you hate on him if you're a Bruins fan you love them but you're objective you're just there watching you always say it doesn't you know you don't you're not rooting for anyone you have no impact on how the game's going to play out when you consider how long he's been doing it and you know the the back and forth with berzi all night he sets up the de bruss goal he scores to himself including the one that quieted the whole building down right after they had tied it up what uh like was he the guy for you Marian last night yeah for sure but but here's the thing like and I thought this from I thought it in the first game of the series for sure was that the Leafs were really trying to like prove their point about you know we are different we are tougher we are bigger we can hang in there and then they took a bunch of bad penalties and they lost and then the the next game you know they take only two penalties but both of them were really bad penalties like the mcab penalty and the bruzi slash like that could have cost them the game uh when he slashed marshand I mean it's 2-1 or 3-2 rather and the penalty kill came up huge for them it's like you don't you're not going to bug them you're not going to like you're was ing energy trying to be him like he does it without trying like it's no effort for him to be a pain in the ass right and he does it all the time because he's really a he's really good at it and B more importantly he's a terrific hockey player and so if you're spending your time worrying about him then you end up you've taken your eye off the ball and I I find that a little bit like the the play where he should have got a penalty in the middle of the ice with bruzi right at at some point they should should have probably just called them both before marshan pulled his feet out like they were slashing and punching each other all the way up the ice and if that's how you're the game is Bru's got a choice either like be involved with it or just skate away and because you're not going to take him out of the game at this point he's already taken himself out of enough games over the early part of his career he's too experienced it's really unlikely that you're going to get him on you're going to get him to do something stupid like it it just to me it seems unlikely he's what is he now 35 yeah right yeah he's like he's been through every Rodeo a 100 times he knows where the line is he gets up to it and then he backs away from it and now everybody hates him and everybody wants to punch him in the face and he goes and scores a couple goals and sets up the gamewinner Ray you talk crazy it's crazy to me anyway I mean it's easy for me to watch and see that but you're like when you're in it you guys know you get all wrapped up in it right like you're all I hate that guy and it seems easy you should just kind of just not get involved but man he's the best at it right now yeah he is an expert at it as Sheldon Keith pointed out and you you talked about scoring goals and even on that play So goal tending what do you make of you know Samson off that goal was a a crippling goal you know the building's rocking it's one nothing and you know everyone's focused on you know marshan and and berzi going at it and Frederick comes down and flicks one from the the boards and it goes in yeah I can't go in right like that's that's not a that's not one that that he can give up and the problem that he has and by extension the lease is he's always going to be the second best goalie in this series right you just can't hopefully allow yourself to give up the goal that hurts your team like if he plays just like he was terrific in Boston in game two I thought he would I thought he did a really good job and last night like the the de Brusque you know Jamie you'd be able to talk more about this but he loses you know Riley knocks his stick out of his hand for whatever reason goalie seemed completely discombobulated when they don't have their stick and maybe he went down a little early but the shot was perfect that went up over his shoulder right the the Maran shot but the Frederick goal can't go in and that's really if if they get through a couple of minutes there maybe they settle into a I don't know a good pace of game something they're comfortable with but all of a sudden you've you've got the lead now you don't it's gone yeah and at the other end they don't look like they're going to get much by swayan like he he looks looked fantastic again last night Ray you've been between the benches and watched some Marner magic over the years from what you saw last night and other parts of this series what is the difference of Marner magic regular season to what you saw last night um it it seemed his game seemed I'm going to compare him to uh Elias patteron in in Vancouver right now like there's a similarity in those two players in their their instincts for the game their you know what they see is really among their greatest strengths and they both look like they're picking their way around the ice like they're thinking their way around the ice it's like a wait and see type of thing it's like oh maybe the Puck's over there maybe I can get it here it's just it's crazy that they would game and we know that if you think out there you're going to be slow just react trust your read trust yourself like I did didn't I thought that was a like it was really methodical like it didn't look there was no free flow to it and I'm not talking about dangling through his feet but there was no free flow to his game it looked slow and you know slow is not you got to be the fastest player it's like we all know the energy when he gets the puck and he carries it and he moves it and he gets it back like we know that energy like you can see it you don't have to really describe it there was very little of that in this series really not just last night and so it it's either they've got him smothered you know like there's no room they've got him bothered like he's thinking