"What it Means to be a Power Couple" Marriage Retreat 2015

you know this is our opportunity to be open and honest with everybody now did you show these pictures and all these things about and you know Power couples what that looks like and what it doesn't because nowadays power couples aren't our they are defined by what the person has you know they're defined by this outward appearance what this person has on what this person what this person looks like how much money this person has how much influence this person has and you know influence isn't always a good thing now if somebody told me I just young man until my time he said you know yes I want to have I want to have a lot of influence and I said well preferably your influence really just glorifies the Lord and he's like no I mean any influence is good no Hitler had influence don't necessarily all employ this is not good influence so you want to make sure that you are not that we one thing I wanna cover today you want to make sure that your marriage is not projecting a wrong view of what it truly means to be a powerful we look at these things and we we look throughout society today and you'll see that you see these different recording a music artist you see preacher as you might see you might see you know dancers you might show these people will come together in their marriage and they're trying to create this powerful union let me give you the foundation to this and then and it will take baby steps up to it the foundations and this is the power in the couple comes through Jesus Christ as the power in the Covenant that is the power of the couple that's where the power couple is born if Jesus Christ is absent from the couple's life then there is no path it's the same way you know I cannot get a I cannot get this speaker to work if I do not have it fully connected in to the to the outlet it must be fully connected and in order for it to it when it is connected then I make sure and I know that there is power that is coming to the speaker which now helps me to be able to broadcast the message in the same way a couple when they are empowered that they are powered because they are connected through it by Jesus Christ both individually and collectively and we're going to discuss this individually and collectively when they are empowered by Jesus Christ and they are powerful then this is what you refer to as a power cut this is a couple where you have you have two facets one individual one is where your personal relationship with the Lord is strong this means that your personal time of prayer is strong this means that your personal time of a sacrifice your personal time of giving your personal time of selflessness is strong and then you have a collective understanding right now we are collectively coming together so that we can pray we have a collective giving we have a collective understanding a collective time of stage a collective time of fun this is something that we can now do together but this is where the power comes from the power doesn't come from our parents again we we look around the world today and a lot of marriages are bored a married folks they're bored they are there unenthused a lot of marriages are there dealing with things secretly and most times individually because they they don't want to open themselves up to say okay what am i lacking here and the thing that we are lacking the most is this relationship that we need to have with the Lord this has to be paramount this has to be important first thing I want to cover here is when we're looking at this relationship look at this this power couple you know where where is this place then the two of you worship together what does this worship look like with one another what does this worship what is your worship look like I have seen where a husband he goes to one place of worship and the wife goes somewhere else I'm gonna tell you why they can be very dangerous because the husband does not really know what information his wife is receiving and the same vice versa when they come together it is it is possible for them to still love the same Lord but in many ways to be unequally yoked emotionally and intellectually so now there is an equal there's an unequal yoking there because now this for the spouse is receiving something over here it is different from what this from what the what the other spouse received I give you an example I had a couple of whom he was going to he was going to say oh this one place and the wife was going somewhere else they could not agree on one on one Church home so they just decided we're gonna go somewhere else he was passionate about serving at his service and she was passionate about the word that she was receiving at the other service the problem was that the word that she was receiving was more emotional than it was true so now she was being taught different things and he was seeing me a change in his wife she was listening as the first thing he got up and the first ladies did I don't have to do everything I'm not trying to do everything this man tells me to do I'm not trying to let me tell you something ladies this is a new woman and you need to be a new one you are your own woman you need to have some type of Independence you need to do things that you need to do over yourself you need to depend on your husband you know in fact you don't really need this man so she is listening to all of these things come out of this woman's mouth and she's taking it as if it was gold because it's not backed up by any type of Scripture and now they're coming together and now they're saying a breakdown in their marriage and it's destroying their union and the power is slowly dissipated is slowly falling away you have situations where you have these miracles and you can tell you can tell they want so bad to give off this image of success this is the thing a point they haven't they they have this statement they so bad went to office in since that they're trying to keep up with everybody else around them in order to look a certain way they are more so concerned with appearance than they are substance it's not what is truly inside of me but what is on the outside of me how do I look what do I have