managing identity and access for aws using octa is now better than ever octa a leading independent provider for the enterprise and aws the world's most comprehensive cloud platform have partnered together and built a new integration with aws sso enhancing operations management and security for both it admins and end users so what's new i t admins can connect octa to aws single sign-on where you can centrally manage permissions for users and groups and with full support of session tags permissions to aws accounts and applications can be as granular as needed providing end users the same convenient octa sign-in experience and single-click access to aws additionally with octa lifecycle management groups and users can now be automatically synchronized between octa and aws this means as users are onboarded in octa including those sourced from an hr system or through an existing directory integration they are simultaneously provisioned in aws sso aws sso then authorizes access to aws accounts and applications based on that user's group membership and using octa workflows aws sso entitlements management can be as flexible as you need resulting in a fully automated user lifecycle function across all your applications for example say a user joins a particular octa group that is assigned permissions to manage aws ec2 instances later on if that user is removed from the group that person automatically loses the permission to manage those ec2 instances not only does this simplify administration but it also reduces the security risk of unauthorized users gaining access to aws resources speaking of security aws sso administrators can also easily view a full audit trail of who did what and with synchronized user identities and groups there are clear demarcation boundaries so aws admins manage i am roles and map them to users and groups in aws sso and octa admins manage users and identities in octa separate responsibilities for separate admins but there's more developers who use the aws command line interface can now seamlessly sign in by their octa credentials and be presented with a step up challenge through octa multi-factor authentication this translates to increased productivity without sacrificing security with octa and aws enhanced integration experience single-click access to aws streamlined management clear demarcation boundaries and seamless authentication for developers using aws cli try octa and aws today
