hello YouTube family and friends today's topic watermelon harvesting time are they ready we're so excited to try to get at these melons so I'm gonna show you the watermelon Harvest signs so that you'll know when to pull your melon so let's go in close and take a look at it all right the first thing that we that I look for I'll follow the stem back and I look for this tendril it's all dried up right here where my finger is at it's all dried the next Telltale sign I look at the belly of the watermelon it should have a yellow on it yellow belly at the bottom so those are my Signs Now if your tendril and some people already have said this I this uh watermelon tender was dried a lot sooner so you can look at the packet on the back of your seeds to uh see how long the watermelon is supposed to uh take so you can give yourself a general idea of what you uh may need to do if that tendril is already dried so we're gonna go ahead and get ready to cut this one oh well not cut it open I'm gonna go ahead and cut it off the vine and then we also going to do a taste testing after we get our melons so let's go ahead and cut this baby all right so we're gonna move that and we'll go to the next one all right now here are the next uh melons that we're gonna get and I put my little uh Secret uh detector for all the pests that we were getting hopefully that worked but I don't know yet so I won't tell you where exactly I got it from the tin Drew is dry and I got discoloration at the bottom of it so we're gonna go ahead and cut it cut that one all right and I'm gonna move that over here out the way and I'm gonna come on back for the next one going in got that yellow belly at the bottom of it dry tendril oh it's getting heavy and heavier put this one over here now we're going in in deep now I made a mistake now I got too excited I saw the darker color on this uh watermelon and I was like that's the sugar baby I like I kept growing so I had to remember that it's not a sugar baby it is a black diamond watermelon oh look at that yellow look at the yellow belly right there I mean I am so excited because I didn't think I was gonna get a melon at all we had those uh rabbits and pests animals I'm going deep going deeper and deeper now this one is humongous this this right here is a juicy juicy look at it oh yeah we gonna weigh this bad baby oh oh I'ma need a truck all right we almost ready all right so we gonna come on over here and uh get this last one we still have some other melons but this one is a moon and star because I have the yellow dots all over I don't know what I was thinking I'm all mixed up so look at that coloration there the dry tendril and I'm going to cut it all right so we're gonna go inside we're gonna weigh the melons and yes we gonna get at them and we're gonna eat vanilla I'm not gonna cut them all open because I don't I'm not gonna have any room for it but let's go inside and get these uh melons ready for weighing and for test tasting yeah hey we're inside and we're about to uh crack this one open I decided to get this one I was gonna open the biggest one but I noticed that there's a little spot here so I want to make sure I take care of this melon and I want to check to make sure the inside is straight but we about to find out so that's why I decided to uh Harvest and we'll cut this one open now I get this question I got it yesterday I get it a lot and I didn't say it outside yesterday someone asked me what do I feed my melons throughout the growing season all right so if you are new to uh my channel thanks for uh deciding to roll with us and if you've already been rolling with me thanks for continuing to do so this long all right so I use compost tea it's called Boogie brew and I'm gonna put it down in the uh description so that you can look at it it's a Amazon affiliate link and I have been using it for a long time so and I also use wood chips of course that breaks down so I'm getting the best of uh all of the fertilizer so that's what I use so let's go ahead and I'll wait I just and weigh two Melons I'm going to weigh the two biggest melons all right let's put the first juicy juicy on here and I'll try to get you over so you can see that is 28 pounds all right so 28 pounds all right the second juice it juicy all right that says 24 pounds eight ounces so that's the weight of that juicy juicy all right once again this is the melon that has that spot on it and I want to make sure I handle this one first and I know I weighed the uh the two melons the other melons weighed 18 pounds 19 then 20 pounds and then 22 pounds it really doesn't matter the size of the weight of the melon but I always like to weigh the melons because we have this little competition at our house us who can guess the melon so that's why I did it so really not worried about the size now next month and my last fishing tournament I am very worried about the weights because I need to make regionals so I can have a shot at the big prize but let's go ahead and cut into it all right let's see what's inside of this juicy juicy and I think I was wrong with the color because it is a mixed combination I don't know it ain't bad but I ain't never seen one that looked like this on the inside and it is sweet but let me show you what this looked like it's sweet of a yellow melon and also the other melons that we grow I ain't never seen that before interesting let me go get one of my kids and I'm gonna have them taste it and see what they think all right taste it what it tastes like sweet very good it is sweet and very good hey look at the color of this I don't know why it looked like that but it's sweet right oh man I don't know what's going on all right thank you it's real sweet but I'm kind of still in my way look like on the inside I've never seen one like that let me bring you in again but I don't know if the melons last year when they got pollinated it crossed over and cross-pollinated and we got this on the inside but it's sweet I had to go and uh verify it with my son and so I'm gonna do it again with my daughter and my wife but I have never seen them like that let me know in the comments if you've seen a watermelon like this but we definitely gonna eat it because it's definitely sweet and it's definitely uh ready but I was just baffled whoa so I'm trying to figure out did I come up with a new kind of watermelon if so we're gonna call it I don't know Bill Brown's juicy juicy all right so I'm gonna Harvest these seeds when we uh finish this melon and then I'ma put a note on it and take a picture of this and see if it's gonna look like this next year I wonder what the other one's gonna look like but I'll take a picture of them and I'll put it in the uh Community tab when I cut those open but someone may want to get a watermelon when my family members see the video so but that right there is something first I was about to jump back like what whoa it is good I that's all I can say is yeah all right so this is the uh Harvest hopefully I have some more uh melons outside that will be ready to come in maybe at the end of the month hopefully and I'll keep cutting and eating for sure all right this is bear brown thanks for coming to my channel and I'll see you next time and if you want to subscribe go ahead and do so catch you later bye hey I was just about to put the watermelon in the refrigerator and my son said Dad it looks just like our popsicles just like that so maybe we'll call this Popsicle watermelon but it does it is sweet yeah I just was a baffled about what it looked like because I never had one to look like that but look at that I'm glad he came up with that watermelon popsicle I don't know but I just want to show you that before I put it in the refrigerator I know my wife can want to juice it but uh-uh no
