two spray paint cans, empty I like paint cans because they don't have food-grade coatings marking the can, 10cm (4") from bottom the other can is marked 4 cm (1 1/2") from bottom cutting in the place piece of wood just to help to make a hole making a hole with 1cm (3/8") approximately, but the size is not critical copper curve it will be soldered right around the hole rounding the edge of the curve to fit the curvature of the can (using a half-round file) soldering small jar lid fits inside the can, with a gap of about 2 mm on each side I will use 2 of them high temperature silicone rubber making holes exactly in the center rigid aluminum wire (I used aluminum because it is very light) bending the tip to support the piston (lids) glued with the same silicone rubber the piston must move freely with some play making a 3mm hole in the center of the bottom of the other can the piston MUST move freely and fall with gravity piece of copper tube, with the internal diameter slightly bigger than the aluminum wire more soldering again, the piston MUST move freely and fall with gravity making the holes for the crankshaft support supports, bolts, washers and nuts rigid steel wire for crankshaft metal clip bending to form the connecting rod pieces of tube to attach to the crankshaft (this is an electrical wire cover) this way the connecting rod doesn't fall to the sides electrical connector removing the insides (block and screws) cutting in the half this will hold the connecting rod to the aluminum wire more silicone sealing the cylinder cover another metal clip making another connecting rod, this one is for the power piston ordinary balloon cutting a hole in the thickest part of the balloon attaching the connecting rod to the balloon with a bolt and large washers installing the "power piston" to the cylinder tin lid, large tin lids make great flyweels making a hole exactly in the center one more piece of copper tube, this will hold in the crankshaft more soldering done. lubricating moving parts ice too slow with only one candle it was too slow so I added one more candle