on you know wow I see what this person has and now I want to see can I get back and now I see I'm looking at what this person does and I want to do that they're trying to innovate the wrong things and the substance isn't they you know our relationship with the Lord is not one that comes and says you know I just I need to just do do do do do in fact you know what I want to make this point clear James makes it clear that in our relationship with the Lord there are actions that we must say because without work without words faith is dead look like I said earlier we do things not because we have to at least that should be the point in our relationship what you want to know them of Christ we should do them because we get to do these things we are honored to do these things when you see these couples and they're coming together and there are all the motivation of being together and at home motivation is to be some type of some type of powerful union and they're together not because they truly believe that they have a purpose that now coincides with one another but they are together because they want to give up an image of something that the two of them are trying to create on their own then one will look a certain way they want to have a certain type of image they want to have a certain type of brand that bodes well with their particular marriage but the problem with that is it's not something that God is truly creating in them they're trying to create it in themselves and that is dangerous because once once the applause and once the compliments of the people begins to die down because you've been built on that for so long that now when they begin to criticize you you crumble and when you crumble individually most times the mayor grumbles collectively so witness you gotta be cautious to make sure you had asked yourself it as each other are we emulating an example that we now see that does not that does not truly glorify God are we trying to emulate something and somebody else that that is not it's not who we are these are these God gave me gifts and talents and abilities that he wants me to be able to use that may be totally different than what this other guy has with this ugly lady has but in seeing this I am able to do something make him all take us toward the same goal which now takes me to my next point in this in this thing of being a power company purpose is important to the power now the Lord Jesus Christ is all given us power he's given us power he's he is he's given us the ability he empowers us with all these things there is something that their lives in line with purpose purpose is so important what a man and a woman do not have purposed and they already had their destination when you have a place in my mature already going that you're already where you are right now as I said yesterday you know God gave Adam purpose he gave him position he gave him responsibility there in the garden so now Adam had a responsibility there were the things inside of the garden he told him to keep this garden he told that into it he told him to garden mmmm so now I haven't has purpose so now when the helmet comes along the helper comes along to now assist in the purpose of helping and keeping teaming and gardening the garden there's purposes one of the key conversations that we failed to talk about which we'll cover in another session more in depth is the purpose of why the two of you came together what is this have you discussed that purpose what is that purpose look like and how does that purpose now correspond to power not something that we're trying to create it's not something that we're trying to make it out in our own sales but what is it that we are both purposed to do and how does this purpose now come and translate it into power but now does not begin to glorify the two of us but now when people see us they now seek to whom who needs to be glorified and it's the Lord what does that look like where does that power what is that purpose how can we found them are we having discussions about it are we talking about will the Lord is putting it on the inside of you are you talking about you know having those discussion well you know maybe this is what God is really saying to me and having that discussion you know maybe this is what God is really saying to me and time and going to those things and talking about those things so that you can begin to uncover and pull back the excess layers and say well let's get back to the simple things let's get back to the basic things let's get back to what's important and that's looking this stuff so that now we can truly have this power that he truly gives us so that we can now do all things for his glory flow what it means to be a power couple the next thing here and in being the power pub your marriage you know all our marriages should glorify the Lord without a shadow of a doubt but just because all of our marriages glorify the Lord does that necessarily mean that all of our marriage is going to look the same one of the biggest issues I mentioned earlier with the power couple is and the issue the images that we see on television and in the magazines and stuff like that you see these two people who come together and there is truly no glorification of the Lord there there there's a glorification of self as a glorification of their responsibilities glorification of their influence but at the heartbeat of this what is it that the two of us are now creating between the between each other that is now beginning to assist and help with those who are around me I surely believe that when when a husband and wife when they come together full power understanding the responsibilities that have been given then when they come together it becomes a powerful ministry or now they begin to minister unto the Lord together and they begin to minister unto unto other people together so now it's no longer just you know I'm going over here to the shelter by myself but now I'm doing these things with my wife I'm doing these things with my husband we're now ministering together we're ministering unto the Lord and we're ministering unto others as we administer unto the Lord and we're doing these things together this is this