hey guys and girls my name is lucas in this video i would like to give you a tour of our 600 euro per month apartment here in the city of valencia spain so me and my wife we recently moved in from the uk we've been living in this apartment for about seven months and the objective of the video is just to give you a rough idea of what you can get for that similar amount of money here in valencia spain if you're considering to move over before we dive in just a few quick facts about valencia valencia is a capital city of the autonomous community of valencia it is the third largest city in spain after madrid and barcelona it's got an urban population of 1.7 million and it is home to the amazing city of arts and sciences our apartment is located in the neighborhood of rusofa over the years rusafa has become one of the most vibrant neighborhoods in valencia it's full of bars and restaurants with outdoor seating tons of streets with nice colonial style buildings and overall is just a very young neighborhood the apartment is located in the seventh floor of an eight-story building it's got an elevator and that is relevant because here in spain there's a lot of old buildings without an elevator and you have to decide whether that's important for you or not for us it was also the apartment came unfurnished it only came equipped with a fridge a dishwasher and a washing machine here's a quick glance at the layout we've got roughly 70 square meters and this long hallway configuration is very common on older buildings [Music] as we walk into the hallway the first door to our left is my office it's really a small room and we decided to occupy it as an office space [Music] here we've got a xiaomi battery operated handheld vacuum cleaner it has been a really good investment to help us keep the apartment clean next door to our left we've got the bathroom one of our favorite features is this storage space up in the ceiling up next in the hallway we've got the kitchen it is a decent size for the size of this apartment we're happy with it because it's been recently renovated it is a bit small though and for that reason we've got some storage outside in the hallway which we will see in a second and here is that storage that i was talking about the last room on the hallway we have decided to use it as my wife's office [Music] as we walk into the end of the hallway we've got the living room [Music] this is probably our favorite space in this apartment where we have decided to spend some extra effort decorating and conditioning to the way we like it [Music] by the way not everything's from ikea those three pieces of furniture that you see right there are actually picked up from the street and that will be a nice little project for my wife to refurbish [Music] and last but not least we've got the master bedroom [Music] the bedroom does include a balcony with view to the street this is a really awesome spot to just chill during the summer time sit with the beer have dinner breakfast really cool spot and that's the tour of our 600 euro per month apartment overall we're super happy living here and we wouldn't move anywhere else until we can buy a place of our own that said it's not all perfect and there are things we don't like about the apartment for example this building is a pretty old construction probably from the 1960s and although the apartment is refurbished the materials are such that allow for cold air to get in and the apartment gets really cold during the winter so we ended up having to buy electric heaters which do result in a more expensive electricity bill during the summer is the complete opposite you get the sun hitting the apartment all day so it does get really hot and we're gonna eventually gonna have to invest in an air conditioning unit as i mentioned the building is pretty old construction so the stairway is very narrow and the elevator is very narrow as well why is it a problem because it sort of limits you to what kind of furniture you can bring up to the apartment we for example we were looking for a couch and we really had to measure things up to make sure that the couch was gonna fit the elevator otherwise you just have to hire a crane company to come in and bring your stuff through the balcony and that's very expensive one last thing we don't like is because valencia is a very densely populated city everyone lives in apartment buildings there's very limited on-street parking so if you're coming home from work tired looking for a parking spot in the street it's going to be very difficult to find one for that reason i pay 80 euros a month for a parking spot and i don't have to worry about it but it is an extra cost overall we have really enjoyed our seven months in this apartment so far and we have zero regrets i hope you found some value in this video and if you're looking to move over to valencia or looking for an apartment at least this can serve you as a reference point if you find the video useful please give it a thumbs up and see you in the next one
