like a quiet part on the western side of Tokyo okay that sounds nice I definitely want quiet I am not a city person so I'm a little apprehensive about moving to Tokyo because I love the countryside but I think you'll get a good balance over here because it's just like yeah it's the right amount of greenery not too many people but sorry it looks pretty pretty residential pretty chill you know you're still within maybe I don't know 15 20 minute train ride so like the major parts of Tokyo okay yeah you're fine I trust you [Applause] wow I have a feeling this is way over my budget it's gorgeous wow ooh it smells nice I love the under closet lighting so first off we have some storage over here these are all your shoe closets over there this is really nice yeah I'm not sure if you notice from the outside but there's actually a garage to this one too wow this is huge they got a nice little garage door feels like America I've never seen a garage like this more storage is under the stairs yeah that's nice [Music] toilet over here if you'd like to see I love the gray doors they're really pretty is it great no would they let me paint it talk sure it is nice yeah it's really pretty I love the block it looks like they kind of it's very like oh shade yeah like Ikea yes nice it's really nice even the sink look at the legs it's so cute right yeah I like the colors actually I like how it's an assortment of different colors that's fun oh look at the kitchen oh my God it's beautiful this is out so these all open up so you kind of have this like indoor outdoor oh that's nice oh that's so nice and the ceilings are massive and you can see what they did is they use these exact same tile inside and outside it keeps it kind of a nice flow what we'll take it we don't have to see the other ones I'm scared to ask the price I'm very scared we even have an apple shot oh hell yeah what yeah what when you do your morning yoga and get too sweaty or something I don't know that is wild I was not expecting that and then you could put like a cooktop out here have another barbecue out there this is beautiful they did a great job with this one this is so cool I've never seen such an open patio living room combination in Japan or anywhere honestly anywhere oh the cats would love those [Laughter] they would love that perfect for them what is it oh there's steps down into the kitchen what is it an oven yes oh my God yeah I love it a little one but it's still a dishwasher that's not little that's massive I mean for Japan yeah I like how it's all gray this is really pretty and gold this is what I would do if I had the choice to design something so it's perfect but even marble countertops it's beautiful is it actual marble oh my God that's expensive yeah they definitely didn't cut any cost to make this and that's where you put your fridge but uh that's a big fridge I feel like we would need a bigger fridge a tiny little fridge would be like dude look a bit say you go to Costco or something yeah just buy a yeah take it directly to the kitchen this is your side entrance oh that's fine it just goes straight cool yeah yeah yeah yeah cool you know your 24 cases of Pellegrino the cat food we're not that exciting what is this I love this that's so cool oh it's so awesome and then you get that all the light from out there because of the windows but it's still a wall I wonder how sound proof it would be I mean honestly it's it's like a proper door probably that's pretty fun yeah I wouldn't record it here who designed this place I love it I'm not sure let's see the bedrooms I can't wait I don't have any of the lights on so this is just all natural light right oh yeah it's great it's not bad at all oh they're not working there's enough light oh thank you there's enough light to be honest yeah yeah it's got lots of natural light oh natural oh cute it's all great especially a four bedroom it's all gray four bedrooms oh yeah bathroom first right same great host game that we got going on oh it smells nice you're gonna have a bath in here not bad this way you and Chris won't be fighting over the limited sync space but you can have plenty oh it's so nice so yeah I can't wait to see the shower wow oh my God I love it what yeah you don't get a TV I'm sorry I don't care we don't watch TV we did we never never used it not once we did use the colors though the colors yeah does this bath have colors honestly you'll be like looking outside at the awesome view so you don't need fancy lights the ceilings are so high yeah that would be really cool yeah you could probably hang a project you see that hook over there yeah hell yeah oh my God it's so pretty I love all the stone yeah so they use natural stone in here for the most part so there are parts that are synthetic but I mean it looks great either way so nice all right let's see the bedroom so there's four bedrooms you said oh is this considered a walk-in closet wow oh my gosh that's the size of a bedroom [Laughter] this is definitely not a bedroom wow it's massive uh which leads oh my God it keeps going yeah no it's massive so this is the size of like a normal bedroom in Japan yes yes oh my God what's this over here oh that's awesome okay this makes sense I feel like the closet is bigger than this room this is probably more like an office I would make this an office yeah this is the largest room is it wonder why they chose to make the closet space so massive clothes yeah the owner of this place didn't build this as an investment but because they wanted to live here oh is that what it is oh and then why didn't he live here what happened oh geez yeah but there's another nice bathroom oh cool nice yeah