welcome ladies and gentlemen back to scrap mechanic the you draw I build or why Dib as I like to call it now this is where I asked you guys on the discord to submit hand drawings of things that you like to see me try to create in a 3d reality in scrap mechanic and as usual I've received a ton of ridiculous submissions and we're gonna be trying to make these things come to life okay so first up is actually somewhat of a complex one this says it untitled by Dark Phoenix clearly it's some type of like springy card thing with lots of bearings I'm gonna try my best to build this thing I guess you know what for the sake of time here I think I have a car frame yes I'm gonna be using this car frame and we're just gonna delete the wheels out of here okay so now we got the tough part we have to make the folding springy mechanism so I think pipe pieces are going to be the obvious choice here we need some pipe pieces and some bearings and probably like an intersection piece all right let's see if I can pull this off all right I'm gonna try to go as accurate as possible and it looks like he has the first bearing intersection at the back wheel well like this and then I don't know why but the whole car is way more forward on this system than it is back so for some reason he has it coming out of the back bumper like this and then we attach it like over here okay so I've managed to build where I think is the successfully working contraption parts but unfortunately I can't mirror it and if if I don't want to build it all over again I have to try to mirror it so I'm gonna hopefully I don't try to figure out something and hopefully I can get this thing to actually weld to the other side without having to rebuild it from scratch so I had to rebuild the entire thing from scratch on the other side because there was no way to mirror it nice and evenly so as you can see I've actually I actually have some things colliding that shouldn't be with each other here because that was the only way I can actually fit these different layers into each other but I think that actually makes it work pretty well so it's not powered or anything yet as far as the folding mechanism I just figured let's actually drive for a little bit first and see how it handles just on its own and that oh boy oh my goodness that's actually kind of amazing oh my Wow I did not expect that to be happening yeah so this thing can't take turns very well let's go off a jump see how this goes this is awesome it's it's kind of like really you're really unreasonably big suspension almost here I want to drive this thing off a goal Oh stay up okay we're good I want to drive this thing off a cliff because I just want to see them expand today I don't even know how fully they they'll be able to expand with their current layout but I figure this is the best way to find out whoo okay maybe not I guess I guess that's not the best way to find out then okay so now that we've gotten a taste of this thing now what I want to do is actually add a controller and power one of these bearings to make it manually expand or contract okay so office works I actually had to power a bunch of the bearings because just one wasn't nearly strong enough to move everything so as you can see it's all staying in in place so when I turned because the controller is keeping it there but when I press the button everything should expand by 45 degrees all right three two one go oh boy oh boy whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa okay all right not exactly what I was expecting to happen it looks like one of the sides kind of gave out even though it should have stayed expanded here let's just do it stationary maybe stationary will be better all right there we go that's weird why does the the front appears to be higher than the back unless these bearings are reversed nope nope nope nope that all seems fine all right well it it seems to be working as intended let's try to drive around now Oh No hmm as you can see we are very very top-heavy you know I might have to power these Center bearings as well okay now all bearings are powered let's see we can turn this thing with uh-oh whoa yep clearly much more powerful okay so now all of the bearings should be powered which means we should have a lot more power all right come on stay steady stays steady oh no no no no no oh once it gets off-center it's just it can't help but fall over oh you know what maybe like 30 degrees will be a little bit more reasonable all right here we go 30 degrees come on stay steady stay steady yes yes this is good this is actually kind of working this is working all right can I turn so precarious no no no no no no no no okay hey we can do that as a last resort I guess but look at this thing I think we did a pretty good job here here oh no no no no all right well what does if I do this all right yeah here check it out we got our side by side actually let me get out of this thing so we can kind of look at it from the side and what do you know I think it looks pretty well if I do say so myself well this bill definitely took a lot more time than I usually spend on these things but I think it was worth it let's get onto something maybe something a little bit simpler try okay here we go a little bit of a breadth of simplicity here by God duck duck doesn't have a title or any description of it I still I can only go based off of what I see and this is what I see so we're gonna get some concrete we're gonna get some thrusters we're gonna get a paint tool and I guess we'll get some bearings all right so we're gonna slap that there we're gonna slap that right there we're going to slap that right there and according to the picture we're gonna slap that right there and then I'm gonna put a bearing Verta bearing there for the eyes and then we need to paint uh-oh oh this isn't gonna you know what I'm gonna saying that's close enough we're gonna slap a switch on the back put that to all the Foresters oh boy alright we're gonna just let it sit right there and when we press the button we this guy should do something you know it doesn't say in the drawing that that this is powered or anything but I I think it is oh no that is too fast and I made another beyblade how do I keep making beyblades alright well that'll be going around the map at some point another drawing successfully come to life and scrap mechanic let's move on to another one alright we're going with another relatively simple one this time I mean it is a walker walkers aren't the simplest thing to build but the way I'm gonna do this one is gonna be too bad by chicken hunter we have the walking stabilizer mug so I'm gonna use wood for this one we're gonna need bearings we're gonna need a controller oh we're gonna need a suspension and a mug of course by the way in case you guys didn't already know this mug is for sale in the mercial link down below the suspension is not included unfortunately you're gonna have to build your own suspension so careful of spillage it does not come pre stabilized alright so well it looks a bit we have some type of like platform like this actually you know what by the looks of it is just like a single line to be honest alright and then on top of this line we're gonna have our signature stabilizer bug make sure the suspension is gonna be on zero and then I think we just pretty much have this going on actually you know what I need to I need to have a controller on here somewhere where am I gonna put this and I put the controller like put it there it should stay yes good alright so now we can put bearing bearing bearing bearing okay so now we got to put leg thingy here and I think we got to make sure that the ones on the same size are pretty much office at each