kakang this Earth is a living organism someday Western scientists will discover that [Music] reality my time in AOA is coming to a close but what I've learned here has profoundly impacted my life in my last video I explored the traditional maudi concepts of mana tapu and Mai now I want to share a value that I promise to bring with me on my future travels it's something I feel deep within my bones whenever I find myself surrounded by [Music] Nature something that calls out to me when I'm away from it [Music] and that is Kanga what surprises me most about indigenous cultures is that the Ancients clearly had a better understanding of the world than we do I find their way of life enthralling their language poetic and their beliefs inspiring I can't help but question our current course I am Paka and I'm doing my best to understand the past we do not have to be a destructive force we can choose to be a lifegiving [Music] force and to understand the world we must understand our relationships that form the V last Web of Life and when we better understand the world we can in turn understand ourselves as I stare from the top of the mountain I see myself in every race and every nation I am the four directions of the compass the circle that binds them and the needle pointing towards the truth I am native and I am foreign I am all my ancestors I am indigenous to the earth I am every Creed religion and philosophy I see myself in the trees and plants which came long before we did I see myself in every animal both from the past and of the present I am the land beneath my bare feet and the infinite Waters of the open ocean I am the sun of the Stars whose light radiates from within [Music] me I am that which is seen and unseen broken and whole I am suffering and pain as well as joy and laughter I am alive I find meaning in these things do they mean anything to you Mari culture has taught me so much about life but Nature's wisdom is free and available to all just go outside you'll see for yourself indigenous wisdom is what is lacking in our modern world I know that our old ways will pull the new ways is back into balance but if we are not careful we might lose what we need to save ourselves [Music] [Music] I [Music] [Music] [Music] e
