here are 10 things you need to know before you stay at Fort Wilderness Resort in Disney World and they could make or break your trip yes today we were talking all about Fort Wilderness Resort and campgrounds I love this Resort it is one of my favorites absolutely and I know that Quincy and Emma and even Cassie agree with me so I'm really excited for this video today there's a lot of things to do there's different places you can stay great food so let's go check out this Resort in regards to value versus moderate versus Deluxe the campgrounds are considered a Value Resort and the cabins are considered moderate in total there is 750 Acres of lush vegetation and you're surrounded by Pine and Cypress trees all around this Resort truly makes you feel like you are not in Disney World and I love that because it's all about the Vibes of camping and this is what you want from the specific Resort now you might have guessed it this Resort is all themed to camping and the Wilderness and just being outdoors which I love now that's not always what you want on a Disney vacation but sometimes it's really great and today I'm going to show you those reasons why it's really great and why this Resort should not be underrated and I'm very excited plus if you've got an extra member of the family one with four legs you need to know that this is a pet friendly Resort so you can bring your dog along now right off the bat I will tell you this Resort is huge again 750 Acres um as soon as you see a map take a picture of it on your phone you will get lost okay I already did that I have a picture on my phone so help me know where I'm going now first let's talk about the rooms here at Fort Wilderness there are both cabins and campsites everything from sleeping out in a tent to a cabin to an RV you can literally do it all here which is what makes this Resort so awesome okay I love this Resort now in regards to campsites there are four different types of campsites it can accommodate everything from tents to 45 ft and longer RVs with maximum 10 guests per site these campsites can run anywhere from $96 a night to $320 a night if you're setting up an RV they've got everything you could need um there's grills and picnic tables and everything like that so basic setup you're going to be covered but just you might want to pack a little bit more than normal but I'm sure if you're looking to Camp or take your RV here I'm sure you already know that you're probably a pro and you know what you need to bring now let's talk about the cabins so there's also cabins here they are themed trailers with a full living room which includes a sofa bed' got full kitchen bathroom and bedroom with a queen bed and Bug beds now those cabins are going to run you anywhere from $448 to $872 a night so they're a little bit more expensive than you know pitch in your own tent of course but I do have to give you a heads up more than 350 cabins will be getting remodeled into DVC cabins very soon DVC meaning Disney's Vacation Club cabins will sleep up to six adults and feature a bedroom bathroom living room full kitchen and a private patio the concept art looks very modern and it's got some touches of Chip Andale in the bedrooms as well they are expected to open summer 2024 and just in general for any Resort refurbishments anything like that stay updated on our website at all.net we tell you anything and everything you need to know know about anything in Disney World but especially Resort updates are very important for you to keep an eye on so just follow our website we post so many times a day about everything so of course when these cabins are remodeled we will be staying there we will give you a full review so look for that later on this summer also something that's super fun that you could do here at Fort Wilderness when it comes to your campsite or your cabin you can decorate it um you can bring your own things to decorate it and I'll talk about this a little bit later but you can rent golf carts here and people decorate their golf C parts so it's a lot of fun it's you can really personalize where you're staying here of course there are rules to it so just check Disney World's website um there are certain rules and regulations in regards to decorations it's nothing outrageous but just check the website before you buy a whole bunch of decorations that you can't use and if you want an in-depth look at what those cabins look like you can head to the link right here I don't know if it's going to be on this side or this side but one of these top corners you can watch Quincy's full tour of the cabin um I'm in that video as well because Quincy and I stayed in the cabins because we beat in and Cassie in our Fort Wilderness Showdown and we got to sleep in the cabin and they had to sleep in a tent so that was really fun I love the cabins I've stayed there with my family before they're really fun so go check out that full tour if you want more information about the cabins now let's talk about food because that's very important when it comes to your Disney World Resort choice I am currently in the settlement area of Fort Wilderness which is like the back half it's closest to the water closest to Magic Kingdom um and this is where a lot