We Test Buy a $200 eBay Pokemon Card Mystery Box

hey what's up everybody Jake here and welcome to the Hobby if you've been collecting Pokemon cards for a while you might notice that there are a ton of mystery products related to Pokemon cards some are very nicely branded and some are even tied to content creators where they have really cool looking mystery boxes or mystery grab bags for you and on eBay it's the most common place to pick these up on eBay you can find over a thousand listings for different Pokemon card mystery boxes and mystery grab bags and these can be really dubious in terms of the kind of value that you can expect from them but every now and again I do find myself drawn to something sort of like this so hopefully we get something really good in today's video so we have a $22 Pokemon card mystery box that I purchased from eBay and I'm going to show you the listing that I picked it up from I am not tied to this seller or affiliated with them in any way and I do not recommend you purchase a mystery box from this seller I am doing this from my own accord and they do not know that I am doing a video on it or who I am when I made this purchase so this is going to be as clean of an pack opening experience of a mystery box as I could get their official description says that they are a veteran-owned business this amazing Pokemon mystery box is perfect addition to any Pokemon Trading Card Game Collection our mystery boxes are guaranteed value possibilities inside of each Mystery Box includes official Pokemon TCG packs official Pokemon TCG sealed product singular cars varying from 1999 to 2022 sorry 2023 guaranteed so I would like to see how true that is very first thing I see is a Professor Juniper M carton box the premium tournament collection box this thing comes with seven Pokemon card booster packs a Professor Juniper promo card I believe a deck box as well as sleeves in terms of value I'm not sure where I would really put this I think it retails for maybe even upwards of 50 bucks I'm not sure but I'm going to Value this probably around $40 that's probably close to how much value it is um first impression of the box it is very heavy so I was really worried we were just going to get like two mystery boxes but it looks like there's some other stuff inside here we got ourselves a Twilight masquerade booster box I'm pretty sure we get a guaranteed Greninja inside of this bad boy the Greninja sir would be really really cool the value of a Twilight masquerade uh booster box is probably around $110 right now I think it would be dis genous of us if we uh value this at full MSRP I think full MSRP is like 160 bucks realistically this is $110 uh booster box let's see what else do we have inside here got some loose booster packs I saw those pretty early on we got poan Fates so it definitely contains Pokemon cards from well past 2022 they must have not update their item description in quite a while we got three palan Fates booster packs I think you can value these at $5 a pack but I'm just be conservative I'm going to say they're 12 bucks let's say these are $12 for all three booster packs I think that is super duper Fair let's see what else we got here we got a stack of mystery Pokemon cards so I'm going to well actually we got one card that we can see in the front we got a Charizard GX I've never seen Pokemon cards rubber band like this this can't possibly be good for the cars we got a Charizard GX on the front um we'll check these out soon let's see what cards we have inside of this little rubber band stack we might have something really good who really knows and we also have ourselves a ooh this one's actually really nice we got ourselves a lost origin build and battle Stadium box this is actually really nice it comes with two um build and battle boxes and these contain four booster packs of lost origin each as well as four loose booster packs lost origin so you get yourself 12 lost origin booster pack I think this thing retails for $60 at at their cheapest point I think this thing was going for like $35 but I do think this goes for $60 now so yeah really really solid that's everything that we had inside of this mystery box so let's look it up really quickly we got ourselves the buildin battle box this is probably going for $60 uh the Professor Juniper I said was probably 40 bucks so this is 100 bucks right there the Twilight masquerade box is probably 110 I think that's about right I don't want to go lower than that it's probably right that this thing is 110 so we're at 210 already we have three paldan Fates booster packs so this is $12 it's decent worst case scenario they could have sent me two Pokemon booster box but that's just super duper lame if that's what they want to do but I think the real mystery is going to be what's inside of all these top loaded cards so let's check that out I think we've already made back our $200 worth of value I think calculating this at 60 bucks is really just being generous um I picked these up for as low as 35 bucks so realistically we probably just add break even so it's going to really come down to these topl loaded cars maybe we have oursel I don't know a b at Charizard in here wouldn't that be crazy um I have my hope so let's see what we got we definitely saw the Charizard GX on the front I don't think this is a super expensive card it is from hidden Fates this is an actual card from hidden Fates there's a couple promo Charizard GX but I think this is the actual one that you pull from hidden Fates so I think it's probably maybe A2 or $3 card I can price check on TCG player but it can't possibly be that expensive it is Charizard so I'm sure it's more expensive than your normal GX card this will definitely make a kid day they'll just be