What's New In Gatlinburg Walk Down The Parkway Tennessee 2021

hi everybody today we're here in gatlinburg and with our friend boa guard the bear we're going to take a walk through gatlinburg just to see what's what's new what's going on you ready done ready let's do this [Music] one of the most amazing things about gatlinburg is you can actually hike into the great smoky mountains national park with this two mile long trail called gatlinburg trail it's actually pet friendly and just a really nice walk one of the questions we get asked a lot is how much is parking in town now average is about 15 yeah so it's been averaging about 15 dollars this gas station's been here as long as i can remember it's the last gas station heading into the national park and the gas prices are usually pretty pretty pricey here yeah it's 320 a gallon where you can get it like 271 everywhere else but if you need gas you'll have to get it here but we're going to take a walk down down the strip aren't we dawn first we're going to cross over we're going to go up this side of the strip and then we're going to come back this way there's the nantahala outdoor center it's actually a really good place to go to get your hiking gear and just some of those unique camping things you might be looking for got hiking shoes and poles and everything you can imagine definitely recommend old dads cool little grocery store and deli got some pretty cheap eats in there definitely stay away from the coleslaw though right don't don't don't do the coleslaw oh i don't know yeah whiny but but we recommend it we just don't recommend the coleslaw and here's here's the park grill we we did a review in there once too uh you can go to our um playlist on restaurants in the gatlinburg pigeon forge area and we actually did a review there and there's the days in and and suites it's located right off the parkway and the prices are usually reasonable i'm not sure though like how that hotel compares to the others but i don't think it's as nice savage garden isn't that a band name a rock and roll this is one of the most popular breakfast spots in gatlinburg crockett's we definitely recommend it they got this huge skillet in there that could feed too this is one of the hotels we want to stay in coming up here shortly it's called the black bear in and sweets it'd be really cool to get one of these balcony rooms like during a parade or something and the texas roadhouse is still empty over there nothing's really happened to it since they moved out warning bear feeding is prohibited don't feed the bears there's luigi's over there we've actually ate there before we have a review of it in our gatlinburg inn video it was pretty good i actually had a friend married here at sugarland chapel it's still here cal hoons we actually have a review in our library on that one too we've actually done every single restaurant in gatlinburg yes and uh we have a review on get on calhoun's and here is the cherokee and grill we've actually here and we we enjoyed ourselves it's got really good steaks and i got a prime rib in there i believe this is chris and mindy's favorite restaurant here in gatlinburg at least i heard them say that and then back here a smoky mountain brewery that's the gatlinburg location back there there's also a bunch of little shops and and artisans and stuff back there but cherokee grill and it's located across some over gatlinburg smoky mountain brewery says they have the best pizza and beer in town i love this little water feature they got these these lily pads in there those little flowers are they're pretty i think they call them lotuses maybe i'm wrong with that they're real and they're blooming the aerial tramway ii the iconic ober gatlinburg definitely an old-school must here in gatlinburg the trams are running daily we also have a review of howard steaks in our restaurant playlist what did you think about howards it was okay it was okay it was okay it wasn't like bad and it wasn't like all that but it was it was pretty good they're cowboy rib eyes about 41. 36 for the rib eye so we're averaging between 40 and 50 for a steak porterhouse 53. their burgers are 10 to 12 dollars uh cordon bleu 15. um half slab of hickory smoked ribs is 18. so their prices are not too bad for a steakhouse quesadilla 14. there's the hampton inn there they also have a gem mine right off the parkway don't they and there's a little slip you'll find gallenberg having a lot of these little these little alley slips here this one here is alex plaza um they have a nice little hot dog place called hot diggity dog over there definitely some some gift shopping and then straight ahead is one of the two best italian places and we're not promoting it being the best but they say in their name that they are the best you got this wood carving of of jesus here this is actually pretty cool here this is newer a little tribute to the men and women who served in the armed forces they have each one of the armed services represented here very very cool there's