Westinghouse generator, running my entire house

i can't believe how bright it looks out here we have no power uh bev has her generator on and my generators on i don't know if you can hear it but uh i gotta go get some gas i don't leave a lot of gas in it just because it's not a good idea to leave gas in a generator that you're not using regularly and what woke me up our apartment went out about one one this morning and uh we didn't do anything about it we just continued sleeping so now it's i don't even know really five or six and uh my wife told me not to trip and fall because i tripped him false and i almost tripped himself i gotta go down here and get some gas oh uh my sleep you know i sleep with a cpap machine and what woke me up was gasping for air because the machine quit all right let's get some gas okay we're gassed up and uh what's funny was usually well it's not funny it's concerning usually when you call swetco power company to uh let them know you got no power they say you know it will be on by 5 a.m or whatever and now they're saying they have no idea when it'll be on so here's so that is funny it's just and it's just typical of a big business they ask for the area code where the outage is and the area code where the outages is 903 because i live in wasco texas and then they ask you for your phone the phone connected to the account which is a 318 area code so i type in my 318 phone number and they repeat it back to me 903 318 blah blah blah of course it's wrong so i go through that three times and they say well the automated system can't understand you goodbye so yeah i'm following all the prompts so i do it again and i this time i put put in the account connected to that so i where the outage is i put 318 although it's you know not 318. and then i type in my so they add three one eight three one eight i mean stupid god did they not listen to their own freaking prompts okay tell me that they do not listen to our conversations and every say it again say it loud enough for them to hear over here ever since i got up we well when you got up we started talking about turning the generator on because because swepco said they didn't know when the power would be back on and i'm watching videos and i'm actually watching plant people propagating plants and every freaking commercial has been about generators or solar generators solar power i don't usually get that many yeah i would think it is nice to have a generator i'm gonna try something i'm gonna see if now i have the breaker for the stove turned off but uh i don't have the ac on because we don't need it right this second but i think i'm gonna turn my breaker on for the stove i'm gonna see if i can get one small burner to work because uh i'm gonna cook me omelette okay where's the stove stove stuff stuff right yeah oh no that's water what the hell well well at least i know the water heater will come on i kicked the water heater on and uh and it did stress the generator but okay now i'm gonna see if i can get one small yeah hell yeah well that's good to know i'm gonna cook me an egg well that is good to know that generator this generator right here [Applause] before i forget it's capable of uh running a burner on the stove with that that's with everything else in the house on except i was not running the ac and i was not running a water heater but i think if i shut everything off i can run the water heater you know you don't need to run it constantly you just need to run it long enough to get it hot and i've already uh i already know that i can run the whole house ac and uh that's good to know and i just cooked an egg on the stove so i'm calling this my generator omelet it's got mushroom onion green pepper red pepper good stuff i don't know why this is making me so uh happy it's not quite the exact word i want to use but we got tv we got the ac running do we have internet well if we have cable we got internet so uh i have cooked on the stove um just i guess what i'm happy about is uh i was going to get a much larger generator and i didn't think this is a 7 500 watt generator i really didn't think it would run everything but it's doing fine and when i kicked the ac on it barely even uh you know brought it down and here's the ac pump right out here so i am very happy that it's doing exactly what we want now it will not run the heat it's uh i think it's a 15 kilowatt or maybe a 20 kilowatt heat strip this is not a heat pump it's a heat strip and it won't run that i tried so it will do it will run the water heater with everything else off i can turn the water heater on heat water up uh with no water heater i can run the ac for the whole house and i doubt i'm not even gonna try it i doubt i can turn the stove on with ac running and right now what i'm gonna do is cool the house down to 72 and then i'm gonna cut the generator off and change it all no i don't think i'm gonna i'm gonna do that now i'll wait because we'll lose tv and all that and i don't have electricity down in my shop so there's nothing i can do down there okay all righty that's all okay our power is back on obviously and uh i'm gonna change the oil in that since it's good and hot and i have no idea uh how much oil it takes i'm using pennzoil 1030 i don't know what size the plug is so i'm bringing a 10 millimeter 7 16 with a half inch on the other end this is a weird funnel you got to have it to put oil in it so i think i'll google how much oil it takes so i don't overfill it but i'm going to bring all this back up there with me including a rag and uh i'll see you up there in a minute i gotta go shut the generator off and then throw the safety breaker in my house and put it back on uh house current okay here's how i do this there's a generator breaker and this cuts the feed from the generator to this breaker panel there's the main breaker on okay we're good now i go shut up [Applause] [Music] [Music] so [Applause] [Applause] [Music] okay i haven't googled the uh capacity the oil capacity yet but uh that is a 12 kilometer bolt or it might be later 12 liter i don't know and uh i gotta catch this by hand so it don't drop off in the pan oh hot hot hot all right let me uh get this out of there and then i'm going to google the uh oil capacity it will be back all right it's uh 1.1 quart so it's a full quart and just a gurgle or uh yeah let me uh get that cord in there and then take that back to my shop and put it in my actually i'm gonna put it in the empty bottle there and that's what i do take it back to the o'reillys and dump it in there uh recycled oil thing so let me let me get this weird funnel in here and i'm glad i did not lose that funnel and dump a quart in there and we'll have a look at it so let me just say this about this generator this is the westinghouse 7 500 9500 peak watts that's 7 500 running watts uh it's dual fuel i've not used the dual fuel there's the connection there's the regulator and from what i understand when you run it on propane your peak is 8 500 and your running is 6500 because uh propane is just a little less horsepower than gasoline so i ran my whole house on this and uh i'm really happy with it i cooked breakfast on my stove i'm really surprised that uh i was able to have ac and all my power and i'm really happy with this and when i bought this i gave 850 for it and that's just been i don't think it's been a year maybe eight months and then i built this and then i built this uh soundproof that soundproof but sound deadening box and that's also you know what i'll put a link down below to all three videos about me building this uh box and if i can i'll even find a the video about me building the platform that it's on because as you see we're on kind of a hill here so i had to get it up somewhere flat uh i'm real happy with this i was afraid it might not be big enough i was gonna buy the the larger one that would have absolutely ran uh my furnace my 15 kilowatt furnace in the winter but you know i have some propane heaters that would more than heat this hot this is a very energy efficient house and it does not take much to heat it up so uh i opted for the smaller one uh the main reason was i couldn't find the bigger one and this one was about 300 less well now that's what i'm getting at i gave 850 for this and i just checked at lowe's and this is 1100 bucks now so generators have gone way way up and from what i understand they're getting a little hard to find i don't know why but that's the end of this video if you're interested in how i built this enclosure here and how i built that power outage and working on a generator i mean i didn't work on i just change the oil but all right we are heat treated tempered cleaned up i went ahead and mostly shaped the handle and uh when this dries i'm gonna shape the uh guard on the handle this would be my first time doing that i'm gonna sit here just a little while longer and mop up epoxy as it squeezes out and then uh i'm going home and