too much because he's not sure where all the traffic's coming from and it's um without nander um it's it's not enough from him like he's for for certain players they can't make a difference clearly he can and needs to and if he doesn't they're they're at a disadvantage I I thought last night was uh I was surprised last night cuz I I kind of expected back home that he would have a little extra gear and it just it just didn't happen no I I thought he really struggled he made that one you know beautiful play to Matthew NES and a couple of other ones scattered but what I noticed even on the power play was the Bruins were attacking him and I have to pressuring yes pressuring and I I have to believe that's Montgomery saying this guy he's jittery right now he's not feeling to attack him because I just don't believe they would do that in November because he would have exposed it like you you well and here's here's the other thing with the leaf power play like um that that I'm noticing anyway because they don't have the big shooter on the point right they're they play the their penalty Killers can spread out a little bit uh at the top like they don't necessarily have to worry that Riley's going to shoot a one-timer so they spread out a bit they play a little wider on the elbows of it so that makes it harder to shoot it and to have more time but it also takes away that cross seam pass because those guy the penalty killers are already wider out there right and it you so that's a you know that's something they don't have and it's not like it's new it's not like all of a sudden you know they they don't have a a power play shooter CU they don't you know Riley doesn't that's not what he does and so I I just think that's an adjustment Boston's made with their penalty kill and I don't I don't remember the numbers right now but they've they've not allowed Toronto anything on the power play really most of the Season no no they're I mean they're one for 11 in the series the leafar uh on the power play and um that was the Tavaris goal I believe in game two and yeah that yes that that's right it was um that one it was and that was almost like a broken play right it came across the slot and somebody lifted the Bruins guy stick and it went to tavarus he made a great shot and that like there there's I don't know it just everything looks everything on that power play looks like it's just a a little bit off and maybe it's nander right like maybe it's just maybe that's what's off but it's certainly not been very dangerous well and and goal scoring I mean that is the primary goal of the game here you gotta put goals on I say it's a scoreboard up there that's all that matters that's it and you know they two last night three in game two one in game one and you know we know what happened in the five game series against Florida we know what happened in the last two games against Tampa like we're we're talking 10 games here where they haven't scored four more in a game and usually it's one or two in a game and yet they were the most potent offense in the East statistically all year and like power play can't get going five on five is not going they don't have like jvr had two breakaways last night the least when the last time that happened well exactly yeah never and that's a clearly clear breakdown but they haven't had on man rushes they haven't had breakaways like I one thing that I I would say one thing that the Bruins have in this series have done really well well actually both teams have not had many man Advantage breaks there hasn't been many um but the Bruins it would seem it would bother them less than Toronto CU that that should be part of Toronto's makeup but in reconfiguring their defense right which is bigger and stronger and I I think there was you know like you go you can go through it mcab leushin Edmonson and uh benois like there's there's mcabee's the best Puck mover out of them and he's not you know he's not what you would categorize as a puck mover so the Bruins forche gets into those guys like they chip it behind them make them go back and get it they can't break out as clean cuz the you know they're not that's not the strength of their game and you don't break out as clean you don't catch anybody on a four check you don't catch anybody on a three on Two And so while we look at the forwards it's always more than one thing in in hockey it's it always is and so at the if they're not going to get the man Advantage then they got to get to the other end of the ice and they've got to get ins side and they just they've not made enough plays that lead to like they they get chances and then there's no second chance or no you know it doesn't rarely has there been like that two and three and four shifts stacked on top of each other they did it in the third period of game too they were really good but it's been it's just not been enough for them to generate enough and last night I mean you got Parker W spoons playing his first playoff game Mason lry playing his first playoff game those guys have play like lay played 41 games in the regular season you know like they're it's not like you know the the Devils at the peak of their of their Stanley Cup years like you you can pressure that defense they just they just didn't have it they didn't they didn't have it and it I was surprised last night I really I really thought coming out of game too that Toronto would have this like surge at the start of game three they would take control of you know with the you know with the energy of the building and it it just didn't it didn't feel like that to me Hayes mentioned it Ray like if just in summary it's a massively missed opportunity go ahead Jamie yeah so no I I agree I agree it's a missed opportunity but I was going to ask you guys go around the T like you look at the Bruins lose game two they have adjustments like they they they two defensemen now one there was an injury to Peak but two guys come in like there you know do you do