WEEK IN MY LIFE | first week with our golden puppy and texas winter storm outages!

[Music] we're starting a new week guys it's monday ready to go i'm looking out for my window sun's coming up like the day hello friends and welcome back to my channel i am starting off a new weekly vlog in this video but i'm starting on a random day because i wanted to do a little intro to this i started editing and i feel like it's just a little bit of a chaotic vlog and so i wanted to summarize kind of what this vlog is one we got our puppy cash which if you haven't seen my last video or i think it was my last video it may have been a couple videos ago i showed us bringing him home and this was our first week that we had him it was also the week that all the craziness hit texas so there were power outages this week there were a lot of things that happened i'm sure you guys have seen everything about texas in the news and you just see kind of the progression of everything as this vlog goes but on monday when i'm recording i just had no idea it was going to be like this and so i just wanted to say that is also in this vlog i also wanted to say that i don't have my laptop that i normally use it is getting repaired and basically everything's just been pushed back i haven't had it for a couple of weeks now so i'm just using aiden's old macbook which doesn't have the same software i use so the editing is just a little bit more simple but i will have my regular one soon you guys know my editing is kind of my favorite thing i like to just make things i don't know more cinematic if you will but i'm limited with imovie so i wanted to put that in there and lastly i just for this intro so let's just go ahead and get right into the vlog i wanted to do a video that was our first week with our puppy so this is a week of my life mainly focused on little cash cash is our gold retriever puppy if you haven't seen my video bringing him home we got him on saturday it's monday so we've had a couple of nights last night he cried a little bit but he took him out at five to go use the bathroom and then he slept till 7 45 so not too bad he's got a lot of energy this morning because he's just been in this crate snoozing he's going to drive by my ear but if you guys are new here my name is michelle you got little cash you live in dallas if you guys want to stick around i think it's a fun time to stick around i do these weekly vlogs all the time but this one's going to be a little bit more chill our power has been going on and off they're trying to conserve energy right now and so i don't know if our power is going to go off again it's also just snowy out so we're spending a lot of time inside that is kind of our week this week i'm really excited to take you guys along with me he's really been really good so far he really hasn't been too much definitely takes a lot of attention though he pretty much just plays for 30 minutes sleeps for 30 minutes we take him out process repeats that's basically his routine so we're taking him out every single hour well he's just got a little puppy batter little puppy platter i also need to get groceries sometime today i don't know how i'm going to apparently like the grocery stores are ransacked but we don't have a lot of food we ate frozen pizzas last night which were actually really good so i don't mind at all let's just get into it [Music] so i just got back from the gym i'm honestly really tired i didn't really want to do that but i want to try to stick to my routine as much as possible right now [Music] [Music] so our power went out again which is not very convenient i'm getting ravenous because i was gonna cook a frozen pizza we had for lunch but now our oven doesn't work so i'm eating dates i just made a little real of when we brought home cash that i'm gonna post on instagram right before aidan's laptop died so i can use it but yeah i really want to go venture out and try to get groceries because i'm assuming like a target would still have power so we might do that just to get some basics give good [Music] this is the worst lighting ever because our power is out again this is absolutely nuts i had no idea that this vlog was going to be like this i'm so sorry it's just crazy hopefully by tomorrow things will be good our apartment is freezing but luckily we've had power on and off it came on from four to seven and it turned off again it's been off ever since it's like nine now i'm eating a twizzler because we don't really have a lot of food my parents house it has been off since 5 a.m and it's 40 degrees there right now so they're staying at my sister lindsay's house i think that's crazy aidan just took cash out cash just slept for like two hours so hopefully we're gonna start riding down here soon we were gonna have our neighbors come over because they have a puppy as well we have no power so i got all the candles lit i'm probably gonna end the vlog for today on this note because i really don't know what else to talk about i went to a gas station to get some food luckily we made a frozen pizza the few minutes so we had power i'll see you guys tomorrow hopefully i'll have a better update then good morning guys it is tuesday we still don't have power but is it really that bad when you got this little guy to look after oh yes ow he did so well last night they put him to bed at 10 30. he only woke up once and that's because i was checking on