hi welcome to what's cooking with Larry Minetti I'm your host Larry and this is my beautiful wife Nancy hi come on in and join us we're gonna have Robert Wagner Tom Selleck and Mike honors they're gonna cook and we're gonna have a great time so come on in and join us you promise I promise you got a believer I promise come on [Music] welcome back to what's cooking here today with me is Nancy is Tom Selleck Robert Wagner and Mike Connors and of course we all know Tom Selleck is magnum p.i and that wonderful series three men and a baby in and out and a lot of westerns welcome Tom thanks Nancy you're welcome are we gonna do it this been on the road a lot oh yes I am I go out on the road with a play called love letters with my wife Jill st. John and I was gonna take Mike with me but he wanted to play her part well we all know Mike hunters from Joe Mannix the series called Mannix now he's also starting this miniseries war and remembrance and he's doing commercials for global medical I really wanted to do love letters with I think if you huh give me ideas oh I thought it'd be wonderful I think I could do that well you've also got a new movie coming out called Gideon's that's right Gideon's web give you kid Ian's well yeah right your voice might get in the way though I think he dies I certainly hope that we're gonna have fun today I understand that uh somebody has seen you in this magazine here once you show it to 50 of the most beautiful people Oh certainly that gorgeous [Music] you know how long it took him to get that shot to John Wayne famous at one point yeah I know guys you know what we're gonna be cooking yeah and we're gonna cook escarole and bean soup and linguini and clam sauce so we're gonna go into the kitchen okay what's your name so let's go take a look when you like that soup that's so great escarole indeed we're gonna go that's wrong when you went to the world beaters yeah the other you know why not the pasta all right affordable I just burned a few lunacy garden pieces [Music] later celebrity correspondent Tanya rush will share with you some of our guest favorite foods and eating habits escarole and beet soup and linguini with clam sauce smart beer but to make the soup here's what we're gonna do we're gonna need 1/4 a cup of olive oil 1 bulb of garlic chopped 2 bunches of escarole chopped 3 cans of white beans retain the liquid 1/8 of a stick of butter which is optional crushed red pepper salt pepper to taste 2 handfuls of Parmesan cheese and 6 cans of chicken broth how am i doing so far guys excellent all right Larry's gonna saute the garlic oh God [Music] pepper to taste sorry would you cover your mouth oh yeah after he does that he is going to put in the beans with the juice still in though he's gonna try was gonna try to do that and then when you do that you simmer that for about 20 minutes then you're gonna put in the escarole and you're gonna cook the leaves until they're wilted right down [Laughter] just like this city then after that you turn the heat off after it's all letters and you'll stir it up well and that's how you make escarole it roll yeah no an escargot he's lost it now have you guys ever had escarole and beans no I have you have yeah I eat around oh you eat around the escarole I know Mike what about that girl oh you bet I do I don't have anything attend I'd really do bless you man so when do we get to the weenie in clamps at the Double L it is I you know I always miss that second house how many Ounces is this as soon as he is finish cooking this will cook the linguine and clams excuse me oh that's yeah the linguine and clams different six cans of chicken broth or chicken broth six cans for how many people four yes this is great and there's no so there's no water at all it's just chicken broth it's chicken broth there's no water you know what s Korres for it is Italian lettuce basically right Tom likes that yes yes that that the lettuce came from Italy yes we have it floats country that's got to be old lives no no [Laughter] Tom you ate it that's very good we just spit it out isn't he no no this is good lettuce it's when you wilted you know and I hate is like oh are you will turd in the soup if they don't wilt in this because you cook it okay it's it's a vegetable but intense like 12 hours to fly here with it that's why it gets wilt man well this is a different kind of thing I'll explain it to you like an armenian salad lettuce in about four hours now maybe we should try this with Parmenion dancing yes anything secretive parmigiano-reggiano whose hands and she says Larry's handfuls you know what Manetti needs at a time yeah that's right little and hand or hands hands little handy right man Nettie little hand yeah I'm little feet to it you know that's fun daddy what was that character was ma no he's cute isn't you know isn't he cute over the stove like that he's getting a little color in his face so it makes the heat very warm coming you know when they listen about the you know what did Mae West say you know tell it you know that you guys are known as cows pack the red pack is gone yeah now the mouse back look at they're jumping up and down what we do is we we sit here watch that cook for what our now I thought like it's Gladys Knight in the guys are you ready for that you see that way yes we're gonna do linguine and clams [Music] to make the linguini with a clam sauce you're going to need one pound box of linguine a third of a cup of olive oil a half a stick of butter which is optional three cloves of garlic that are minced four cans of clams they're six and a half ounces eaten who retained the liquid with that 1/2 a teaspoon of dried oregano 1/4 of a teaspoon of pepper 2 tablespoons of chopped fresh parsley and in the pot of boiling water you cooked up the pasta linguini until it's tender and in the saucepan is when you heat the oil and the butter until it melts and you add the garlic and you cook that until golden you stir in the clams with their liquid the pepper and the parsley and you let that cook for about five minutes after that's cooked you drain out the linguine and you return it to the pot you add the clam sauce to the linguine you toss that on there and you serve with wonderful great romano cheese that's already grated some crusty bread and if you would like you can throw in a little white wine why not okay how's that guys oh you're right the linguine has to be cooked out there was Larry doing while you were doing it's almost done Larry don't screw it up okay you know all chefs are supposed to have a glass of wine when they cook is that does that cook that fast it only takes 20 minutes to cook it all that is ready and it's ready that's not even marine I don't feel like 20 minutes woman similar 20 minutes the pasta takes out dente to cook what six seven minutes that's it that's it been cooking already performance is ready the six yes Sara night the pasta the other pot I put it on for a while but it's ready now so [Music] and then a little Larry celebrity cars monument Tanya rush will give a one-on-one with their guests I thought it'd be good hey welcome back to what's cooking with Laurie Minetti Larry Nancy it looks like you're cooking up the storm in there but you better save me some food for later well anyway there's more to our celebrity gifts and their feature films that hit TV series they're also very passionate about the food that they love and enjoy and you may be surprised at some of the things that tempt tease and tantalize our taste buds and we're now gonna find out all right men coming from RJ that was much better than my other two anyway let's get to this because I need to learn about what you guys really like I have to ask you about cereal what are your favorite cereal see I love cereal i always require three boxes and my cupboard at all times one is life so Tom Cheerios and kicks together mix in a tall bowl with a little bit of raisins as they drop to the bottom you get you capture the raisins as they're falling through the milk yeah I do now you knock that milk full amount 2% what I go for the 2% raise I go not bad okay so what about you it's a ritual