other there we go and I'm gonna give the legs a little bit of width here and then I'm gonna put the other bearing and then we can have the feet go down to the ground all right so now we just got to hook up all these bearings and set them all to 360 degrees looping and I'm gonna set it slow for now cuz I need to kind of analyze which ones are going in the right direction which ones aren't so if you hook this up to the controller set it to go on and it looked like alright we need to reverse that one we need to reverse that one we need to reverse that one and that one alright now I think it should actually walk okay hold on and go [Music] um hold on hold on hold on hold on I'm gonna try putting a little bit of metal up on run all right walk well you know what it's uh it's just walking SM Cup and it it is walking it the stabilizing might not be able to counteract all of the motion but you can see it working a little bit oh it looks like a it looks like a sloth it looks like oh oh that was a good step you had one good step good job walking stabilizer mug yeah this isn't this isn't my proudest walker and then I filled but I think it's time to move on okay up next by vinick's here we have a toaster that launches explosives which sounds mighty dangerous and that is exactly what makes it appealing so let's give it a try all right so we're definitely going to need to stack some pistons for this I think I'm gonna do three three stacked I guess all right lay element I have no idea if this is gonna work it's not very complicated the way I set it up but when I press this button it should pull the lever down and then after the toaster heats up a little bit the bomb should come out I didn't make it complex enough to make the the lever come back up in time with the other things but I don't think that's really the point so let's see if it works all right there we go oh it actually works oh well this is bad that's not how it should work delivery is just hang in there now okay so the toaster is a self destructive explosive launcher is well you know what let's do it again here I'll show you the inner workings of what I actually did so obviously I put a bunch of pistons on a platform and that platform will go up really really fast with the pistons and I just have the explosives sitting on his caution blocks that when you delete them they drop down on the platform so they're kind of free-floating and then when I press the button it triggers this piston which pulls the thing down which triggers the timer which will then trigger the explosives to go so let's go ahead and watch it again there we go actually you know what let me get the thing there we go let's see if I can do some target like skeet shooting Oh one of them that actually almost worked I want to try that again one more time that was kind of fun it's like if you do it well enough you might actually be able to save the toaster all right oh no no no no no no I forgot to do that okay well I should be able to reach rigor it anyway okay come on back closers there you go alright let's go ahead and do that all right and we do that and let's see if I can save the toaster this time I'm not doing too well oh I didn't even worst that time all right one more try one more try this is actually kind of addicting alright and oh it's so hard to get like the movement to leave the targets right but alright I'm bad at that game it's a fun one though isn't it alright so I got time for one more we're gonna do this one by boob elastic this is a drivable baked apple charger so apparently the blue equals bearings the red equals a wheel so it's kind of like a snake thing with wheels but the beginning and end is pretty much a charger so I think I should be able to do it I'm just gonna have to be really conscious of my bearing and pipe placements all right well let's actually start with the head I'm just gonna build the charger portion first the plug all right there we go I probably should have made this out of wood instead of concrete but you know what it should be fine all right here we go so we need the wheel there on one segment and then we kind of need to transition with a bearing I think I feel like I should have a little bit more gap in between the wheels though otherwise are just gonna be colliding with each other we transition here with another bearing and then we're on to the next segment so I feel like this right here if I just duplicate this a bunch of times we should be good yes so he has 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 wheels so let's see if we can get 14 wheels going on this thing so that is 2 there is 4 there is 8 so if I do this one more time and then subtract 2 wheels we should be good all right this is 16 and then that makes it 14 all right I actually don't own any Apple products so I don't know what the end of the Apple charger looks like but here it just looks like a rectangle so we're gonna go with that and now we just need to weld the front back on all right let's give this thing as seats oh we need an engine I guess they can put an engine inside we need a bunch of engines we have 14 wheels all right I'm pretty sure most Apple products are like white so I'm just gonna color the tips white okay so now let's hook up the engines to the seat I don't know how strong these engines are gonna need to be we'll just give them like medium strength for now so nothing gets too out of hand and now we connect up all the wheels and make sure that they're spinning in the right direction all right there we go so right now we have free-floating bearings I can't probably attach them all the steering and have some other effects but let's try the free-floating version first and go [Music] it actually works pretty well I have no control but it's working Oh oh no we've wrapped ourselves I don't know what's gonna happen wait what happens to my backup now are we gonna snake ourselves all we do we just snaked out of that that was awesome okay okay like most things in scrap mechanic this seems to work a lot better going backwards I don't know why that is but yep it definitely seems to be working better going backwards probably because we have more weight in the back so it's easier to drag like it keeps us straighter being dragged around in the back there all right now let's see what happens if we hook up all the bearings of steering guys all right this actually is amazing now so we can stay straight if we want to kind of like this now I'm gonna turn right it works perfectly I am turn left I think if I if I stop for a second and turn nice and gently like this out check this out look at that this actually turned into a way more functional up like vehicle than I thought it was going to all right here here let's see if oh let's see if I can weave between the toasters oh this is not gonna work very well all right well here we go and go ahead oh it's like a whip is whips around come on come on come on all right we're fine we're fine I'm gonna try my best to maneuver myself to go over to this landing pad and see if we can like drive up on to it I don't think it's gonna happen though we're gonna bottom out as soon as we get to it probably Oh yep that's where I thought was gonna happen all right let's okay because if I go backwards I could just drag myself off of it yeah and now I can go forwards and we're good to go look at that all right well there is the Apple charger snake and you know we got the crazy I think this is my favorite one out of all of them to be honest it looks epic just sitting there we got another one flying around the map somewhere we got the explosive toaster which one of the creations in this episode was your favorite let me know down below and make sure that you're joining