him because he was being so quiet and then he woke up at six took him outside played for a little bit and then he slept in bed with us for a little bit so i think today's plans are the exact same as the plans of yesterday it's getting a little chilly in here now so hopefully we get some spurts of power today but we'll see it's supposed to snow again tonight which is really inconvenient but hopefully by tomorrow things will be better we'll see so here's my first update in a while still fairly chilly in here it's two o'clock right now aidan just wanted to try to find us some food in terms of like hot food i think there's more stuff open it's supposed to start snowing tonight at eight i can't take myself seriously with this hat on and so hopefully we can find some stuff to eat we have like snack foods like we have nuts and crackers and stuff like that but it really just has me thinking for people who have babies or elderly people i don't know what people are doing right now to help those people it makes me really sad i really hope and pray that everything comes back on here soon we're thinking about going over and staying with my family but we want to try to get our car fixed tomorrow in the morning if we can but we don't even know if we're going to be able to but they're not open today but they said tomorrow 8 a.m they should be open yes yes yes luckily i have him he is such a distraction right now because he requires so much attention that it's just kind of nice to get to bond with him trying to teach him to sit we're trying to do some training i watched a lot of zach george's videos here on youtube about training puppies and they were really helpful so i'm trying to remember all the stuff that i watched before we got him i think i want to make a list too and everything comes back on what i need to get done i cleaned today so i'm just trying to be as productive as i can well also recognizing that this is crazy he has discovered the rug and he started to chew some more stuff so i had frozen a kong for him to chew with just a tiny bit of peanut butter in it but of course our freezer isn't working now so i'm sad that i can't give him that because i know his teeth are probably bothering him that is the update no one really knows when things are going to come back on for now so i'm just trying to stay positive he has not had a single accident today in the apartment we do take him out very often but he's been such a good boy today he's just been the goodest boy the greatest boy in the whole world in the whole wide world who just wants to chew everything inside i also cannot get over the puppy breath scent i love the way that he smells and i just keep sniffing him because i just know it's gonna go away so soon i'll report back if we have food hopefully he ends up finding some food we're trying not to drive on our spare a lot so he's just trying to go places around here that are close we even got so bored that we built him the sport for when he naps because basically his entire days naps and very short play sessions but he really likes it it's just so funny it's so funny seeing all the different places that he just immediately falls asleep in it's so cute it is seven o'clock right now i have not vlogged for a while i look like an absolute crazy person because it has been a day as you can tell the power is on right now we've been trying to do everything we can think of to use the power we're charging everything luckily aidan got some water bottles while he was out today because there are a lot of places around here where they have a boil water warning which means you shouldn't drink your tap water so we got bottled water the only thing that was open to eat was pizza so we got like three large pizzas we've been keeping two of them and then we gave one away to our doorman because they're dealing with so many crazy calls right now people trying to figure out what's going on and so i just felt really bad for them yeah this is absolutely insane i know this might seem really crazy because you're like it's not even that much snow it gets cold where i live but texas is just really not equipped for this because we're not used to this here in texas and so the roads aren't really great luckily they're pretty salted down our neighbors are also nurses and they both work the night shift and they have a great dane and a puppy great dane and they usually take them to a doggy day care but obviously their daycare's not here so we're watching them too i'm about to go over there when cash wakes up he's like wedged into the pillows he's so cute when he sleeps and he sleeps for so long so i always try to do everything when he's asleep try to take them out too they get offering at 7 30 in the morning so we're trying to watch them through the night i am getting a little bit stressed though but it just is what it is aidan's not even working because no one has power it's just crazy i've never seen something like this before in dallas but i'm just so thankful for all the people are trying to get this going and all the people who are delivering food and being open right now it's just really thankful because otherwise we would just be eating the chocolate that we have in our pantry it's just weird cause some people have power some don't some have it for 15 minutes and then it goes off i know people haven't had it for three days and it's in austin san antonio i heard of