hello and welcome to probably my most controversial video in this channel yet this is the Toyota sports car tier list we are going to be determining is that the right word am I saying that right whatever we're going to decide which Toyota sports car is the best and we're going to do this based on this beautiful little tier list a quick few little disclaimers so first off I did not include like the very very old Toyota sports car from like the 60s and 70s second disclaimer is that if a car ranks pretty bad on this list it does not mean that this car is bad it just means that it's a little bit less cool in my mind as a Toyota sports car but you've got to keep in mind that Toyota is my absolute favorite car brand so sports cars from this brand usually are very high up my list of cool cars so might still be a very cool car to me so let's just get into the first few cars so we're going to start off with the Toyota mr2s you're probably here for the mr2s so let's start off with the Toyota MR2 aw11 the first generation MR2 so the aw-11 was the mid-engine sports car for the people so the MR2 purist will say that this is the generation MR2 and you know they have a lot of evidence to back that up because this car won't like Car of the Year award from you know back in the day it came out so you could say that this car is a top-tier Toyota sports car however I do not really agree with that so the issue with me with the aw11 MR2 is yes it's a very cool pure sports car but I also want to to have a little bit of a beautiful car and I think that the aw11 did not age very well that's something I think happened with a lot of 80s cars the exterior still kind of works for me however the interior of the aw11 really really aged poorly however it's still a very cool car it's a car I would love to experience one day so we're going to place it in a very solid 8th year so it's like kind of on the top of the list of the Toyota sports cars so what is top tier could it be the sw20 MR2 so the sw20 MR2 is the second generation MR2 and with the second generation MR2 Toyota kind of went with a little bit of a different direction so this car is still a mid-engine sports car for the people it's still practical but it's also fun however what's changed is that this car got a little bit bigger it got a little bit heavier and it had a way better in my opinion Urban Market look they really look like little fake Ferraris so you know guess where the channel name comes from however is this sw20 top tier and uh yeah I guess if you have a Toyota MR2 sw20 turbo you have an absolute top tier car you know you have a very good looking car the 3s GTE has some power to it you get very fun turbo noises it's the ultimate edition of the MR2 the MR2 turbo if you have one it's absolute top tier they're kind of getting expensive you know because people are realizing that these are very cool cars however you also have a few naturally aspirated mr2s from this generation so you have the 2.03 s GE and you have the 2.2 MR2 from the USA which has a Camry engine so the 3sge so that is the one I personally have who's probably like be a solid eightier and the 2.2 would be a b tier car so let's move on to the third generation of the MR2 and that is the ZZ w30mr2 also known as the MR2 spider so with the MR2 Spyder Toyota I kind of went into a different direction they made a different look to the car it has a soft top and you know it has to be your taste and the MR2 spider did not resonate with a lot of MR2 fans out there but I think that this is an absolute underrated car the reason with this being that is this is probably when you look at the driving Dynamics probably the best Toyota MR2 generation it is lightweight it has a very actually a pretty fun engine it's the one ZZ I believe or the 2 is easy it's the uh it's the the ZZ Engine with less power so it's a very lightweight engine it does have the oil problem but you can work around that you can fix that and you know if you solve the oil problem I think you actually have a pretty solid car with the MR2 spider the looks are redeemable you know it's also not my taste but there are a few aftermarket options out there and you can actually make this car look very pretty and because of this you know I'm going to place the third generation MR2 into the B tier so that's actually a pretty solid place for the MR2 spider because a lot of people really don't like this car but I really say that this is an underrated car if these ones drop a little bit more in price I think that's that this could even be an atheater it's really moving into the JDM sports car bargain territory so with the mr2s out of the way we are going to move on to the Toyota Celicas so the Toyota Celicas usually have the base trims which are front-wheel drive or the GT4 trims which are a inline 4 3s GTE turbo engine with all-wheel drive so I'm going to assume in this tier list a top trim of this car so it's going to be the GT4 models so first you got the GT4 SD 165. so this is the first generation of the GT4 and I to be honest I don't know a lot about this car however it's all-wheel drive it has a 3s GTE turbo engine in it so that means that it's still a pretty cool car I don't think that this car looks very good so considering that there are very very similar cars with similar specs that do look better I am going to place the first generation GT4 inside of the seat here and you know then you get the Next Generation