oh [Music] help us oh Lord to learn the truth your word imparts to study and follow your own will inscribed Upon Our Hearts help us oh Lord to to live the faith that we Proclaim that all of our thoughts are words and deeds May glorify your [Music] name in the name of the father and of the son of the holy spirit amen the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God God in the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all and with your spirit as we continue this Easter season we hear very important part in The Gospel according to John this is the conclusion of what we call the first part of the Gospel of John called The Book of signs and the Lord is saying believe me look at me lean into me to have eternal life and it hurts his heart when he sees the hardness of those who are looking but not seeing Brethren let us acknowledge our sins and so prepare ourselves to celebrate the sacred Mysteries I confess to almighty God and to you my brothers and sisters that I have greatly sinned in my thoughts and in my words in what I have done and in what I have failed to do through my fault through my fault through my most Grievous fault therefore I ask blessed Mary ever virgin all the angels and Saints and you my brothers and sisters to pray for me to the Lord Our God May almighty God have mercy on us forgive us our sins and bring us to everlasting life amen Lord of Mercy Lord of Mer Christ of Mery Christ have Mery Lord of Mercy Lord Havey let us [Music] pray oh God life of the faithful glory of the humble blessedness of the just listen kindly to the prayers of those who call on you that they who thirst for what you generously promise may always have their fill of your plenty through our Lord Jesus Christ your son who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit God forever and [Music] everen a reading from The Acts of the apost Apostles the word of God continued to spread and grow after Barnabas and Saul completed their relief Mission they returned to Jerusalem taking with them John who was called Mark now there were in the church at Antioch prophets and teachers Barnabas Simeon who was called Niger Lucius of sirene Manan who was a close friend of ter Herod the tetrarch and Saul while they were worshiping the Lord and fasting the holy spirit said set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them then completing their fasting and prayer they laid hands on them and sent them off so they sent forth by the Holy Spirit went down to saloia and from there sailed to Cyprus when they arrived in salamis they proclaimed the word of God in the Jewish synagogues the word of the Lord thanks be to God oh God let all the nations praise you oh oh God let all the nations praise may God have pity on us and bless us may he let his face shine upon us so may your way be known upon Earth among All Nations your salvation oh God let all the nations Praise You may the Nations be glad and exalt because you rule the peoples in equity the Nations on the earth you guide oh God let all the nations Praise You may the peoples praise you oh God may all the peoples Praise You may God bless us and may all the ends of the Earth fear Him oh God let all the nations Praise You Hallelujah hallelu hallelu hallelu hallelu hallelu I am the light of the world says the Lord whoever follows me will have the light of life hallelu hallelu hallelu the Lord be with you and with your spirit a reading from the holy Gospel according to John Glory To You O Lord Jesus cried out and said whoever believes in me believes not only in me but also in the one who sent me and whoever sees me sees the one who sent me I came into the world as light so that everyone who believes in me might not remain in darkness and if anyone hear hears my words and does not observe them I do not condemn him for I did not con come to condemn the world but to save the world whoever rejects me and does not accept my words has something to judge him the word that I spoke it will condemn him on the last day because I did not speak on my own but the father who sent me commanded me what to say and speak and I know that his commandment is eternal life so what I say I say as the father told me the gospel of the Lord praise to you Lord Jesus Christ so today we have this image of light even the Allelujah verse says I am the light of the world whoever follows me will have the light of life it's very interesting that the first reading today speaks about the Christian prophets sometimes we think of prophets as just the guys in the Old Testament but here we have several of these prophets given a charism of Prophecy and they are worshiping they are fasting and the Holy Spirit pouring his light upon them is able to share and speak the word of God saying set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work which I have called them and this is the very beginning of that very powerful missionary adventure of St Paul remember St Paul has his conversion and then he's speaking locally to those around him talking about the Christ but then it says he goes away for a little while into Arabia he spends time there he spends a lot of time there soaking in praying trying to understand what is the Lord calling him to and so he comes after Barnabas and Saul they complete this relief mission that they were doing they come to Jerusalem they go right to the heart of Christianity and that is where they receive this very powerful commission to to go forward even more it says that they laid hands on them they sent them off that's also an image of in a sense a like a confirmation we do do that for confirmation we also do that for ordination it's that calling upon the holy spirit to send forth and they go forth and proclaim the word of God and we can hear about a lot of those adventures in in his uh St Paul's letters as well but I want to talk about this image of light and prophecy because they're linked and even if you look at