who was ioso really beneath the idol what kind of person was she what were her own thoughts and feelings did I ever want to love at all who was the true ioso hidden behind the fake smile of the one in a million Idol well the answer is much simpler than you think ioso is one of the greatest mysteries in Oceano and through countless hours of studying her as well as getting some major breakthroughs in recent manga chapters has the mystery the puzzle that is I hoso finally been solved now I think it goes without saying but there will be spoilers here as I will be talking about big plot points in the anime and talking about the manga up to recent chapters which is 138 at the time of this video is making so we met ioso at the very beginning of Oceano and we just like all of her fans in the story fell completely in love with her she was nothing short of a phenomenon in both worlds and she was absolutely everywhere ihos was a global star and we were all completely drawn into the idol and that was our first mistake I was extremely bubbly and she carried an infectious smile that we craved more of she had this very unique Charisma and charm that Drew you in in an instant she was beautiful she acted on impulse and she had a cute and clumsy nature to her that made her a character you couldn't help but love now as viewers we got to see I's life and secret behind closed doors her Secret at this point being her twinss Ruby and aqua we followed the last years of her life play out and the tragedy that befell her but were we Gob smacked and mourning the real eye or were we suffering the loss of the idol the version of eye that we had created we already knew that there was more to ey than just the idol we knew there were hardships she had faced and continued to do so but we really could only speculate based on what we had seen we know the big words surrounding I were love and and lies I was orphaned at a young age her mother was arrested on a theft charge and even after her release she didn't go back for her all her life I didn't have a single memory of being loved or having felt love for another it wasn't until she met Ichigo that her perspective on the matter changed she convinced herself that lies are a form of love and that she will continue to tell that lie until it became truth until she finally found that object or someone whom she truly felt loved for these deceitful Pretty Lies were her coping mechanism it was her way of living and these falsehoods helped her to process the world spinning around her and the fault of failing to see who the true ioso was was partly I her because of this mindset I never attempted to put things right or to show her true feelings to the point that she was willing to accept the repercussions of her actions and behaviors with a simple smile she would simply play off what had happened and accept the blame to keep that person happy her way of expressing love was via lies which she of course hoped one day would become the truth so her feelings now her true feelings would never surface why would she let it she'd never find out what true love was that way but was this need to find out what love was truly ever what I wanted was it something she ever really cared about before meeting with Ichigo I've had the thought that she was conflicted you know she may never have wanted to love in the first place at all now we don't know a lot about I's life before that conversation with icho however we got some more information on her past in chapter 131 of the manga in the previous chapter we see that I had left a DVD to both aqua and to Ruby revealing the details of their father as well as a suspicious request of them now we still haven't had the full contents of the DVD but chapter 131 reveals that I got tired of her situation at the orphanage and left to start a new life life in Tokyo we don't know exactly what her plans were but she was confident in her own looks and charms to get by next is when we see her bump into icho so nothing major in understanding her character here but later in the chapter Aqua meets I's mother and she drops some Gob smacking information we find out that her mother had actually always wanted to go back and pick her up from the orphanage but could never face her the reason I was in the orphanage and why her mother was arrested was all because of the guy her mother was dating now I was only eight or nine at the time but had matured quickly despite her age she matured enough that this scumbag that her mother was with was making eyes at her now we don't know how long this had gone on for and how much I was aware of but this caused the family to fall apart so going off of pure speculation whatever went on between this guy and I and how she perceived the relationship her mother had with him this could have influenced I that if this is what love is then you know I don't want anything to do with that however at the same time love is a natural and very confusing feeling I feel that I was definitely conflicted over wanting to know what love was the only feeling she had experienced with love before she met with eacho was a negative one so was there more to it than this why if love is so negative do I crave it now the others at fault for us never seeing who the true ey was beneath the lies were the people around her how however recently it's through them that we do get the simple picture recent events in the manga are all around the making of Aqua movie 15-year lie which is about ihos no's life and ultimately aqua's attempt at avenging her ihos no once requested taii gotanda to do a documentary on Bachi he grudgingly agreed to the request and began shooting the film however he also wanted to shoot the real eye the real eye who was not cloaked in the deceit and pretty lies to which she agreed and now it was going well and all that was left was to shoot Bach's live act at the Dome when that incident occurred yeah I was murdered and the project was cancelled years later after revealing I secret about himself and Ruby to the world Aqua decides that this is the ideal time to resume and remake this project with Ganda and it's through this Arc that we have seen Peaks into just who I really was I is being portrayed by Ruby Ruby is is of course struggling to understand what I's true emotions really were as well as having to act for the first time with such a huge role we see big developments in the recent chapters in a huge scene involving Kaa who is playing one of I's former bandmates Nino Nino breaks and tells I that she wishes she'd die all while a similar situation was actually happening IRL between Ruby and Cara themselves in this scene Ruby portrays IE exactly as we know of her as she brushes it off she smiles she lies but at the end of the scene Ruby adds something that wasn't a part of the script she erupts throwing a glass against the door in a fit of rage and says I hate everyone screw them all what did I do wrong anyway was this how I really would have reacted well based on our image of her no but this performance opens up our eyes to the fact that her image wouldn't have reacted this way but I hos know the person would have for sure chapter 137 gives us clear indications of how I is perceived by others and how we ourselves have been looking at I the wrong way some of the crew say that Ruby's performance here destroys I's image of being the strongest and perfect and that's the key word image I was actually only the way we perceive her now because of how she was shaped by people around her she was no longer seen as a human being with a genuine H sentiments rather she had become an image on which others would project all of their unpleasant and very greedy impulses they regarded I as an indestructible entity with no feelings of her own she would not be wounded no matter what they said or did to her since she was such a powerful and Flawless person people would exploit her to fulfill their own desires whether for greed or to express their terrible feelings and tragedy she did not respond she merely smiled to indicate that everything was well bottom line ioso was whatever the person wanted her to be now I said earlier that I was partly to blame for us not being able to see the true her and I stand by that but this chapter really does shift our Focus away from that and demonstrates that I was this way because she was shaped by those around her the individual the actual ioso was always overlooked since people only cared about and desired the idol be it to gain from her or to use as an image to throw their own emotions at and it was very poor guidance that locked the true eye away in reality Who was the the real ihos no well Ganda says it best in this very chapter quoting ganda's words here he says ihos no was just a normal girl you could find anywhere she couldn't love or trust people she was timid and sensitive and she would get hurt when she fell out with her friends she was just an ordinary girl I hos no lied to conceal her weaknesses from the world she always smiled and she never showed any negative emotions I was beautiful neat and pure that she loved everyone deeply regardless of their character and that she would never betray them he even describes her as a pet that everyone loves his final words were powerful he says I was turned into an idol by beings that seem to contain the ugly desires of such people so who is ioso really well she is just like you and me someone who has their own hardships just trying to figure out the world she is no different from all of us she has her own heart and her own feelings the the only difference is that she was turned into a symbol that others didn't treat as a real person now all of this is of course based on information we have so far and there is certainly a lot more to her character she's a complex mystery and we're yet to see what part even Hikaru played in her past we know that people saw a big change in ey after she met him so you know what did he do and what influence did he have on her only time will tell but the bottom line is that the real IH hoso is just an ordinary girl unique yes but aren't
