We Found a WASP INFESTED Honda Rancher in West Virginia - Sitting 8 Years - Will it Run again?

we were told that there's a wasp infestation you're good you got hit by a last minute that air filter one word dialed i can think of many other ones dialed will work for today charles can wheel a four-wheeler [Music] uh it's gonna be it's better but did it pull both wheels oh okay that was okay that was that was really stupid right the break was seized up the foot break i pulled up on it it's okay it's just this we weren't ready to push where are we a little warning next time you do that yes sir what a beauty another yellow one from west virginia exactly one year later so charles what do you got here man okay so we've got a 2004 honda rancher 80 and it's a 400. i went to see my family in west virginia and they had this in the backyard and i picked it up it's been abandoned for roughly six to eight years not really sure on the stories but uh we're going to try and get it running and we don't have a key it'll be fine it'll be fine so okay yeah we were told that there's a wasp infestation yeah i see the nest i don't see any water oh there's one on the there's one the back side of that one so oh yes let me get some uh something for him some hot sauce yeah i've been a little worried i don't know you know this engine's been sitting for a while and i really want it to be good because i mean i've never had this is the nicest off-road machine i've ever had and that's you know look at it let's see this is a pull cord let's see if the engine's stuck oh it's got compression good thankful all right i feel so much easy now i feel so much better okay oh hey hey he dropped there's one two three four five nests in the battery box area you said there was one in the exhaust yeah i think so uh here's there's two under here in the like maybe right right there now that we know the motor's not locked up let's check the dipstick to see if it's overfilled or mixed or something that looks pretty good looks good it smells how does it taste 10 30 wet clutch that's what you want that's which want i know i disturbed them if they're in there oh my gosh they're all in there dead no they're not yeah look there's like 10 of them down in the base oh there it is well they're dead so we just i didn't see any nests though no i don't know why they're in there probably oh where's the intake uh where's the inlet this right here that's the inlet yeah so there's probably a nest in there if he's still in there he ain't happy he ain't happy two in the front and then one under here so nine nine eight and oh and then the exhaust so ten so we got a wash nest per year yeah yeah yeah 10 years 10 wasps nest man i hadn't seen a red wasp in a while yeah that's that's what we're talking about a red red paper wasp uh so i bought this four-wheeler without a key i figured since the price was right i wasn't too worried about it and we have master lock pick himself that's right so i'm gonna work on uh getting the ignition switch to turn so we can of course hook up a battery and see what we got hopefully it'll fire up if this thing fires up that will be the deal of a century throw some hot sauce to it and see if will fire perfect we'll see if this uh new battery from go power sports will fit in here i haven't even checked the part number it just looks like it'll fit yeah i'll link it down below if it's going to work i think that's a win we may have to put something underneath of it to make the battery hold down tight but that's i think that's that's the quality you're paying for so what are you doing ike i'm i'm picking picking when i touched these we didn't get any sparks i don't see any smoke i don't smell anything i know we're outside but so far that's good and it being that they were telling me that the battery died with it sitting i was surprised you know there wasn't like a i think there'd be a draw yeah there'd be a draw like sparks or something so i don't know just i guess we're gonna have to figure out if whenever if we get it running we'll see what happens oh cause i just got that look about them that i'm about to tear some stuff up though i'm done talking to him yeah that's the i'm tired of your stuff oh gosh oh boy get it spinning well i don't want to this looks not safe it'll be fine charles you might want to look away i know i'm gonna have to buy a whole new face plastic no i'm just kidding i don't want metal fragments in my gas tank he's an animal should i unhook the battery since you're messing with that yes it's probably a good idea oh my god you were spraying me with carb clean i had to get you back i was wondering where that smoke was coming from oh you push all right let's hook up the battery and see if we've got a because you should have a neutral light all right right there sweet it has uh oil in it it does this is an air cooler liquid cooled as far as i can tell it's it's air cooled because i could see oil i could see an oil cooler and a fan but i don't see like oh it's got a fan yeah it's got a fan on the wall cooler oh it's been really sweet i guess it will come on with a thermostat switch but um i don't see any i don't see any water jackets or any uh water outlets for the head so i don't i don't think this is liquid cooled yeah i haven't done any research on these i don't know anything about them that's all right let's see what happens you ready oh hold on hold on we got something we've got ignition all right hey that's hey good job man oh that was your right hand too yeah i had to think about it yeah but i'll let you put all the force on that one let's turn it over you want to turn it probably sucked it in oh oh it's just falling i can't even grab it where do we go with it all right k truck dang okay so side note you wanna know something funny about these little metal socks is my first four-wheeler that i ever bought someone just had a tube sock wrapped around this metal thing when i bought when i got it home i was like man it'll work do you buy it from him here we go hot sauce [Applause] you got hit by a last mess yeah he got hit oh oh we got hit by two of them dude if there's if there were any wasps in there they're unhappy now nice job guys y'all i think uh sounds carburetor no good look at all that i'm wondering spider web stuff i'm wondering if uh right now the thing is filling up fuel the cylinder because it couldn't pull it over before yeah yeah so the carburetor's got to come off so uh not a big deal we'll pull it apart uh clean it out and by the time we get this carburetor back on put some air in the tires i bet you we can make a hot lap with it [Music] [Music] all right let's get the linkages hooked man i forgot all about them wasps man waspers yeah they say waspers all right well the clamps all the way loose so we'll just call that good it it came off pretty good should be able to go on pretty good nice little cover for the throttle i think i think you got it yeah it felt smooth because you kind of have to twist these things with a little bit of resistance anyway because the the rubber boot holds it straight got to hold your tongue just right buddy yeah boom it's like it wants to be there that boot's stiff but i'm glad glad it's in there yeah all right well i'm going to go uh check out uh find you a oh air filter for this oh wow there's yeah there's some parts in there i want to dump it out so i'm i'm going to go uh find a air filter so i'll be right back okay i just got here and uh i was blown away by this air filter i just those things are stupid i'm about to go get a zip tie perfect look at the hair filter it's scotch bright and um and the oil today that's the most cars and cameras improved thing i've seen in a while actually i think that's going to work really good we might even make it to bus go with this it might work for other kind of uh applications too as long as the scotch brite stuff doesn't start coming apart and going in the engine that stuff's pretty tough and and that uh that that metal that is wrapped around double walled okay so it'll hold it still uh-huh yeah i like it yeah thank you that air filter one word dialed i can think of many other ones dialed will work for today awesome just a little bit more i had it on and then we cut it back off just just in case okay do we have flow we should we should have i checked it before i put the carburetor on so i got choke i got trottle ready yep hey we might [Music] whoa gotta let it warm up it could just be cold yeah it has been sitting for quite a while so the four wheeler's running a little rough but we're gonna see if it clears up with a little bit of riding yeah so in order to see if we were actually getting it in gear like because it's got overdrive and like electronic shift position so you can you know change change gears when you want to with these buttons but you could we couldn't see anything on the lens so i went to our local park store and picked up a headlight repair kit because i was hoping it was the same kind of plastic as a headlight and you know fingers crossed it it's actually looking pretty good it looks way better than it is elbow grease sure is man working out that shoulder oh yeah physical therapy exactly good to go all right i've been waiting my eyes have been closed the whole time i think that'll do donkey well you can at least read it yeah you can see the lines and stuff we couldn't see we couldn't see anything i didn't even know there was a square there yeah there we go oh look at that couldn't read any of that no it tells you the hours it's got 459 hours on it oh it's brand new that's a lot of hours they rode the snot out of this thing i mean it's an o4 so we got it in esp it's got 5 000 miles on it 5 500 miles that's pretty good yeah i mean 5 000 miles in it but it looks great it's got another 20 in it man it's a honda it is a honda that's right i forgot all about that they don't even they don't even need an odometer on them things just check the oil see if that r works dog oh that was a good sign oh my gosh we got reverse on cars and cameras what's going on here are we really at work all right that's first gear all right so i gotta shift it with the buttons because it's in the esp you can put it in auto and it'll shift for you apparently all right let's give it a shot [Music] [Laughter] hello he turned he turned the fuel off work oh and it downshifts too and it's been sitting for like eight years honestly it looks like it never stopped that's a honda that's that's the quality that you pay for quality you're paying for things things doing pretty good man this thing's good why can't we find a deal like that i know i was gonna say we've been doing this how long we don't even have a proper four-wheeler that just works well we got one no i mean a proper four-layer that just works it works not one that like sometimes works and sometimes kills you i mean it works you guys gotta try this yeah it looks real good all right oh who's next let's take it to our off-road court and have a little challenge oh yeah i haven't even seen that spot we thought we would welcome charles's yellow four-wheeler to the cars and cameras fleet by putting it up against a timeless classic the atc 200 so we're going to head for our off-road course it's a technical slow and very muddy course through the woods uh around one of our tracks we're gonna put them head to head the straightaways i was worried i was like i guess if i get beat by the three wheeler no big deal that thing looked fast you know i feel like maybe if you were on it you could be the equalizer oh man oh oh man we got some maintenance we got to do to that thing that's true let's just call it i mean we'll come back so that being said i guess we'll catch you next time like it okay and hopefully did lay down a 47 second lap time i mean that's 100 dirty fuel that's honda it's a nice rig you got there man thank you look at how disgusting that is pretty gross you need a parking spot yeah but you're blocking the jump you can't jump it you'll jump into the building drive through drive through
