[Music] what's going on Imperials tipper cubone here there are plenty of strong Pokemon out there but there are also the ones that you have to step on along your way to becoming the very best we sometimes forget our humble beginnings and a little cute Pokemon that fill out the majority of the early routes in the game one of these pokemons are incredibly strong but that is the point you won't be making a team out of these any time soon but what if you had to out of the Pokemon considered the weakest which one of those is the strongest while starting in Kanto I'd like to go ahead and dispel some assumptions here see by my reckoning Caterpie and wheedle are two of the weakest pokemons from the original Pokemon region even though they're evolved forms Metapod and kikuna get all the flack for being stereotypically weak I've even made jokes about it too now this of course stems from their wild level of moves it which is just hardened however we're not talking about wild Pokemon to be given their best shot at being strong we'll be including any and all moves a Pokemon could learn from tutors or through breeding and that even means from previous evolutions so not only would that give the cocoons two extra potential moves from their first stages but also extra points in their base stat total that's another important aspect of what makes a Pokemon strong or weak as much as I personally subscribe to the idea that you should use your favorites the cold hard numbers mean that some Pokemon just never get the chance to do any better and these too early gain bug types do both have a total of 195 Caterpie can have a total of 5 moves in all resulting in 3 attacking types for coverage and of course being a pure bug type and has three weaknesses but also three resistances wheel is largely the same with 4 possible moves resulting in 3 attacking types but does get dual stab with being a bug poison type which also affords it for Wii hisses but five resistances you'd think it'd be hard to find anyone else to match that level of minimal effort until you remember that Magikarp was also in the Kanto region this floppy little fish also has a useless reputation the decks entries don't really help much in that regard with this one but this reputation is slightly more warranted magic art can just scrape by with a full move set of four moves of course one of those is splash so should that really count it can have two attacking types neither of which are stabbed and its most powerful move is bounce being only 85% accurate requiring it to turns to hit and only has 5 PP and to top all of that off its base stat total is 200 only 5 more than the bugs from earlier but don't worry it's physical attack the only kind of move that it can use by the way is sitting at a pitiful Tim the only solace is that pure water is a decent typing with two weaknesses and four resistances but with only three moves at such low power that doesn't really make a difference so if you ask me this bony water dweller could easily be considered the weakest of the Kanto Pokemon now in Johto there are an abundance of baby pokemons which are intentionally weaker versions of Pokemon that we already had and looking at the totals Pichu has the lowest base stat at 205 another deterrent to using baby pokemons competitively is the fact that they learn precious few moves through level up mostly because they're supposed to evolve but Pichu can only learn 6 moves naturally only one of which is an actual damaging attack in Thunder shock which is a bigger problem because it's physical attack is somehow higher than it's special now Pichu can learn a whole gaggle of other moves through breeding and move tutors and the like with ten possible attacking types and all but coverage moves can only do so much when your defenses are naturally so low the only break being electric is a great typing with only one weakness and three resistances but luckily for Pichu it's not the only Jojo Pokemon lacking in strength there's also poor sunkern who has been the object of ridicule for years because it had the distinction of having the lowest base stat total in all of Pokemon at 180 however I would like to point out that it's not nearly as bad as it seems sunkern can naturally learn 16 moves through level up and dozens more by TM and other means this does result in only three or four different attacking types and of course the crash type is not the greatest on the defensive front but it at least somehow has better defenses on the whole than the former Smash Bros reject that we just mentioned but even if some people will never yield on their downward opinions of this seed there is one Pokemon from Johto that I would consider weaker deep within the ruins of alph we can find the unknown now despite being shown to be quite powerful in other media and the games these ancient letters are a bit lacking unknown does have a 336 base stat total which is the highest that we've seen yet however that is not the whole story you see unknown has an unbelievable move pool of one hidden power is the only move that this psycho type can learn at least the other Pokemon with such limited move pools have those moves lead to other opportunities to branch out it's not even a stab