is where this power now comes in that now i am using i'm using the empowerment that i have been given to the christ i'm using this for something from use this for something other than just the glorification of self i'm using this to say we're doing this together this is a lot of my wife when we travel and to preach and difference i think this is we want to make sure we go together we'd like to showcase what what the family can do it together we don't necessarily like leaving one another when we have to travel different places but we want to make sure that if we're together because it's something about the show of unity and today in seen that words in today's time you don't see that unity much you don't see it much it's like you know you see the husband and then you see the wife but you don't really see them together but then what you finally see them together is something powerful about the two people is something powerful when you come together on the same page with your wife and something powerful when you watch them on the same page as us it's something powerful to them that now as the scripture says the one who put a mouth and apply to ten thousand you're always hoping the same you know when I get married I want to we're going to come together this thing it's gonna be 5050 marriage is not 50/50 marriage has never been 50/50 marriage is a whole 100 it is it is I coming to this thing 100 percent I come to this thing 100 percent when we come together man we're able to blend this thing together it's not adding the two together but now we're coming together to now maintenance and not make one we bring this together they're not adding it I'm bringing it together we like to come and do it and we like to say well you know what is gonna be the glorification of self and we also like to say well I recognize that I'm breaking I'm coming together with my spouse but it's still just going to be about me and still it and a lot of times I'm only bringing half with me but what is the ministry that can now be birthed out of your marriage what is that you have the conversation if you haven't it's going to be important for you to have this with you what is it that we are both extremely passionate about and how can we now minister to others a witness passion if you both have a fashion before the Lord then you motion Minister about the Lord with one another I get it Beaupre need you to understand I'm not a speaker I don't like all that kind of stuff that's not that's not a while nobody said you have to grab the microphone ministry happens in all different in all different ways I mean you can go you can be very creative you can go down to the go down to the to the local you know FedEx or UPS or whatever you get a little mailbox put a name on it there may be unrecognizable find them you know fine families that are in need and instead of great learning you just write a check to them send it to them put the name of the you know God watching over you incorporated you put the dress on to send its own and it when I said thank you they don't know where he came from but it gives you an opportunity because you both have such a such a great gift of giving or you both have such a great gift of encouragement and you want to be able to share that because you you have and you usually can discover this passion out of your greatest frustration because you're frustrated because you feel like nobody encourages me with anymore and I just don't you're so great at encouraging but instead of criticizing what everybody else is doing come together with your spouse are saying what can we now do together what are we supposed to do together how did this look together there now because we came together because we're doing things together to now benefit and now edify the body together how does this not look at we can now have power that we have been empowered with and now with that but how can is truly begin to glorify God what is it we're both passionate about and why are we not doing these things together I get a lot of kickback from this for some reason I don't I don't get it I preached this before here past couple of months but you know it's something when you look at the proverbs 31 woman and you know it's all over his head every woman will be the proper state aroma when you look at this woman she was this was this was not a weak woman this is a woman who was who was prepared she makes sure that her family was double-hulled when it was cold that means that she was prepared before the wintertime came this woman I mean she went she's so is she she is she bought land I mean this was this was a woman who was it was entrepreneurial this was a woman who made sure that she was there to make to maintain her home to be the keeper of her home but at the same time this was not a lazy woman did you say well I'm just standing the kitchen all day long when I had to got a full clothes and watch the kids all day this was a very very busy but yet productive woman and her husband said was known in the city gates it says he was sitting us the others that doesn't be some great respect ascent amongst the elders this for this was not just some you know just the man who's just got to sitting there on the time said now I'm back with you don't straw in his mouth this is a man with great respect there's now married to a to a to a powerful powerful woman you put the tool these people together and now you have something that is extremely extremely powerful number one they're empowered by the Lord but number two they come together inside of a household that truly begins to glorify God and now they can use their they can use their influence and use their god-given talents and abilities and their responsibilities that God has given them to now benefit the community around them the reason why he came back from that is I sit down with couples and I say you know and I give this that's a pretty is I'm tired I feel like I'm over here to admit and my wife is over here doing medicine and I just we don't have time to do this I hear all this stuff man it sounds good this communication stuff it sounds great but there's not a reality for everybody that's not my reality like I travel a lot I got it I travel