hey everybody I'm Christian with insurance apply company we have a lot of questions every day about what's in the 72 what makes it special we thought it'd be best just to take you through and give you a big long unpacking video and show you every feature of this great product so you order one it's gonna show up like this this is the box it's in you've got a bunch of great instructions here including what to add we don't ship this with water we don't ship it with your phone charging cable there's a couple pieces you want to add but very minimal otherwise it's ready to go like we ate like we say here just add water so get the Box open it up I've taken the top off here but 72 is going to come ready to go one of the things we found when we were researching the space was a lot of these kits would come and they weren't ready to go there's still work to be done and we talked to people to buy these things they assumed that they were ready to go so imagine you're somewhere and you needed you needed a knife but the knife is literally in a package that you need a knife to open that's not a good situation to be in so everything in here has been opened prepared and beyond adding water and the cable this thing is ready to go 600d tarpaulin so this is extremely durable extremely waterproof material that this this the 72 is made out of we call this the shell you know you see a lot of survival kits they're bright red that say emergency supplies on them well guess what if you're gonna see a 5,000 people fighting over food and supplies you don't want a backpack that says emergency supplies in here you become an inadvertent target because of that we made a nice heather gray looks great blends in in a crowd and doesn't make you an inadvertent target that said we did a few things the logo on here is hyper reflective if you're wandering around at night it adds visibility if a car light hits you or something it can be easily seen you're safer on the side here we've got a waterproof pocket and zipper it's a really big compartment here can fit a bunch of documents smartphone tablets cables whatever you want to put in there super easy access super fast on this side is your water bottle holder the water bottle actually ships inside here I'll pull that out in a second but once you get it fill it up with water put a couple drops of chlorine in there and put it right here you've got some attachment points on this side you know just very versatile if you want to hook anything on here or hang this thing up or whatever you need and then on the back we've got a sternum strap with an emergency whistle built-in now this thing is louder than you think so you've got a nice little way to get some attention there you've got hip straps which should carry most of the weight of this thing by the way it's thing only weighs eleven and a half pounds everybody thinks 3040 pounds it's superlight it's unbelievable hip straps will carry most of the weight and these hip straps also feature waterproof pockets that are big enough to carry the largest iPhones and Samsung's in them the back the stitching is our logo the dog head but it also creates a channel here which allows air to flow and keep your back cool and keep you from getting sweaty the bag is a roll top so why do we pick a roll top well anybody that's done any outdoor work knows that roll tops are great for a lot of reasons one they offer kind of some flexibility when it comes to how much capacity they have imagine zipping this thing tight and you turn to stuff stuff in there new zipper blows out that's never gonna happen here you roll this thing up you can roll it once twice three times four times depending on what you have in here and you've got kind of extra storage space the other cool thing about a roll top is it's super airtight if you see this I'm actually holding air in here from just doing that I've jumped off 20-foot cliffs with this thing trying to blow the air out of it it doesn't happen and that same bag then floated me down the river so if you're in a high water situation not a great swimmer a little freaked out you can put this thing up on your chest like this and it'll actually give you some flotation to get through something as you unzip this we did a couple things we put some reminders in here before you dig in air shelter water food so people always think the first thing they need is food and water false first thing you need is air there's a rule of threes that people talk about so three minutes without oxygen you're gone three hours without shelter in extreme situations you're not gonna last three days without water and three weeks without food so the first thing you should do is make sure you can breathe find shelter and then worry about water and food that's gonna give you a much better chance at surviving something on the other side one of our favorite reminders this was kind of inspired by Brian Warren he used to tell me this all the time when we'd be climbing it's like hey man slow is smooth and smooth is fast I always wanted to tear through things and go fast and advertently make mistakes along the way the best people in the world that navigate these situations are always very thoughtful they move slow and when you move slow you don't have to step back and you end up getting somewhere faster so let's open this thing up this is what we call the insert so no more digging through your backpack for one piece having things piled in