someone in oregon who had it too so i got some acne going on i actually was trying to see a dermatologist this week for my hormonal acne that's my little update i feel like this vlog has been a series of updates but i'm kind of glad i vlogged [Music] you this eat that you can't eat that bub no lady i can eat your fingers you need your fingers lady oh my god you can't have the camera good morning guys it is about it's about 7 45 right now we woke up at 7. i look really tired despite the fact that he went to bed at 11 30 last night and slept completely through the night did not make a peep at all i kept checking on him because i was getting scared took him out this morning went potty and i just can't get over how well he's been doing at night it's insane i just did not expect this at all as he's destroying my fingers the biting is the one thing that we're going to work on but we still have little peppers we also woke up with power which is nice so trying to do some things while the power's on hopefully it stays i say that every time it doesn't but there's like a fresh sheet of snow outside but yeah maybe today we can start getting some things done i might try to edit some videos as you can see i'm just air drying some stuff right now playing with peppers playing with peppers you just took a boy he was so cute when i went to get him this morning he just like was sleeping then his eyes popped open and his tongue went out and he's ready to go we're having some morning playtime yes yes yes go go go go go go go go go go go so it's about 9 30 right now i am putting on my gym clothes since we have power i'm gonna see if i can get a workout in aiden just went to a tire store we found a repair shop and he said that he doesn't have any tires in stock but he can try to fix our puncture on the one that we have i don't think he's gonna be able to though because it's like pretty punctured with a nail but we were still thankful to find someone it's nice that he's gonna try and he was only a mile away from us which is nice because we got a lot of snow last night and our car is not doing great almost now so didn't want to drive too far cash is asleep out there so he has been going on it biting rampage and so finally our kong froze so he's playing with that thinking that it's doing the job we put a tiny bit of peanut butter in it frozen so he's having fun trying to get it out i think this is going to keep him occupied for a while though oh cash sit good boy that's a good boy yes look come sit sit cash sit sit good boy good boy yes cash sick no sit good boy good boy yes here you come here sit sit [Music] good boy yes you're a good boy yes cash come sit good boy yes it's a little bit later now aiden actually got our tire fixed they were able to fix it which is such a blessing so he went to target to go grab us some food it's just hard because you don't know if the power is going to stay on so i don't really know what to get and i think we'll just try to work in batches and then also get some pantry stuff but i miss like having real food and i wanted him to get fruits like i haven't had fruit and almost a week now i feel like i also want to say we're not using the puppy pads as like training him to pee on them it's just in case he pees on the rug we're trying to kind of keep it nice and so we have these down but we're not actively telling him to pee on the puppy pads because we do want him to be house trained we just took him out though what are your favorite things that your dogs like to chew for teething because i don't want to keep giving him treats cause like chew treats or anything he has all these ropes which he likes for about five minutes and then he gets over them and wants to bite like wood wants to buy our ottoman that's like a scratchy material or of course hands are the best in feet i'm trying to kind of pull and say ow when it's a really hard bite so he learns like there's a softer bite and one that hurts more but i've tried a frozen kong he kind of liked wasn't super about i tried a frozen washcloth he really wasn't about that at all the ropes i think are the best i think the key is you have to actively be playing with them the minute you're not the minute they are chewing up something and obviously we could set up like a playpen we might do that too but he's just really not that bad when you have eyes on him all the time it's just when he scratches his belly he moves his foot but i've just been trying to do some work while he naps and i'm using aiden's laptop right now i'm just using imovie it feels like i'm back in high school editing so he's immune forever so this is what we're up to right now i think this one's his favorite this little one he really likes this one he has a red one that he kind of likes and then he has one we do tug of war with we're trying to teach him tug of war yeah what were their favorite toys that they couldn't get enough of i'm trying to keep redirecting so it's helpful to have lots of toys on hand i have been editing my vlog adam was occupying him most of the afternoon so i could get this edited and hopefully up tomorrow i'm trying to do it all while we have power assuming we'll keep it i'm pretty sure we're gonna have a boil water notice come up soon because a lot of the neighborhoods around us are slowly getting it luckily we have bottled water so i think we'll be fine i really don't know though you can't really