move this psychic type has no psychic attacks so remember those stats that I was talking about 336 is an impressive number until you realize that 72 of those points are in physical attack what's wrong with that well the only move that it can learn is a special move so any amount an attack would be utterly wasted but the fact that it is tied for its highest is just purposefully vindictive taking this huge hit hurts this already limited Pokemon but if you ask makes it the most likely candidate for the weakest of its region now in Hoenn we see a somewhat familiar sight with Wurmple coming up on the weaker in much like it's Kanto nyan brethren it has a 195 base stat total with both three weaknesses and three resistances it does have a slight advantage of having a total of six possible moves resulting in four teching types since it gets both tackle and poison sting another one of those rumors or just accepted facts is that sea bass is another weakling but I would like to refute that it does have lower stats and a shallow level up mouthful but unlike its counterpart it has the potential to learn dozens of other moves by outside means so to me I don't think it should be included with the other weaklings however since they didn't learn their lesson Hoenn also has more baby pokemons to consider Azurill actually has a lower base stat total than Wurmple with 190 azu rule can learn 10 moves through level up even though several of those are water for which it doesn't get stabbed until it evolves but to counteract this Azurill has a large number of possible other moves with the proper effort providing upwards of 50 different moves spread across seven attacking types Azurill has only two weaknesses in poison and steel while having two resistances but more importantly it has immunities to both ghost and dragon even with the low stats you have to admit that dual immunities is a desirable trait so for our final entry in Hoenn we have the other baby Pokemon which I always forget about why not this baby being the pre evolution of wobbuffet which means of course that it has very few moves available to it 7 in total to be precise and none of them are direct attacks only counter and mirror code can do any damage and one of the moves is splash so really it only has 6 moves why not does have a 260 base stat total which seems monstrous compared to the other low balls in Hoenn but really half of them don't matter because it can only attack based on what it's hit with now if it's fighting any one of actual grit it would likely fall immediately and then if it's fighting another one of these weaklings it wouldn't really have enough juice to hit back and kill them so being a one-trick pony is one thing but not being able to pull that trick off means that you're pretty much next to useless meaning if you ask me why not should be considered the weakest Pokemon from the gen 3 crowd ensue no we have more of the unconventional regional bugs since Fermi comes as a method of branched evolutions into either a moth or an array of different handbags the Berma does still come with limited move pull of only 7 possible moves that it could ever learn and it only knows protect until level 10 you literally can't win it's only real difference is that it can have hidden power which basically just means that it's a standard bug mixed with unknown Fermi can only have three attacking types to match up against its three weaknesses and three resistances even with a 224 based at total there's next to no hope since its attack stats are tied for dead last and we all know bugs aren't particularly blessed defensively either but who else do we have from cinema well if you could be bothered to try out that lame honey tree gimmick you could run across a comb beat this conglomeration of bees shares the 224 base stat total with per me but this one has a few more moves in its arsenal Combee actually fares much better in its native generation since there are certain move tutors that become unavailable to it as time goes on these are decent moves that give it coverage that other weaker bugs just don't have like ghost or ground giving it five possible attacking types out of 12 moves however since it is bug flying Combee does have five weaknesses to its three resistances but it's also immune to ground so while it may be incredibly weak especially the male version with no hope of evolution it's definitely not the worst I've ever seen lastly in Sinnoh we have the other bug that I usually forget about cricketer I promise I am NOT trying to pick on the bug Pokemon here but jingling was my other choice and it was ever so slightly stronger seemingly just as an insult it has a base stat total of 194 instead of the usual 195 like all of the other ones that we've seen making it the lowest base stat total of any bug ever cricket odd also has nine moves with three attacking types though mud-slap like before can only be obtained in move tutors from past generations the big problem here is that the starting move for cricket taht is bide which requires ticking two turns of damage before firing back but you can't realistically expect this tiny bug to last long enough to even stand a chance I could barely get my first cricketer to evolve and that