here i am knocking out my own door again hello i've been trying to reach you about your car's extended warranty hello i heard a youtuber lives here hey guys today we're going to be walking around our home in florida we moved in we unpacked all of our boxes and since we've been traveling full-time for about five years we don't own almost anything stay tuned for what we choose [Music] playing out a space mountain furniture is pretty hard because in an empty room things can look bigger but all of a sudden with some furniture pieces in here it will end up being real small real quick it's really easy to buy a nice looking couch they're all over the internet but the whole point of it when we come back here from traveling is like relax enjoy and man just wherever you go there's never a cozy sofa or a couch so when we come home i'd like to just you know be able to sit here on a comfy couch and uh enjoy it instead of being like man this sure is uncomfortable but stylish okay it's the moment of truth we're going with kind of like a pepper color right you're kind of like the same color as the floor shoot maybe that does look kind of yellow [Music] yeah right it's so off white that looks really yellow okay next color yeah that's terrible so maybe we just want white then [Applause] all right we have tv the year 2007. a young tim deemer buys his first 42-inch flat screen tv at best buy for a total of 1200 to coincide with the launch of halo 3 on xbox 360. the year 2020 buying his second tv ever in his life an older tim deemer decides to go much bigger we're rocking an 82 inch finally we don't even watch that much tv but when it's time to watch gladiator i want to see russell crowe [Music] today is finally the day no more blue no more yellow and no more green i'm removing the state of the art motion sensor security system [Music] parting is such sweet sorrow but it is time i didn't think valences were going to be as big a part of my life as they turned out to be but between the rv and this place lots of balances for the past 20 years these valences have contributed so much to the interior decor of this home and now they will no longer be doing that job in our home they've been called vanguards of the doorway centuries of the entryway and now it's [Music] time [Music] literally if we only did that it would be fine it really brings out the yellow of the drapes [Music] so [Music] [Music] [Music] want to watch a movie oh yeah [Applause] [Music] we love it 10 out of 10. this light fixture is part of the early 2000s design that came with the house it doesn't exactly go with the aesthetic we're going for here so i present to you this light fixture now if you're in the market for something like this yourself this is part of a very exclusive collection called my little sister's ex-boyfriend collection and it's exclusively available in our family attic other pieces include broken snowmobile shroud and four extra tires for a jacked up pickup truck so not exactly what you may be looking for but the price was right what we're installing has one of these this one does not as you can see so we're going to take some parts of this like this base plate paint it up all pretty that's a diy project people love diy uh wired in and hopefully not shock myself should be actually kind of easy [Music] so let me flip the breaker oh it already was on it wasn't it wasn't off oh oh it's pretty so bright thanks jenna's ex-boyfriend the living room has come a really long way mostly due to the fact that there were so many paint colors in one room painting all of this white put the correct shade of white which was very difficult on top of the blue the multi-tone yellows and then over in the dining room of greens there was just a lot going on so we're so excited to just have a neutral vibe in here well we certainly come a long way it's kind of like vulnerable or nerve-wracking to put your house now on the internet we have no problem making youtube videos in the travel space but this is kind of welcome to our home uh we're not interior designers or anything but i think we've done a good job cultivating a very tulum vibe in here if you haven't seen our house before then you should definitely go back to last year where we published a couple videos in home cation because we did a house hunters parody video of the process of purchasing this house sight unseen during the pandemic of course i feel like there's a lot of things that aren't done yet there's a lot of things that aren't hung up on walls or things that haven't been painted but because it has been one year now since we purchased the house and then stay tuned to the very end of the video because literally within the hour of filming this we're leaving on a very very big trip and we're gonna take you a little bit of the way there so welcome to our home [Music] [Music] here and then the access out to the pool area is phenomenal with all of these doors the pocket doors opening all the way open we leave these curtains up for a little extra privacy and despite being in a neighborhood we've got great privacy with plants and a nice little hangout spot out here [Music] it's incredibly common in this area of florida to have this screen over your entire pool if you've never seen that before it's called a lanai i've never seen anyone in this area without one and it's just to help keep bugs and i don't know alligators out of the pool [Music] [Music] back into the front of the house is our dining space which you might notice has a motorcycle in it that's not typically there we are heading out on a trip and that's tim's little safe spot for the tryout [Music] i posted this lamp on instagram and somebody said that it looks like those chicken cages in the philippines indonesia yes absolutely it is from crate and barrel but 100 that's what it looks like and now i can't unsee that and we printed out some drone pictures from puerto escondido mexico and most of our furniture pieces are from either west elm or crate and barrel i didn't want this to sound like an advertisement so i wasn't like pointing out where every piece of furniture from and this piece of furniture is the only thing that we had a year ago when we moved into this house because we have just been digital nomads and didn't own furniture but we did have that table and these chairs most importantly in the dining room is pepper's bed that sits in this entire doghouse and she looks at the front window [Music] so [Music] one of the hardest challenges we're having with furniture right now is likely due to the pandemic furniture is so back ordered and it takes so long for anything to get here it takes a long time to shop because we don't own any furniture and you have to like do the whole room together to get it all the match find the right dimensions then we finally find the right thing and then it says you know wait two months to get it so today's piece of furniture let's see what bar stools we got for the counter the assembly instructions are put it together let's put it together [Music] okay what do you think tim that took me hours to assemble there are loads of parts involved i'm not gonna lie and this is not coming from a place of negativity from the time it took you to put one chair together i've emptied out my room so we can start flooring it and i did that whole lighting fixture you know is this a competition oh but it's a very uh amish approach to furniture oh well it's pretty tight for this and i like it do you like the oh it looks