happy to have it inside of this Mystery Box we got ourselves a cinder Ace V from one of the uh special holiday set I'm not sure which one came out in 2021 so probably the one right after hidden Fates maybe like shining Fates but Cinder a V all right probably much cheaper than the Charizard GX we saw before this one I think came out in let's see 20 19 so yeah it's been quite a while but hidden Fates we got Cinder Ace V oh that's not too bad we got ourselves the Charizard V Star this would definitely make some kid really happy to see this inside of their Mystery Box Charizard V Star I think this is actually a kind of expensive card not super expensive but a decent value card this is exactly what we're looking for if all the other cards inside of this little stack is you know at the same level of Rarity as this card I think that's absolutely perfect I think this is like A10 to $20 card it's really hard to say with how the Charizard Ultra premium collection is currently going but I'm very happy about that we got ourselves a gorean slow bro V so that's not super cool not bad but not super cool we got a VC card oh my goodness that's not bad that's not bad at all we got ourselves a shiny charmander yes that is a shiny charmander so yeah this is really cool I I dig that that is not bad at all so another really really cool card now this will really make a kid happy if you were a kid and you open up this Mystery Box I think you would be very happy with the results from um these topl loaded cards I think this is not bad okay we got final card final card and it's a Full Art card oh we got ourselves a Full Art Hop that's kind of a weak full art trainer but you know can't really complain I think we're well over breaking even with this mystery box so there you guys go this is sort of what you can expect from a Pokémon Card Mystery Box these mystery boxes can really really vary I picked this Mystery Box specifically because I thought it' be very cool to have some nice variety products inside of it and it it said value was guarantee and definitely I'm not allowed to return so that really brought my uh self-esteem up and making sure that this box was probably going to be really really nice now we did break even with it but it was very close this was probably you know I'm not going to complain this is exactly what you're looking for a m from a mystery box but realistically yes this is worth 200 bucks was it stuff that I probably would have bought for $200 realistically it's not bad honestly if you had this all on a table and had to sign 200 on it you might have been able to sell it as it whoa what the oh my God Charizard EX from the palan face booster pack inside of a mystery box guys I I I'm trying to be mean to this mystery box but I can't how can you be mean pan Fates wow the Charizard EX check check that out it's pretty blingy a Charizard EX are you kidding me a shiny Charizard EX from a mystery box at least we know they don't weigh these booster packs that is pretty cool that's kind of cool all right we can't complain about thato that is a really nice card we're not adding this card to the value of the mystery box because obviously you can't add the value of the pack open opening to the mystery box but that is really cool I'm trying to be really critical of this mystery box but I did pick it because I thought it was good value you know I did pick this specific Mystery Box because I thought it was good value now I'm going to explain some mystery boxes that I would absolutely avoid I would avoid any mystery boxes that looks like it's trying to offload a lot of bulk to you if a mystery box is trying to say you are guaranteed to get hundreds of Pokemon cards they are most likely offloading a lot of bulk to you so don't try to pick those up and we got ourselves a shiny Alakazam ex this is very very good pan face is a good set in general though but wow really really nice two hits watch we're going to get ourselves uh another Charizard exx from this last booster pack but definitely be careful on the mystery boxes that you pick if you pick one and you don't think that it's going to be good B value definitely don't try to grab it don't pick any mystery boxes that has a lottery system where they say one in five mystery box gets a guaranteed vintage booster pack or something of that nature there are some that absolutely do guarantee that like Pokey rev and I think his is absolutely reputable the other ones especially the ones on eBay they can skirt the line they can give you nothing good because they don't expect you to ever be a repeat customer and if you do if you do pick up a mystery box try try to find one from a seller with a lot of ratings the more ratings they have the more reviews they have the more reputable they're likely to be there are some really good mom and pop shops out there that do give good value so if you must buy a mystery box pick one from a truly reputable seller because there are some that are trying to put decent value inside of their product and this one is very decent I can't complain if I had to give this Mystery Box a rating of probably be like 4 and a half star or five stars out of five I think this is really solid it's exactly what you can expect from a mystery box if they threw in any more value is just absolute BS because this is just really the best case scenario we pulled an amazing card from our Mystery Box this Mystery Box would make a a kid stream this is like the perfect $200 mystery box so yeah I'm trying to critique them but it really doesn't get any better than this so definitely be aware that if you are going to pick up Mystery Box put some thought into to it and there are some decent ones but I can't really recommend you going for this route we are doing this
