When Young Cristiano Ronaldo HUMILIATED Arsenal

now in 2003 a young Cristiano Ronaldo joined man united from Sporting Lisbon for a whopping 12.24 million and little did I know that this transfer would change the way I viewed football see in 2003 when Cristiano Ronaldo joined man united I was alive but I wasn't actually alive like if you're below the ages of five are you contemplating anything that is going on in your life let alone football probably not so in the Years leading up to my misery Ronaldo was on the come up and he definitely showed promise because in his first season with man united his first goal was a free kick against Portsmouth in a 3-0 Victory and even though it bounced past the goalkeeper it was a foreshadowing of what was to come of Cristiano Ronaldo for multiple Seasons he proved why he was one of the best players in the Premier League and in the 2006/7 season he made his breakthrough scoring 23 League goals in a campaign that saw Man United United win the league then in the 0708 season he was instrumental in man United's Champions League campaign scoring a whopping eight goals in the competition he was also the Premier League top goal scorer this season getting 31 goals and due to that season he was given the balandor starting off the era known as the Ronaldo and Messi era where they dominated the balandor and while a young Cristiano Ronaldo was living his dream I was about to experience a nightmare because in the next couple of Seasons I jib began to start watching football it was 2008 and jib did not care about football the main things I was focused on was food pooing dinosaurs and maybe Timothy goes to school you are more likely to see me watching K-Pop videos on YouTube than watching Cristiano Ronaldo highlights and up until this point Ronaldo had 110 goals for Man United I had zero now this year changed everything for me this is when I first actually sat down and decided I'm going join in you know you guys are watching football I'm going sit down and take this in two and I decided to support the one and only Arsenal blindly of course because all my family supported Arsenal so I was given blind Promises of hearing about this guy called tierion re you know I was going to see him balling out on the pitch scoring 20 goals per game I didn't know the rules of football back then so I thought this was possible but that brother had left I was there watching a TV screen with Addy bayor at that time I only watched Arsenal and specifically in the Champions League this is because back then the Champions League was free to watch it would be on the normal basic channels that you'd get with the TV and any other games that you would have to watch you would pay for a subscription and in this season surprisingly we were doing great it was 2009 and after making it out of the group stage Arsenal faced as Roma in the round of 16 and after a narrow win in the first leg for a vampirey penalty they're standing olympico was calling our name and as Franchesco toti and his Spartans line up things were about to get depressing and it happened real fast because in 9 minutes Juan Roma's Center back at the time made it 1 n now Roma were playing us off the park in this round of 16 second leg and arsenal were lucky to even make it to Pence Eduardo would miss the first penalty but the fire was still burning in the Arsenal team's hearts and with sudden death commencing in the penalty shootout it was tetto that sent the ball into a different Stratosphere leaving spall's men slumped arsenal were through to the quarterfinals next we Face Villa royel who beat panhan 32 on aggregate in the previous round and I knew nothing about Villa Royale I vividly remember calling them the team in yellow SpongeBob team and now looking back on it in recent history Villa Royale has come back to haunt Arsenal fans couple years ago they knocked us out of the Eur eura League I hate it a 1-1 draw in the first leg had me questioning reality as a child but I thought to myself when SpongeBob team come to the Emirates it's game over goals from Walcott Addy bayor and Van Percy helped Arsenal achieve a 41 Victory on agrea sending us in to a semi-final draw but next up reality would give us a punch in the face as we drew man united in the Champions League semi-final I got can now The only positive going into this game that I was completely oblivious of because I was so young is that Ronaldo wasn't having his best campaign considering previous Seasons his numbers weren't up to scratch but in the previous game in the Champions League Ronaldo had scored an absolute worldy against Porto so of course I was shook and it didn't help that the Champions League Channel itself would do this WWE like trailer of the game scaring the living lights out of me like they would have Ronaldo clips of him just scoring from 40 yards out and you know I'm just there like are we going to really play this guy and in the first leg the Gunners traveled to Manchester and it was about to get Messi no pun intended but in reality the first game was a quiet one with John O'Shea scoring the only goal in the game Man United winning 1-0 and Ronaldo being held at Bay this was a 1-0 loss but a loss that we would take we were going back to the emeralds we were sure to have some sort of fight about us but looking back on it I should have known you know you don't give Cristiano Ronaldo two legs against a team you know he might fail in the first game but in the second game he's just going to be like you know what I don't actually want to lose so we're going to win but maybe because it's at the Emirates it might make a difference no this was like Arsenal coming up against the yonko from One Piece like the the Pinnacle like a final boss in a game this was something that we wouldn't even fathom of beating Ronaldo you know we're not even talking about the rest of the squad like even even if you fight this guy the first time and come out unscathed the next time you fight this Beast he's going to kill you so the semi-final was underway and Arsenal lined up with their best possible 11 at the time the only real weaknesses of that Squad is that it was a very young Squad and also our right center back was juru as for Man United Squad I'm not even going to read out the rest of the players because Ronaldo was on the team they also had obviously Rooney wow now s minutes in Kieran Gibbs slipped and gong capitalized on the slip and put the ball in the back of the net 2- n on aggreg then 9 Minutes in the moment that Ronaldo was about to ruin my entire childhood was about to take place B persy gives away a foul and it's pretty far out so I make nothing of it but Doom doesn't discriminate Cristiano Ronaldo lines up to take this impossible free kick runs up and blasts it it shoots straight through the grasp of almunia into the back of the net [Music] how are we going to stop this guy it felt like a gunshot followed by silence 3-0 on aggregate Ronaldo had killed the hopes of all Arsenal fans silencing the crowd and also he had killed the hopes and dreams of me a kid thinking that arsenal were going to beat man united in this semifinal and make it to the final of the Champions League Ronaldo tormented our defense all game and even followed up with another goal but it didn't mean anything to me because a young Arsenal Fan's dreams had already been crushed with a 35 meter shot free kick as well the game ended 4-1 on aggregate with Van persy scoring a consolation penalty and I Was Defeated man united went on to lose the final against Barcelona but it did not ease the pain that I felt from losing that second leg and after losing that semi-final Arsenal have never been closer to a champion I League final since The Following Season Cristiano Ronaldo would join Real Madrid in what was the most expensive transfer in the history of football at the time and he also went from my biggest football villain to one of if not my biggest football Inspirations from losing to this guy to seeing him flourish at Real Madrid young Ronaldo was something else and I think being given this reality check by man united by Ronaldo in my first Seas season of watching football helped me stick it out and become the faithful Arsenal fan that I am today so thank you for delivering the pain that was that strike and unfortunately you