you anticipate you just talked about the mobility and Puck moving of the back in would you if you're Sheldon would you consider you know adding players or would you consider moving pieces around if you have guys available obviously neander coming back in that makes your team better just you know through osmosis how great he's been but Jim Montgomery wasn't shy to change his his roster after one loss you know I thought after Jamie I thought after Grand game one I thought Brody would would go in yeah I I said that too I just thought that their the the back end isn't that mobile and they don't move the puck that I think though honestly noodles they'd take lilligren out first like he got buried last night he gotri and he gets hit hard like Crush well and that's the reason the Bruins took gresick out yeah like he was he got bounced around like a pingpong ball in game two and so you know wat spoon's a heavier guy and if I I don't think you can you can't wait too long in a series you know if it's it's probably a fine line but now like Toronto's pretty much in a must-win here oh God right like you're Boston just if you think about it last year Boston was up 3-1 at Flo against Florida they were at home and they lost and then they lost game six then they lost game seven it seems unlik likely that that would happen again like it really does to me anyway that they would lose two at home for the second year in a row in three games so they sure as hell better win on Saturday like that's uh and what else are you going to do I mean you're not going to go to wall in goal are you I don't think so would be a heck of a place to put them in you've you've got Brody on defense who what other changes can you make unless you know unless McMahon is somehow ready to go well here's a change you could make Raymond you could tell somebody on the power play that you're not going out there because it stinks and it's not working who would you say that to okay I'll tell you what I would do because I don't know necessarily which one if you're going to pick out one guy right but coming into the playoffs Boston's power play stunk one of the worsts in the league for the last month of the season so going into the last two games Montgomery blew up his power plays so like if you if you notice Pasto and marshand always on the same power play they're not anymore MH they split them up they put shaton Kirk in the lineup he's running what's supposed to be the first power play except the other power plays doing all the scoring with makoy like they they made significant changes to a power play that struggled and if if you have to split those guys up right now I wouldn't be fearful of doing it I I I really wouldn't like what would be wrong if you had DOI and Matthews on the same power play and moved mner and nander to another one if nander is going to play and if he's not Marner and torus to another one Ray what about that drop pass and then like it seems like there's 38 seconds left and you got to get in and get after it and try to create something and it's like got to toss it back to just in front of Samson off to Matthews it's that one play in the game where I'm like okay it's effective but I think sometimes they just got to use their smarts and say we got to get this thing in and get after it and do something I I do I do think today's player in general they're you know like they we all see them go back to the bench and stare at the iPad and like they're they're all looking for the mistake and they're or what could we have done and I I I think there's less and less instinctive play like they don't know guys don't react anymore they go by this is what we're supposed to do when we're supposed to do it and I think it hurts players now not every player can think like that and so they do need the systematic Guidance the players we're talking about here they they can read the play they can read it at a high rate of speed and if you get if you have if you see a seam enter the Zone what do you have the seams there they turn around and pass it back 60 ft like I get it I I get what's happening it's because that's what we do but do you have to like what would happen one time if you didn't you might catch them by surprise you might get a step and get in the zone cleaner and set be able to set up for an extra 30 seconds you know what was I don't know if it got talked about last night you know what was and this fits right on with the instinctual thinking of a on a play when berui took that penalty at the end of the second period at least were on the power play the if you remember uh Swan went to the bench and the Bruins basically killed the clock they kept the puck for 43 seconds they didn't even try and Advance it up the ice they knew somehow or instinctively that the more they killed off that with the goalie out of the net the longer their power play was going to be when the four on four ended right because if they would have taken it right away then the the Leaf's penalty would have chewed up all the their potential power play time the Leafs never pressured the puck they didn't get to the puck for 43 seconds when the power play came and the brusk scored on the power play that was 37 seconds after the fouron four mhm that just think of that yeah that time where they killed the clock and then they got the power plate if they didn't kill the clock the lease would have been back to five on five that goal wouldn't have gone in yep and that's just it's smart it's it's a small play in the game somebody realized it somebody didn't and the result was a Bruins power play goal yeah uh with Ray Ferraro uh quickly before we get you out of here the other Canadian content Edmonton Winnipeg Vancouver all hit the road tied 1-1 you feel good about them all coming home 22 like how where how how would you rank that I know there's a lot of concerns about the goal tending heluk wasn't great Skinner wasn't great last night now you got the Smith playing in Nashville well I