the beautiful document of the second Vatican Council alumin genium which talks about the church's Mission and says that prophecy in a particular way is linked with the very light of Christ that shines a Radiance and pushes away the darkness of error of confusion and brings Clarity and so each one of us when we are baptized we are brought into Jesus's Priestly prophetic and kingly roles his offices and so all of us are called to this call of being prophets some of us might be given a particular charism of Prophecy there sort of an inten intensification of that and all of us though are called to receive the Light of Christ and in such a way radiate that Light of Christ out to be leaven within our world in our workplace in our home in our marriage in our friendships in our Parish to be able to live in the identity of being a beloved son or daughter of the Lord and when we are in that identity then the radiance shines it's kind of like like a like an electric switch battery or something like that it's not going to radiate unless there is power aligned so that that power can come in and let the light bulb shine so we have to be aligned in our identity of being Sons and Daughters of our heavenly father in Christ and I want to give you a a beautiful image it actually comes from literature comes from fantasy literature of The Lord of the Rings and it's a very powerful way of understanding how the enemy works and how Jesus as the light of the world works so I don't know if you've read it or not or seen the movies or so but it's a very famous work considered one of the the greatest of the 20th century by jar toin and there is one character in it she is a um she is a shield maiden of Rohan this this horse riding people um so she's kind of like a um kind of like a warrior princess I guess you can say but because of different things that happen within their culture her gifts were in a sense put aside and the gifts of women to to have this this Valor in a sense and so she goes off to war but she covers over her femininity by taking on the guise of a male Soldier she hides her golden hair she hides everything about her and she goes off one of it one of the things is just it's part of the the famous literary disguise of the the hidden Soldier um that that that comes forth but there's something deeper there there's a wound that she has where she doesn't see the beauty of her identity in her femininity her culture has said femininity is weak and it should just be put aside there's no Valor in it so she goes off saying in order for me to fight I have to fight in a sense as a masculine and so she's not living in her identity of being a true daughter and the power of that tenderness there so then she Encounters this evil being called a nazgol and this evil being was at one point a man but because of wickedness because of selfishness he in a sense Hollows himself out and so he is unbeing he's a black hole and anything that he touched touches he sucks that light to make it get gobbled up and so when he comes and this is how the enemy works the enemy can never create he can only take something like a vampire or like a spider and in a sense Hollow it out from the inside injecting Venom that then liquidates everything inside the creature the prey and making it just a shell CU that's what he is so he starts doing this to all the men who are around who are trying to fight taking away their courage in a sense sucking away their masculinity in which they are just shells in a sense there they're they're they can't do anything and there's even this little hobbit his name is Mary and he can't do anything it says he's paralyzed by the screams of this monster and also by just the presence of this monster that's sucking light into a black hole until this warrior princess aowin she comes forward and she stands between her Fallen King the uncle who has fallen and this evil being is trying to destroy him she comes there and says you have to get through me and this monster says don't you know no living man can kill me and this is what she does she takes off her helmet she allows her glowing yellow hair to Sparkle in the sun she's able to reveal tears tears of vulnerability but they're the Eternal strength of caring for those who are weak and vulnerable and so there's a strength in allowing her maternity to shine forth her femininity to shine forth her physical Beauty but it's also revealing an inner beauty of strength and she says her name she says my name is aoin I am a woman and in doing that she comes into her identity again she doesn't continue to live the lie but she becomes linked into her identity as being a daughter a woman feminine and she renounces the lie that her femininity is weakness and when that happens there is this Radiance that a theologian his name is Von balazar would say when someone is linked in with their calling their vocation who they are in the depth of their being Radiance shines forth this prophetic Radiance shines forth and it's very much the very light of Christ that has been placed within each one of us as we live out our vocation our little light becomes brighter because it's actually linked to the one true light just like our little Easter candles they become bright only because of the Light of Christ the Easter candle in a sense radiates forth and ignites all of the little candles and when we are living our vocation out and this deep vocation like we have the vocation of the priesthood religious life marriage these different vocations there but even our vocation of living out our masculinity our femininity and in our world today this is one of the areas that's under attack we have different movements that are saying there is no distinction there is merely just this kind of neutral humanism that now is even saying now with AI and different things like that maybe we can just rise above our biological Humanity because maybe all that we are is just a