of the food locations are so first off that building right over there is the settlement trading post this is more of the General Store kind of vibe this is where you're going to get grab and go items but again it's mostly merchandise but if you want um some of those grab and go items for your cabin or your campsite you can find them there and normally outside in this area you will find the Chuck Wagon which is a food truck um situation it has a really good burger with mac and cheese on it I loved it um I had it here with we stayed here but normally that's here at night um but it's currently close for refurbishment also over here in this area you will find Pioneer Hall which is home to three different um restaurant locations um so let's talk about those first up you've got Crockett's Tavern which is a lounge kind of area um it's right next to Pioneer Hall it's technically attached it's the same building but it's basically a walk up window where you can get beer wine and Cocktails you can also rustle up some grub like some sliders chicken bites and others and this is actually a really cool place to sit grab a drink grab some food there are a bunch of rocking chairs you're right next to the water it's really pretty um very nice atmosphere so if you just need a moment to yourself to just relax I recommend Crockett's Tavern one thing I should mention it is a tog go window so you cannot sit inside anywhere in Crockett's Tavern it's all outside next up inside the building we've got Trails End restaurant which just recently went through a remodel um it used to be table service but now it is quick service for breakfast lunch and dinner so again another grab and go situation but here you're going to find your basic grab and go items you can get pizzas you can get simple sandwiches things to grab and take back to your cabin or you can still sit at the tables inside but this is no longer all you care to enjoy it is a quick service to grab your food first and then sit down and I also need to mention the meadow snack bar which is a pool bar it's open seasonally so it might not always be open when you're here but it's going to have everything you need for a fun day at the pool and finally the crem de crem when it comes to food at Fort Wilderness Resort that is the hoopy Musical review here in Pioneer Hall the hoop-de-doo Musical review is a high-spirited music and comedy review accompanied by a fantastic Feast this is all you care to enjoy Fried Chicken smoked barbecue pork ribs as well as toss green salad cowboy beans fresh baked cornbread macaroni and cheese and creamy klaw and of course for dessert you got to save room for the grand finale which is Strawberry Shortcake I absolutely love the hoop-de-doo review I came here with some friends while I was on my DCP and it was such a good time I came for for my birthday and um I actually got picked to be the Can Can dancer up on stage so here you go you're welcome it's a very fun meal the food is great the entertainment is even better and you know what we like to say here live entertainment is important um this is a very popular show it fills up very fast so of course get your Advanced dining reservations um but honestly it's a great time and if you want to see a full review of this restaurant I will link our hoop Doo review um video here as well okay now let's talk about transportation because that is very important to know about this Resort specifically now if you are driving to Disney World if you have rented a car if you have a car with you on your Disney Resort trip you need to know that there's only parking at the front of this Resort um the whole entire Resort is huge I take that back so the only parking lot is at the front of the resort you can obviously drive up to your campsite you can park your car in front of your cabin but there's only parking at the front of the resort they do have golf carts available to rent they are not for free and that could be anywhere from $63 to $79 a day so golf carts are a major part of Fort Wilderness Resort it's how a lot of people get around um you can drive your golf cart from your campsite to the settlement to go grab some dinner or what have you so it is really fun I did enjoy driving the golf cart around and we stayed here um it's a lot of fun Advanced reservations are highly recommended for the golf carts but the day that we were here we just walked right up and rented one they are available to rent over at the reception Outpost which is where the lobby is and where you will check in now let's talk about the buses when it comes to this Resort so there are orange purple and yellow buses those routes take you to the settlement Depot which is the back of the resort and The Outpost Depot which is the front of the resort like where you check in the lobby Etc The Outpost Depot up at the front of the resort is the bus stop to all the Disney World parks and Disney Springs except for Magic Kingdom so if you are waking up you're ready to go to Hollywood Studios on a morning you're going to have to take a bus to get to the front of the resort and then wait for the Hollywood Studios bus to take you to the park in regards to Magic Kingdom the only way you can get there is by boat so in order