would you know I would be most comfortable with heluk right that that he would play well um I would be worried that at home where Colorado is they just murder teams in there this year it's not it's not even close I would be really concerned about that you know like it's not like they come there and it's like you know Nate's taking no that oxide or whatever he's just like unb I did a game in there last two weeks ago and I know Edmonton had their JV team in there but in the first period they had the puck and it was like they were playing peeee players it was like noodle sun was a net I watched that game it was ridiculous it actually was ridiculous so Skinner I don't worry about Skinner because I think he's adequate and I and I I do think I think Edmonton will win at at least one in LA because I think the team will play well um Vancouver they gave up 13 shots the other night yeah and I know Nashville will play better tomorrow night because they're at home and they'll be energetic and all that the Smith is is an adequate goenda NHL goalie right he's a backup he's he's not fer Demco and if you've got to play him 10 or 12 games in a row you're he's going to get leaky but right now he can do the job for them I think that series is going to be a bunch of 2-1 or 3-1 games anyway yeah feels that way for sure and then they'll all meet Vegas in the end and probably go oh there you go how about the when so we were doing a game and you know I walk into the from the time it took me to walk from my position uh between the benches down to our truck and I look up in Vegas Vegas is ahead and so our our producer who's busy doing thing he looks up he goes yeah probably Stone scor I look on my phone I go actually he did like we didn't even know we're like are you kidding me yeah of course of course it was totally routine last night hannahan gets on the board like everyone everything's coming together for that's a greasy couple wins over there boys going into D Big D and getting a couple greasy wins like that man they set the league on notice they sure did isn't that like last year you know Boston had 135 points and then 14 days thanks for coming see you later have a good summer and there's Dallas number one seed in the Western Conference oh boy now they're down you know they're down two at home last year they played in the conference final Vegas won the first three of the series and then Dallas won two and Vegas closed them out in Dallas but man oh man they're they're pretty close to life support there you got to go to Vegas and win two good luck good luck yep that's that's where we're at It Feels Like A lot's already happened we're not even a full weekend of the Stanley Cup Playoffs it's great been awesome it's been awesome uh great catching up with you buddy we'll do it again soon thank you for this yep I'm home home for the weekend we'll be back uh in Boston for game five on Tuesday so looking forward to that Ray just a quick update the triple stack has been brought down to Simply one and it's ready to rock it go back to the tailor or how did you do that or were you able to to I'm trying to think of what what was the worst combo the first one to do the triple stack or the second one going back and saying and you bring it down to just one five you know the discussion in the back how about this guy and his underwear what is going on with this guy that's exactly what she said she was on the phone she talks to her family members and she walks in she was sitting on their desk and she looked up and she goes oh my God you're underwear again yeah you're you're Innovative man you're the Elon Mosque of of underwear right now just think there's all those different internet companies that uh that you know that have underwear and they you know you can buy this one and that one and this pouch thingamajiggy or whatever oh this could be it this could be the old dog stack yep the triple stack you're missing it you could customize it you're all going to get a video the first time I wear them and I'm stretching doing the old driver sway bent over driver sway on the first te your guys are getting it on the group Tex beautiful you got to send that to uh um who's who's the guy that does the stretching uh him is not himz is it oh yeah it is himz yeah with the cigar that's exactly you need to send him the triple stack yes I think this could be your your Big Marketing Ploy you're right get that on the champions tour with a a stogy and a bottle of red and a triple stack for the stretch on the first team I love that idea all right buddy we'll do it again soon take care talk you a there's our buddy Ray Ferraro joining us here on the maple Toyota hotline check out Maple Toyota's huge truck and suv lineup including Tundra 4Runner Highlander and Grand Highlander in stock and ready to deliver visit Maple toyota.com all right uh we've got Luke Wilson coming up on the NFL draft tonight we'll catch up with Luke we haven't done that in a while get his take on what we can expect tonight a bunch of quarterbacks there could be five in the top 10 top 15 mock drafts are in everyone's jacked up for tonight it's in Detroit Luke's favorite Place Detroit tonight for the NFL draft which of course you can watch on TSN Detroit how did that get in the they've been doing the rounds man they they've been all over the play theyve been in Chicago they've been in Nashville Dallas I think they're going to Green Bay at some point um okay so Luke is coming up in about a half an hour overdrive continues TSN 1050 and on the TSN I here's L the center penalty coming up look at the be oh my Heavens what a goal what a mo love you oh baby what it call there Bob Cole passed away at 90 today the old baby at the end what a move and it was just an goal oh my heavens and John Casey who was the defenseman he dances there it was uh Greg Chambers yeah no yeah Chambers Sean Shan Chambers Sean Chambers Shawn Chambers cuz he was tough to play against oh I'm sure he was and think about how