the sd205 away not is the s3185 this one is pretty legendary in like Rally Sport I believe the WRC this car just has a lot of like Moto Sports on his name it participates it in quite a lot again it's a car with a 3s GTE and all-wheel drive so that also makes it pretty cool however I'm not going to place it into the S tier the top tier it's going to be an 8-year car again with this car it doesn't look good this this car is pretty ugly the celica's never were really good looking cars however this generation of Celica I just I don't know is it's this weird blend between 80s and 90s styling just did not age very well however just the Motorsport Heritage elevates this car quite a lot so then we are moving to the last generation of the Celica GT4 however not the last generation of the Celica itself and this is the Celica GT4 st205 once again it has rally Heritage it is all-wheel drive it has a 3s GTE which make it pretty cool however I think that this actually is the coolest generation it has a pretty cool story that it is banned from Motorsports because Toyota cheated with this car but I also think that this is the best looking generation I really like the aggressive styling it has the base version of the Celica is not the greatest looking however the GT4 version really looks aggressive and I think you can make these look very cool if you just put some wheels on it and you lower it a bit you get a really good looking car this is a car that if I had the option to to buy one one goes for sale right now you know you don't see these ones go for sale quite a lot so they're quite rarely over here in Europe I believe it's a JDM only car but when you see one it is still not too expensive for like an old 90s legendary JDM car if I see one up for sale and I have the the place to put it somewhere I would really take the chance and get a Celica GT4 from this generation and that says enough for me that means that it's going into the S tier is it better than an MR2 Turbo no it's not it's not a midi engine sports car but it's really close it's this is really a car I would like to own but enough about the GT4 let's move on to the Celica t-sport so this is the last generation of the Toyota Celica so the Celica d-sport is the last generation of the Celica and just like with the Toyota MR2 Toyota had quite a different approach with this car so this generation of the Celica was not available as a four-wheel drive GT4 it was only available in a bass stream and a d-sport trim so the bass trim had the 1cc or the 2zz I'm not really sure it just had the low power one and the d-sport had the high power cc engine so the low power cc engine has the oil issue the high power ZZ engine does not have the issue so this is actually a pretty fun platform to build on you can put turbos on these engines you can make quite fun little gosh out of these however there is one issue with this generation of Celica so first off I once again don't really dig the look of the car but where the ZZ w30 MR2 is redeemable through the aftermarket this generational the Celica really is not redeemable every like body kit just makes it look worse and worse and worse another issue I see with this generation of the Celica is that there's not really a big of a price difference between the different trims so that's actually not really a bad thing it just means that if you're looking for these cars just go and look for a d-sport they're hard to find but you pay almost just the same as a bass stream Celica so why not go for the superior engine and this t-sport usually also has better options however I think that you know they go for around 10 000 Euros 12 000 Euros I think that is too much for this car it does not look really good so that's the reason I'm not going to rank this celeco got pretty high I I'm actually like deciding if I'm going to put it in C or D there I think it it deserves see there you can get worse let's say let's just let's just say like that you can get worse so now it's time for the big hitters let's move on to the Toyota Supras so we're starting from The Mark 3 generation before that you had like the Celica Supra and stuff I'm just going to leave those out because those cars are really old you cannot really find them anymore and again I did not have any space but let's start off with the Mark 3 Supra so some people would say that the Mark III Supra is a cop car so you know they actually discussed that in a YouTube channel I actually enjoy a little bit as that is collector car feeds is the Mark 3 a golf car that is a pretty good question and I think that the Mark III Supra just it is not a great Supra but it's also not a cop car however an issue you have with the Mark 3 Supra is you're definitely paying Supra attacks on it I think they're a little bit too expensive for what they are so finding one with a 1JZ engine the most desirable version of The Mark III Supra is quite difficult you don't see them out there a lot so that means you're probably going with the other version I don't know what the engine is called you don't get a 1JZ basically if you find these cars for sale so you can find them both naturally aspirated and with a turbo and they go for around 12 000 Euros to like 50 16 000 Euros based on if you have an automatic or a manual car and I personally think that that's a little bit on the expensive side for this car if you want the 1JZ version you're going to pay a premium because it has