Weird Episode - LICE QUARANTINE?! (Invader Zim)

[Music] you know i told myself that after dark harvest i would stop that i would leave invader zim alone you would think as an audience watching my video this is as far as saber will go why would he go back to this why would he go back to witness the horrors the additional horrors of invader zim i don't know with the pimples with the pimples again with the nightmarish halloween episode with the baloney episode why would saber willingly want to suffer on our account you want to know why cause i like you guys all right let's talk about the lice episode oh you don't know about the lice episode oh let me tell you about it invader zim is a show that aired on nickelodeon back in the early 2000s and it truly was one of a kind it was created by jonah vesquez vasquez i believe that's how you say your name jonan here made a show that is truly timeless one of a kind wonderful and to this very day is still so much fun to watch like i was watching some episodes and i still find myself laughing out loud actually if anything the way it's aged with its dark humor it's random humor with being kind of grim it it works with the current climate of humor like when you look at culture right now it's like we're tuned we're all going to die the world is awful and you have invader zim which kind of resonates that fact so you can see children that our whole society is nothing more than a perilous house of cards destined to collapse under its own weight dip the warranty on your desk is run out get a replacement from the pile yes ma'am fact take that for what it's worth you know what i mean it resonates well with the dark grim outlook of the future where it's like we're highly technological but in a capitalistic you know eat your pizza come to bloaty's pizza and get your food you pig you stupid human eat your grub and you're all disgusting and and diseased and awful and it's only a matter of time until aliens take us over but oh no we're stuck with the one alien who is incompetent so we're kind of stuck in a stalemate that is invader zim and i love it it's dark humor and it still resonates with me to this very day so if you're new to the show and you've never seen it i implore you check it out you might find yourself pleasantly surprised going why is this still relatable spoiler alert it's because life only gets more depressing the older you get so it becomes more and more and more relatable god this is a sad video okay let's talk about the episode itself so this is one of my favorite episodes for a big reason dib and zim go head to head pretty often throughout the show and there are some episodes where dib comes out on top or zim comes out on top or neither of them come out on top so that is the case for the latter of the examples where zim isn't the one orchestrating some master plan or dib isn't the one trying to exploit or expose zim it's just this random thing happening on its own which is you guessed it lice so much lice and in theme with 2020 it of course includes a [Music] quarantine [Music] so the school is overrun with lice all the human children are infected scratching their heads some kids actually scratching through their skin to the top of their skulls didn't notice that the first time i watched it but as an adult i see it now that kid is scratching through his skull god this show is great zim though is the exception well along with miss bitters these two have not been infected by likes it turns out that zim's body isn't ideal for lice and instead it goes for human kids in order to combat this new infestation the school calls up and teleports countess the countess of against lice she shows up with her minions and she's like yes this is a massive outbreak we have to quarantine the school no one can leave you are going to be shorted by how extreme your case of lice may be and you're going to be put into different rooms so dib is stuck with this one kid who was the initial kid to get likes he is what i guess you would call patient zero and dib here it's so funny because dib is like there are aliens people say that aliens don't exist and here he is doubting countess here who is like there is a a queen lice we must find the hive we must find the creature who's creating this catastrophe and div is like isn't this a bit extreme it's like dib you of all people have no right to talk that is no kid he's an alien an alien bigfoot there's an alien in my guts and he's trying to destroy my brain ah well run along then so the episode continues on you see how horrifying it is for these kids being treated by the countess and her goons how they're having their heads dunked in like acid and acid but like detox i suppose monkeys eating the fleas not fleas lice and then you've got dib who's like we gotta break out well in the process dib finds himself with the countess and then like the floor crumbles and gives away to surprise surprise the queen so there is a queen lice and they're like yeah turns out she's real and dibs like i'm wrong again the hubris here is fantastic and the countess then is like we have to defeat the queen and of course along the way we get some nice grim humor we get like some the show is so funny it's aged so well where 31 year old me is watching this and just hearing these background characters who never talk have this commentary of like yeah the count is she's kind of crazy she kind of does this she does this she just keeps talking it's great the show has remained so fresh throughout the years and that is an accomplishment but i digress it is time to fight and throw down with this queen lice which let's be real here i'm getting xenomorph queen vibes here so what is the answer to combat this lice queen how do we defeat her ding ding ding the answer is zim apparently he's got something in his biology that helps to combat lice and here's the best part of the episode they build this blender rocket launcher not rocket launcher they build this blender laser that uses zim's body as ammo to create a laser beam that attacks the lice and disinfects them and kills them but at the same time once more zim is the ammo he's having his body like ripped apart in order to have the gun be powered so when zim's pulled out of the ammo compartment his body looks like the root of a vegetable that's been skinned off so zim loses dib loses the only winner i see here is the countess and that's it that's the episode so let's recap here uh children ripping off their skin to scratch their skull check uh zim having his lower body blended up in order to be used as ammo for a laser check dib going crazy well that's kind of normal but then being proven wrong because he's a doubter who's actually has no right to be a doubter check and then of course do we have some funny background humor and some funny background dialogue with characters who are one off why are you telling me this you betcha there it is so not only is this episode weird as hell it's funny as hell too i had so much fun watching this unlike dark harvest which is truly and i genuinely mean this hard for me to watch i don't do well with organs folks this episode is much more fun a lot more chaotic and it's nice to see that this is an episode where zim loses dib loses and the winner here is the countess so gg to you i'm not sure if you're related to miss bitters but i wouldn't be surprised if you are and i wouldn't be surprised folks if i come back to invader zim here in the future to weigh in on some more weird episodes because when it comes to potential well this show has no limit as a