was only when I didn't use it even moves like uproar or endeavor are wasted on this poor creature who thoroughly cements itself as the weakest pokemon from gen 4 the univer and while I expected the usual bugs to make the list I was pleasantly surprised that Sawada land Venipede have a much better luck of the draw than their previous counterparts so with the first aspect of this is to look at the regional rodent in Patrat this little bug-eyed rat seems to be one of the least popular but a reason for that might be its shortcomings well it might only have one weakness in fighting it's also immune to ghosts however it only has a 255 base stat total it starts out with 17 moves through level up but a lot of those are annoying status moves of some kind and it does have a plethora of other moves that it can get by breeding and health side means resulting in 11 attacking types another of the lowest pokemons from the univer region is another early route critter in peta this small bird is right in the same ballpark as pet rat and that it has a total of 264 which is just a bit more than our furry friend but it's 15 moves through level up which is just slightly less with a total of only 6 attacking types it has 3 weaknesses but does have 2 resistances and two immunities on the whole even the weaker pokemon from Unova are stronger by other region standards which maybe we're part of the blame resides for the infamous power creep that's coming to the games but even if these small forest animals aren't quite as weak as their brethren across the ocean there's still the bottom of the barrel here but there is of course one more to go and it actually really surprised me Dinamo is the mini baby eel larvae that floats around in caves first of all the base stats are only 10 points higher than the ones that are supposed to be weak at 275 now the one remarkable thing about this Pokemon is that as an electric-type it only has one weakness but with the ability levitate giving an immunity to ground it technically has no weaknesses that's the one high point because I was pretty well shocked no pun intended but tiny ball can only learn 5 moves it has just these 4 in its standard state and the only other one that it can be taught is magnet rise which is pretty redundant since as we said it already has levitate I really never knew that this Pokemon was so limited it doesn't even make sense to me because you can't find this pokemon until halfway through the game so why would they make it so weak if it didn't live in charge don't cave it wouldn't stand a chance so if you ask me tying them all came right from behind and snatched up the weakest Pokemon slot which is impressive out of so many from the region now making the jump to the 3ds we come to Kalos which doesn't have a lot to choose from but we'll start with the cute little bunnelby as lovely as this Pokemon might be and it's first stage anyway it does only have at 2:37 base stat total it can learn 16 moves through level up and considerably more by other means tallying up an impressive 12 attacking types and of course being normal it has the solitary weakness immunity relationship so all in all this Pokemon might not sound so weak but it's only real standout area is speed and it lacks the power to put behind some of the better moves that it can naturally learn basically it might be great for contests but not so great for anything else the next week is Pokemon that I could find what's annoy bat whoa whoa whoa I know what you're thinking but just calm down yes noivern is a super powerful dragon Pokemon from the end of the Dex and it's typing results in for weaknesses but five resistances and an immunity to balance it out a bit but hear me out just because the end is so powerful doesn't mean the base stage will be in fact I think that's kind of the point with this Pokemon the only problem is that they should have made it sooner by that I mean you don't see this pokemons until so late in the game that the paltry 245 base stat total is almost unusable and it evolves at such a high level then you'll have to suffer through several of them before it can more than double those stats just by evolving now of course it does have 16 base attacks through level up but none of those are even dragon type it can learn some through other means and even get up to 13 different attacking types for coverage but having tried to use one of these it was just too hard to try and use a beginner level Pokemon for the majority of the game waiting for it to actually get good but even if the stats don't bear it out you do have to consider the sheer coverage and favourable typing so where does that leave us in Kalos well back at the beginning with the familiar sight in scatterbug it does possess similarities to other worm like Pokemon however there are subtle differences that make it stand out a bit for one it has a 200 based at total which may not sound like a big difference but it is in the early game also it can only learn six moves with to attacking types which might seem like a setback but some of those are status moves which are nice tools that none of the others have but that's balanced out by the fact that it doesn't evolve into level 9 and we know by now the 3/3 