a Jay-Z engine however the issue with the j1jz engine is that it's just not as good as the 2JZ it's not as tunable it cannot handle as much however a very cool thing about the 1JZ is that's pretty dramatic you know it has very dramatic turbo noises exhaust noises everything but I think that the Mark 3 Supra is just fine where it is right now if these get more expensive you know it's really going to take a hit in the tier list but right now I'd say that that the Mark 3 Supra is a b to your car it deserves to be like above the old school Celica and the latest generation Celica however in my opinion it just does not compete against an aw11 for the price right an aw11 goes for significantly less money the Mark III Supra does not have really a Heritage or pop culture status so you know it cannot beat the Celica so I think that beat Tier isn't actually a pretty good sport should I place it in front of the zzw30 MR2 I guess so because there are kind of in the same price range and I think that the Mark III Supra does have a little bit more style to it so we're going to put it first in bit here so now now it's time for the car we've all been waiting for and that is the ultimate Toyota the Mark 4 Supra and so we're going to get controversial here this is to a lot of people like an absolute dream car and I also really adore the Mark 3 Supra and because of that you know some people would put it into the top tier however I mean nowadays you cannot put it into the top tier anymore a few years back you know 10 years back it would probably be top tier you know back when it was cheap but right now paying like more than a hundred thousand Euros for a top trim Toyota Supra from the 90s I mean it it is getting kind of crazy with these cars you really cannot justify prices this car go for these cars go for anymore so that's just the thing that it's uh that's preventing this car from entering the top tier you have the naturally aspirated Supras you have the arrow top Supras they are a bit more affordable you know you might be looking at like 30 000 Euros or something uh in in that direction but again it's it's a 90s Toyota we got to see the car for what it is yes it was in Fast and Furious and all of that it is a pop culture icon but they they truly are expensive like even with the lower three models you're you're paying too much the reason like why these top trim Supras are going for so much is because of the 2JZ and the right trends you can get like thousand horsepower out of these pretty easily it is a legendary car it's a cool car but I it's the price I cannot put it into the top tier but I mean putting it any lower than 80 would also be a disk surface to the mark IV Supra so that's what we're doing we're just putting it in the top of the eighth here it really is a cool car I mean if I had the chance to own the Supra I would take the chance obviously however just in general the car market is getting out of hand but truly I get the market for the mark IV Supra is really blowing up and getting out of hand so eight year yeah let's leave it at 8 here so another controversial pick can we even call this car a Toyota so this is the mark 5 Supra also known as the gr Supra this car is co-developed with BMW and this was supposed to be the Revival of the Toyota Supra however a lot of people did not like this car because it was a BMW actually I think this is a pretty cool car if I look at these cars in real life I'm just looking at them it's such a beautiful car and the b58 is actually not that that bad so in the Netherlands here some Toyota dealers are even like willing to give a 10-year warranty on this cars so that must mean that the p58 is not this unreliable BMW engine and you can make reliably High horsepower with these engines you know people with just a downpipe people are getting like 500 horsepower 600 horsepower you know the b-58 truly is a successor to a2jz it's just not developed by Toyota and to make matters even more controversial I think it is a better car than the mark IV Supra just because it is a better sports car it's lighter it's faster it does not have the back seats like the previous Supras had but this truly is a flagship Toyota sports car but because this car is a BMW we are not going to put it into the SD and we're also not going to put it in front of the mark IV Supra we're going to put it behind the mark for Supra because we're not going to put a BMW in the top tier of a Toyota list but don't get me wrong this car I think this is like one of my favorite cars I'm actually like saving up for a gr surprise it's kind of Madness you know I'm I'm still pretty young but I'm just like one day I want a gr Supra Mark 4 Supra is just unattainable anymore I'm just going to forget the mark for Supra however the mark 5 gr Supra is just such a cool car so you know maybe one day if the channel does well we'll do a gr Supra on the channel now maybe one day be able to afford it enough about the gr Supra let's move on to the next Gazo racing car and that is the gr Yaris so the girs is the second card that released under the Gazoo racing brand the GRS is a Yaris however not regular Yaris because it is of course a gr Yaris and this is a car that's built for rally driving you know it's purpose built for Motorsports it's wider than a regular Yaris it has this g16e I believe it's called the one of the most powerful three-cylinder engines in production its all-wheel drive this is a