WHICH AUDIO INTERFACE SHOULD YOU BUY IN 2021?

what's up youtube universe this is jacob dark it's 2021 and today i want to talk about three audio interfaces that i personally had in my hands to review and test that i recommend if you're looking to buy a new audio interface this year now whether you're a first timer with a budget of a hundred dollars someone who has some experience and wants a kind of great all-arounder with a 300 budget or somebody who wants top of the line pristine audio quality with a 500 budget i've got you covered if you find today's video helpful be sure to give it a thumbs up now let's not waste any more time and get into today's video [Music] if you're a gamer looking to start streaming maybe you're going to start a podcast or just start that first time home studio and you don't want to spend too much money to get started the audient evo 4 may be just what you need coming in at 129 this small portable interface allows you to connect up to two microphones a set of studio monitors and is usb-c powered on the front you'll find an instrument input and headphone output it features loopback which is huge for you streamers out there and basically lets you route things so that you can hear your microphone and your computer audio at the same time so viewers hear you and the game simultaneously even bigger than that is the smart gain feature with smart gain you don't have to worry about setting your mic level too low or too loud simply press the smart game button then the input press smart gain again and start speaking or singing when the led flashes once the led stops flashing your mic level is set and you're good to go if you're finding yourself overwhelmed with the many options out there audient has made it super easy by offering the audient evo start recording bundle with this package you get your audio interface your microphone a microphone shock mount a set of headphones and a mic cable for 249 dollars i personally tested and reviewed this product and i can tell you right now you'd be hard-pressed to find much of a difference between that and the usual setup that i use which costs hundreds of dollars more if you don't believe me just check my channel for that video for those who want a step up in quality and have a bit more budget to work with i'm going to recommend the audient id14 mark ii which retails at 299 dollars it's usbc powered has a jfet instrument input and two headphone outputs on the front but where this unit shines is on the back you get two clean mic pre line inputs an adat connection so you can connect an external preamp and get an additional eight channels and something no other interface in this price range has two yes two trs outputs so you can connect up to two sets of monitors that in itself is a huge win add the improved dynamic range over the mark 1 and the id14 mark ii is a no-brainer you know i've been uploading to youtube for years now very part-time-ish just every now and then and i'm finally giving it a full-fledged effort to sets of headphone outputs and like the others is usb-c powered of all the interfaces i've tested the zengo has the lowest latency and best converters i've tested with 127 db dynamic range it stands apart with built-in dsp which has 37 synergy core effects including eqs and compressors which can be used real time when tracking on the way in if you're coming from another interface you'll instantly notice the difference in converter quality as music becomes more immersive punchy and 3d if you want the recent no holds barred undisputed quality champion the zen go is the ticket there is one more audio interface worth mentioning that i unfortunately was not able to get my hands on and that is the black lion revolution it retails at has two mic line inputs one headphone output s pitiff ins and outs is usb c powered and has a set of trs outputs for monitors while that all seems pretty standard they claim the revolution has pro-grade converters and clocking which really make this unit shine as a pretty nice bonus when you purchase the revolution you get a copy of presonus studio one artist if you're not familiar with black lion they've been modding audio interfaces for years improving performance and just making them better i would have loved to have given you some real world user experienced feedback but unfortunately i was not able to get a hold of anyone at black lion so black