I got to go I got I got a feel in the world that's not that's not my make money that's how we can afford to live in this house that's how we can afford to get these these things that's how we can I can afford to keep my kids in private school because I would like you to have this I get it I get it I did it but I was sitting on his cup and we're talking and this guy's telling me about all these things that he has to do and I mean create great business mom am I in front of a mindful business I mean grant ministers mind you can you can put something in his hands and now he's have a great business mind on the on the backside of it the private side I would understand that the legalities and understanding how to get counseling he's great with all that stuff but then if you put a product in this man's hand he is so good at promoting this product they mean this Bank is sales sand to a beach he's just that he's just that good in the business mindset and he's just a great marketer and then his wife is so good at accounting I mean this is what she loves what she's passionate about so she is climbing the ranks over here as an accountant because she wants to be she was to be at the top of the top of the top of the pole there from the accountant but then this guy where it's just really really good business so they're both woman opposite directions climbing opposite rings I said they're gonna say to them well have you ever heard the two of you ever thought about possibly just sitting still long enough to go to Laurie hands to say possibly there could be a great business that can be started between the two of you that's all you can do together and you know I don't know we we just we never really talked about that well why not I mean I had that discussion your great ambitions you have all these different plans and when I talk to you I mean every time they talk to me it's a different plan about something yes it is either a different product or something else he has I mean it's great stuff but he has that side of it his wife is really good at the accounting side up the two of you come together could you be able could you be sharp in a major train were to do but at the heart of this DeVoe that they want to be able to change this they want to be able to have to be the business men and women so they're able to give more and be able to have more time to make it be able to devote to things in their community but what's the greatest way for you to be able to do those things and Amira's just go insane well why don't we do these things together at least it's going to bring people is the worse it can have you got to come together closer with your spouse because you're not working together you're creating something that the two of you can last and have a legacy with you're creating something that if you both chose true that you can hand down to generations just say you know my baby came together and daddy uses gifts talents and abilities that he has and mommy uses her gifts talents and ability of the sheehan and we both came together and we just we just created something and you know we had a good time doing it and then I was sat down on a diner one time and the owners came out was a husband a couple and your wife is the wife is the one who loves she loves food she loves food she loved to cook food everything about food I mean she's just in love with food the man is like I don't like anything about food I mean he loves food but is that you know his thing wasn't a restaurant he said he never thought one day he'd have a restaurant I'm thinking myself I do why did the two of you on a restaurant he's a good businessman so he was he's there to make sure that the practices of the business practices are followed through with he's going to make sure that when the workers come in they show up on time he is going to take care of the business aspect of it so his wife can be concerned about the things that go on if we're in the kitchen so that she can be concerned about the food the stuff that she's passionate about but when they come together as a team they're able to do something because they're truly empowered and at the heart of this they both love the Lord so that when people come inside of the restaurant a reason why we were so impressed from the restaurant is because but you've never walked into somebody's house and you sensed peace when you walked in this restaurant it's like it's so peaceful in here it's like you know you know the Lord dwells in this place and I go yeah yeah we love to pray in this place everybody who walks through the doors our prayers in the Lord will open up their eyes our prayers and they'll come to the knowledge of the truth of Jesus Christ and from the outside Olivia you would never think that this is something that a husband and wife came together and we look at me we thought you know is this something that you to enjoy did you do like working to go to some area couples alike criticizing like you know with this woman I didn't even think about working and we have some business something that you like doing together and they thought well you know we make what we make of it we learn to enjoy like anything it's not necessarily hard it's just different it's different so it causes you to dig a little bit more it causes you to change a little bit more it causes you to reflect a little bit more it's going to cause you to community a lot more because now you're talking about business and now you're looking at different business practices that maybe you may agree with this other that your spouse does it so with all these things into play when you're looking at your life you look at your marriage you're looking at with the two in here do we have you sat down long enough to say baby you know here are the things I believe God has really gifted and talented me to do here the things that God has really gifted and talented you to do how can we come together to make sure they both be empowered by the Lord how can we come together to bring these things together as once that we can begin to we can begin to minister to those people around us then so that God can be glorified when when Heather and I was and we started courting Hsieh my first