there and not knowing where they are the insert protects it's got a hard plastic shell to it organizes and just gets you to your stuff faster the first thing we did is we printed color-coordinated graphics on the outside this will get you through everything from how to stay warm so how to start a fire to how to fix a broken bone and how to signal help you know a lot of times they get a little field manual in a in a backpack the pages get wet they rip out it's not a great solution this way everything's right here you get to it quickly on the back side we have extra backpack straps this is great because if you're out with somebody and you're lost and you need to carry extra supplies one of you guys can carry this and one you can fill the backpack up with whatever you need so a really effective way to double your carrying capacity right away finally one of my favorite features of the 72 you open this guy up features these hard polyurethane plastic panels in here we've pre-drilled these holes and also knots on them shot but done the velcro to allow access to these now the holes are designed for a couple things one you can put your foot down here wrap the paracord through and you've got a snowshoe the other thing is it's flexible enough where you can get your arm or your leg in there and make a sling or impromptu cast to help get you to a hospital and protect your broken bones these things also work great to flame a fire too to dig there's a lot of uses for a piece of plastic like that you got two of them on both sides all right let's open this thing up so what we have here is the inside of the 72 before we get into the pockets I'll talk about the water bottle this is a Nalgene brand bpa-free 48 ounce water bottle one of the things we did was instead of just leaving the regular scale on here with ounces we've got a little guide telling you how much water to drink and how often people get confused should I sip water all day should I drink it all at once well all the information you need is right here based on who you are it's a nice little feature so in this little pocket here I've got a flashlight this is a Cree 500 lumen flashlight it's got a an adjustable beam on it it's waterproof and one of the things we did just to make sure we're providing the highest quality stuff is we replaced all of the batteries with Douro cells so you can have a long use time on this guy we've we've spent a lot of time underwater with these things in extreme environments they last they work really well and they're extremely bright another nice feature about this is it has a little clip on it the clip is designed to work directly with the shoulder strap on the 72 so you just weave this under put the clip on and now you've got hands-free light operation at night which comes in really handy we put three elastic straps on each shoulder so depending on your shoulder size your width it adjusts to give you the appropriate spot to mount the flashlight matches are next this is a great little waterproof container full of 20 waterproof matches nothing too unusual here everybody knows how to use a match except that these are longer burn more durable matches that are going to work in really rough environments the multi-tool this is a small multi-tool admittedly this thing's really tough we've really beat these things up in testing and they don't fail it's got a needlenose plier a bottle opener a file a phillips screwdriver a knife and a few other pieces it's even got a little carabiner if you want to take it out attach it to your belt loop or the outside of your backpack to get to a quicker nice little piece to have we've also made a few extra spots in here you know one of the things we suggest is throwing in a few lighters what kind bic lighters are the best they're reliable they last forever you've got enough spots to add two or three more in here so we recommend a few of those and stick them in if you think of it up next is our electronics pouch inside here is this really cool little crank solar USB charger so you can plug this into your wall with the attached cable and charge it up it's got a solar panel and it's got a crank so let's say you've burned through your flashlight and you need more light you crank this thing it's going to provide you light in perpetuity it's a really bright little light in addition am/fm weather band radio and a USB charger so earlier I recommended you include your phone charging cable plug that in here crank away you can charge your phone up making sure you're always connected when the when the grid comes back up or when you get back into service this next pocket is labeled warmth tent blanket hat gloves hand warmers all in this one pocket pull it all out here and I'll go through one of the time so the first thing I'll talk about is our beanie we get a lot of feedback on this people are like why'd you put a pom on this thing this is survival well if you're in a wet environment you need to start a fire you need some dry kindling to get it going this beanie is a perfect solution for that cut it off you're not going to lose any use out of the Hat but you're gonna have a nice little fire starter here people have misconceptions about how much heat your head loses at the end of the day your head is 20% of the surface area of her body and wearing this hat is going to cover that and keep you warmer in cold climates we've upgraded our gloves from when we started building the 72 