to get to Magic Kingdom you will hop on a bus to get to the back of the resort and then you will take a boat to the front of Magic Kingdom Gates I will say in regards to Transportation at this Resort if you like taking multiple different options of Disney transportation on your vacation I'm talking Montreal Skyliner bus boat Etc this might not be the best resort for you now let's talk about all these super fun activities you can do here because that is a big plus at this resort Fort Wilderness has so much to offer when it comes to Recreation and activities they've got horseback riding they've got the tricircle D Ranch which is where all of the Disney horses stay and they live and they take care of them and groom them and there's really cool historic artifacts in there in regards to Disney history you can see an Old Carriage and things like that so if you're into horses I highly recommend you head over there and check it out sometimes they have carriage rides normally that happens during the holiday season but you can have a carriage ride here at Fort Wilderness you can take a segue tour which is a super fun activity it's $90 per person it's a 2hour circuit so you get to run around Fort Wilderness on a Segway which I haven't done that but would love to do that one day you've also got canoes that you can rent renting bikes to bike around the resort you can even do archery lessons which is super fun we all did that as a crew this is guests seven years and up can learn how to hold and fire a compound bow during the 75-minute session it is $45 per person your arm will be tired by the end of it but it was super super cool they've also got plenty of sports equipment you can even go panning for gold which is super fun um there's fishing excursions and watercraft rentals and even towards the back of the resort there's a beach where you can watch the fireworks in regards to pools there are multiple pools here at this Resort you've got the meadow swimming pool which has a cork screw water slide and then you've got the Wilderness swimming pool which is the quiet Leisure Pool and you've also got chip and Dale's campfire singal which is a super fun activity in the evenings chip Andale come out there's a cowboy that sings songs on the guitar you can roast marshmallows and sing with Chip and Dale and it's super super fun um I had a great time we all did that together as well and then you can watch a movie right after myself Quincy Emma and our friend Cassie from Disney food blog did so many of these activities in our Fort Wilderness Showdown video I highly highly recommend you go watch it that was one of the most fun videos I've ever done for this channel it was really really fun and then the losing team ended up having to sleep in the tent the following evening so that's super cool that video shows pretty much everything you can do here minus the segue tour um it was a lot of fun and honestly that was one of my favorite days so far in regards to work videos so I highly recommend you go check it out there's so much more information in that now it's that time of the video where we should talk about if you should get booking or keep looking every Disney Resort is not made for every person so let's talk talk about the pros and cons all right you should get booking at Fort Wilderness Resort if you are interested in a cheaper price a lot of the things here are cheaper than other Disney Resort Hotels especially in the moderate and Deluxe category so if you're Balling on a budget you might want to consider booking here you also might want to consider Fort Wilderness Resort if you've got a big party the RVs and uh cabins can hold a lot of people more than a standard Disney Resort room so you might consider that as well you also might want to book this Resort if you're interested in all the outdoor activ there are so many things to do here honestly you could spend an entire day and even more doing all the different activities so if that interests you you might want to stay here but now let's talk about if you should keep looking and book a different Disney Resort now I feel like this first one is pretty obvious but if you are not a camping kind of person if you don't really enjoy the outdoors you probably won't like this Resort very much another reason you might not want to book this Resort is if you're not going to be around Magic Kingdom a lot this Resort is very close to Magic Kingdom it's a fun quick boat ride away but if you are hoping to be at Epcot most of your trip or Hollywood Studios then you might want to consider a resort that's closer to those parks and finally you might want to look for a different Disney Resort if you want that Disney feel Fort Wilderness has a great theme I really really love it but it doesn't necessarily give you that Disney Nostalgia that Disney feel that some people really want out of their Disney Resort so if that's you if you want to see Mickey Mouse everywhere you go if you want big Larger than Life characters um in your room and all of that then you might want to look somewhere else if you like this video be sure to like And subscribe and now go watch our video on all the different activities you can do here at Fort Wilderness I'll see you there
