WHICH CRICUT MACHINE SHOULD YOU BUY | CRICUT MACHINE BUYING GUIDE 2021

[Music] welcome back to my channel i'm really excited for this video because it has been my most frequently asked question for years which cricut machine should i buy and which one is the right fit for me i think it comes down to what type of crafts or projects you want to make with the cricut and what's in your budget there are currently five qriket machines out on the market when this video is being made we have the cricut explore air 2 the cricut joy the cricut maker and here i have the qriket maker 3 which is the newest machine released qriket also came out with the qriket explore air 3 which i don't own there are other machines out there that you might currently have but are discontinued and not being sold anymore i'm only going to talk about the ones currently sold in this video i want to talk about the price of each machine the similarities and the differences and what type of crafter can benefit from each one hopefully this will help you decide which cricut machine is the best fit for you i only found a few similarities between all five machines every single machine uses bluetooth technology this means you can connect your qriket machine to your computer ipad or phone and you can cut without needing a usb cord another similarity is they all use the cricut design space software to create your projects that the cricut will cut out also all five of them cut a few similar materials like vinyl iron-on and cardstock now i'm just going to talk about each machine i'm going to start with the cricut explore air 2. the retail value on this machine is 249.99 these machines go on sale all the time so i would definitely wait to purchase them when they are on sale you can buy the machines directly through cricut and if you sign up for qriket access you'll receive a discount there are several other places you can purchase this machine as well such as michael's amazon walmart target want to show a few different features with this machine it has a dial on top where you can choose the most common material settings but you can also switch it to custom to choose from several more in cricut design space it also has a slot for cricut cartridges this is what cricut used to use for images before their cricut design space software so i believe you can still use this but if you are getting started with cricut i wouldn't bother with the cartridges at all because you can choose from thousands of images online so for me this never gets used this machine is very popular in the cricut community and now i want to talk about what it can do it can cut 100 plus materials including vinyl iron-on cardstock faux leather bonded fabric and more this machine also has print and cut capabilities you can make stickers and several other projects with that you can also use the foil transfer tool to make embellishments on several materials this machine is compatible with six tools the standard fine point blade the bonded fabric blade which gives you a little more variety with extra material that you can cut the deep point blade if you're wanting to cut a little thicker of material the scoring stylus the foil tool and it also has drawing capabilities even though you can use the bonded fabric blade and deep point blade if you are wanting to cut thicker material or fabric a lot you'll most likely want to go with the cricut maker and i'll talk about that in a little bit the max material width that you can cut with the explore air 2 is 12 inches and the max length is 1.9 feet which is about 22 inches so now the big question what type of crafter can benefit from this machine i feel like this is a great beginner machine if you are completely new to the cricut world you can cut popular materials on this like vinyl iron-on and cardstock and you also have the print and cut feature as well so if you are looking to make vinyl decals t-shirts cards stickers diy home decor and so much more this is an excellent machine for you it is also a great option if you are on a budget next i'm going to talk about the cricut maker machine the retail value on this machine is 399.99 once again you can find it on a much better sale so definitely look out for those the qriket maker does everything the cricut explore air 2 can do but has several added features the qriket maker has 10 times the cutting force in cuts 300 plus materials which includes everything i mentioned with the qriket explore air 2 plus basswood chipboard leather fabric those are just a few of the extra materials this also has print and cut capabilities as well this machine uses an adaptive tool system which allows cricut to expand the amount of tools or blades this machine can use this machine is compatible with 13 tools which include the fine point blade the rotary blade for cutting fabric the knife blade for cutting wood and thicker materials the scoring wheel to create creases and folds for like cards the foil transfer tool it has drawing capabilities and it also has the quick swap tools which include the debossing blade perforation blade wavy blade and engraving tool i might do a separate video all on tools since it is a lot the max material width and length is the same as the cricut explore air 2 which is 12 inches for the width and 1.9 feet for the length now what type of crafter can benefit from this machine you'll want to think about what type of crafts you want to do and if you think that it will change or evolve as you continue to craft if you don't want to be limited to what type of projects you want to make or materials you can cut this is a great machine for you if you are wanting to use your machine to cut fabric this machine is a must-have also if you're wanting to cut several different types of material such as leather or wood this is a must-have for that as well this machine is more pricey than the explore air 2 but there has been some excellent sales for this machine recently next i'll talk about the qriket joy machine the retail value on this machine is 179.99 and like i've mentioned you can find this on sale and do not need to pay the full retail price as you can see this machine has no buttons you'll select everything on your computer it also has only one slot for the blades and pins the machine is also very compact and lightweight compared to the other machines the cricut joy cuts 50 plus materials including vinyl iron-on cardstock smart materials this machine does not have the print and cut capabilities the cricut joy has three tools the fine point blade the foil transfer tool and has drawing capabilities as well these tools only fit in the qriket joy machine because of the unique size they aren't interchangeable with the explorer or maker this machine has some unique features that the other two that i talked about do not have you can cut without a mat with this machine to do that however you must use the cricut smart vinyl material the material size you can cut is very different you can cut up to 5.5 inches for the width which is limited compared to the other machines but you can cut up to 20 feet long with this in just one single go using smart vinyl you can also easily make cards with the cricut joy machine the cricut joy uses a card mat which makes it super simple and fast to make cards for different occasions which crafter can benefit from the cricut joy machine i think the qriket joy is a great companion machine to the explore air 2 or the maker if you do not have a crafting space or if you have a limited space this machine is so awesome for that or if you travel a lot and want to craft on the go this machine is great for vinyl labels and decals some smaller iron-on projects and card making if you want to make banners or longer cuts this would be a great machine for that as well if you want to make print thin cut projects you will not want this machine because it does not have the feature for me if i want to quickly put a project together i like to pull out this machine the last two machines i want to talk about are the cricut explore air 3 and the cricut maker 3. these are the newest machines on the market they came out in may of 2021 they are similar to the other machines but have some added features i do not own the cricut explore air 3 machine but i am showing you here the cricut maker 3 machine the explore air 3 is 299 and the qriket maker 3 machine is 399.99 the qriket explore air 3 cuts the same amount of materials and uses the same tools as the cricut explore air 2 machine the cricut maker 3 also cuts the same amount of materials and uses the same tools as the cricut maker but there are some upgrades with this these machines you are able to cut matlace using both machines using cricut smart vinyl which includes vinyl and iron-on this means you are not limited to the length of the cutting mat you can use a cutting mat as well with any brand of vinyl if you like you can cut up to 13 inches wide and up to 12 feet long in one go with these machines compared to 1.9 feet long for the original machines you can also purchase the qriket roll holder to use with the smart vinyl which i find really convenient it even has a paper cutter to cut the vinyl when the cricut is done cutting these machines also cut the materials two times faster than the original ones and honestly i was shocked when i first used it how fast it actually does cut but it is still very precise and mine has been making very nice cuts so which crafter can benefit from these machines if you are happy with your current machine i do not think you need to upgrade to these however if you've had your qriket machine for a while and are looking for a new one i think these would be a great option to upgrade depending on your crafting needs if this is your first machine and if it's in your budget either machine it could be a great option the cricut maker 3 is the top of the line cricut cutting machine if that is something that you are
