so the market is constantly changing I think it's only right as a watch dealer that I answer your questions and answer them honestly on what is actually going on in the current Rolex Market what is the best two watch Rolex collection under 20K in your opinion I currently have an Explorer 40 and looking at adding another watch it would be great to get your thoughts so for me you've got the Explorer 40 I think a nice Edition would be in that range probably the Explorer 2 the 42 mm it comes in the black and the polar white combination if it was me personally under 20K you actually can't get a lot in the current market I would choose a Wimbledon fluted Jubilee D just 41 and I would also choose possibly the Explorer 2 pole that be my two Choice under 20K what do you think of the 1 1908 Platinum is it worth a buy versus the protect craa really good question I'm very current as well there's a lot of talk of this particular watch I think it's a fantastic watch by the way a few guys that don't know it's the new release from Rolex at watches and wonders this year it's got the platinum and the ice blue dial by the way which is obviously comes in all Platinum Rolexes so yeah I think it be really popular I think it's two straps think it's like a black and a brown strap on that particular one it's got a beautiful sort of grainy dial market price on that I think it's going to be in high demand I think it's going to be order lot I'm sure it's probably being order a lot already from the ads it's going to hit the market probably 3 to 6 months from now I think realistically if that watch is traded on the on the gray Market or sold by a retailer like me it's going to be around about 50k I think double or triple wouldn't be unreasonable when it first comes out I think just CU obviously it's so desired and when you compare it to the tech C tra in my opinion the problem I have with Kor tra and it's not the watch I think it's a really beautiful watch is the fact that is well known as an as get you up the list watch so Ed we offers a craa you bring up a deal in the go calra you're just thinking right so you've got that so you get your Nautilus you've got that so you get your aaut simple as that but you don't want to lose that much money on it and the market corrects on that watch heavily as soon as you bought it and they are worth less than retail so for me there's no comparison I think the 1 1908 will beat it hands down highly charged topic from my experience but what is your opinion on watch winders many friends say not to use them as they simply add wear and tear to your watch others say if you're wearing your own watches then what is the issue with a few more turns very good question Chris I get asked this all the time from my clients so if you are going to be a weekend watch wearer I.E you're not going to daily it my advice is if you don't want to set it all time and go to all the trouble if it's got the date as well or even the more complicated movement certainly have a watch Winder it stays on there it's not like excessive where obviously it turns sort of every hour two hours and it'll keep your watch going you don't have to bother when it comes to Friday or Saturday evening of pulling it off setting it and wearing it so if you are going to be a longer term wearer I.E you've got a bigger watch collection you've got a few watches and you're not going to wear it every weekend I would advise not having a watch Winder we do have some clients who have huge collections they will have a battery oper at watch Winder in their safe and that's how they like to do it in my opinion it's like a motor vehicle if you've got the engine running all the time would you leave it there if you're not using it absolutely not so my advice would be if you're going to be a longer term wearer do not have it on a watch one you are just wearing the parts down for no reason if you're going to be intermittent then certainly get a watch Winder Friday Night Comes watch goes on good to go what was the first watch you sold and did you make a decent margin on it well this is a really good story for me cuz this is is how I started in the watch industry it was a brightling chronomat and it was one that was quite a few years old a steel and gold it had a mother P out with diamonds I actually sold it I did make a good profit it's all relative to the time we are talking 2014 now about November time I sold it for £35,000 and I bought it for £3,000 so I made £500 profit that is what started me on my Watch Journey that's what got me into the lwc sort of company and started on my watch company journey and for me you know I look back at that watch I'd love to buy it back so if anybody knows of that watch or knows it just because of nostalgia I'd love to actually buy it back but I think unfortunately it's probably gone and for me that's what started me in the watch industry it's a very very special Benchmark for me I recently bought 2023 36 mil day just with a fluted Jubilee combination with a Wimbledon dial how well do you think it hold value in the future you done very well in getting that the best combination in my opinion fluted Jubilee Wimbledon the best St in that Model 36 mil unisex both men and ladies wear that watch it will always hold its value it's got one of the top three tier dials in that particular combination and obviously we have increases from Rolex every year so for me you've got really the best combination in that range and I think it'll hold its value fine over years and hopefully you'll be wearing it and enjoying it in the meantime