There are a lot of ads about GATE exam in the news and the information also your mentors and teachers tell you to prepare about the GATE exam You don't have complete information about the career opportunities of this exam very well that what can you do after the GATE exam and also students be like that I don't want to pursue PG or enter the teaching field So i wont appear for GATE Thats not the case After qualifying for GATE you can also choose fields other than teaching and do well in those Today I'll be discussing the same here Hello students! I am Dr Gajendra Purohit and you're watching my channel where i upload videos for engineering, mathematics and BSc students if you're preparing for any competitive exam where higher mathematics is asked Then my channel will be really helpful to you I have brought this video on many student's demand where i'll explain what is GATE exam and how you should be preparing for it When to start preparing and opportunities associated with it The eligibility criteria and everything is that i'll be discussing Watch the video till the end as i'll be sharing an important tip at the end that how can you prepare well for this exam is less time Gate stands for this exam was conducted by IIT Bombay in 2021 and in 2022 IIT Kharagpur will conduct it GATE exam surely does have a level But if you prepare systematically you can crack this exam easily if you're younger sibling is in class 10th/11th then parents usually ask them to start preparing for NEET or prepare for IIT JEE And everyone is into it to dedicatedly prepare for it With the same or maybe less dedication if you prepare for this exam I guarantee that you'll crack it as the competition is relatively less people do appear for GATE as well but some gets diverted to different field & some enter govt competitive exams So the numbers are less, competition is less and you can easily try and crack this exam Now the first question here is after understanding what and who conducts it and also we can crack it But who can appear for the exam? So the eligibility criteria here is and if you're in 3rd or 4th year or have completed the degree, you are eligible till 2020 only the 4th year student or the students who have completed the degree were eligible but now even the 3rd year students are eligible So you can prepare for the exam Next the students who are pursuing MSc/ MA or MCA even they are eligible for this exam Earlier students in the final year of masters were eligible but now first year masters students are eligible too So if you're pursuing masters in physics, chemistry, maths, life science, biotechnology then you can give GATE exam for these subjects and you are eligible for the 2022 exam Career opportunities after GATE exam One more thing regarding the eligibilty the score card for GATE exam is valid for 3 years Say if you're in Btech 3rd if I qualify GATE this year, will I have to give the exam again next year the score card for GATE exam is valid for 3 years and can apply anywhere using it for 3 years Career opportunities after GATE exam let me tell that there are much more no. of opportunities after GATE as compared to IIT JEE So you can pursue MTech from NITs or IITs with scholarship around 12K-15K of scholarship If you want to pursue MS from abroad then there are a specific universities who accept GATE score card With the scholarship You can also manage your expenses with it simultaneously There are universities that make you eligible for Phd directly after Btech if you have a good GATE score and ranking Another amazing scope for students who want to pursue research Many MTech students get great placement opportunities Specially the basic science students like chemistry, physics or mathematics If they pursue MTech from IIT, its an amazing career prospect Engineering students already have a chance to grab the opportunity Great scope in research and RND because when a student is pursuing Mtech he/ she is usually 22/ 23 Then they can be independent with their expenses without the dependency on the parents If you're a top ranker in GATE Then usually PSUs hire you directly which is a public sector unit which works under the govt So If you're a top ranker in GATE Then usually PSUs hire you directly You just need to apply and for more information follow up the Ascent newspaper published by times of India from july to sept/oct which publishes the ads for these companies, with a heading of "Through GATE 2022" Note the information and apply Also the state electricity boards directly hire the rankers of GATE Like 10 to 15 Lakhs as if you're working in PSUs it has many different benefits too It depends on the requirement & vacancies of different companies For the students who want to pursue MBA from IIMs after GATE you can pursue MBA too it needs a good score in GATE, you can directly apply to IIMs to join this program That NITIE also provides an admission for management courses If you have a good GATE score then you can establish a good career in management too Many engineering students aspire to crack IES that is If you wish to do that then this the best way to do that That you start your MTech through IIT and prepare for IES on the side Because the syllabus of GATE and IES are almost similar Crack GATE and pursue MTech from IIT and then prepare for IES, that way you can easily crack IES Now to understand how to prepare for this exam That the normal cutoff for this exam is around 25 marks But to score well you must be having 45- 50 marks at least But you can get 20-25 marks easily because it asks engineering maths and general aptitude, both of which carries 25 to 30 marks if you wish to polish your engineering maths there are a lot of videos on Youtube channel, can watch on i tab Link in the description as well there are a lot of good videos on Youtube channel on general aptitude And I promise that all the previous year questions from GATE plus general aptitude previous year questions I'll be bringing a series on all these questions very soon from June 2021 and before the exam I'll be uploading all the videos So the 25-30 marks gets secured And now for the remaining marks you'll have to get it from the subject of your interest say if you're a mechanical engineering student You'll have to prepare mechanical subjects You'll have to prepare your subjects You'll have to focus on that subject I'll be bringing another you havn't already Last question is when to start preparing for the exam you be starting from the 2nd year of your engineering because in 3rd year you can appear for the exam so prepare for a year Now from where to start so there are number of platforms available for the same For mathematics and general aptitude my channel would be helpful Or can opt for self study as well College teachers can help and online material is available too Many platforms from where you can get a subscription and prepare well you be starting from the 2nd year of your engineering and the MSc students can start preparing right after their BSc program and BSc 3rd year students can start right there and make a target be focused about it from the start and start preparing from the 3rd year itself now where can