mind and so then we get into what's called transhumanism and so it keeps going more and more and more and it's not going to end well unless we go back to this call that we are created in the image and likeness of God as male and female and that's something that's not irreducible and so this is that prophetic call in the deepest sense of what that means is to [Music] come under the Gaze of our heavenly father and to not hide the gift that he's given us that's revealed through our body our body is not just a machine and it's not just secondary we are embodied persons that's what makes us different than an angel an angel and sometimes we say oh you know when I get to heaven I'll just be a little angel it's like well no actually you'll you'll be a human forever angels are cool but they're not us and they're never going to be us because our body will be glorified and brought to Heaven as well if we are allowing the Light of Christ to shine forth from us and we stay connected to that Light of Christ then he will take our lowly bodies and make them like his own glorified and will be able to reign with Christ in heaven as an embodied person and that inod is masculinity and femininity and it's going to be beautiful just to see how those deep irreducible aspects of living human existence they're going to shine out even more just like if you hear a chorus hear mles hear a chamber choir and you have the feminine voice and the masculine voice and they lift each other up in such a beautiful complimentarity if the masculine voice is just by itself it's going to be dark and brooding if the feminine voice is just by itself it'll be shrill without something to Anchor it in but when the two of them are together they image the Trinity because when notes are so perfectly aligned in harmony you can even hear a third note that's called a ghost note that just comes from this their beauty of being fully United and that is the image of the Trinity that we will be singing forever this beautiful hym of praise pH not just as a sort of neutralized Humanity but in our masculinity and in our femininity now going back to that story of The Lord of the Rings when she reveals the truth of who she is and allows the radiance of being to shine forth it stops the nasol in his tracks he kind of pauses for a moment and then it all also wakes up Mary the little hobbit because remember how the enemy pulled out through lies pulled out his strength and his masculinity and just made him paralyzed so that he couldn't he couldn't rush to the aid of those in need very much like how Adam in the Garden of Eden when Eve is trying to fight the serpent on her own Adam is just paralyzed but here because of that beautiful gift of femininity Mary sees the the beauty of femininity shining forth and it wakes him up it allows him to rise to the occasion to pull out his sword and to fight the nasol in such a way that he distracts the nasgo and then Awin is able to defeat that nasol go so masculinity coming alive femininity shining in its Radiance of being together the unbeing of the enemy is no match just as at the foot of the cross you have Mary and Christ and this beautiful working together of new Eve and new Adam to bring forth this powerful gift of the the new Humanity coming forth from the side of Christ in the Holy Spirit and in the birth of the church so the Lord says I came into the world as light and everyone who believes in me might not remain in darkness let's ask that the Lord wake us up also through the the Beautiful gift of the radiance of Christ the Divine Mercy shining forth in our Darkness but also the beautiful image of his mother who comes to us to open up the tenderness within our own heart so that we might receive the Light of Christ and not remain in darkness what Jesus says here is he says I'm pouring out light but you have the choice whether to accept or not you have the choice whether to live in your identity or not and it's it's very sad where it says you have the ability to say I prefer darkness and the Lord says I don't condemn anyone but you have to say yes you have to thirst for me just like in the book of the prophet Isaiah whoever who whoever thirsts come to the water but if you're not thirsting you don't really desire to come and you just stay where you are so let's ask the Lord that we develop through the holy spirit this thirst to come and bathe in the Light of Christ so that he might realign our identity to really live out our embodied existence Sons and Daughters of the father that we might be able to see through his eyes the love of the father shining his light upon us just as he perfectly shined upon Christ the very light of the world and that in his light we might see light itself and now let us stand and bring our petitions before the Lord who is rich in goodness and mercy for all in the church who feel called to a religious or Priestly vocation May the Holy Spirit give them courage in responding let us pray to the Lord Lord here our prayer for government leaders may the Lord guide them in enacting policies that affirm the Dignity of all life let us pray to the Lord Lord here our pray for Christians persecuted for their faith May the love of Jesus give them fortitude and wisdom in their time of great need let us pray to the Lord Lord here our pray for our families and loved ones in this community may the Holy Spirit be our guide in every thought word and deed let us pray to the Lord Lord Lord here our pray for those who have died May they come to experience the joys of God's Heavenly Kingdom with all the angels and Saints let us pray to the Lord Lord here our pray for all the members of The Association of Mary and helpers in the confraternity of the Immaculate Conception both living and deceased and for all the intentions they have entrusted to us as well as all those who call or write to us may the the Lord favorably hear their prayers and strengthen them in faith