next question if you could only have one green dial Rolex John Mayor Hulk yellow gold president rose gold president Sky dweller or D just how would you rank them out so if I could only have one it's kind of like two questions if I could have one from what you've said there for me personally would be the John Mayor that is an unbelievable watch 18 karat yellow gold beautiful dark green dial very very special watch and when you see it and put it on your wrist it is a special piece obviously in the market now they're selling for just under 60k somewhere around there again you know historically I think that's decent value in the current market I have had all the other watches there the Hulk probably is the most popular for you guys watching this channel now you know that is the one most of You cover and I get asked all the time you know turned that watch down I didn't like green and now we have so many clients chasing that and we s that watch about 18K now the yellow gold president again I got married in one of those wasn't the green D but it was the Silver Roman beautiful watch love that watch the rose gold one obviously it's the olive that everybody knows very special watch and very popular the DAT just with the mint green very popular as well and to the second party question how would I rank them oh it's difficult this let's go Sky dweller they just pretty similar as the as the bottom then I would go Ros gold Hulk yellow gold president and then John Mayor num Uno this is from speed King if you had a submar a day and a two-tone root beer which one would you sell if you had to subd and a two-tone root beer if your subate is the steel which I'm probably guessing it is not the the blues I think you'd have put that which one would I sell I'd probably sell a r beer because I think the Submarina is the best all around Rolex you will never get tired of wearing that watch it will function in everything you ask of it to do you can wear for dinner parties you can wear with shorts and t-shirt so that is that watch the root beer is a bit more you know bit more dressy so for me personally if I was looking at that watch I'd look at for the test of time it would be the submar day and I'd get rid of the ru beer I just picked up one of my gril pieces a new ref dayona go one that I intend to not keep locked up curious to know how you see the values of the precious metal Rolexes going forward as Rolex has put a big emphasis on them with their new releases so thank you for the question precious metals are not the most popular in the current market especially on the full bracelet covered that in loads of videos unless it's special dial of course then they are extremely sought after but yeah when it's on the oyster Flex there day Tona ghost it's our number one selling oyster Flex at lwc to let you guys know and we get phone calls all the time when whenever we get opportunity to buy them we will always buy as many ghosts as we can physically get so yeah great watch that you've bought there certainly that sort of stealthy special watch and for you that you actually got that congratulations next I'm starting on buying my very first Rolex I was thinking about buying the smooth bezel and blue dial dat just is that a good start and what is the price for brand new good question D just is a very good entry level model for you guys out there that don't know that's where most of our clients start on the Journey of Rolex the blue D dat just comes in two combinations I've got an A zero one to show you here and it's actually talking about smooth bezel so I'll show you that one that's smooth bezel there and that's a Jubilee bracelet certainly for me I would definitely go the Jubilee we do have clients that buy the smooth bezel with the oyster bracelet as well that is certainly popular but certainly for the clients wanting a little bit more they would go for a minimum of the Jubilee bracelet and then would actually go for the fluted Jubilee which is that one there same dial but that's the top tier one in that particular one so yeah definitely if you're looking at buying your first one the smooth bezel date just is a good shout we sell these for around about 9k just to give you an idea um and with the oyster Bas it's slightly under prob say about 8 and a half so yeah very good entry level watch I think they're cracking value for money in the current market and certainly you won't go wrong with a date just 41 with a blue dial next question hi love your channel and your take on most watches but I haven't heard you talk much about the milous what is your take cheers mate thank you for that actually I've got one to show you here so I've got the blue one here this is the beautiful blue dial it's got the Green Glass milous this is one that obviously has been discontinued I think this is the sweet spot for this model the early ones used to come with a white dial for you guys who who like this watch will know which one I mean and they also did like a matte black dial one in this one as well this is what is class of the top tier dial in this particular one it's the most sought after I really like this watch and I do sell this watch to clients who want something a little bit different probably is a bit of a Marite which is why you won't hear much of it on any of the sort of YouTube channels out there but for me personally I think it's a really nice looking watch something different to the Rolex lineup and obviously having that Green Glass you know is quite unique for you guys that don't know it's the only watch that Rolex produced with no