question to her at the restaurant my first question was when when we get married will you be willing to move down to Atlanta cause I would live in New York and my next question to her well some questions of her was what's your purpose but it's got purpose for you to do I wanted to know I wanted to know what was that marrying into and how many what was I marrying into it because we are getting married what does this now look like for us what does this what am i what am i going to take what what is this marriage what what is this marriage supposed to look like and afterwards some expectation is there because I wanted to have an expectation of if I'm marrying a wife who's saying well you know well I want to be a runway Bob Pollin thing it was this they calls for a conversation was never talked about there but I really wanted to know what do you believe her gifts in your talents your abilities Oh God has given us all gifts and he expect for us to use our views just because you're married does not mean that you put your gifts on hold he wants you to still use them you use them in your marriage and you also use them to be able to help other people there's a dying world out here there's all those communities all around here they would love to have Harrison Florida there are children that are fatherless and you may be saying welcome you just the doctor said I can't have kids but the both you have such a love for children not just your own their children there are communities there are houses that will love to see a husband-and-wife team show up together and say we're here to assist we're here to help so thank God you've been clarified in this this is what the true power couple is not a couple that seems to take praise for themselves but says we have been so empowered by Christ we see in a dying world we see a dying community and I would want to do this just be servants of these people if it's in business hey I mean if you want makeup occasion your pleasure cupcakes he's blessed with the business side of it have a slamming cup of great business and put John 3:16 stamp it on the bottom of cupcake I mean it almost brings some hole in water when you're making noises I mean doing these there's a big total together the world says you can marry and they separate you finding everything and he finds his thing and you be independent and his she's independent and not until you're going different directions but now it's something about doing these things together what are we doing together what are we doing together side the household what's gonna cause for us to come together more to communicate more we're not doing that nowadays and Steady's this is my thing I'm do over here cuz usually having an axe but you know and I love it as couples this I'll ask you what do you do and they're about to do this what do you do I do this bro and I said what got him together um what do we do together all together I'm thinking myself like what y'all America down low very well what are you doing together what is this collective ministry that you have when when people look at you when people look at your life when people look at your marriage what can they say these people collectively do this they've been empowered by Christ what can make collectively do what does it collective love they have for one another what is this thing they both can do together and they both can worship God and worship and serve their communities together the last thing you know that's it personally the name to discern there are certain things I've been gifted and blessed with right so I've come to a point in life at FPA 226 finally I've come to the point in my life where okay I know I have these gifts but at the same time I've been dealing with how to only know God's will for these gifts how do I know which ones he wants to use at what season so how are you your wife able to maybe how to God speak to you or how did you approach God another what does that look like and how did he reveal his perfect good and pleasing will for you guys to start its mystery started to church and how was a lot very uncommon yes I ran from my slurry goes I want to be a politician not a preacher and on my third failed attempt to run for political office I got upset went back home and climbing the babe with my suit on that far you know what god I don't know what it is I knew I know they wanted me to preach I just didn't want that I got in the bed and I was mad right I was going to sleep but the Holy Spirit spoke to me and he said if you don't if if you don't want to do what I'm telling you to do why should I open up your eyes in the morning and I thought all right let me repent real quick so repentance I said I never forget telling the other day and for me it took it took time to say okay I need to truly just get before God because I I didn't I did not want the world to taint what he was trying to do in me so that's the reason why I took though I took a year and a half I took it off to just pray and spend time with him but for us we we have we've gone through several trial and errors our church officially started in Jackson Mississippi I started in Easter of 2012 because I had this grand idea that I'm in Jackson you know I'm a preacher I've been traveling everywhere else but I don't we just started church here so I rent out this huge auditorium but I thought this is going to be perfect did God tell us to do this absolutely not but I thought this is I mean this is what he will want right I'm gifted and I'm gifted to preach I believe I should be able to do it I read on this huge auditorium we sure for this place we we did is this this television commercial then if praise the poem oh my goodness if that ever got out that would be crazy and then there's a television commercial we paid all this money for and then we were on radio we like the three do it using something that's promoting this big Easter service that we're gonna have and we showed up and my mom sister nephew niece showed up and we had like it was like another color will kind of walked in it was like and because I think they felt sorry for us they sat down like all the night to think you know those seats like next to the door and hey you know and I got