I know what I would do because I have been in this situation before. I’m at a pharmacy chain waiting to check out and the line has a couple people waiting at the two registers.
Two employees at registers are black. Customer at one register is black lady and second register is a Hispanic couple that is not super proficient at English and having a little trouble communicating with the employee. We are US based. Race isn’t relevant for the majority of the people in the story but i threw it in.
In front of me, in line, is an older white man that starts getting visibly irritated with the wait time - maybe two minutes. The female from the couple walks out to speak with her group (waiting outside the store) and comes in to say something to the person she was with in Spanish. The older white man gets angry and asks them for their passport.
I can see the look of nervousness on their faces and the lady just responds “nooo” and the older man starts to say he’s an immigration officer and he deports people like them. I immediately interrupt him and tell him “that’s not cool and to stop saying stuff like that to them. If he’s an officer he needs to prove it.” He then gets in my face and says his identification is his car, he’s going to go get it, and that he wants to see my passport too when he comes back in. I’m a bald headed, bearded Punjabi guy so I probably look Muslim to him, lol.
Anyways he goes out and comes back in and starts to get in my face with some cheap home printer looking paper and the next thing you know some body building looking black dude steps between us and tells the old guy to stand down. By this time other employees come and take me and the black gentlemen away to a different register so we can deescalate the situation.
The couple was still at the register as I was leaving and I said “I’m sorry (lo siento)” to them in Spanish. The old man told me I was lucky or something and I said I’m not worried man and what you did is unamerican. What he did (pointed to muscle man) is some real American shit.
Bruh id rock his shit
This show has done a scenario with Sikhs before. In that episode (Sikh denied restaurant job) the dude tied the messiest Pagh I have ever seen lol.
Buy the suit for the man, tbqh. Let the confrontation end. Same thing as at a coffee shop.
In a real situation obviously I'd stick up for him but I would try not to be aggressive with it otherwise it'd probably just serve to deepen his tribal perspective.
This feels like such a contrived scenario.