terrifying that is though like lemuse coming down on you you're like I'm done like what am I that's the I've never seen that move to this day like that was a one-time move I've never seen anyone pull that move off not everyone's 65 and can move and but that move there I that's disgusting so gross and like CU he inside outs like three times through the neutral zone and it looks slow because he's 6'5 and that's the way he played but if you're if you're a defenseman your mind is racing like this guy is going to absolutely dance me wow and he does and then Casey goes I guess for a poke check there and Lemieux has the presence of mine to go back door on just incredible call incredible goal and just one of many from the great Bob Cole I know it's the worst to be we've talked about this before to be on a highlight reel in a negative way because I I am like I'm on you know when Matt sundine goes into the hall there's him getting four point four goals on me and Toronto here bu had a breakway on me and for some reason in his Hall of Fame Fame video like that's probably bill doson or Sam sister for sure it's them jamming me up cuz it's it's the local networks doing these videos so who knows what it is but it's funny because on like Sean Chambers we I don't know what he's up to these days but that move will always live right so you're always going to be and one of your buddies or now if he has kids and that somebody else saying hey there's your dad getting torched by inside and out like there are famous videos of guys getting burnt in a negative way that'll never ever go away that's one of the most famous goals in hockey history like in Stanley Cup Final history for sure and it's Lemieux it's Bob Cole oh baby it's just like an unreal great s too like a great celebration from the Mew everything across the board y um there was so many great ones and that was the thing about Bob Cole like if you're if you're a leaf fan you think of him Leaf Games clearly but obviously when the Leafs were out he would he' just keep calling games you know like whoever was in the conference final that's what he would be calling if it was a cup final that's what he'd be calling and he he called he was there for 72 he would have been there you know throughout the Olympic games throughout the Canada cups had so many great great calls and uh again passing away at the age of 90 today which means Saturday night we'll be emotional because the Leafs will undoubtedly honor Bob Cole on Saturday night of course you know and that'll be a big part of hockey night too I think it's fitting it'll be a Saturday night lease Bruins where Bob Cole probably called how many lease Bruins on a Saturday night did he call musts oh probably dozens and dozens for sure yeah um so that'll be a big part of it and it's an 8 o00 start you know we we'll see again the crowd has been a topic of discussion today and you know everyone's got their own opinion on what they want what they expect but um again the the is not going to be quiet if the Leafs are winning and playing well in the playoffs right like it just it isn't going to happen and it's on the Leafs to to show up on on Saturday and uh they'll be practicing tomorrow and we'll see if Willie's out there we'll see if they make adjustments because they'll be working on special teams you can Bank on it they'll be working on special teams um only when are you're done it's pretty simple Bud yeah it feels that way because like Ray brings up a good point there there's history they were down 31 to the Bruins in 13 they were down 3-1 in 18 to the Bruins and they pushed it to seven we know we remember game seven but they were down 3-1 at that point but as R Points out last year the Bruins were down or up 3-1 to Florida like the idea of them doing that two years in a row with the goal tending that they have seems very farfetched yeah you you've got to find a way to get a win and that's what's frustrating about last night is they had it was 1-1 going into the Third on home ice like you got a CH and then it's 2-2 with seven minutes to go yeah like you can win that game they didn't get blown out they didn't play poorly it was a pretty evenly matched physical fun eventful game and the Bruins got the best of them in the end um only two games in the in the Stanley Cup playoffs today the Jays have been in a rain delay throughout the afternoon they're into the sixth inning uh vlat Guerrero's obviously been in the crosshairs Alejandro Kirk is a guy that is getting run out of town he can't hit can't he cannot hit he does not hit for power do you remember back in the day or it was like last year I told you my buddy Paul Ross who actually works in our building every hit he would send out a tweet Alejandro Kirk is a professional hitter today he did this every game this guy's a die hard today he sent out I'm sad to announce that Alejandro Kirk is no longer a professional hitter yeah he's not he's hitting like below the Mendoza Line he does not get the ball out of the infield it seems like every time he's up to Plate the B are loaded which doesn't help he's always position someone would look at him and I'm not this isn't like body shaming but someone would look and say how did you not think that that was going to ultimately happen well you know he's the slowest player in baseball I mean I'm sorry it's embarrassing he there's no such thing as running out a double play it's an automatic double play and I'm talking like down the line grab it in the seats and go to Second he's still out at first he can get picked off he pushes a ball the right field he might it might be an out dude that's not a joke that's not a joke you got a guy with a hose back there he's out he's out right but the thing is is with we're trying to be respectful but like you know this guy when he first came on the scene you're like this guy is a little fire hydrant there and he's a grit grinder and it's you know it's a great story but like did every did anybody think this