predict these things luckily we got some food our car is working so we feel a lot better we can always drive and stay with my family if you need to but i'm so excited to upload this it'll probably be up tomorrow i'm also excited because i found this account that's sharing a bunch of restaurants that are open and there's a restaurant a taco diner that's open tonight so we're gonna pick up food from there which oh having something that's not pizza is such a game changer i'm so excited to eat it get chips in queso and some brisket tacos like [Music] josh falls asleep in the weirdest places but this has to be the weirdest he's in the windowsill and it's freezing right there i don't know how he's sleeping there he likes licking the condensation from the ice right now and it's so sweet it's so cute though because you can just pick him up and move him anywhere and he'll find a little nook to sleep in and get cozy it warms my heart it's so [Music] cute [Music] good morning guys it is thursday today it is 10 30 between six and seven is when i'm trying to take him out in the morning which feels really good i love getting up earlier i'm so happy for him that he's getting me up earlier i just posted a video i'm responding to comments it's the one of him so everyone's being so sweet i'm just going through it but i actually have a zoom call with the subscriber at 11. i'm just gonna go without makeup because i'm trying to do more stuff without makeup and not feeling like i need to get ready for things but i am going to try to put on some different clothes and my pjs which i love i'll have these link down below they're like my favorite comfy little pjs they're a little set cash is right here in his bed he never really sleeps in his bed but he's been liking it lately he likes this and he likes the window windowsill when the condensation forms he likes laying there too we had a major play session this morning aidan actually has work and he was on a work call this guy who was tearing up everything he was getting into the puppy pads ripping them up he was going into our speaker but he's been so good up to this point to the point where i feel a little like why are you so good so it kind of made me a little happy that he was being crazy even though i was watching him he still was just going nuts he's about to go back to bed i think that play session earlier really wore him out he was growling he was barking it was actually really cute though i liked seeing him like that but i'm gonna do this call at 11 with her we actually have a coffee shop across the street that's open so eden's going to grab us some coffee and also probably like a pastry or something it's getting warmer today it's 27 which is really good tomorrow i think it's supposed to be 39 which will be awesome to help melt all this snow on the ground and hopefully people can start getting power again the big thing now is water a lot of people don't have water or they're not supposed to use their water hopefully that gets fixed too i've just been seeing all the videos of people's houses flooding and pipes bursting and it just breaks my heart so much but you feel so out of control like you can't do anything i know there's some resources people are sharing but it's just absolutely bizarre and it makes you feel like why are we able to sit in our apartment with power right now that we've had for a day and a half while some people don't have any even people in our apartment building don't have it it depends on the utility company that you have i'm pretty sure our apartment sent out a message i don't really understand that with all that being said that is my day today i just got ready i'm about to go get a workout in i just finished my call with my viewer which went really well i've never worn these tops working out but i'm going to try today because i'm really really long nap so i got a lot done and then he was playing with them we just took him outside and now we're just hanging out he just ran to run a quick errand and then i think we're gonna figure out what food we're gonna eat tonight and just keep having the best time ever i'll show you guys tonight but last night he was so funny while we were trying to watch our movie he was so confused i put a little clip in but he was literally watching the movie and anytime something would happen on the movie that was like surprised him he would freak out and he ran into aiden's arms it was so cute so we're going to try to finish our movie we didn't get to finish it last night but try to get him to get used to it we've also been working on stay he has sit down really well come here is down really well but stay is taking a little bit more practice so do that and then continue practicing without treats too it's another thing the little training session is pretty short i mean he's a puppy like his attention span isn't but he is so smart like he's such a smart dog home retrievers are crazy smart i also want to teach him to fetch that's another thing i want to start working on too but that one's going to be a little bit harder i think we're just trying to practice playing right now and practicing tug of war because he likes that [Music] so why didn't you why didn't you call starting the vlog today on friday we just went to the p.o box a little drive and actually had quite a few things so my unboxing of things i'm really really thankful for this stuff i honestly did not
