I found a hotel that's located in a car so what that's so cool I'm just a casual night farmer just that so many of you guys have recommended we come to this town on our way back to Bratislava and I'm so glad you did it is such a cute town hey guys and welcome back to Slovakia this is our last video here on this amazing road trip and we've just left the high tuchis mountains if you haven't been we highly recommend it but today we have another full day of exploring before we head off we actually want to show you where we have driven so far this country is quite small we've never driven more than an hour an hour and a half to each place that we've been to see rumors made our way from the West in Bratislava up to the north and the high Tatra sand I were just kind of doing a loop to make our way back to the city [Music] when you hop out of the car and this is your view so you just come out to our first spot it's called speech castle and wow I know we visited a few castles on this trip already but each one seems to be so unique this one was built in the 12th century so it's a medieval castle and it's in ruins they're currently renovating it so more people can come and see it but it's just in such a beautiful vantage point it's right on top of the hill and you can really see why the king would have picked to come and build this castle here we can see for miles around and even just the walk up here was quite a bit of a workout but it's really cool to come out here and just see how the Slovakian castles were built and designed and then walking up to the top of the keep here at the castle well you won't want to be claustrophobic if you lived lived in the medieval times just made it to the top of the key and this is what I'm talking about 360-degree panoramic views all around you can just see the countryside you can really see the castle you can see all the work they're currently doing on earth but how beautiful is the Slovakian countryside also this castle is massive as you can see this is like the main building that's still here and then it goes into an outside courtyard and then it goes into a further courtyard over there as well it's this is huge my safety you are my call we have so all right see you later mountains all right just come to our next stop and it is quite hot today but we're going to need to rug up because this region is actually known for ice caves so these caves are covered in ice all year round and I was having a google and I found out that they're around zero degrees so that's cold and all we have really up hoodies and pads so we're gonna go and explore an ice cave hopefully it's not too cold but I've never done this before so we're very very excited it's kind of cool though that it's you know 30 degrees today but you can go inside and I cave and it is zero degrees in the middle of summer I'm getting that you just opened up the freezer section to get a pizza at your local shop that's what I'm feeling literally through that door that we walked into here it's a completely different climate it says 8 euros each to come in which is pretty much been the entrance fees for all the castles in all the places that we have visited so far and this is the only place we've been to where it's about 10 euros if you wanted to take any photos of film I see I've already really just stepped in yeah it kind of looks like piles of salt like the way that it the coloring of cold [Music] this is better than I was expecting [Music] we were just learning that over a hundred years ago people used to ice skate on this ice 40 meters below the ground cameras a bit foggy is it hey guys flurry that [Music] I wasn't sure what to expect when we came there because when I was googling I only saw one photo of ice inside a keg was kind of grainy and I wasn't sure what this was gonna be it was amazing the cave is huge there is so much ice and they were telling us that it has been forming for the last 5000 years because a lot of the cave exits are actually blocked up which means that in the wintertime when it gets really cold that cold air can get stuck in there and it kind of circulates in there and keeps everything cold so in the summer time when all the snow melts and it drips inside the cave because the cave is so cold it freezes so every year it just gets more and more ice as more and more water gets stripped inside but nature is not evil nature's very cool back in the car next stop is where we're staying oh yeah I haven't told you it is for it's a cool one okay see we're rocking up now we are staying you can't really see cuz it's behind those trees but we're gonna be staying in a castle a castle yes I found a hotel I found a hotel that's located in a castle that's so cool alright here we are this is so cool it was so hidden away and I we kind of got lost spot Wow the reception through the ground enjoy this I think Ashley would enjoy this I'm just a casual night of armor just that this has got to be the most epic entrance to a hotel room ever the red carpet is out wow it's a flood four-poster bed very evil style this room is massive by the way oh wow the views are actually really nice from our bedroom just dunk it over the four poster bed Wow it's me Steven nice every place we stayed up has left us fruit but this one's gone above and beyond left us some Prosecco [Music] the storm [Music] for [Music] totally the work on some of these doors have done such a good job and restoring this place I just want to quickly show you guys this in 2009 this hotel or this castle was ruined similar to the ruins that we visited today that's what it looked like then it took them till 2013 so four years for them to turn it into this they've done an incredible job I'm sure they've spent millions renovating this yes on the way they've done the walls too even the chairs we're sitting at the moment they're these gigantic wooden chairs you would expect in the medieval times someone had to dinner so just come up to the top of the castle to watch the sunset and you can see the courtyard just here I think we're just staying up there dinner was just there which was lovely nice way to end the night chess has found a wishing well wait what am I wishing for what if we wish for separate things I'm gonna wish for more chocolate mud cake alright [Music] [Music] I know I'm cheap but I'm sold to whatever you're selling I guess you choose feet old chieftain not fair even morning guys welcome back to our final day here in Slovakia pretty much we're just making our way back to Bratislava but last night really enjoyed staying in the castle first time we've ever stayed in a medieval castle before it's a really good half point if you do go out to the high Tatra mountains and then you want to head back to the city but we do have one more spot we want to show you before we end the Slovakia series so many of you guys have recommended we come to this town on our way back to Bratislava and I'm so glad you did it is such a cute town and it's actually built inside an extinct volcano and when the volcano erupted for the last time it brought up all these minerals including silver to the surface so this town is actually known as the silver town and they used to do a lot of mining here [Music] actually a mine shaft that still open it 75 meters long gonna walk through it now feel let's get ready I don't like small spaces oh they still like the traps on the floor I kind of feel like we're you know snow why oh is it just thinking that movie set pops is a bat it's like still mining cars in here and everything this is the best 50 Cent's we've spent so far so if now come up to the knocking tower and back in the day people would come and knock on a block of wood here and that would signal the beginning of work for the miners but they've now turned into a teahouse you can come here and get hundreds of flavours of Tears we've got four cold tea it's called the thirsty Buddha it's a ginger tea kind of looks like we having a frothy beer what's it like smells very gingery oh that's good you can never have enough ginger it's good you're not too strong it's a day later and I forgot to end the vlog we're in Germany at the moment we just wanted to say thanks so much to everyone for watching our Slovakian series it seriously blew our mind how just unique it is and if you haven't been put it on your bucket list because we had so much fun Jess will put together little blog post of our entire road trip so you can just copy it go to the places stay where we stayed visit the castles we visited Lincoln below to our blog but thanks so much for watching guys if you guys are new around here please hit subscribe because um yeah do you want a little Germany series let's see you guys next time wow I can't connect