like a little dark thing but uh let's see if we come up here we have Mr magnetic all the library this is really nice wow oh this could be my office this could be your office yeah oh my God so this is just like a sitting room yeah no I think this this is the office yeah because imagine having your computer here and having this view that's so nice yeah another little storage room or something right over but you can see they even thought that okay there's going to be a bed right there oh oh a light oh for a little table or something oh like if you have the bed this way so they literally built it right there they really thought it through this could be like a spare bedroom just a small spare bedroom with a single bed here I mean this is like maybe five ten I don't know yeah [Music] interesting design you can put your suitcases up there yeah nice storage plenty of storage for sure I like it it doesn't feel too compact I want to move in now I like it more than any place we've ever seen I think it's really cool it's not always the price that makes a difference no it's very nice look I even have a lemon tree what oh it has lemons on it I was just looking at these at the grocery store yesterday I'm sure somebody in the comments are gonna say that's not a lemon that's definitely not lemons oh it's probably an orange I don't know whatever it is it smells great the flowers smell amazing full bloom right now so oh this is so cool is that Rosemary yeah these are more citrus fruits over here I don't know what they are oh mints mints oh that's so cool perfect what's up there oh that oh no is there a rooftop oh my God this house is so good it's gonna get a little dirty you come up here this isn't even in the floor plan so to be honest I didn't know about this no yeah so nice at night time strings I have lights up here all right so the whole place is 157 square meters not including the rooftop not including the Terrace any of the outdoor space or just indoors they're calling it a two bedroom but I think it's more like a three or four bedrooms yeah I mean it's a whole house it's almost brand new couple years old how much is I'm very scared to ask honestly oh God um we're quite far from a station aren't we it's about 15 minutes yeah okay so that would bring the price down a little bit but it's amazing I'm gonna say it's easily over chakra month a month no actually no no don't be surprised this is not in two months like 700 000 Yen that's like what five thousand dollars yeah what about that I'm shocked all right well I'll take it I don't want to look at it I will look at the other places but this is amazing it's gorgeous nicely done finding this place I'm shocked it doesn't feel like Japan at all no honestly I can't wait to see what else we have in store yeah let's go to the second part let's do it [Music] all right where are we off we're going to yo Yogi let's go okay yeah that would be very convenient so stop your running machine it's gonna be very hard to beat that first house yeah I will say that yeah but you never know you never know location could really like sway my decision because I do a lot of work with ushka and that's the reason we're coming down to Tokyo really is to make things more convenient for us yeah so it would make sense living in the same area of Tokyo and here we are we're at building number two looks very different from the first one I'm very interested to see what it's like inside I think you'll like it I mean it's not going to be as cool as the first one but the area is better the only problem that was that it is a walk-up no elevator yeah there's no elevator the movers will love it I like the door yeah yeah it feels Japanese but modern this is from the 90s interesting [Music] nice floors oh it smells good yeah it smells like Renovations that is a new renovation smell you're smelling so we're very close to Central Tokyo like a lot closer than the first one with that you know you get a little bit less space that's the one thing I have to say about this right but they still laid it out pretty well so you got this you're walking oh wow again that's a bit excessive I mean yeah a little bit but you can use it for things other than shoes exactly you can take these out then like move them wherever you like so if you want to put suitcases in here or camera equipments or something like that in here and then also you even have some natural light in here because you're going to be here yeah just standing here admiring the shoes let me just look at how big the entrance the entrance is I feel like again unnecessarily large but I guess I could put some shelving here or something yeah I mean you could do that or something like maybe a corner table here yeah something else for your cats to knock over or eat you know perfect and then you can Chuck your cat's skin to here as well this is the cat dungeon no windows no no windows no airflow all right so one small room there so that's kind of like your little I don't know storage room kind of thing you could use it as another bedroom I guess I like the light the light coming in the windows is really nice yeah I have 360 degree views of the building next year and is that a mirror no I thought that was a mirror what that's a joke that's such a weird doorway wow yeah does it have a door is it a slide oh cool with these guys that is a huge Money Saver I've noticed that most Japanese properties don't come with curtains yeah and you spend so much money getting them fitted yeah they are yeah because there's a lot of Windows probably like eight to ten Grand yeah probably yeah what I'm noticing that I don't like about this place is how echoey it is I don't