- What's up, everybody? It's Enes here. Welcome to another episode. This week, we're in the
Mount Olympus neighborhood of Hollywood Hills, and about to tour this stunning
five bedroom, seven bath, $8 million modern home, right behind me. This episode we wanted to do something a little bit different and
show you guys why living in Los Angeles is so much
better than New York City. And lastly, I want to thank the
listing agent, Arvin Haddad, for allowing us to tour
his amazing listing. Now... - And I'm Ryan Serhant
and I'm here to show you an incredible four bed, four
and a half bath penthouse at 60 Riverside Boulevard
on the Upper West Side in New York City, right behind me. Because I want you to know that New York city is way better than L.A. Also, this is my listing. I'm actually a real
estate broker, I do this. So, let's get started. (upbeat music) Let's get you to the next
level together, deal? - Deal! - If you're not adapting to change you're going to be left behind! (upbeat music) - Unlike New York City, homes in Los Angeles have
front lawns, backyard areas. And today we're in the
Mount Olympus neighborhood. This neighborhood gets
amazing views, wide streets. And the house is right behind me. It's a beautiful modern architecture. We have smooth stucco
finish on the exterior, walls of glass opening up to the backyard, we're gonna tour that in a bit. This stainless steel wrapping that wraps around the first floor
and the second floor of this property, and this wide staircase
takes you up to the entry. Now, before we go back to New York City why don't we go inside and
check out the living room? All right, so you entered the home through this beautiful pivot front door, and we have this spacious foyer, two-story ceilings, skylight above, and the staircase takes
you to the second floor, but more importantly, follow me this way. We have the elevator going
down to the lower level and the second floor. And our first floor has a movie theater, which is incredible. Additional seating area with a fireplace. And to compliment this section, we also have the bar area here. Now, as we take this hallway, we have beautiful
hardwood floors, all open, and we have the incredible
living area right in front of us. Beautiful furniture setup, and this door opens up to the office. We have the desk here. Even your office gets incredible views. We currently have the shades down, but you guys get the point. Now as we go out, there's
one more thing I would like to point out, these stacking glass doors actually stack all the way till here, because it opens up the entire living room to the amazing backyard and
to these incredible views. In fact, right now, if you want, you can go down to your
garage, get in your car, drive to the beach and
enjoy this amazing weather. And that's why Los Angeles is so special. - In L.A. traffic, you're not that close to the beach. It might take you a little while. And what New York lacks in square footage we make up for with beautiful views. New York homes also don't have
any wasted square footage, which you can see from the entry foyer, every little inch is used to
this massive open living space where you've got dining and
you have a gorgeous living room with floor-to-ceiling
windows, extra high ceilings, and these massive views
out over the Hudson River. The water sells, and you've got incredible
sunset views here. Now, if you think that the living, dining, and entry foyer space is special, wait till you see the kitchen, which in this penthouse is one-of-a-kind. (upbeat music) One of the things I love
about New York City kitchens, especially penthouse kitchens like this, is that you're not cooking on
the ground floor somewhere. You're cooking in the clouds. We are 400 feet in the air, and we're in this gorgeous custom kitchen in this penthouse looking
out over billionaires row, Central Park, the Upper West
Side, and the Hudson River. It's pretty incredible. Now we've got a big color theme here. We've got a red kitchen island countertop with matching red drawers,
and a red ceiling, easy to change to white or any other color at your choosing, maybe blue. We've got gorgeous millwork lowers that wrap all the way around. And we've got an incredible
Miele appliance package. Now I know that Enes' kitchen
is probably like twice the size of this one, but, I
don't know, let's go see it. - Yeah Ryan, you're right! Our kitchen is way bigger, but we're going to do what we do and talk about some details. We have the massive
island right in the center with the bar seating, your
first sink, T.V. on this side, sliding glass doors opening
up the side of the property. We have the gas cooktops
here with induction, and they have this pop-up
vent built into the island, because they didn't want to
have a vent dropping down to take away from these amazing views. And as we look behind me, we have more of these
base and upper cabinets. I know Ryan's kitchen had the red theme, our kitchen has the blue theme. Dishwasher, secondary sink, more uppers with this glass backsplash. And as we continue to this side we have the built-in fridge,
beautifully paneled-in, more of these built-in appliances and some extra pantry space. Overall, this is very spacious and I'm pretty sure we won
the battle of the kitchens, but let's move on with our tour and go check out the primary bedrooms. (upbeat music) - Primary suite is as
penthouse as it gets. First up, you have two extra large closets that are fully built out that are locked with finger print only access. Like, I can't even get in and that's not all with the closets. You've got this whole additional wall here to showcase all of your awards, your trophies, you know, some flowers. You've got built-in
automatic watch turners, so your watches are always on time. And then you've got all these