an old time portrait a little gift store called gatlinburg's best tgi fridays and the melting pot over there a little jewelry store here and leather and of course a time share you want to stay away from them all together endless supply of gift stores so behind the strip here there's a lot of hotels the summit manor is up there definitely uh a plethora of gift stores here in gatlinburg this electrical box has turned into a sticker place to put your stickers anyways this guy here is is getting punched i wonder what the purpose of that is and this is the new location of of shoney's here used to be further down the strip down near earthquake to ride and absolutely nothing is going on with the royal townhouse they wanted to redo it put a new hotel and stuff in here but from what i understand the plants have been foiled for that at the moment it's been vacant for at least a couple years now you know laconte view there it's a nice little hotel have friends that stay there all the time they they really enjoy it and here at the convention center they added new ramps to make it more accessible and they redone the front of it quite a bit new cement and they actually removed the old flower box over here at the gatlinburg sign and here's the gatlinburg sign you can actually go behind it now that's what dawn's doing back there got that donnie there's a bear you can get the whole family back there right of course gatlinburg is known for their bearers and for dawn there's the circus golf and amazing maze over there parkway boutique and parkway gifts they have a starbucks and paula deen hollywood star cars ripley's haunted adventure and this is where that that stumpy guy lives isn't it don is that that's where stumpy lives he's not probably home right now he's not home he he flings open the doors and usually screams at you doesn't he i think instead of punch time he hates greens right there ah this is a ripley's haunted adventure and i got the ripley's 5d with there you are area is done the dripless dinosaur he's up there he's always looking for someone to come by and he'll get a snack happy family ride and it race rats extreme here's the menu for bubba gumps they have shrimp net catch for 26 they got calamari for 11.49 they have soups and salads about 17 plus dollars they have sandwiches that are ranging about 15. they have margaritas from the farm you can actually get fried chicken for 19. ribeye for 30. you got mellow mushroom dick's last resort you also have some old smoky moonshine got the shoot em up cinema five guys and baskin robbins we're here at one of the main intersections in gatlinburg and it doesn't look too busy today does it of course the kids are like back in school but there's a lot to do in this intersection of course the space needle being just above us got the arcade that's below it you got a pinball museum over there you also have the crazy mason which is across the street and smith and sun's here in the corner so it's a very happening corner and this is where they shoot all the fireworks off for like uh new year's eve and some of the festivals they have it's just a real popular corner here more old-time portraits classic blades dawn you you gotta you gotta get a sword when you go to gatlinburg right he he gots to get a sword all kinds of unique things in there though and over here is the crazy mason now it's it's around noon and they've been having staffing issues here as you can see due to staffing our hours are tuesday through sunday from three to nine we haven't tried this crazy mason yet but we did try the one in myrtle beach where it started smith and son is here on the corner we got a review in our library on that restaurant really we've done all the restaurants in gatlinburg haven't we there's that place over there called carnival treats they got like that dragon's breath that makes you breathe like out your nose with smoke i don't know they also have a walgreens here's our menu they have double deluxe nachos for about ten dollars they have border chips for 747 they have a mama burger which is about 14 14 so at burgers are average between 13 and 14 they also have some catfish and they also have slow cooked ribs for 20 for a full rack chicken fried steak it's 15. so that's just some of the menu ripley's probably has the most unique building here in gatlinburg there's a huge huge dinosaur they also have a bear that's stuck in a tire southern style they also have that new shamrocks western saloon rooftop saloon up there you got a rooftop saloon don i know i see they have crawd crawdaddies god's grace is a little little christian gift store it's actually got some really unique unique things in there we also stay tonight at the historic gatlinburg inn pretty pretty interesting place one of the most convenient hotels to get out here on the strip you can also swim underneath the chair lift too which is quite fun of course you got the the sky lift park chairlift takes you up to north america's longest suspension bridge sweet that is like the