very fun car it's really playful you know it likes to drift a lot and this car was meant to be the replacement in rally sports of the Celica GT4 that got banned so all this time Toyota did not participate in the WRC however they wanted to return into Rally Sport with the giers however the GRS did not get any chance because due to the situations in the world back in the day like in 2020 2021 WRC got canceled and once again Toyota did not get to participate into the WRC so once again an all-wheel drive Valley Legend from Toyota that did not participate but it's a very cool story I think this car is a top tier car it really really is it is really playful it's fun to drive again a car that I would love to own one day and I think yeah I think it's actually like cooler than a GT4 that's yeah let's put it like this it is supposed to be replacement also GT4 it is probably better than the GT4 and it's easier to find than the GT4 even though it is a limited edition build so next up is the gr Corolla so this one got revealed like pretty recently actually like I believe one year back and this is supposed to be the girs for the US market America did not get the Girish here in Europe and over in Japan we do not get the gr Corolla and the gr Corolla is kind of the same platform you know the g16e three cylinder however built into a bit more of a bigger more serious car which is the gr Corolla the gr Corolla is like I said more serious it's little it's quite a lot less drift have than a GRS and it's a little bit more grown up it's heavier of course and they're very expensive over in the USA if it was available in Europe I would not pick it over the gr Yaris I actually think that this is a little bit more Dame this guy it goes into the low beat they are still a very cool car I think that this is a very beautiful looking car however you got a way more cool version the Gir is so you know that kind of bumps the jio Corolla down a few tiers if this car one day comes available in Europe I hope they do like the estate version of the Corolla because that one looks pretty cool and that would actually be quite a fun way to differentiate from the giers to have the geoc roller as an estate over here in Europe now there's quite a lot of sporty estate cars in Europe that do well so maybe that is an option for Toyota to bring digio Corolla over here in some capacity so the last and the newest car in the gr range is detail gr86 so this sports car from Toyota Isco developed with Subaru this one has a 2.2 boxer engine and it is a pure sports car available with a manual transmission and a rear-wheel drive something that car into enthusiasts really like this car is also very popular it's already sold out over here in Europe it's sold out in the UK and I believe it even sold out in the USA I think they look really really cool this is a true old-school sports car and because of that I'm going to put this car in the S tier you know I think Toyota nailed this car it looks good it drives good it's a very good car I think this is an SD car I think this is going to be a future classic however it is going to be low s tier because you know it has to go up against some pretty pretty cool cars in my opinion but you know if you have a chance the chance to pick up one of these cars take the chance everywhere except for the Netherlands they're quite affordable it's the last of its kind we're never going to get a car like the gr86 again I think so let's continue with the older sibling of the gr86 and that is the GT86 so again the GT86 is a very pure sports car co-developed with Subaru but this one is a little bit older it got introduced in like 2012 I believe it's a pretty old car and back in the day this was the only sports car Toyota had to offer for a very long time you know those old Celicas and mr2s were discontinued the Supra was discontinued but in 2012 we got this car and it was the only sports car we got and this car would be a solid like 8-year car however just the existence of the gr-86 bombs this car down in my opinion yes it is still a cool car you know a pure driver's car however this car has a little issue and that is the notorious torque dip which makes this car feel a little bit slow which is not too great for a sports car and the other thing is that the r86 just improves on every single little thing of the GT86 so why would you get a GT86 when you can also get a gr86 you know price might be an issue especially here in the Netherlands however the gr86 is pretty cheap in a lot of markets so you know saving up a little bit longer for like the new version might be a solid strategy just the tr86 is so perfect that this car the existence of this car becomes a little bit useless especially if the gr86s are going to hit the used markets you know for quite a bit cheaper I think most people are going to prefer the gr-86 I personally would prefer the gr86 but the GT86 is somewhat affordable right now I think I would pick it over the gr Corolla and probably also over the ZZ w30 MR2 so you know it is a solid bdr car so next up is the AE86 Corolla which is a pretty well known car are in pop culture it appeared in the initial the anime and because this car appeared in the initial D anime it's quite popular and you know they go for quite some high prices right now you can pay up to like 30 000 Euros for an AE86 Corolla the thing is like it's just a rear-wheel drive Corolla let's I'm going to piss some