laser etching with the coron at 6:00 due to obviously how they've manufactured it but yeah it's a great watch price point around about 10K for really Nearly New or absolutely Mint one like this one which this one is and again looking at the current value in the current market you in the S of the Daye just RS for so for something a little bit different I think it's a great buy next question I currently own a165 what is a good daily piece for 6 and2 in wrist for frequent Travelers B9 on an oyster Flex Sky well for you guys that don't know w165 is a rose gold 40 mil oyster Flex yach Master very popular watch and then if you've got 6 and 1/2 in which I think that look pretty decent size to be fair because for most of my clients that buy that watch it looks and wears a little bit smaller than for mil which is why it's become more of a unisex watch if you're eyeing an O to flex skyle that is a much bigger watch that is a 42 mm but not only is it wide in fact I can show you a got a balloon to show you here so you know it's a 42 mm watch obviously this is on the Jubilee we're talking about the oyster flex but the care size is much deeper much rounder you know it's got much bigger profile than the the Y master and it looks and wears like a 42 mm watch so if you've got a 6 and 1 12 wrist and you're your frequent traveler I would advise not choosing that watch if you were here at the boutique I would say to you let's look at some other options I don't think it's the best watch for you if you're looking at something frequent Travelers I mean I just go o us to flex Daytona it's like the best one you can buy you know pricewise to Sky yes it's going to cost you some more money on the gray Market but you know you you will your always you can have rose gold yellow gold white gold yes it obviously doesn't have like the GMT function which a obviously travel watch W if you were to going down that line i' advise going down the GMT range but certainly if you're looking at something in the O Flex range and you like the rose gold yach Master 40 for me I would go oyster Flex Daytona 1 million. which Rolex model do you think will have doubled in value in 10 years that is a very difficult one I mean 10 years A lot can happen in the the watch Market Relic Market in 10 years one of the ones that probably the biggest potential and quite spoke about the last few weeks is the the lamons you know the white gold day that we had a short run few months been discontinued people asking like quarter a million plus for that watch now you know is it realistic not really I think that's a few years down the line price but you know I mean that's got potential to just go massive that watch it's just such a short run we have obviously the old favorites of you know the Pepsis the Sprites of these were discontinued you know the panda day tone iconic that's a really collectible watch where they've been 10 years honestly nobody really knows hi Charlie why do you think there are so many negative comments on the sea dwellers in Golden steel and the new all gold deep sea lots of positive comments on some Mars in the same Metals the only thing I can think there Matthew is because of the size it rules out so many buyers you know 44 mil the big watches we sld to the big guys there's probably 10% of the market want the bigger watch 9% of the market want the 40 41 M somewhere around there depending on the model and that's why I see so much talk of Submariner and all the other models day to as you name it date just all in that range it's kind of just one of those things I just don't think it's it's kind of like the one where people find is The Sweet Spot and I think because it looks and wears like a 43 or 44 mm watch unfortunately it rules out you know 90% of the actual Market next question hi Charlie with the release of the black gray GMT this year do you think the demand for the Pepsi will drop much at all is there a color combo on the GMT Bez that you'd like to see relx make that they haven't offered before yeah I think the demand for that is going to be extremely high it's the same sort of Market obviously as the Pepsi the blue and red Pepsi as we all know still in production now for at least another year the Pepsi has its own audience it's such a covered watch it's most people's Grill to be fair I don't think it'll ever beat that I don't think it ever can be beat that is it beautiful yes has it got two tone bezel yes does it come the oyster and Jubilee yes you know where will that trade in the market I still think it'll trade less than the Pepsi you know retail thats just below 10K gr market price 14 or 15 I'm going to say once it hits the market I think that'll be The Sweet Spot the Pepsi will always command a higher price it's that special watch I actually did a full video on it I actually wore that watch for a week so if you not seen it check it out on the channel but certainly for me it will not beat the Pepsi that has got its own audience and it's so so coveted would I like to see any other calls from Rolex on the GMT bezel yeah possibly you know what I'd like to say I'd like to say right hand drive right I think that' be really popular and it's such an easy fix for Rolex if you're watching just you know get it done it's just like 2minute job maybe not 2 minutes but it is it is an easy fix and for me you know I think it'd be one that would be definitely in demand obviously in demand as much as the new GMT and yeah I mean come on Rolex pull your fing out hope you enjoyed this video YouTube thinks you should watch this video next [Music]
