a child finds drugs at home and turns him into police the person taken into custody his own mother this is Kendra long and this is what happened when her 9-year-old son busted her for dealing drugs went down on the 13th of July 2023 officers in Las Vegas Nevada received a call from Anthony Cruz a concerned father asking them to check on his son Austin when officers arrived at the home they were quite literally handed all the evidence they needed hello how are you well thank you so we were called to come check on your son okay yeah he got my phone in the bathroom for like an hour can I come right she was in fact in some trouble further investigation and text messages revealed that Kendra long was running a drug trafficking operation out of her home while her little boy was around faced with the possibility of arrest she tried to pass on the blame to her friend her boyfriend and even her ex-husband anybody but herself since once she's all be done all question will be stopped you understand all that um basically don't talk to us and if you do it will be used against you in court of law so um we're kind of pretty much done I just wanted to run the thing by you again that's that's news to you that whole bag of white powdery substance is like not yours not mine not even like anyone I can think of that I know would be associated with that we did test it and it did return positive for methamphetamine I didn't know they must have um so yeah it is positive now um we're going to forward this on to our narcs our narcotics officers you know maybe you have a change of heart maybe you want to talk to them me I um I'm just letting you know that they're going to get to copy the report you may want to talk to them that might help your situation out you know if you do you can ask any officer that you run in contact with um but at this point you're are going to be placed under arrest for possession of control substance I'm literally on I understand you can disagree all you want that's fine I I don't understand it okay your child found a bag of oh my God presumptively tested positive for methampetamine under your nightstand I that that's your right to say that but the way our laws work if we have Reon or probable cause to believe that a crime occurred and you're within our we can make that arrest so you have shoes I know I don't understand this like literally who abuse she plad guilty to one felony count of conspiracy to violate the uniform Controlled Substances Act and a gross misdemeanor charge of child abuse neglect and endangerment Kendra was sentenced to 24 months on probation her son was picked up by his father on the night of her arrest and is currently living with him Anthony Cruz now has full custody of Austin this is 36-year-old Jackie and this charged with battery and resisting arrest she was released from jail 2 days later and both charges were eventually dropped an Albuquerque mother accused of leaving her young children to fend for themselves exposing one of them to meth that and even shooting one of them in the foot went before a judge today to plead guilty this is 27-year-old Samantha Sanchez and she has a track record of abusing and abandoning her children one of her earliest cases of abuse was documented on the 19th of October 2021 officers in Albuquerque New Mexico received a 911 call reporting two very young kids being left alone by their mother in a studio apartment officers rushed to the scene to find a distressed 7-year-old girl and her 9-month-old brother just the other girls okay mom's not back yet no plea deal leading guilty to attempted battery and abandonment of a child charges approximately 6 months later Samantha was arrested again after she shot her little boy's toes off during a fight with her boyfriend she was charged with two counts of child abuse to which she plad guilty and was given a suspended sentence of one year in jail and 5 years of probation our next case takes us to a block of apartments in Youngstown Ohio on the 7th of March 2023 officers received a call about a 5-year-old boy crying for help in the neighborhood officers immediately rush to the scene and by the time encounter with a group of juvenile delinquents somehow turned into an arrest for driving Under the Influence it all went down on the 20th of March 2022 officers on patrol noticed three kids throwing alcohol while the officer was still scaring them straight a vehicle came up speeding from behind them only stopping a short distance from the officer's patrol car inside the vehicle was 49-year-old Kristen Wy and her 9-year-old son crying in the back seat I what are you doing what are you doing what are you doing you almost ran into our car we got kids up here what are you doing shut the car put they also noticed that her eyes were watery and bloodshot as you can imagine the officers had a few questions for her ma'am you know you were speeding I thought I no I didn't I'm like Ma so you're saying that I am no I I didn't see you speeding that's what you're telling me you almost ran into the car I'm not I'm not I'm not I'm not I'm not not doing anything have you had anything to drink house okay and um we were coming home and then I saw the cop car and then I I told her to stop and then even though Kristen refused to fess up to her inebriation her little boy was not going to let her lie to the police with a child safely out of the car the officers could turn their attention to the three juveniles and the very angry parent that showed up listen I'm going have you stand I'm going to have you stand behind this patol car right here okay no longer at my house you no longer my house he's got nothing to do with it well that that I just all of them okay okay he's got nothing thrw something at me in the car what if it was my car ma'am this is a perfect example this lady we have flashing lights on she's coming almost rear ends this car with the three of them I had to grab them and pull them off the car it's dark and we got flashing lights this lady I'm pretty sure he drunk oh right on top of it and that's another perfect example if they're out in the side of the road throwing stuff and there's no flashing lights this lady would have as one parent disciplined her child for his Reckless actions another parent continued to deny driving recklessly while Under the Influence do remember when I told you about juie remember when I told you they put you I should let him take you for the night and stick you over there and see what it's like me with all those kids that don't have their parents who disobey who can't follow rues and see if that's where you want to be the whole rest of your life in your future so no I should I should let him take you for the night and stay there for a night or two and see how you like it hey stop worry about yourself it's got nothing to do with you really yes oh my God oh my God this this is the second time I had a deputy have to call me and once's at work yes I do do you think that's fair I'm so disappointed with you they are not allowed to hasard anym your Xbox is gone for a month I don't want to hear anything I'm going to start putting cameras up in the house because I can't trust you you pull it behind this mustang let me go home I oh my God I'm not drunk please let me go home I'm a teacher I'm at school I'm at the freaking high school please I'm not a mess please Kristen continued to insist she was perfectly sober however when the officers asked her to prove how sober she was with some field sobriety exercises things started to get a little difficult after you had drinks you got it behind your wheel of your car and you drove with my kid please ma'am I'm asking question let go home I'm a teacher I work at the high school let me go home I didn't do a bad thing I'm telling you I all right ma'am right now I don't believe that you have the capability of driving a motor vehicle on a roadway oh my God would you like to perform some exercises no I wouldn't okay so I got nothing to prove for you all right so I'm going to let you know right now if you deny doing these exercises you can be placed under arrest and they can go against your criminal I know so I'm let you know if you refuse to do the exercises you can be placed all right ma'am when you're done talking I'll talk go ma'am when you're done exercises to either disprove or prove that you are intoxicated or not I am not intoxicated I swear to God I just want to go home with my child and do you want to do the exercises or not what what do exactly how drunk she was and that she would not be passing any field sobriety tests that evening in fact according to the officers once Kristen was in custody she was given a breathalyzer test and she blew A2 2 4 much higher than the legal limit of 8 all right you a favor my baby pleas no you don't understand please ma'am no you got to come over to my car I don't want to have to drag you I'm ask you ni can you walk over here I don't want to do that please let me go and your son's right now I don't want to do that in front of your either can you walk over here yes of course let's walk oh back from our friend's house and coming down and then I said I saw the car and I told her to slow down and it was like at the last second she started to go on the brakes and I thought she would see it all right open the door all right so as long as you're good I just want to make sure you're good okay I'm concerned about you okay stay stay right here okay I you get door no stop I I just went into the front of my car and I can smell it like I'm hot right now too God please talk to me why are you screaming I'm why you I'm worried about I won't talk to you until you calm down please talk to me I
