We Bought a Cheap 1985 Honda Odyssey FL350 at a Swap Meet

levitating Honda Odyssey oh what was that so Mark found a Honda Odyssey FL 350 is what they call them right 350 two yeah yeah yeah yeah he's a horrible influence but you know that's another bucket list uh vehicle right there it's the world's it's basically the first side by side they ever made so let's check it out H Odyssey says runs it runs here love the suspension yeah it's so crazy it's like it reminds me of Porsche 911 suspension very cool CVT looks like we're going to need a [Music] belt it says it runs but I don't think the throttle works and that's that's throttle right there I believe it's stuck well we could talk to him and okay see see what he's willing to do on the price he Mark I think it's a great decision dude I think it's worth it but the biggest thing is getting it home and markk you you said you deliver it right you're coming to mini Mayhem in the fall you talk to Tim about it I'll drive wait you guys have been planning a trip up to our spot it just hasn't happened yet it hasn't perfect excuse I'm going to go talk to the boss go talk to the make it happen you know what and I got to sell some T-shirts to help pay for this turn thing I bet you I bet you if we give Aaron a hug we got a place to put it oh oh guys I have a building you can place it in till it goes oh and it's only 10 minutes from there enablement enablement heck yeah boys yeah all we is will this fit in the back of a school bus that's where we're at Take the Wheel yeah that's where we're at 100% got to take the wheels off oh yeah turn up sideways is going to be to the top of my door right like literally to take the the wheels off we' have to take the top bar off okay and we'd have to get several people to turn it sideways and go into the bus so I just I just paid him what's he about to show us oh it's going to run all right my man smile CER I wish the camera saw his smile Jeff thank you buddy sir appreciate it man you know uh we got this crazy idea on how we're going to get this back over there pulling it with three of these okay three micros let me know how that works he said all right so us fellas are going to be driving the micro carts and Bella here is going to cable and I try to get the Cor erosion worked out of it fre and sometimes it'll free up it's probably right where you found cuz there's a split you can feel in the rubber in here to sleeve oh wait we got it we got Movement we got does it return it return it's not returning but we'll go over here so we'll work it so take the uh well uh take the cap off and then we'll pull down on the uh is this a single C nice huh kind of gummy in there yeah yeah it is Gummy look at that it's full there you go there you go all right I'm I'm going to pull on it it work it work it all right right is it uh returning oh yes dude oh nice it's not bad we dude you know it' be messed up we we run it and we drive by Jeff's place absolutely absolutely look at this dude yeah all right steering wheel is nice yes it is wait how do you push button I guess it's a CD but it has like reverse jackpot oh yeah good idle I can't believe it it idles sort of I think we ought to before run it too long we probably ought to come up with our own premix some new fuel new fuel filter new fuel and some oil mix it up to 20 to1 like it asked yep and uh and Rib it cuz we don't know what kind of fuel is in here we don't you if they mix it correct we don't know if this mixed correct I don't see any smoke or anything was there any smoke no no okay so let's be safe and put the right fuel in it heck yeah guys yeah all right sweet awesome 300 bucks holy you guys will'll have to come up with some kind of fuel metering set up for the pump but other than that this thing is old enough to wear it's basically mechanical need another big project like don't need another I think you need it dude the like heavy diagnosed projects when I don't have this looks very complicated I got the high that only comes with buying way too much old junk yeah I do too way too much old junk yeah so we're going to get some dinner we're going to head to the par store try to get some stuff running diff fluid fuel filter yes two stroke oil right let's go have some fun here for some fuel line fuel filters yes sir you know what thinking about applying for a job you should yeah shopping at Go pass for that's it uh do you need some for the odsi yeah probably how many just one or just one hey guys now's your chance got a 225 RS on sale 9949 it's the engine that goes in the T4 pretty sweet little unit that is so freaking cool levitating Honda Odyssey all right we're good good yeah awesome it's so sweet it is really cool yeah this thing is so [Music] cool it's a it's a big heavy thing it is man so we we still have to take it apart and put it in the back of the bus to get it home but you know