hope and love let us pray to the Lord Lord here our prayer let's pray that through the grace of the holy spirit that the gift of this prophetic calling might shine forth within our hearts particularly that we accept the gift and Treasure of our bodies that we live out our masculinity or our femininity in in the Light of Christ in the truth of our existence let us pray to the Lord Lord here our pray let's pray also for all of those that are experiencing confusion in this day and age especially with their masculinity their femininity help them to receive healing and that they might be able to fully accept the gift of their body given to them by the Lord let us pray to the Lord Lord here our pray Heavenly Father we ask all of this through Christ Our Lord amen [Music] blessed are you God all creation [Music] the [Music] morning be for my me from [Music] pray Brethren that my sacrifice and yours may be acceptable to God the almighty father may the Lord accept his sacrifice at your hands for the praise and glory of his name for our good and the good of all his holy church oh God who by the wonderful exchange affected in this sacrifice have made us partakers of the one supreme godhead Grant we pray that as we have come to know your truth we may make it ours by a worthy way of life through Christ Our Lord aen the Lord be with you and with your spirit lift up your hearts we lift them up to the Lord let us give thanks to the Lord Our God it is right and just it is truly right and just our duty and our Salvation at all times to Acclaim you oh Lord but in this time above all to L you yet more gloriously when Christ Our Passover has been sacrificed for with the old order destroyed the universe cast down is renewed and integrity of life is restored to us in Christ therefore overcome with Pascal joy every land every people exalts in your praise and even the Heavenly Powers with the Angelic host sing together the unending Hymn of your glory as they Acclaim holy holy holyy Lord God of host Heaven and Earth are Fall Of Your Glory hosana hosana in the highest blessed is he who comes in the name of the lordana hosana in the high [Music] you are indeed holy O Lord the Fountain of all Holiness make holy therefore these gifts we pray by sending down your spirit upon them like the dwall so that they may become for us the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ at the time he was betrayed and entered willingly into his passion he took bread and giving thanks broke it and gave it to his disciples saying take this all of you and eat of it for this is my body which will be given up for you [Music] in a similar way when supper was ended he took the chalice and once more giving thanks he gave it to his disciples saying take this all of you and drink from it for this is the Chalice of my blood the blood of the new and eternal Covenant which will be poured out for you and for many for the Forgiveness of sins do this in memory of me the mystery of faith when we eat this bread and drink this cup we Proclaim your death oh Lord [Music] until you come [Music] again therefore as we celebrate the memorial of his death and Resurrection we offer you Lord the bread of life and the Chalice of Salvation giving thanks that you have held us worthy to be in your presence and minister to you humbly we pray that partaking of the body and blood of Christ we may be gathered into one by the Holy Spirit remember Lord your church spread throughout the world and bring her to the fullness of Charity together with Francis our Pope and William our Bishop and all the clergy remember also our brothers and sisters who have fallen asleep in the hope of the resurrection and all who have died in your mercy welcome them into the light of your face have mercy on us all we pray that with the Blessed Virgin Mary Mother of God with blessed Joseph her spouse with the Blessed Apostles and all the saints who have pleased you throughout the ages we may Merit to be coars to eternal life and may praise and glorify you through your son Jesus Christ through him and with him and in him oh God Almighty father in the unity of the holy spirit all glory and honor is yours forever and [Music] Heaven amen [Music] amen at the savior's command and formed by Divine teaching we dare to say Our Father who art in heaven be thy name thy kingdom come thy will be done on Earth as it is in heaven give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us and lead us not into temptation but Deliver Us from Evil Deliver Us Lord we pray from every evil graciously Grant peace in our days that by the help of your mercy we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress as we await the Blessed hope and the coming of Our Savior Jesus Christ for the kingdom the power and the glory are yours now and forever Lord Jesus Christ who said to your Apostles peace I leave you my peace I give you look not on our sins but on the faith of your church and graciously Grant her peace and unity in accordance with your will will who live and Reign forever and ever amen the Peace of the Lord be with you always and with your spirit let us offer each other 1075 of St fasa's diary our Lord says Souls who spread the honor of my Mercy I Shield through their entire lives as a tender mother her infant and at the hour of death I will not be a judge for them but the Merciful Savior at that last hour a soul has nothing with which to defend itself except my Mercy happy is the soul that during its lifetime immersed itself in the fountain of my Mercy because Justice will have no hold on it let us pray graciously be present to your people we pray O Lord Lord and Lead those you have imbued with Heavenly Mysteries to pass from former ways to newness of life through Christ Our Lord [Music] amen the Lord be with you and with your spirit May almighty God bless you the father and the son and the holy spirit amen go and announce the gospel of the Lord thanks