think I've ever been in a house that's this echoey and I think as YouTubers we probably wouldn't be able oh that's nice oh I really like having all these blue lights yeah that's nice actually oh it's like my sleepy light thing that I have yeah you make it this color before bed it's like a sunset Japanese electronics are just Next Level we have your why over here that's really big for a bathroom oh I love the floor yeah they got like these kind of tile floors going on that's really nice all right you could put those in your neck and knuckle in about a place oh what is it what is it oh the cat bath yeah oh sorry is this a new thing then to have one massive sink because usually double sinks are double sinks yeah but think of it this way I've never seen a double price yes one big sink one big price it makes sense I love all the windows yeah this is pretty the tiling is nice like the fake floor Thailand hey you know what with that you get normal so that's good that's true yeah easy to clean and it's a giant bath as well it is it's really nice I mean this is considered a uh like a family size place look at that yeah you could comfortably fit two people in there and it's only slightly wet what I like about Japanese baths doesn't say it like how was half of your body in the hot water you can do that it's nice and you want to have a long bath but you don't want to be really hot I like it I love the look of it it's definitely not as exciting as the last property it's pretty we haven't even gotten to most of it wow this is a big room yeah so this is the living room dining room and the kitchen is over there it's kind of like a separated thing it's plant out there oh that's nice yeah yeah that's pretty yeah but you know what again it doesn't have honestly I feel like we shouldn't have started with the best house because I know everything else I'm just gonna be like but it's not as good as the first place even though this is really nice yeah I mean I would say this is probably going to be the more useful one yeah is about the same size as the person it's it's really big yeah and it doesn't look as big because you don't have like the whole indoor outdoor thing right here it's not the greatest view there is a plant on the wall that's kind of nice the plant is nice plants it's a climbing plans we have the master bedroom with a giant closet over there you have two rooms that are like this size oh this is a good size yeah so with closets yeah with closets so this is maybe your in-house Studio kind of deal yeah this would be an office yeah behind you that's your backdrop oh that's pretty yeah that is a nice color this is a cat shot it is a cat shelf like literally they would love it they would be looking at this because it's the only area that's clear and not the Blurred glass yeah they would just stare down there at nothing they could see stuff though there'd be Birds I think yeah this is Chris's Studio oh that's a nice no this one's mine I like that yeah yeah I like the gray it's darker it's darker yeah I like it though it feels cooler you still get the clear one cat window over there the one thing I prefer to this place compared with the last one is that the cats couldn't escape there's not really anywhere for them to go whereas with the other one they could go out through the big doors in the back yeah front door of the garage there's so many places for them to escape I feel like I would have a chance to catch them before they ran out under the road yeah yeah they would oh there's a gate perfect yeah right but uh I mean like so this is just useful right the other one was beautiful yeah right and like sunny and nice you need to put all your barbecue whatever you want but this one is easier to lay out and it's a good location and it's a great for me at least because it's very close to ushka which is good in general yeah but yeah that's like it's such a tough thing to choose I want to prioritize location or do I want to prioritize how beautiful the property is [Music] all right how much does it cost are we taking a guess um three bedroom right three bedroom 130 square meters in a nice location yeah very good location how big maybe no could you go man you were closer than the first time you guessed okay so you said yeah [Music] really oh I'm sorry there is an engine okay all right which is yeah for the location and the size that's a reasonable price and it's brand new like it well the renovations are brand new yeah so since this month uh so this is actually from 1992. right yeah 30 something years old sturdy building though because at that time they had already put in all the earthquake safety features and stuff yeah so it's just uh yeah just a solid building yeah so that's our two properties for today it's been really interesting to see the variety of choice we have here in Tokyo yeah no I mean basically you know even if you have the same budget depending on where you are and the type of property it could look completely different yeah we need to really consider location the size of the place how cat friendly it is if they allow cats in the first place just so many things we need to consider and like in there the echo was a bit bad so even if I love the place I don't think it would be a good choice for us I see so this is a long process I think These places are so much more than I would have expected. I know Tokyo rent is expensive but that was way more than I expected. You can buy a very nice house for 2 years of that rent in my country.

With Japanese mortgage rates being so low I wonder if buying a place wouldn't be cheaper on the long term. They could get a $3.5m-ish home if they pay $7k/m @ 2%.