guy was going to go on to a Hall of Fame career but noodles after his struggles last year why wasn't there a mandate okay you tried the you tried the heavy set thing now get your ass in shape and you're not coming you're not playing unless you're in shape this year because we got to try something different should have been a mandate from up top like but they traded the other catcher away well that's the thing Marino they they decided to go with Jansen and and Kirk you know and Kirk that year was an All-Star he was he was great at the plate he was hitting fourth in the lineup like coming down the stretch the guy had a great debut he looked like a professional hitter and last year it was a mess and this year it's even worse and when you compound that with vlat again struggling last night again today bichette's not off to a great start Springer like they're above 500 but it's you know they're they're patching it together here and you know they put that kid Barger in a really tough spot last night where he's he comes into it he goes I've never played left field in my life I've never played it they're like well let's see what you got see what you got you know they're they're they're trying to patch it together it's early they're lucky cuz the Leafs are going and everything's about the Leafs in the city right now naturally everything's about the Leafs and that's why the Raptors you'll notice they just kind of cruised out of town like the Raptors did their thing and they're like thank you oh that was the quietest exit of all can you imagine if it was the other way around well it wouldn't be I mean I mean and that's not that this matters but this is this is an example of what we're dealing with now remember when Tim Li Wicky came in and said a decade from now the rappers would be bigger no they're not they're not they weren't going to be they be that's Tim didn't understand the market doesn't understand the history and even when the Raptors went up and they peaked and they were they were hugely popular and the and the the the parade was incredible you have to have sustained success in this market to right constantly be on the front pages and only the Leafs historically have still found a way onto the front pages when they lose and you know for the last eight years they've gone to the playoffs and they've been a very compelling and fun team and polarizing team and yes they're in the playoffs now they're down 21 but they're still there and as a result they're putting up a cover for basically everyone right now J's included TFC included Raptors included um and and that's that's where we're at uh all right the NFL draft tonight in Detroit see what Luke thinks about that what does he make of Detroit because there's going to be like 250,000 people I'm sure over the course of the weekend that we show up like they will be partying in Detroit the NFL does everything the best like their draft everything is like massive a massive event like that's the thing down in the states like there's there's just nothing else matters it's all about the draft tonight and that's one event I kind of liked it when it was in New York every year I I don't know why I just thought it was show it was a big show that's what it was I still was it during Co where they did it from remotely in bich was feeding his dog in like a cabin we have I think we have that clip Joe from the that one of the greatest clips of all time like he's just sitting with a computer and a dog in some like random cabin well he'll be probably in Detroit tonight there he is look at that guy's running the show in New England I guess that doesn't look like a cabin it's just a house and but it just it seems like if it's just such a random Place gell did Goodell start like the the draft Commish bro hug like cuz he really really gets into it man like it's not just uh Hey man congrats it's like it's like if we had if we'd gone 5 years without seeing each other yeah it's a sumo wrestling kind of operation like they they engage and it's like shoulder width apart and they go in for the broh HW I don't remember Paul tagliaboo ever doing that poly Tagle AB with his hair yeah remember his hair and his Shades and he'd be up there Radio City Hall people would be booing him um he look like a mobster I don't know why he had a crazy kind of little vibe there mobster Vibe I don't like a navy suit with a gray pant you know navy jacket oh JP off the top rope said Goodell had back surgery three weeks ago he might not be doing broh hugs that he will be really unhappy with that he he'll got it out man I think he might He he'll be they'll have him drugged tonight he will not Knuckle Up what if he was in remember the coach that that was uh sick or hurt or whatever in the stretcher in college remember he was gu on the gurnie he was yeah what the hell was his name again do you remember he coached from like a a Hospital Dentistry chair he was in the media like a million rose up in a booth in a hospital a luxury like he was see like a Luxury Box behind the glass in a gurnie like laying on a gurnie he looked like super Dave osor by the end of the skits and he's in blaze all right play action play play action here watch out for the blitz like dude you you are heavily medicated I think he had I think he had had back surgery wasn't he he was laying there and he was coaching the team I think there's a chance that he was so medicated that he didn't have his headset plugged in and they're like yeah you're coaching go up there and Coach you're totally coaching he's just talking for no reason yeah there was a coordinator that was actually calling we got to find a picture or a video of that I remember like we were dying freeze was his name which is he sounds like Louisville or something yeah I think you're right Louisville or something Hugh freeze and okay we'll come back and find that picture we're going to play a couple of our other favorite videos from draft night uh over the past decade or so as well