what we might as well see what we have see if we can get it running mix up some fuel and then figure out what kind of parts we need to order so they can be waiting for us sounds good so while we're working on the Odyssey over there Jeremy and Alex are going to be turning a micro Kart into an airplane heck yeah we're ready to fly so I don't know this is totally them it's on them their idea I'm not sure how it's going to work so we'll come check on you in when we hear screaming right sounds great good luck fellas all right so first things first we're not going to mess around with this old two-stroke we've know firsthand what happens if you don't have the right amount of fuel and oil mixture in a two strob so Joe here is helping us out by emptying the fuel tank and we're going to go with a fresh 32 to1 mix I see brown okay why is there Brown 20 to1 well it's 20 to1 but we were told that modern oil is like more efficient or something that's the thing with two strokes dude there is no rule and when your stuff blows up the only person to blame is yourself it's orange why is it yeah it's old yeah do we go off your elbow this is how the pros do it right here ready yeah yeah all right so by taste what's the oil the fuel makes it's actually Sunkissed good spirits yeahuh I need to dump this out again you got to dump again kind of so like over two gallons just came out of this thing and it looks like molasses and the other good idea to to check is the fuel filter we don't know how long it's been sitting we don't know what kind of condition it's in or what's made at home in this area and we don't want to suck it in uh as soon as we fire it up actually looks really nice I mean guys look look at that that actually might be new so it's a little cruddy in here but you know what we'll just let the old Honda chew on it no it is it it is pretty clean so we're going to put it back together mix up some fresh fuel soon as Isaac gets back cuz we forgot our two-stroke oil and we might try to fire it up battery charger did we find a battery charger hey you're not working on the micro I'm not working on the micro what am I SC said this tire is biger than what am I paying you for fixing Bernie's bike up for him real quick and then we're going to well Jeremy's already got this start he's getting ready to cut this nice and then start trying to do some test fitting all right so the fuel tank still has debris down in there and some old gas you can see it it's not really focusing but yeah look at that look at all that nasty stuff in there otherwise fuel tanks in really nice shape so we don't have a Honda Odyssey fuel filter but what we're going to do is just add a second one right before the carburetor time that fuel line gets replaced anyway real hard I'm going to be careful not to break this te cuz we don't have one little tug sweet sometimes little tug is all you need perfect we've got the matching Red fuel line Honda red from Go Power Sports my boy cousin Joey hooking them up always Uber Eats for John got to get it done got some gear oil some Parmesan o little caola in here sweet oh yeah dinner how about dinner yeah somebody wore some pizza oh yeah I said i' wait what this is all they had enough for [Music] gallon all right there's one half found some really nice fuel line there's the other half let's fill it up do red sauce this late um I don't old [Music] man say that's I'm not the only one get get white every single one of y'all are going to go through it too that's all I'm saying all right anybody got a lighter you need you need left in there to get that perfect I that still going what what it'll be fine right it'll beine did you say 3.2 you have 3.2 o you need 4 o for one gall of gas to be 3 said to use an iometer to that's that's what I was using my iometer so so you need another 8 O added to that gallon to be perfectly if it was a full gallon it was a full gallon so how much more8 O8 sounds like a splash it looks like if I just go a half a gallon with this one and then the rest of this bottle that should be that should be right there I think it said add to taste right yeah that's it seon to taste so here's the level right here for the gallon all right boys that ought to get us really close to our desired 32 to one close on the Odyssey Jeremy is just tearing it up over there so there's no dipstick I'm assuming you just fill it up dude there's there's going to be a fill you're right you're right you're right so where's the uh the fill so is that how y'all check and it was didn't okay so it might have fluid well you know this thing does have an owner's manual you could always consult the owner's manual where's the owner manual it's over here I was elected to Le to so cool little oh wait I forgot to get the owner's manual from the dude it has the tools but the dude still has the owner's manual okay so the Odyssey has