oh something's eating my tomato i don't know what it is hey everyone and welcome back to my channel today i'm going to be talking about the type of bug problems i have in my own garden i have been documenting this all summer long so that i can quickly help you identify the problems you might have in your own garden i will also be showing you my diy solution mix to help fix this problem now bugs do serve a purpose they are not all bad but in my garden i want to be the one that eats my vegetables so i need to fix this problem before it gets out of control now the first thing i like to do is to identify what type of bug that i'm dealing with in the garden what is eating my plants and even if i don't catch these little critters in the act i will find clues that they leave behind often on the leaves you'll find different types of patterns you might find squiggly lines you might find some holes some little bite marks and every single one of these patterns will identify a different type of bug so if you have a lot of different patterns you got a lot of different bugs [Applause] [Music] so [Music] do [Music] so this is neem oil it's very common among gardeners and it acts as a natural pesticide and fungicide it will also help control the bacteria and the fungi that will often produce the mildew that you'll find on your cucumber and your squash plants the dawn dish detergent will slowly break down the exoskeleton of the bug so it basically kills them on contact and this soap is biodegradable it is eco-friendly and combined with the natural neem oil you have a perfect diy natural solution that will kill the bugs on contact it will prevent them from coming back to the plants and will also kill the eggs that it's left behind [Music] now the best time to spray is going to be into the evening so that the solution will work overnight into the early morning this is when those insects and those little crawly critters are most active so i spray every couple of weeks after a heavy rainfall or if i notice that there's an increase in leaf damage or a presence of insects in my garden i'll go and i'll get the spray bottle i'll mix a new solution if i don't have one already ready to go and i will spray it in the evening spraying the plant is not enough you actually will want to spray around the dirt as well so that's my method that's what i like to do i like to spray the soil around the plant so that anything that's crawling towards it will get interrupted on its way to its buffet [Music] nice [Music] and if you're like me and you like to water your gardens in the evening just put your spray on after you water not before or it'll wash away now this is a solution that's worked for me if you have your own diy please share it in the comments below well as always thanks for watching and hopefully i've been able to turn my problem into your solution see ya [Music]
