WE GOT MARRIED! (DIY wedding vlog) 🤍

so we just got married so robin and i got engaged in october of last year and we had some time to let that sink in but after a few months we already wanted to kind of get planning our wedding i knew i wanted it to be really intimate and small and we were looking at venues but there was like everything was booked so difficult to find something and then a few months ago a friend of mine called me up she's like i just bought a new place it's on the water hey if you guys want before i move in you guys can actually use it as a place to kind of host your wedding it can be the venue and if you want your friends and family can stay as well there's enough space for everyone it's perfect golden opportunity so of course we said yes and so that meant we had about three months to plan everything we possibly could we got the rings the suit the dress the catering we had put in a whole bunch of rentals for different equipment that we needed we did well like everything we could do from here we did i feel like from the netherlands and then about a week before the wedding we hopped on a plane and flew to canada with your family [Music] we arrived in vancouver and we saw the house for the first time and it was absolutely gorgeous perfect love birds go to the sunsets that way but we wanted to do the ceremony at a different location actually i think a 10-minute drive from the house yeah it's a private dock on the water and it's owned by a family friend who was so gracious to lend it to us it's beautiful right beautiful it's so quiet and oh the air is so fresh but here's the thing so the dock is outside on the water which is beautiful but you're out in nature and there's no shade anywhere so you gotta respect whatever weather is going on in your wedding day it was about six days before the wedding so luckily we could already look up what the predicted weather was going to be on our wedding day and our ceremony was scheduled to be at 5 30 p.m it was way too hot at 5 30 p.m this is really hot i feel like we should do it a little later than this hot yeah so we flipped the script and we put the ceremony at sunset and the reception before that let's just say that this is a lot more stressful than i thought it was going to be i was like oh it's just like throwing a little we've thrown a party for 20 people just double that size it's not a big deal but it is and then with a few days left before the wedding it was just like hammer time we were trying to do as much as we could in those few days and so much do it yourself stuff that's where i think i was a little naive i didn't realize how much work that stuff would be behind the scenes bts of diy wedding stuff it's a lot of work you know what that's pretty cool but it was a lot of fun so we had to figure out table decorations for example we're trying to bring a little bit of the elements into our kind of diy decor some pebbles it needs more moss i like it and then there was also the lighting within the house hanging lights outside which meant you had to go to the home hardware store we went grocery shopping because we were making some of the salads and some of the desserts went to find the floors that could make your bouquet we started to get the dock ready here please don't cook because we have a wedding right now trying out different carpets trying out different locations where we stand where would the the people be seated is it safe even that looks stunning it's a good choice i actually went to my mom's house to her garden i'm planning on stealing some greenery and florals from my mom's house for like the table arrangements and or for as we're walking down the aisle look at this so beautiful [Music] getting my wedding suit fitted by her mother she even got my hair i even cut my own hair this is a little like excessive diy i feel like we could have definitely outsourced some of it and then two days before the wedding a group of our dutch friends came over from the netherlands [Music] what's up what's up what's up we all stayed in that one house on the one roof it was super exotic and then the girls had just a few hours to sleep and then they had to get up the next morning because my sister had planned this like surprise brattle shower for me which was amazing it kind of forced me to slow down because we had been so go go to kind of just like appreciate everything that was going on no way i'm shocked why didn't you just do this she had made this whole high tea setup in this like magical forest it was so original and so cute and then there was only one day left it was the day before the wedding you had to set up everything hello how you doing [Music] [Laughter] energy was so good though everyone was in such high spirits it was a lot of work but it was so much fun so much fun we couldn't have done it without them [Music] it's nice to actually see everything also come together because neither of these places had hosted a wedding before so we didn't know if like how we were setting up like is this going to even look good so it was also your vision that came together like you had all these ideas i also felt like you were a little bit stressed before because you couldn't see things getting ready and then on that last day suddenly the whole space changed into an actual wedding venue that's true and i just saw you get energy from that that's true that's true and then it was the day of our wedding and then and then in the morning there were so few things left to do we were setting up the dessert table for example and the floral arrangements as well we had tried to get a florist to do it but everyone was booked up so we were like you know what we'll do it ourselves and that's something you gotta do the day of so that everything stays fresh and then it was time for us to get ready to start [Music] actually like really nervous oh my heart is racing [Music] i'm really excited i'm so happy [Music] [Music] thinking about weaving through [Music] now i got someone to [Music] [Music] get going yeah i think we're ready [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] cause that man is [Music] cause i love you baby i can't let you go baby [Music] yes i do [Music] cause i love you i love you so [Music] [Applause] [Music] hey okay and then this happened satya arrives at the ceremony and we were supposed to start at that moment everybody's supposed to be in their seats she comes down with her dad we perfectly timed it with the sunset but i arrive and i see that robin is still hanging out by the cars and not down by the dock and i open the door and the first thing he says to me do you have the rings i remember it so well this moment when you're oh my goodness like this is the one thing you don't forget on your wedding day and we were supposed to start right then so my sister comes up and she's like why aren't you guys down there the commissioner's down there don't worry about it like here take my wedding band take my husband's wedding band let's go and rob is like no no i i wanted it to be our ring so he gets in the car and he leaves so i forgot the rings i forgot like the rings didn't make it to the dock we're gonna go get the rings and we need to hurry up because everything was on schedule until this point but we're going to make it we're going to make it so now we wait now we wait what time is it anyway so we're supposed to start 8 10 8 10. so we're supposed to start 10 minutes ago and we're not going to start for like at least another 15-20 minutes so robin arrives with the rings and finally the ceremony can start what's that you're holding there [Music] these are the hands of your best friend which are holding yours as you vow to love each other today tomorrow and forever these are the hands that will countless times wipe the tears from your eyes tears of sorrow and tears of joy these are the hands that even when wrinkled and aged we'll still be reaching for yours [Laughter] these are the hands that have lifted your chin and brushed your cheek as they raised your face to look into eyes that are ever filled with overwhelming love for you do you robin undertake to afford to sadia the love of your person the comfort of your companionship and the patience of your understanding i do do you sadia do you promise to continue to love him unconditionally to support him in his goals to honor and respect him to laugh with him and cry with him and to cherish your time together i do now upon the authority vested in me by the province of british columbia i pronounce you as duly married