nice is that real feather real pleather yeah no cows were hurt in the making of that vegan leather another piece of furniture that's here check three more [Music] we haven't done much in the kitchen and bar area apart from not make that green or this bar green anymore but we're thinking maybe painting this a matte black or tile it in some way and the subway tile behind the kitchen cabinets definitely needs to go and probably thinking some new hardware but we got pretty lucky with wood cabinets that match the rest of our design aesthetic this is our favorite part of the kitchen we have a coffee bar essentially but neither of us really drink coffee so it's really our smoothie station this is our gorgeous bar and if you ever come over we would be happy to host you [Music] [Applause] it's time for the easy part one way or another all this blue carpeting has to come out of here [Music] until you came here [Music] yeah well i finished my piles and i have more to say so i thought you'd be interested come closer please um in learning about all the different planks that you're going to be using so we have the well let's start over here this is the freckle or the mold that was easily identifiable this is the one with the double eyes this is the sound wavelength and this one doesn't have a cute name it just has the dark line in the middle those are all organized now for you tim i'm enjoying working on the house by the way these multi-tools did these just get invented or something this makes it so easy to scrape anything off the ground where have these been all my life look at this it's the last piece of the puzzle how satisfying is this this is always like the best part of the show one of the things we love most about the house is the split floor plan and so into this hallway here we have both of our offices and our second bathroom this is nice because it's completely on the other side of the house from our bedroom and so while we're here doing work don't worry it's not going to be a surprise tim scare welcome to the trip travel gear headquarters it all happens right here here show everybody your brush good okay and go brush if you're new here we're full-time travelers who bought a house in florida during the pandemic i used to think that youtubers who would film out of their house headed a little bit easier than us on the road who are constantly holding the camera outside in public in front of other people but boy was i wrong this is just as challenging if not more to both do a house renovation and film it at the same time but in this week's episode of home cation we attempt to flip this room into both my office and our guest room stay tuned [Music] most of these boxes are all church packing cubes we had a problem with one order and we well now i'm a little curious [Music] all right pretty close now for demo this room has officially made me hate the color blue blue carpet blue walls and a thick blue curtain [Music] wait what in the heck are people with glasses doing during corona oh my gosh it fogs it up immediately oh that's terrible oh so sorry you guys wow in the course of doing this huge flooring and trim project we have kind of destroyed the garage for now this is all the garbage that we're holding on to till garbage day and finney doesn't know this but when i walked out here earlier today there was a little black tail that scurried into the garbage pile it probably belongs to a friendly neighborhood snake she doesn't need to know he's in here he doesn't need her to know he's in here and i'm sure when garbage day comes he will find his way back into the wild but for now we have an extra guest at the house all right just like that that was the last row in finney's office if you're ever installing this on camera definitely pre-cut everything for the last row because it really makes it look like you know what you've been doing the whole time see how fast that happened into oh my goodness the journey that it took to get to this guest bedroom [Music] did you go play with daddy and that's so cute that's hand written by one of my bridesmaids for my bachelorette party so cool and something hung above the bed here will finish this room out super nicely it just it just smells so good in here and it's bright and access to the pool and i just love this space and then this is where i do my work it can be a bedroom now because i finished filming all of the courses for fba edu so this was all disheveled in a film studio all during the year but now it's a nice guest room and my most recent accomplishment i'm so proud of is the before and after of this bathroom what i like about this room is i feel like they've used a different hue of blue for the base here and a brighter yellow than the mustard in the living space here so they've really grasped the depth of both of those colors surprise they built the shelfing unit right on top of the carpet i was expecting like i was expecting the carpet tack boards or whatever but no no the shelf's just right on top of it look how hot and humid it is the door is not dirty it's just wet and he's got this whole system for all the things and then where i got the dust blocked off doing great tim [Applause] here [Music] oh my gosh it looks so much bigger in here already so much love that thing is huge oh it's already better even with the yellowed white yellow paint i mean look how much this is i know that's like larger than a headboard it's like having a whole additional piece of furniture in here [Music] welcome to the master suite where you can really see how much work has gone into this house specifically with the floors thank you on instagram for helping us decide between floor choices and you can see tim has done such a good job installing the floors and we just need to put in trim and then paint the hallway but it'd be fun to have something nice here to then enter into our room [Music] this is probably the best part in the entire house pepper i'm here you show everybody you're bad where's your bed you need some water okay oh well there's a butt okay we just played frisbee okay good girl so that's peppery's little boho chic moment in the bedroom and what i think is gonna happen right over here above the bed is we hate this window and that's someone else's house right there and it's it's just awkward so this painting eventually can go over here we need some like so and then we'll finish out our nice bedroom this has come so far so far from the blue carpet the blue valances with the sailboats the blue shutter shade thing coming across ah nice nice nice we haven't done anything yet to our awesome 80s cocaine bathroom with the exception of the bidet that tim installed which you can enjoy that story now true story i used to be a plumber look see that yeah see this you can call that number you can talk to my mom or dad another true story a lot of people travel the world discover religion find meaning in life me i went out there and discovered the beauty of having a bidet so when it came time for home cation and building our dream home a bidet was always going to be part of that for me [Music] to anybody at home who says gross bidet i don't care about water splashing your butt i say gross you don't have water splashes on seriously if you got poo on your arm you won't just wipe it off with paper and call it good right wash it off so that's what we're gonna do moment of truth okay that's on thanks feeling gentle now gentle [Music] [Music] let's see how much cleansing power this