people off with this but it's a rear wheel drive Corolla the appeal of these cars were that they were very cheap drift cars however people are paying so much money for this cars I think it is a little bit crazy so this is once again a car that is kind of in the overrated territory of the Toyota sports cars I mean I I said it the aw11 MR2 has the same engine and the aw MR2 is also rear-wheel drive and the aw11 MR2 is even Mid Engine which makes it maybe even a little bit more special and cool so I really don't see the reason why you should be paying more for an 80 AE86 Corolla than an aw MR2 really don't think that these cars are worth the money you're purely paying like anime decks they're not really like that good for tuning people are going to hate me but it's it's detailed we're replacing it in the detail if these cars went for like 10 000 Euros you know 8 000 Euros it would probably be like a solid beat your car if it went for even less because back in the day these things were Dirt Cheap it would be a very good eight-tier car it would be a cheap drift car and that is something that you want right because they're not really a lot of cheap rear-wheel drive beater cars out there anymore however just with this car becoming so much more expensive it kind of loses the appeal of being a cheap car for drifting so yeah it's going to be detailed so next up is the Paseo so it is a really small image over here and the reason that this is a very small image is because I could not find a high quality picture of the sky the Toyota Paseo is this even a sports car that is a question well it is supposed to be the budget Celica so I mean that kind of means that it is a sports car it kind of has the proportions of a small compact sport scoop so I was like let's just put it as a sports car I know some people that are very passionate about these cars so you know there's also some form of Enthusiast appeal to this cars but I think that this is a cop car like these things go for dirt cheap they have this little 1.5 liter engine in it which does not make a lot of power which does not have any tuning potential there's not really an aftermarket for this card you know people just buy this car for the fact that look I got a knight this JDM Toyota is that a little bit harsh it might be it goes wrong when you call it the budget Celica I mean like the front wheel drive Celicas are already kind of Budget cars it's going with the AE86 into detail however one little side note I actually kind of want to get this car yes yes Slow Down slow down there like when I was researching this video I kind of got like this small guilty pleasure for this car I really would like to do a car like this on the channel I don't know it there's just something that appeals to me with this car so you know maybe in the future one or two years I'll go out and see if I fit in one of these cars because I saw one at a garment a little while back these are really small cars but maybe I I fit inside of it I'm pretty tall so you know I get pretty scared of small cars the size of the car might be an issue but if I do fit maybe I'll do a small little budget build on a Toyota Paseo I think that that would be pretty fun so next up is the Starlet GT Turbo so they started the GT Turbo is a Toyota Starlet with a 1.4 turbo charged inline 4 engine so so this is a very small lightweight car making 90 horsepower which is actually a pretty fun little Holt hatchback I kind of got a soft spot for these kinds of cars but these cars are going to be like very very hard to find because they're quite rare and I believe that these rjdm only cars but again it's a pretty cool unique car if you see one out in the wild I think it is seatier you know it's better than the Paseo it is better than the 8086 because this thing does not cost a 30 000 Euros but you're going to need to import a card like this in most markets unless you're of course in Japan and that is going to have a price tag so it's not going to beat the Celica t-sport so to follow up with another Starlet I'm going to follow up with the Starlet glonza so this is also a I believe JDM only version of a Starlet and it is also turbocharged however these cars just leave a little bit of a bad taste in my mouth because every time when I see this car it's either a bass Starlet with just a body kit on it or it's a Starlet glancer that's just very which is modded very bad you know it might be a good car but I don't like it I don't like the way it looks I don't know like it when I see one out in the wild no it's the bad mods so because of that we're going to have it and eat here the next car is the Toyota caldina GT4 so like I said the early 2000s were very weird for Toyota sports cars the Toyota Celica went front-wheel drive only however the 3s GT engine and the GT4 batch lift on however it did not live on in the Celica it lived on in the Toyota called Dina a JDM only family car yes this is what they decided uh what should be the next GT4 it should be an automatic family car and just the pure weirdness of this card I always think like why with some cars as can be a good thing and this is certainly one of those cars it's weird in in a good way however this is a JDM only car so you're going to need to go through a lot of trouble to get this car so you know you're not going to get it for cheap it's going to be hard to find I'd say just that it is better than the OG Celica GT4 it is weird it has