biggest gumball machine ever you you see that don i don't think you'll get one this door has some unique unique tees don't it it's called the fab tees and souvenirs elk mont winery used to be maps they took out maps dawn i know they had some good ice cream in there i know i want ice cream you want ice cream yeah of course the old smoky candy kitchen this is definitely a nice little iconic stop here yes you can come over the window here and see them oh yeah the boxer you actually come over and watch them make taffy well they're not making any at the moment but normally you can you can see them making taffy in there they got the famous puckers lounge and then the china bazaar and cafe 420 and they have a town center plaza a lot of old-time photos definitely here in gatlinburg oh there's may filled ice cream they like mayfield you got to go where they make it didn't you yeah yeah well there's a you can get a taste of it right here they also have a little caramel candy company here and they have a southern moon and leather goods johnny rockets local borough on top of that jonathan's bare necessities actually a pretty cool little store over there they have a glass blower and peacocks and flamingos and there's the famous sketchy photo booth it's pretty you never know what you might find on the other side of this this curtain what do you think about the sketchy photo booth and somebody threw their garbage and cups in there yeah i know some people are just they have all-american and there's the new chicken guy there's still a lot of work to do over there i'm still guessing it's going to be around the holidays at the soonest [Music] and here's best italian's other location here on the parkway located next to birds and down the street from fanny farkles [Music] and looks like they're still working on the old illusions building and you can actually see the old hotel that used to sit there see the door there that was probably once a a hotel you can see the to the different rooms that's really really unique definitely an old definitely an old hotel sat there don you see that yeah are we doing that yeah they must be they like it and now they're gonna redo it yeah sometimes sometimes sometimes when they do new you find the old inside of it where this parking lot sits now used to be where shoni's sat years ago that's one cool cookie jar of course there's a bird's location here in gatlinburg gatlinburg wine cellar and here's the chocolate monkey the axe rolling up there gatlinburg axe house fanny farkles is definitely fun oh yeah they got the old little sausages and onions ooh they got some big foot longs there too here's another location of smoky mountain old smokey moonshine definitely get your your sampling on there right they got a lot of cool outdoor like wind chimes and just outdoor type stuff and they have the all sauced up i don't think they're doing the taste testing now because of the uh the mr mcnasty's anymore we used to go in there and do taste testing old town photos another old-time photo i got cbd oil dispensary [Music] because they have some stogies in there and then they have another chocolate monkey a couple doors down from the other one and a new new lemonade stand of course let's take a chip trip down the village here and see see what's going on see what's new a lot of good photo opportunities at the village here i got the donut fryer the cheese cup board coffee company cartoon and toys a pepper palace the candle cottage bone diggity bakery and gifts oh it's for like dogs they also have a little store here called the hayloff unique stores here at the village life is good that's definitely the truth to that the silver tree oh it's like a little silver uh jewelry store i got a little little irish celtic pub over here i wonder if it's new [Music] and the pancake pantry is a staple of gatlinburg oh my god there's the mountain mall been here as long as i can remember this is a really cool nostalgic store got all kinds of movie memorabilia and definitely man cave type things the clock peddler of gatlinburg i got some cuckoo clocks in there grandfather clocks unique teas and and gifts there and this store here doesn't want you to film no filming [Music] and there he is beau guard the bear of course welcoming people to the the mountain mall [Music] there's the rhythm section there all types of music and decals they also got movies in that too gatlinburg is that a dawn tree yeah so you got a new new photo op here don't they so here's a new like escape room but it's kind of like more futuristic a little more interactive it's called breakout used to be where the old guinness roller records used to sit here it looks like you play chess or something i don't know i put your pegs in the right order an old baskin square and little bear winery and free tastings we even have a restaurant review at the north china restaurant too earthquake the ride [Music] it was a nice day for a walk in downtown gatlinburg it was it was guys we had a great day here in gownburg we walked