extra custom built drawers for your jewelry, your cuff links, and anything else you want to put in. The bathroom is out of this world with one of the biggest
showers in New York City. Gorgeous tile flooring throughout. It's got such a rich character to it. And the bedroom is really something. You have extra high ceilings, which again are hard to get in New York. You have a fully built
out entertainment suite. You've got all this
additional space for, I mean, we have some couches and some chairs here, but you can put a whole
other like little room setup. Remember New York City,
space is hard to come by, which is why it's so valuable. So to have all this extra
luxurious space means that you really get what you pay for here. And then this bedroom really blows away anything you're gonna get in L.A. because you've got these views! This is what it's all about. This is why you have a penthouse, so that you can lay
here 400 feet in the air and watch the sunset over New Jersey as you're going to sleep. - And, Ryan, imagine waking
up to these amazing views and don't forget sun sets in the West, so we get the best sunsets and you can enjoy it
from this primary bedroom and the bathroom. Now we're gonna start with the bathroom. We have the freestanding tub
here with a chrome fixture. Walls of glass looking
towards these amazing views. And if you need some extra privacy, we have the automatic shades here as well. Now, right behind me, we have
this spacious walk-in shower. You pretty much have everything. We have the first shower set on the left with body sprays, chrome
fixtures, regular shower head. And we have the second
set on the other side, clad with natural stone. Again, we have the body
sprays, shower heads, and to top it all off, we have these dual rain heads right above. Gorgeous, spacious walk-in shower. Now, as we get out at
the end of this hallway, we have the water closet, and two extremely
spacious walk-in closets. And as we wrap around, this is where we have the makeup area and this gorgeous floating
vanity setup with dual sinks. Extremely spacious bathroom. Of course, we have natural stone floors and it opens directly
into your primary bedroom. But in case you need some privacy, we have the glass barn doors right here. Now let's talk about the
spacious primary bedroom. Door is on this side. We have the king sized bed situated here. Beautiful hardwood floors. On the left-hand side, we have this beautiful marble cladding this double sided gas
fireplace, T.V. above. But more importantly, this is your T.V. We have these amazing views
from downtown Los Angeles all the way to the ocean, because these sliding glass
doors stack on the left, open up the primary bedroom to
this incredible outdoor space to maximize the view, of course,
we have the glass railing. And you get this amazing weather to flow into your primary bedroom. And speaking of weather, why
don't we go to the backyard and check out why L.A. is
way better than New York. (upbeat music) - Okay, Enes, you might've
beat me on this one. But let me tell you something, this isn't just a private
terrace off this penthouse, it's a private loggia,
which means it's covered, it's safe, it's secure. And it's private outdoor
space in New York City! Which is the most valuable! People sometimes pay more
for the private terraces than they do for the interior space. And yes, our terrace might
not be the size of yours, but that's not what
this is all about here. This is private, but then, you also have the entire
park space beneath you that is at your doorstep. My front yard, is insane! I've got playgrounds,
soccer fields, dog parks, running paths and I've
got New York City, baby! Now, Enes, go easy on me, okay? - Ryan, I'm gonna try, but this backyard is simply incredible. Right now I'm on top of this bridge that is over this koi
pond, which is incredible. And this is only the side of the property. Now, as we take this walkway
on our left-hand side, we have the living room, dining area opening up to the backyard. Right here we have the
outdoor barbecue area with this dual elevation countertops, your grill on the other side. of course you get a sink here. And as we continue from
any point in your backyard, you see these amazing views. We have the whole living room
opening to this outdoor space. Nicely tiled, and that tile
continues on this side. We have the lounging areas here, and right in front of us
we have the pool and spa. Spa is a little bit more raised to take advantage of these amazing views. Property is nicely hedged. It's super private. We have the amazing weather. That's what makes Los Angeles
and this backyard so special. (upbeat music) All right, everyone,
that's it for the tour. We really enjoyed spending
the whole day here touring this amazing property. And Ryan, thank you so much for showing us your
listing in New York City. Both cities are great. I like New York and I try to
go there as much as possible. But at the end of the day,
I live in Los Angeles. I love this city, so I
have to defend it proudly. Now, before we end this video I would like to thank the
listing agent, Arvin Haddad, for allowing us the tour
his amazing listing. And now back to you, Ryan. - Okay, I get it. New York is very different
from Los Angeles. I think we all understand that. Both amazing cities, but they also have their own motivations for why people love each of them, and why people are
partial to each of them. L.A. is great, don't get me wrong. But I love New York City. I love the energy here. I love how crazy this city is and how everything is at your front door. That's why I love living
here and I love selling here. So I hope you enjoyed this and
I hope you liked watching it. - And if you did, make
sure to give us a like, subscribe to our channel,
subscribe to Ryan's channel, and we'll see you guys next week. (upbeat music)