the best version of the 3s GTE you know the most modern version the the most reliable which makes it in my eyes a little bit better than the OG Celica because just the pure uniqueness but I mean this is like the highest I can give this car it is a very fun weird car but you know it's I think we cannot even call this a sports car let's say it like that it's more of a performance family car thing I I don't know let's just move on to the next car and the next car is the Corolla t-sport once again a Toyota sports car from the early 2000s and this is just a Toyota Corolla but with the good ZZ engine so the high power one without the oil issues and you know the thing is this is just a better version of the Celica t-sport it looks a bit more conservative which is a good thing with these early 2000s Toyotas and you get more practicality and you still get a lightweight front wheel drive car with a fun engine and because of that I'm going to actually place it high in a higher tier than the Celica is going into beat here because it's not only more practical and everything than silicates also cheaper so I think I'm going to put it right behind the jetset w30 MR2 so we have a nice little like block with the early 2000s Toyotas you know that those early 2000 Toyotas are really something different maybe one day in the future we're going to appreciate these cars like we are appreciating the 90s Toyotas however that is going to be a little bit of a far future because right now we're just in the middle of the 90s JDM hype speaking of a90s JDM car the next car is the Toyota Sarah so this is maybe like the caldina is weird but this car is weird on another level so this car is a we I think it is a weird version of the Paseo actually you know it has the same engine it's also a very small compact car however this car just has way more cool like weird little options is it a sports car I'm not really sure but it surely does wants to look like a sports car with those like McLaren butterfly doors it has like this full-on panoramic glass roof it has a live surround sound system as Toyota calls it it is a very weird car and I think that this is a very cool car for Toyota collectors mainly it also has a bit of Enthusiast appeal of course but this car does not have the performance to back any big enthusiasts to build up so yeah I think it is low beat here just the uniqueness elevates this car however it does not have any like performance benefits or whatever ever it's just a very fun car if you see this one on a show or in a museum or whatever like it's a very rare find and the thing that makes this video is that this car is not crazy expensive you can find this for like 10K or something and I think that 10K for a very very rare special car is not too bad and I think you might have a little investment on your hands of course I'm not like a car market Guru or something but it might possibly be an investment car however right now it's just what it is a very cool weird quirky car so right there we see the last car of the tier list what a ride it has been quite a lot of weird cars cool cars bad cars but it's time to finish off the list with the less car and a lot of people are watching right now and are like hey that that is a Lexus that is not a Toyota that's a Lexus IS 300 and you're wrong so in the early 2000s once again the weird Toyota era Toyota got a you know Toyota Japan Japan got a Toyota version of the is-200 and is 300 and this car does not have a six cylinder like the inline 6 is-200 or the 2jc is 300 now this car got the 3sge beams engine making around 200 horsepower which is I believe the most powerful version of the 3sge that's Toyota made again this car is rear wheel drive and I think that this is actually a pretty cool little car again it's a JDM only car so you're going to pay a little bit extra to get it into your country or going to need to go through a lot of trouble to get your hands on a car like this but I kind of feel like that it is worth the annoyances or worth the price because nowadays a bad is-200 goes for like around 8 000 Euros and a good altezza might go for what like 12 000 Euros is 300 if you can find one goes for a lot because you're paying super attacks for the 2JZ in it I mean you might as well just get the Toyota altezza 3sge is not a bad engine it's pretty fun little engine and you also always have a platform to swap a better engine into this car if you're getting into the is platform I think that the altezza might be the best way to do it however we're not talking about Lexus and tuning and swapping we're talking about the tier list so where does the altezza find its place this is actually pretty pretty difficult one I I don't really know where I should place it just based on the cars that are in the beat there I don't think it's just be there because yes it has the 3sge but it's not very tunable you know you have the Lexus versions of this car it's it's going to be first in seat there I think that this that is an appropriate place for the car so we're going to move everything a little bit to the side and Lace the Toyota odesza and the top of the seat there and there we are the best Toyota of course it's going to be an MR2 sw20 turbo what did you expect we are the Dutch fake Ferrari Channel but for the rest of it I think that I kind of have a weird opinion I think not a lot of people would agree with my ranking of these cars so this is the perfect
