Which River Cruise company is right for you? Learn about Ama, Avalon and Viking River Cruise!

let's compare three of my favorite River Cruise companies Amma waterways Avalon waterways and Viking River Cruises if you've ever sailed with any of these three companies or any other River Cruise Company please leave a comment below because I know others would love to hear your opinion as well let's start things off by talking about Amma waterways each of their ships are uniquely designed although they do follow the same aesthetic across the river cruise line opting for more of those darker or more muted Lu luxurious colors and Rich fabrics and textures the ships with Amma waterways offer a variety of room categories ranging from a standard room two French balcony rooms two rooms that have both an inside and an outside balcony they're also going to have a sweet level room but it really depends on which ship you're sailing on with ammo waterways you're going to get a choice in included excursions this is going to be typically two or maybe three excursions per Court um and those excursions are going to be things like bike rides hiking tours classic walking tours or more experiential things such as food tastings or wine tastings now what sets Amma waterways apart is the food on board unlike the other two Cruise Lines Amma waterways has two dining options on board they have their restaurant that you can sit at every night but then at the back of the ship they also have a space called The Chef's Table where they'll have a special tasting menu and you can go ahead and make a reservation at the chef's table included in your River Cruise now let's talk about Avalon waterways the ships for Avalon waterways kind of follow the same Aesthetics as Amma waterways using some of those more darker richer colors on board that has really a feeling of luxury unlike other River Cruise Lines you will not find true outside balconies on Avalon waterways but instead they've opted to fill their ships with their pants Panorama suet balconies that essentially give that outside space back to the inside of your room and allow you to have giant double doors that open into a 7ft wide opening really turning your entire room into an outside balcony it is absolutely stunning on top of that they have their classic fixed window or standard rooms on the first floor for those who are looking for a little bit of cost savings similar to Amma waterways Avalon has a wide selection ction of options for their excursions that are included in the river cruise Fair they class these into three categories classic which will be your classic walking tour active which will be things such as bike rides or hikes and experiential which are going to be activities such as food tasting cooking classes painting classes and Wine Tours food on Avalon waterways is not going to disappoint anyone they have a buffet for breakfast as well as an alart menu for lunch they serve as a buffet or an alak cart menu as well and for dinner it is a seated table service where the menu changes daily based on the region that you're sailing in the third option we're going to talk about is of course Viking River Cruises this one is definitely a household name and I will say that I do appreciate their aesthetic on board their ships the most each Viking long sh is designed exactly the same so when you're on board if you sail One River to the next you're going to have the same experience they've opted for those lighter colors the Scandinavian style and it really brings a lot of warmth and light to the ship while you're sailing now I will say my favorite place on any river cruise ship is the aqua Terrace which is located at the front of the ship in front of the main Lounge area and this is a spectacular place for lounging and relaxing it was my favorite place to take breakfast in the morning because that morning sunshine would come in and just warm everything up now the big difference between Emma Avalon and Viking is the inclusions for the excursions Viking is very specific in the type of guest that they're looking for and so because of that they only offer a classic walking tour now I don't want you to mistake that with the idea that it would be boring to go on a classic walking tour every day because the guides that take you really bring their personality to the tour and you're really going to see what they're in interested in so one guide might be interested in quirky history another one in architecture and another one might be interested in art so each time you tour it is going to be a unique experience food on Board bking River Cruises like the other two Cruise Lines will not disappoint they're phenomenal at changing the menu based on the region that you're sailing in so you're really going to get a taste of that region and the flavors while you're on board I definitely did not leave any of my river cruises hungry so to sum it all up if you are more active or you like to have more Hands-On experiences and perhaps you're a little bit on the younger side then absolutely consider Emma or Avalon if you are huge into food and that is a big consideration for you then Amma definitely takes the lead on that one if your vision of a river cruise is sailing with like-minded people who like art culture history and architecture then absolutely consider a Viking river cruise cuz you were going to find more of your people on board there I