over there and out of all I mean you have all of these seats I mean you have rows of seats down below and then you have you have about a whole balcony and it's just empty and I'm standing on this stage and my whole incident that she's like go on baby you know just just have me and Heather Heather stands and we didn't have anybody else there so Heather is heaven led everybody in worship if you when she comes this morning to this week asked her to sing but she Kirk Franklin the whole thing hey everybody stand up you know which is gonna worship the Lord in this blaze of light I mean if you work for a minute I'm like these sheets what she wanted she was fouled in the hallways yeah track plan and nobody was there and I started to say what I have there I still read for 50 minutes I don't know I was like what is he doing but for me it was like you know do that trial and error I was still learning that I learned a valuable lesson that if nobody else shows up well let's don't give God everything I had so I say that to say that you know even in that even in those seasons where you may be unsure still use it gives the talents that you have even at the time that you feel there's no you just but you feel about on your face like I felt like that for me use what you have and learn the lessons that's in it so still come together with with your wife talk about those gifts and talents and abilities go before the Lord and and I mean you know be led by him and at the same time even if you feel like you're failing and you're falling on your face just learn to listen in it it taught me something there's still valuable today I'm going to talk about a lot of unity and togetherness anything right I was talking about my wife my wife was a touchy cover and you know just physically sometimes I say the ball with one calipers but you know I mean I bought a man shader and I'm thinking this is it you know my wife likes to stay in my man chair with me it's only one occupant machine she likes to enjoy the time but but we still have our time we're where we are we're not we're not together I mean I like to go to the gym with our I know that going with her it may not be as enjoyable as going without her so there are times that we we do things apart every year we also like the tank I call a mancation that's just with me and the fellows I can go a trip with the guys and she told her girls trip and she goes with her friends and it's usually you know two or three days wherever it is and all the rules are we can't travel internationally without one another because I would hate for her to go to customs and they stopped her and I wouldn't want to have to go and you know rip a whole country apart to get my wife so you know we don't we just don't travel internationally without each other but there there are things that we do during the day I like to be about when I'm in my office I like to be in my office and she knows she has her prayer room and stuff upstairs in her office she also uses she likes to be out there she knows it but I know if I go up there I need to respect her space in the same way when I'm down in my office I like for her to respect my space because we're different very different like I'm the type of guy where I'm laying for the lights to be off when I said I like to study the Bible not it I mean it's not total darkness but it's like a star light coming in that's enough from me my eyes won't probably be terrible for it but that's enough for me Heather likes to turn on all of the lights and she likes to dance with the Lord like I'll hear her heard she says oh thank you God and she to her sister this is all things a weekly need that separation so we come back together it's just based along just that much drama you were talking about the husband and wife coming together there's talent to possibly start a business so I will post those things that I'm due to but there's one that I kind of feel like I'm called one they're in two completely different worlds between what what I cook and she's at health care and they're kind of you know two completely different worlds and situations like that how do you then say this is what I want to do come in to help me when that person doesn't have that same passion I don't see two completely different worlds the food can very well affect the health so when you're cooking you can go to your wife and say baby is this I mean it's just appropriate I think you could see you could see a whole line of food that now caters to a certain market that can now help somebody else with their with their health of their body so now you're the cook you have the passion with the food she is the passion with the health or the health care and if she sees different things with different people who are affected probably by the foodie and now because she sees that she can now assist you with what you're cooking so with anyway with with anything that you do I mean let's just say you know you had a chew out of passion with food and then let's just say cuz know my life passion I'm I feel like I made her a gift of shopping our passion but nonetheless it's insane Allison wants to do is shop hey let her shop for some pants and then is still you know it still helps just put her on just a very modest budget so that when she buys her plan she can buy the right once you see the passion for the food like a booty of Heather number two were to open up a restaurant I'd rather be the one with the passion for the food she probably one with the passion for decorating so she comes in it's gonna look beautiful I really because if I had to do it the walls would be eggshell white but you you come together fine find the commonality between the two and learn to build on those things and as you continue to build on those things I guarantee you you're gonna see something deeper than the two of you can also share within the mail good morning you know earlier you guys said he had spoken to couples that I'm wanting to provide influence but they Nessun didn't necessarily glorify God so my question to you is and this might be a little personal but how do you feel about speakers motivational speakers apartment speakers that necessarily are in the spotlight talking to people