I've actually got an old pair right here originally we included these gloves these are great leather work gloves time tested if you're digging holes if you're in the heat if you're grabbing something hot these work great well they didn't work so great was in cold wet environments your hands would get cold you'd lose dexterity just wasn't a great solution in those environments so we've been searching for a better solution and we have found one these are acrylic thermal knit liner gloves they're dipped in nitrile and silicone so they're waterproof they've got really good dexterity they're extremely warm one size fits all and a massive upgrade on the gloves the hive is stuffed great too just to be seen when when you're in snow or sand or whatever so the gloves are a great feature a couple hand warmers I don't have to talk too much about these when you're cold you can't get warm these can be a game-changer Mylar blanket you know this technology while it's kind of everywhere this is developed by NASA this is a really amazing little piece to have no matter where you go I actually carry one of these with me all the time in my truck in my backpack when I'm mountain biking ours actually is two-sided one side is orange and one side is the reflective silver like you're used to seeing the reason we did that is simple the silver side reflects heat back if you're in a hot environment say it's a hundred and twenty degrees you can actually put the silver side away from your body and it's gonna keep you cooler by reflecting the heat away from you if you're in a cold environment turn it back in and it's gonna reflect infrared heat back towards your body and keep you warmer good piece we've also got a mylar tent same technology except this is a big triangular tent very easy to string up pull the cord out tie between two trees it's gonna provide protection from wind and rain and direct heat back at you if you're in a really cold environment simply just pile a bunch of leaves and brush around it create a little nest and you've got a nice waterproof shelter they can last a really long time it seems silly but this is a big time game changer when push comes to shove all right that's the warm pocket next we'll get into first aid as I mentioned earlier first aid is red it coincides at the red directions on the outside just to give you give you a clear path to it when Adrenaline's pumping and you may not be thinking as clearly as you want to we've also upgraded our sunscreen when we originally started shipping the sunscreen is this too big we've over doubled the size now this is really great SPF 50 sport mineral sunscreen from very public friends over there work to create this and we feel really good about this you know people think sunscreens only good in the Sun here's a fun fact in the snow 80% of the UV rays are being reflected up from the snow so year-round put this stuff on the last thing you want to have some long-term effects of being the wilderness for a few days and getting blasted by UV rays wet wipes these things are indispensable better than toilet paper not only can they clean a wound out and help sanitize an area but toilet paper gent or general hygiene don't leave home without these guys there's 15 of them in here the nice and then our first aid kit pretty standard 40 piece first aid kit you've got a scissors you've got tweezers bandages sting relief advil basically everything you need in here to get through and get you back to a hospital to receive further care if you need it it's in a nice little pouch even got a little belt loop so if you had to get out to somebody that was that was down and couldn't move you could grab this piece hook it on and and take it with you okay we're halfway through before I get into this side another cool point about this insert it's got a little zipper here for personal things medications medicine whatever we've got an empty pocket there just to let you know all right well start with the we'll start with the tools pouch here too much is a lot of amazing stuff just pull it all out here so we can go through it first up duct tape we spend a lot of time looking for the right duct tape as you know duct tape comes in big rolls it's kind of clunky it's a takes up a lot of space and a kit like this well here's five yards and it's super small this is really great duct tape everything from blisters to patching holes to holding things together indispensable and one of the things I always have with me no matter what paracord kind of like the duct tape story it has a multitude of uses let's say you are you're setting up camp you need to find your way out but you don't know which way to go you can cut off a foot of this at a time and leave little markings and leave a breadcrumb trail to find your way back to camp this also works well when you're building the arm sling when you're building the snowshoes for holding up shelter for tying things together it's 550 pound test you can you can pull people out of areas there's just countless uses for this really good stuff 100 feet of it right here look at the knife next this knife is great it's not going to fail you it's one single piece of steel it's got a nice paracord handle giving you even more paracord to work with it's got a perforated edge as well as a razor edge it's very simple it's very usable it's not a butterfly it's not a foldable it's not going to snap on you and break off this thing is going to work