it's full and it looks good great so that's not the fill line you don't fill it until it's full check the oil level with the oil check bolt it's always a great idea to Google it or or look around and and you can see my fingers it's pretty clean yeah looks good until it gets turned up and then I'm sure we'll clean it we'll change it yeah but sounds good my God awesome that is so cool I need the propeller on the yeah propeller dude all you need is a propeller on the front of that thing so they they had a small metal fan blade out there I'm dude that is really cool yeah it's coming together it's pretty good I'm pretty excited this Jeremy's idea he saw them out that's why you come to the P swap meet man you just your imagination takes over yeah I just got to do a little bit more trimming for the wheels to get them to fit but basically everything will be able to be reaching from the pull start on the inside and then I want to build a little bracket that comes up for the foot Pig so that they sit actually underneath the wings too so then that way that'll be your your new foot position on there sweet technically this could compete for the pain trophy correct I've never sat in one of these before is it weird like having your feet as for bolsters and not for controls I feel like I'm in a Buck Rogers uh episode and my butt is getting soaked right now it rained today you're you're already committed oh no it's slow can I have piz card it was slowly it's creeping up yeah boys ready I'm ready guys all key on let's check the throttle it's returning ch cranking oh yeah hey oh oh all right let's open the door let's go take it right out oh yeah there's a in the way that's all right yeah where maybe the v ah cut it off yeah go ahead and cut it off it is it's coming out down here is the carburetor so the uh float is sticking is is what we're thinking so basically what I got to do is put these straps on just go run the dog out of it that sounds like a great idea okay I think that just came out the Overflow too okay that's fine it just needs to get driven really hard yeah see I don't know what to worry about it has mirror [Music] or reverse it oh what was that I wonder if the if the spark plug was just kind of fingertight in there it sounded like spark plug came right out didn't that what it sound like oh yeah that was it oh my God that scared the poop out of me all right looks like they're still threads yeah yeah they're still there still threads on there that was funny I guess it was just finger tight in there good times good times all right sounded like can't remember everything night after Beanie Weenies it sounded like the night after Beanie Weenies what do you think man uh well I hadn't really got on it but when it went over the curb there it was so smooth really effort effortlessly went over that carbing uh and well I just put this thing in its natural habitat right here so I think we get that spark plug tight I might give it a little something little juice see what happens I like it cuz it should have run long enough that it has circulated all that fuel fresh fuel into got some new oil in the in the base should be good to go how many lights worked on the front uh two two of them Center one and one of the side ones no both side ones dude the CER the center one didn't come on no flip some other switches yep that's the center or that's the oh triple Bean the triple bean I like that one better got the level of commitment right now oh that's a resourceful guy right there yeah that thing might yeah [Applause] [Music] that's not bad right there it reminds me of like a really small Polaris ACE it's just a single seat side by side it's smoking a lot more than it was in the [Music] beginning you know I [Music] this thing's awesome good I CH any rocks on that car get out look really cool aome you want try I do okay that way that's fine look at that got our money we're using it I like it it's a lot of fun guys thank you for the help everybody that might be the most fun I've had on four wheels it's saying something sweet yeah super we just need about 10 more of them and go racing basically be buil to where it can be removed so if you have to replace anything it but it'll raise it up just enough so the tires can do cool so this is our secondary plot line for this episode it's coming along really cool it's great they're just coming up with a way to to bolt it in so it can be removable well and that's what I wanted to talk to you guys about too like it looks like the wings might be a little high should we move them down a little bit cuz they're just bolted down be better do you want to put your feet up here guys I feel like y'all are in charge on this one I got this one all right y'all are responsible how about that we could always put it on the ground and like kind of test it out too gra the back end it's so awkward now grab