spread on the defensive side for the bug type so while it may not be better than other bug types it is at least different but that's not quite enough to save it from being the weakest Pokemon in its native land and finally we arrived in the Aloha region where again we are limited in the number of hokey Mon that can be chosen and to my surprise after looking through the usual suspects none of them really qualify as being the weakest so good on them the first actual candidate is bound sweet who I was actually surprised by considering that it results in one of a very few three stage lines you'd think that it would do better bounce sweet only has a 210 based at total and we've already been over the drawbacks of being a pure grass type and having all but one of your stats in the 30s doesn't really help things it only gets 9 level up moves and yes again one of them is splash you ever noticed how the already weak ones seem to have that useless move but while bounce sweet can have 5 or so attacking types grass normal and berry doesn't really help it out much in terms of viability which is a shame because I do like this fruit Pokemon but that can't save it from its inherent lack of strength one that I really shouldn't have been surprised made the cut was wind pod I mean come on it's right there in the name it's literally a wimp this poor frightened little pug does have 230 points in its base stats unfortunately everything else is working against it it's got decent speed but just take a look at its comically bad move fooled it has struggle bug and sand attack that's it for level up so if for some reason you want a decent wind pod you will want to breathe it and have plenty of TM sandy but even if you do you'll still have to worry about it's very situational ability wimp out that automatically switches you once your health is below half and considering those defenses it's gonna be happening a lot so wind pod is definitely a contender there are some other pokemons that come to mind namely for me QQ moo coop this is mostly because it can really only learn status moves or moves that require it to take damage first but that's not really fair for me to include it just because I can't make that play style work for me besides its base stats are considerably higher and then of course there's solo wishy-washy which is the new holder for the title of Pokemon with the lowest base stats with 175 however it isn't always in this form when school together it ends up being stronger than a pseudo legendary so I don't think it's fair to call it the weak is poking on when it isn't always the case so who is the weakest Pokemon from a low level well I was having trouble with that until I reached the bottom of the list and remembered that the legendaries from aloha start their life as a meteor cloud of gas in cosmic cosmic is the epitome of what makes a weak Pokemon it's only got 200 in its base stats meaning most everything is around 30 and it's got a whopping zero attacking types that's right because this little psychic type can only learn two moves ever and those moves are teleport and once again splash it would have been better if it only had teleport and to insult it by giving it the ability to jiggle around uselessly I get the narrative reasoning behind these limitations but there is literally no way to train this thing on its own you'll just have to turn on the exp share and wait 43 levels just for it to learn cosmic power you can't really ask for much more in a weak Pokemon then one that has exactly zero ability to fight whatsoever well now that we've whittled down each of the regions to their least powerful entries it's time we got to the point of the video and see exactly which of these weakest Pokemon is the strongest after what we just said about cosmic it would have to be out as with Magikarp and unknown just for being really terrible I'm gonna go ahead and say that cricket ah doesn't really have what it takes either and while scatterbug does have those unique qualities that might make it popular with the bug catchers they aren't enough to make it out on top over these others so that just leaves why not and dynamo and after really considering all the options it comes down to this why not can hit back whatever the opponent does harder if it can properly predict the incoming attack if not the best it can hope to do is to take the enemy down with them with Destiny's bomb Dynamo can hit on either the physical or special side if need be but is also able to paralyze targets which makes me think that it could be more useful in a general sense but also honestly just picturing these two in a fight that coupled with the fact that it has no real weaknesses makes me think that out of the pool of the weakest Pokemon we could find that taina MO is indeed the strongest so if you ever find yourself in the bizarrely specific situation of having to use only the weakest Pokemon available you'd probably want to pick the univer as a good place to start I did my best here in trying to determine the results based on the facts as much as I could so hopefully you can plainly see my reasoning behind the final outcome what are your thoughts on the strongest weakest Pokemon let me know down in the comments