but the messages that they deliver don't necessarily correlate what the Bible says like do you feel that those speakers in their unity in their marriage do you feel like one is doing going an opposite way than the other one and both of them are speakers well there's no usually a lot of that stuff the question though I'm trying to understand the question is the question I want to make sure I understand what make sure I answer the question so you're saying one is one is speaking contrary to the Word of God and like in the general sense like one speaker is speaking more secular mm-hmm and then you have somebody else that could be speaking more direct from the Bible as a preacher would how do you feel how do you feel like gonna be how do you create that unity if one is not necessarily speaking of God or speaking directly what the Bible says like how do you how do you get that unity again I mean I remember now the foundation this whole thing is the Word of God must be the final authority so the Word of God is the final authority if this person was truly speaking something is contrary to the Word of God then that means the Word of God I want to find a Floridian we need to take a step back we'd have a discussion about what is being shared I think I think a good conversation going to come into place there rebuke may even be a good thing with bukas of great part of edification and we don't like to hear the correction to have this is loving rebuking correction it says this is what you're saying but this is not necessarily a biblical it's not Scripture and that was causing more harm than it is good so I think that I think there's anything there asked me sometimes a serious conversation there that brings the two of them back to the foundation of saying this is what it's supposed to look like this is what the Word of God should say and this is this is what when the Word of God says is these are the things that should we follow and this is what we should be this is what this is what we should be shared for no reason show husband and wife we're sharing messages that are contrary to one we'll take one more if there is and then we are biting hombre I just had a question how do you deal with when the world starts to you know put you up on a pedestal but you talked about me if I started to church and only a few people showed up and now I guess we're you and Heather are in your life I'm where guys taking you how do you how do you handle mentally and spiritually when the world starts to kind of which would you just on that pedestal you know I never forget years ago that a guy who told me he said the higher the pedestal the heart of the fall and we surround ourselves around honest people who are very real and who are not afraid to look us in the face and say that ain't right and and and those those things those things really help and you know people people oftentimes they'll you know they'll tell us different things about about our influence and stuff like that which a lot of times honestly by I don't buy into it because I guess we're in such a bubble and the other time we kind of like our bubble every because we get humble real quick now we can go we can preach the thousands and we go right back home and and Vogons like dad I'm pooped did you get humble real but you know you know you you're freezing fronting I'll beat me to make a house and everyone my baby you let me tell you about what happened she's like oh that's great tragedies going on today's you know Friday's tomorrow morning trans government you get a little really like ain't nobody I think treasure I know buddy and I guarantee when you when you continue to serve other people and when you continue to give and you continue to love with other people it it begins to put life back in the proper perspective because we know that we are we ain't waiting on them I'm a country boy from Mississippi who grow up in a double-wide trailer what a pond out back Heather country girl who grew up in Jackson Michigan Brooklyn Michigan with you know flipping horses and pigs and all that kind of stuff that's I mean heaven a straight country you don't see that it out but straight country girl and we like to like what we Co I come back with about into Michigan every year for Thanksgiving with her family I pray our families I'm watching us on periscope but her family is lovely they are lovely but they can be different I mean Logan I love the life they are my dream my my family or my family but they uh you know they they they keep you they keep it honest they keep it artisan one of my sister-in-law she looks good every time she sees me she to this day she's never called me Cornelius like you know for years she called me calamus because everybody trying to call you in and I'm not gonna calling mama but she called me come on I'm finally elevated to the point this year she started calling me child of God so well you keep people like that around you and you stay in situations they keep you humble the problem with it is and that's and I'll be ashamed to say this now that you're one of my reasons why I don't travel as much as I do now to go speak at different churches is because if you're not careful that stuff can go straight to your head I thrive on the churches and yeah I get it they want to serve and it's like sir let me take your bag let me do this for you the limo was going to pick you up at the airport the town cards here and if you're not careful get that over and over again it goes to your head it almost makes you feel as if you deserve and I like to pull myself back and say you know no no I listen that's I need to take a step back from my own sanity from my own mind to get back to the point of saying let me let me remember where I came from we had churches out of a movie theater where any given second you walk in you don't know listen what's running around I miss all with the air too and that kind of set me keeps you humble so I would say serving serving other people and just being around a lot of people who could just keep you humble and tell you bunch of sue it's very good as well and when you see it when you see it happening it's time to take a step back and look back at the reality of the situation