the back so awkward now you guys did just build an airplane time to go fly oh yeah oh yeah oh yeah need some get it fired up and do a hot lap tomorrow Isaac is recovering from his 20-hour Drive um but Zach over here has never seen an odyssey in real life before let alone ridden one so we're going to give him a chance to ride this thing uh so Ike and I can hit it fresh on the Grand Prix tomorrow morning so you want to sit it and fire it up and uh see if we can get it running let's do it that rear right is really concerning yeah yeah it is we're going to do a hot lap on that rear right bro yeah I'll do it yeah all right it's so bad so the front tires are like this this and the rear tires are like this yeah so we got a lot of work we got to do to that thing yeah this thing needs about three of everything oh yeah you can cut it off there you go how does it drive it drives okay the front brakes are sketch all right cuz every wheel is like headed a different direction is it really yeah dude every the alignment is not good cuz it felt okay okay but I love it I want one now yeah it looks like fun it's like really in between a go-kart and a cross cart it is my turn that's great my turn oh [Music] this thing is awesome you like it I love it sweet absolutely love it it's my new favorite no really pretty close out of all the thousands of things we've worked on it's just so smooth I feel like with a good alignment on the front and rear this thing is just going to dominate you know just matching tires on the rear is going to make a huge difference yeah it really is how's the horsepower it's lacking but the handling is just fantastic so it's like a Miata it's basically the Miata of go-karts [Applause] [Music] the brakes are really holding me back I'm having to slow down way before I want to to enter the turn because I'm afraid I'm going to roll the thing ah yeah fair enough yeah so if I had some brakes where I can really stand on the brakes and stuff I feel like I've got another easy two seconds in it cool man well we're going to have to find out after we do our mods to this thing yeah but for now I'm going to give it a go we're going to put a Time on the board all right all right so I'm going to get some warm-up laps in this thing and just get some driving Impressions um while I practice cuz I I I've only ridden this uh in circles down in Texas so first things first the seating position is pretty good you're sitting up upright it is a strange feeling to have your feet just flat uh and they're not doing anything but it's nice cuz you get them for bracing the thumb throttle is so cool I mean that cast aluminum there it's like polished aluminum it looks like it's very very cool cool feature I mean this steering wheel is just iconic uh brakes are going to be interesting cuz we only have fronts and Ike says they don't work so good so let's uh let's hit it I'm not going to use the wrist restraints even though probably should Fire's right up let it come down to idle put it in gear and we're off yeah oh yeah now great spe work great spe work Lo [Music] oh wow the alignment is horrible right very good oh all right wow yeah I can feel this thing want to flip that's for sure but man man it's for the factory 40-year-old worn out suspension it feels very nice all right dude what do you think his time's going to be I'm going to say uh 5550 I'm going to say a 5630 dude no we can't can't let me know all right all right so we are going to go to the board and we're going to see who's the fastest it is so cool it is so it is such a nice machine you can feel how much it wants to tip over yeah yeah yeah it's like I I described it as like it's like a negotiation uhhuh and you do it through the wheel it's like when you feel it tip you just kind of like reduce steering angle yeah and pre a little bit Yeah but it's really nice did I kind of surprise you in that corner there I didn't even see oh wow okay so in today's episode of cars and cameras we went to the pain swap meet we picked up a worn out but still completely serviceable and rippable 1985 Honda Odyssey this is a unicorn and it's only going to get better from here cuz the suspension is totally clapped out and we're going to be doing some performance stuff and really really cool stuff y so we have a baseline hotlap time around the cars and cameras Grand Prix so I'm going to say the time and then I'm going to reveal which one of us did it started with a five a Honda Odyssey 56 that already puts it in like the top five or six nice 27 that would be you sir by me yeah nice 562 27 so it goes right here behind the mb2 200 in 1 2 3 four five sixth place right behind the trophy cart but I rv. to get some Restoration Parts as well as some performance parts to get this thing faster and also to kind of spruce it up to its former glory to treat it like the rare unicorn that it is so hope