and it's going to get you through a situation the other great thing about it is as a Ferro rod included to help you start a fire so I think you guys know how these work but you simply move this thing along you can see it making some sparks here so a very simple way to make fire if you through your matches and don't have a lighter the other thing we've upgraded the kit since we started shipping is our shovel so I'll show you our old shovel I have one right here this was the original one nice little piece it worked well but but the end of the day we wanted something stronger so we have created it we've got this guy here you can see right away the difference in size and quality and strength this t-handle really gives you a lot more leverage and your digging or or doing whatever with the shovel that you want to it's got a collar that you simply tighten down to make it rigid if you want you can loosen this thing up flip it around you can make a pickaxe if you'd like there's a lot of uses all right that's the tools pouch let's look at Aaron vision next goggles these may look like simple goggles but they're super effective if you're in a sandstorm if you're in smoke if you're in snow protecting your eyesight is one of the most important things you can do these are Anti Fog they've got special channels built in so if you have prescription eyewear they will fit around it they're completely adjustable and man if any of you guys have ever been out skiing with or with got without goggles you know the difference that having your visibility having your eyes separated from the environment what a difference that can make the air mask one of my favourite pieces made by RZ it's called the m5 I've got one open over here which I'll grab one size fits all you know elastic strap on the back catches around your head it actually has two filters that come with it they're completely replaceable just don't screw these pieces put the new one in and screw it back on these will filter 99.99% of everything in the air designed by some guys or big ATV riders in the desert they go through one filter a season these things last for a long time they work really well a nice piece additionally if you're in super cold weather putting this on and simply recycling warm air is is really important to protect your lungs then we've got some glow sticks we get feedback hey these aren't military-grade well guess what there's only one grade of glow sticks and they all do the same thing so glow sticks are glow sticks if you burn through your light your matches your fire you're still in the dark get to these guys they last 8 to 10 hours and provide quite a bit of light and then finally here's another water bladder we've got the water bottle and we actually have two additional bladders in here the reason we included these is because these work specifically with our water filter the water filter we chose is a sawyer mini so let me pull it out here again what we did is we took the packaging out of these things this usually comes in a big plastic package it's hard to get open we've actually moved them and put them in a ziploc bag protecting them but also letting you get to them quicker when you need to this is a sawyer mini they say it'll filter a hundred thousand gallons of water before you need to replace it now that's more than any human drinks in a lifetime so these things will last a very long time and they're extremely simple to use all you do is simply take one of your bladders here's a smaller one fill it up with water screw it on and squeeze the water out and it filters it now the only time we recommend using something else is if you're gonna be in some of the most obscure places in africa there are some parasites this thing will not filter otherwise anywhere else in the world this will create clean drinking water for you I've got to water bladders with caps if you find a good water source fill them all up filter it later keep moving it also comes with a nice syringe and tube to help clean this thing all you have to do is simply put water back through it push all the sediment out and you're good to go for another use last but not least food people always think this is the most important thing as I talked about earlier air shelter water food you can go three weeks without food that said if you go three weeks without food or even a few days what happens is your brain starts not operate as well your brain needs fat it needs protein to function and that's why we picked this this is day trekked 2,400 calories how's it taste kind of like a bad sugar cookie it's not terrible I can eat them definitely have better cookies but it's not it's not gross by any means comes pre-cut and a bunch of serving sizes with the instructions on how to eat it on here this will last seven years in the most extreme situations it's used by the Coast Guard super tough like I said high density 2400 calories this is gonna get you through for several days provide you everything you need so that's it guys that's a 72 all of this comes in the kit one-stop shop $350 right now online on our website we feel this is an amazing value we've spent a lot of time building this with a lot of experts we're really proud of it so go check it out wlwt's apply cocom one more thing if you don't like the gray I've got this really cool black version as well it's identical on the inside just gives you a couple options on color is my favorite remember don't die
